Agreed, not fun. 3 hours, with speed skills on a thief, barely getting past the first pause / wall collapse.
No thanks. Not worth it.
The next patch (22nd) is going to include more than just Halloween stuff. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is heavy PvP as well.
With no word about it? If there was a major PvP patch coming they’d be talking about it.
Giving it time is not going to fix these issues. They are only going to snow ball, especially the transfer issue.
Yeah its gotten that bad in some places.
I think people are getting really disheartened and need to know you are seeing the problems with the current WvW system.
There should be no PvP bonus for owning orbs. The whole point is to be competitive, how does given a team that is already facerolling more facerolling ability making it competitive?
Its not.
Also the more territory you have the harder it should be to hold. That isn’t happening right now, because the more territory you have now makes you stronger, it doesn’t spread then your forces, it does spread thin your supply line, or the number of guards you have.
Controlling all the map should be hard. Not impossible, but it should be hard, even if you vastly outnumber the players on the other teams. Make it mean something, and not easy like it is now. Now once a side gets momentum, it is pretty much inevitable.
Real competitive WvW players should want it to be competitive and a challenge.
It was described that a few players could make it hard for a much larger force to take a keep, yet that isn’t happening either.
WvW is pretty much broken to what it was described as.
Disable WvWvW for anyone who transfers until the next match up

If it is disabled, then no one is going to be able to transfer just because of the current match up, or jump from a losing side to a winning one in the same match up.
The other options would be to disable transfers to currently matched servers.
Or both.
That would be better than just disabling them for everyone just for this problem.
If you or your guild is transferring for any other reason, this shouldn’t matter then, you can wait until the current match is over.
WvWvW should be disabled until the next round for anyone who transfers. That would stop the server jumping because of current match ups.
Get rid of WvWvW tokens and go to a point score system go to a system similar to Karma only separate. You earn currency that way from doing damage or whatever method you want to divide it up by, but get rid of the Token loot.
WvWvW Should get increasingly more difficult to hold as you take more area

As the title suggests, the more territory you control in WvWvW, the harder it should be to hold onto it. Few guards, stretched supply lines, may be even weaker walls and gates.
It should reflect your Home territory’s forces are now having to guard home and abroad.
Don’t make it impossible to control all of a map, but make it more difficult the more territory you have, and make controlling all of the map a much more worth while accomplishment.
It isn’t really reasonable to expect us to sit there and try to go through each and report them when they are up. As I’ve been seeing lately a lot of these bots have 1-2 live players guarding them, or a zerg from your team mows them over before you get the chance.
In WvW you can’t click on them after they are fully defeated, so I’ve run into many instances where obvious bot groups have gone unreported because of this.
“I’d like for them to reconsider how badges are collected personally. Something where you just get badges for being involved with things on a regular basis.”
I’d rather they drop badges altogether. Go to a point system (similar to Karma only separate) for damage done perhaps even healing (not yourself only others).
The industry solution:
First, go after the pirates. When that didn’t work or had little effect; go after the downloaders. Thousands and thousands of regular users, innocent and guilty, old and young, people with internet connection and those who didn’t even have a computer. All targets and all threatened and/or taken to court.
So how exactly are people not buying gold going to get punished by Arena.net punishing the buyers they are certain of also?
2. Goldsellers start to mail random people free gold.
lol right.
Hasn’t happened once in any game that has punished the buyers.
Actually ANet´s “Gold 4 Gems” is a good solution already.
If you look at what Arena.nets exchange rate is, compared to the sellers spamming, Arena.net isn’t even close to competitive to them.
Like I said earlier, I’ve bought twice from Arena.net. And looking at what sellers are selling them for, I feel like I got ripped off almost, a fool at least. But I’m not interested in taking the risk with those sellers.
Unfortunately other players are, and in good numbers clearly with the amount of botting and spamming we’re seeing.
Do what I have done with my missus, create a guild together, it doesn’t take long to get a bank.
And if they are already in a guild they like with other people? Not a solution.
The problem is that goldbuyers are a lot harder to spot. They don’t tend to advertise or use bots.
Gold sellers are easy to spot. They spam chat. They bot, or farm the same places over again and have websites.
Do you think they send the money on those same character? They have stables of characters for each type of purpose. One for spamming, one for storing, one for farming, one for trading.
They aren’t using the same account and characters for all of those.
Remove the ability to trade in-game currency via mail, most of the problem solved.
There was no in game mail in GW1, but selling was rampant in that game also. How do you think they distributed the gold then? All they had to do is send them a message to meet in a zone and trade manual. You don’t stop a thing by doing that.
ounkeo, give me a break, all digital exchange, if they know who the seller is, they know who the buyer is period. It doesn’t matter how many hops it makes they are going to be able to trace it.
If they are getting money through mail or trade, regardless if it is several hops, from these known sellers that they are going to ban, then it is pretty clear.
If someone gets suspended then banned for no reason, they can appeal. But I highly doubt that would happen if they track all money moving between players in mail or trade.
If you are going to lose your account over buying, people are going to have second thoughts after they get their first suspension.
Other games punish the buyers. LotRO suspends then bans buyers and sellers. You don’t see the spam sellers with their F2P model. Even at their peak when their player base was at its highest you didn’t see them, because they got banned fast, and buyers got suspended and banned also.
If that game can trace them accurately then this game can also.
Seems more like worry from people buying from them to try to cast doubt so they don’t get banned when they try to stop punishing buyers.
Until companies take a real stand against it, it will continue.
Its not a billion dollar business because only a few people aren’t buying. So just say, ’Don’t buy from them." and expect that to be enough is a ridiculous reaction.
Just got 2 mails, and one area spam cheaper than the in game currency exchange. Not by a little but by a lot.
I’ve used the exchange twice. But I feel like I’m the dope, when I see those price differences.
Two things have to happen to stop them.
One is you have to beat them in pricing. If you aren’t competitive against them you are always going to have some people buying from them.
The other is not only punish the seller, but the buyer also. Start with just suspending them as a warning. They don’t heed the warning, start banning them also.
Until then some players are never going to care, and they will always buy from them, when they can buy cheaper with no worry of being punished.

Because the MAIN problem that people are having, is not the fact to fight fully upgraded stuff. Is just the INSANE amount of points they gain during the night without any opposition, making it impossible to catch up, no matter how good you did against ACTUAL resistance.
From reading the complaints that isn’t the only problem they have with it. Not only in other threads on the topic, but right here, clearly some don’t like having everything captured, not just the points.
@Guild Wars Fan
But why should the only way to stop the zerg be to zerg them with a zerg of your own?
Except it isn’t. I’ve seen servers zerging get completely worn down and beaten not because the other side had more numbers, they were both capped, but because the side not zerging played smarter.
Things you can do to wear down the zergs, continually cap supply locations, and kill carts. They will run out of resources. It does hurt when you have no resources to rebuild or put up defenses.
Couple that with splitting up to hit multiple areas, if the zerging server isn’t organized they’ll be chasing ghosts.
If they are organized, you aren’t being beat by the zerg.
Wanna stop brainless zergs dead in their track? Easy peasy: arrow carts hit per 5k/tick and have 0.5 second CD on skill “1”. End of zerg domination, forever.
It is world vs world, thee will always be zergs, and it is just as valid a game style as smaller group.
Two, that solution, doesn’t just hurt zergs, it hurts everyone who is targeted by them.
When should I try to play the game? Christmas? Next year?
With this attitude… never. Please never.
Actually it is.
Most intelligent gamers don’t go into a game assuming everything is going to work. You did. Your mistake.
It is a given there will be game bugs yet you assumed otherwise.
Have one of my older computers running the game on AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz at max graphics with no problems.
Perhaps there needs to be a money bonus to high levels coming back to lower level areas to cover costs. You are X level but you are playing in a zone X levels lower, you get this much to cover expenses.
Anyone that actually thinks nerfing the rewards across the board was a good idea is the sort of person who I can’t take seriously.
There are tons of games that have nerfed rewards because it was doing harm to the game economy.
They did this because it was doing harm. Enough harm it was a huge red light to them this early in the game.
Did they nerf it too much? Possibly. I’m not so sure the few of you posting here are the real demographic to look at here.
I doubt however that the staff here is just ignoring the results of this change. And if it actually is too much of a nerf, they will change it in time.
But hey you all must be right, Arenanet and its resources monitoring various aspects of the game must have it wrong, and you all with your… well never mind, you all must be right because you are… umm, right.
And they’re complaining about how late this update came so people who already farmed CoF hundreds of time have already gotten the armour and it creates a giant gap between Veteran 80s and New 80s who now have no means to upgrade their gear.
Where does it create this gap? PvP? WvWvW? Nope everything is normalized there.
PvE? Seriously? Where is that needed anywhere, again NEEDED anywhere, in PvE?
So it basically comes doe a self-entitled they have it and I want it mentality.
Because you are the only one allowed to have fun in this game?
As opposed to the other person wanting the game their way, and ruing it for others that don’t like it that way. Your argument goes both ways. We could argue the person you are defending is being just as selfish.
There is no game, not one, that suits all play styles. Its not going to happen either, because the play styles are that far apart there is no way they could make one that fit.
Me I hate gear grinds. Hate them. I get to that point in a game I have no interest to continue, because I don’t want to do the dungeons over and over again, just have to repeat it for the next expansion/gear grind to upgrade. So what does that leave me to do? Base world PvE? Its not PvP because those games almost always make gear a huge factor in PvP, so if I don’t gear grind you are left in the dust. And even then PvP is only a small part of the game tacked on. Your friends in game all move to those areas, so you are left in world PvE doing that over and over? And later you can’t even join in on dungeons because you don’t have the gear to join them with.
Here with the normalization, and less reliance on gear, you can participate in any of those activities. You aren’t stuck grinding to keep up, you aren’t left out of PvP or dungeons. And the whole world still remains playable.

It is much more satisfying to beat them with normalized gear than OP gear then you know it was your skill and not the gear.
That is just it. Players like the OP, there is no way they’d win on skill. That is why this bugs them so much. They have to have the “fastest to grind has the best gear” type of a game to actually win.
Repeatedly bumping this or sending the bug report isn’t helpful.
You think your bug is more important than others? Report the bug, post on it, move on.
well according to the fair credit act
You are one that likes to spout out terms to make it seem like you know what you are talking about, but don’t actually aren’t you?
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is a United States federal law (codified at 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) that regulates the collection, dissemination, and use of consumer information, including consumer credit information.1 (Full Statute (PDF).) Along with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), it forms the base of consumer credit rights in the United States. It was originally passed in 1970,2 and is enforced by the US Federal Trade Commission and private litigants.
The fair credit act is about protecting consumers from unfair credit report claims, and privacy.

Sounds like the OP has trouble with strafing and positioning more than anything else.
To address the surplus, we’ve created some new, limited-time Mystic Forge recipes that use these items. These recipes create boxes that give chances for gold and some cool items.
Any more details on this?
Definitely sounding like it’s not lag and more like it only happens when the player character is female. We’ll keep investigating this; thanks for the help!
interesting. I just noticed now it is only on my female characters. So far that hold true.
People are confusing speed runs and exploit runs.
You can 3 man Arah explorable for a quick 8 tokens and 2 chests in 15 minutes.
Bug out the first mob pack and everyone runs to the first boss.
Pull the first boss mobs separately and kill them.
Loot chest.
Run around the perimeter in the first room to a small crack where you can jump over the wall using swiftness.
Kill the 2nd boss.
Loot chest.
Reset the instance and repeat.
The above is an exploit run.
Just doing the content properly over and over again quickly is a speed run, and there is nothing wrong with it.
Sadly this is how getting groups has always been with GW1, and now GW2.
Grouping tools are definitely needed for the game.
I completely disagree that the high level characters are nerfed in the maps on a lower level. To craft weapopnsmith I need huge quantities of bronze and I have to fight for it with wolves or else risking to die, of course I go to the auction and buy it , but this is not worthy of a serious game and this fact every day makes me stop wanting to play!
PS: sorry for the bad english.
Translation. I want easy mode everywhere else when I get higher level.
I love that the level scales. It makes every zone a possible danger and adds huge replay value.
And yes, still occurring, every cut scene.
It is not lag. There is no video or any other slow down. Just missing audio for the dialogue.
And again it was working fine. Every cut scene worked perfectly until about 2 updates ago.
So if it is lag, why would it just be happening now, and not right from the start when everyone was bunched together?
I hope the devs are also aware of the similar problems with ambient audio, sound/weapon effects, and character status dialouge (“I can outrun a centaur,” etc.)!
Yeah I noticed this with the ambient also when loading into new zones. The ambient sound problem has been occurring since release. I wrote that of as a loading problem.
The cut scene issue is new starting just this last week for me.
Having similar problem. Sound cuts in and out as it swaps between lines or pauses in the conversations.
Happens in all cut scenes. It isn’t cutting in and out mid stride, it is between. One line speaks fine through the whole text. Next batch of close captions no sound. Might go 1 or two with no sound then one or two with. It might go every other one.
All other sound is working fine.
Down for maintenance message again.
Could you announce this ahead of time in game like you do for builds, so we don’t waste our time going back to sell or buy.
Every tab in Trading Post contain only this message:
“ERROR: Invalid authorisation”
I’m getting this also, not sure what is causing it, but it is not timing out for me.
I have to completely close the client and log back in to fix it.
Just wondering if we could get a known issues sticky post.
It would be nice from a players stand point that a bug they reported is known part of it, and might cut back on post repeats.
You need to learn more about the elementalist before u post in a thread like this. Almost everything in your post is invalid.
You didn’t counter a single point he made. All you did was say I’m right you are wrong with no support. Really? Really? That is your response?
I’m not QQ’ing. I’d just like to be able to switch weapons quicker then having to open my inventory.
Do you mean same rules, no in combat swapping, but still having a swap button instead of opening the packs?
I don’t see an issue with that sort of change, since it really doesn’t change the function at all.
