I dont see why Anet should concentrate on either type of content, they’ve done plenty of permanent additions, and I personally enjoy the temporary content as it breaks up the monotony of the game. If they made it all permanent itd be boring.

I agree, especially if the party leader DC’s in the middle of a dungeon, you cant kick them to get someone else in and youll have to restart the whole dungeon
I agree with this. Anything adding to the guild aspect of this game would be awesome. My guild is the main reason I love playing this game.
I dont see how this would work since anyone can join an event you are in, how would the game decide whos scaling to favor?
I know this is to another game but I’ve always loved LOTRO’s emotes and thought GW2 sorely lacking in that department. Soooo many emotes!
I like this idea as well. Great for Anet and great for players.
What is the district system? is it like the overflow system? or is it more loading screens, I would be against more loading screens.
:) Why? people would still kill you, unless you are wanting that to come with immunity. Which is no fun, if you get routed then you deserve to be hunted down!
I love this idea, it reminds me of Age of Conan, one of the few good things they had in that game was the ability for guilds to build their own cities, it was a lot of fun watching it grow.
if you hold down the right mouse button you can strafe no problem, I dont think the combat is clunky at all.
I agree, I played LOTRO and they had a test server as well. I don’t see why not with Anets dedication to working with it’s playerbase.

Why are they closing all other threads which are located in the proper place (support) and redirecting them to a general forum post with no official response….
Why does it matter? they now have one thread to respond in and general is more looked at , so it makes sense.
I don’t mind being redirected to a single thread, but then they didn’t post in it with updates… :P
The best part is we were directed ‘out’ of tech support (belong?) to General?

Whats it about? I dont have time to read 6 months of posts, and I didnt play GW1, so who is Cantha?
Cantha is a continent to the south of Tyria… but really just read the OP and thats all you need to know, almost all the rest of the posts are to express support(with a few dissent) for what the OP was saying
I dont see how this game is being ignored, with the massive amounts of additions and fixes since launch. To be honest I prefer the slow drip of free content to the gigantic additions of a paid expansion. Now I believe expansions will still be a good idea for expanding the world and adding new classes/races etc.
Here is a great video by wooden potatoes detailing all the changes/updates/fixes etc… done since launch.
Just watched Wooden potatoes video on Cantha. I never played GW1 but I would be severely disappointed if it is never included. It would diminish the world for me. And as far as not wanting to have ‘themes’ to me Kryta is very much European themed. Just look at the construction/dress and armor worn by the guards.
It would in fact be less universal if Cantha was not included.

Im not a leader but I’m in PiNK one of the most organized and large guilds on TC. just message any PiNK you see in WvW and you always will find some :P and they will point you in the right direction
Yes I know people set up their own, my point is that those will always have a population problem some ppl CBA to seek em out. This way you can get more people to participate.
I would like to see some sub-forums for servers here. It’d foster a stronger sense of community, which I know you guys at A Net want.
And also would it be possible to make it that your account can only see the server youre on?
Thieves are so balanced that they are equally played as any other class….NOT! Every nub and his grandma is a thief. Every other class should not be forced to spec to take on a single class. Thieves keep saying its your gear, its your spec like we are ALL supposed to run out setups with only thieves in mind. Get serious. Your are so friggin op its rediculous and borderline ludicris.
Play a thief… they are not so easy to play.
Webley, I call bs, you were either not in the circle or, I dunno, not in the circle or are just flat out lying.
At the end of the day, I want to see skilled people playing Thief because it requires skill to play, not nubs who want to run around 1-2 shotting everything to death from stealth then running away in stealth from an angry hoard of players thinking they are skilled.
There is a huge difference.
I dont think nubs could do the stuff you say. it requires an intimate understanding of the class but then again, I could be wrong
Peetee, yeah thats what I am saying, they keep saying they have fixed it, but is it? I suggested in the suggestion forums that they just make stealth permanent and give crafters the ability to craft see invisibility potions/food to counter it, because if they can’t obviously fix such a trivial core part of a class, then it is broken.

Something we can agree on Tae. make stealth more permanent for a thief but counter with food/pots or a a way to detect a stealthed thief nearby
How about another idea. Make it so there’s a good chance of perceiving a thief who does not attack and is standing close to you. When I played LOTRO thats how it worked. That way it stops a thief from not attacking and avoiding the cooldown

It’s a good idea. maybe make it a PvP only recipe bought with honor? I dont think itd be that useful in PvE
Class is fine. You can either counter everything you complained about or other classes have skills that allow them to achieve the same end result. Stop being bad.

Here is a serious question, if you think perma stealth thieves killing players in 1 quick rotation of a couple skills is fine, or 1 player, again a perma stealth thief, can hold a large area capture point when 10 people are trying to cap is fine, then why has a large player base become thief? it’s because it’s OP.
Anyone caught defending thief in it’s current state should be reported for trolling.
Nobody is saying this! If its true that thieves can perma stealth while preventing a cap and also able to drop ppl in 1-2 seconds then yes, the class needs fixing. Just show me where its been proven and Ill agree with you.
They rolled a thief because it is a fun class.
A reveal stealth potion is a good idea though.
If someone claiming that a thief is dropping people in 1-2 seconds and not being a glass cannon, then I would agree with you. While I disagree now, i am not unreasonable and can be persuaded. But you must provide proof instead of just hearsay.

I could not find the update notes that said this, however… and don’t tell me to find the links, you’re the one claiming so you have the burden of proof not me. I’ve provided links to my arguments Tae.
Hyper- I did say if indeed the damage is extraordinarily high then ok, a net should fix that, I just said that the ability to do a large amount of damage is essential to the class. And ‘perma-stealthing’ as fare as I know, is not possible and if in fact I am wrong and it is not just a rendering issue then by all means it should be fixed
Ok give us a video of a thief killing a heavy in 2 seconds. and it cant be like a low lvl heavy obviously. You want to make great claims then prove it.

I think you should consider Tarnished Coast, not only does it have the best community it would be perfect for a thief themed guild, you could attract some who RP thieves but keep the guild ‘light’ rp. I cannot say enough at how amazingly organized TC WvWvW is and how consistent the server is. There hardly ever is fights in team chat and hardly ever a troll. It’s got the best community of any server I have ever played on.
I think it’s pretty easy. I’ll be releasing another video soon of picking off people in zergs. I’m wearing berzerker gear and it’s pretty hard to finish off a thief like this.
LOL thats great and as the OP can see, this guy was not ’perma’stealthed. maybe the rendering issue helped but that means they need to fix rendering not stealth. absolutely nothing was exploited, just a great thief using his class skills in the appropriate way.
If you nerf stealth, youll destroy the thief as a class… stealth is the very essence of the class. also doing large amounts of damage in a couple shots is also in the spirit of the class.
ill take your issues one at a time:
1. covered that already, it fits the class that they should be able to do that damage if they spec for it.
2+3. I dont see why this is much of a problem, thieves are still vulnerable to aoe and most ppl aoe corpses as a rule. not something that needs addressing really.
4. I don’t play sPvP so I wont speak on this.The thieve is not more powerful then any other class. they just happen to have annoying skills. and you’re only complaining mainly because you can’t see them. You could make a ‘case’ that any class needs ‘addressing’
You must be joking right?
1. No other class has the ability to smash someone in 2 seconds.
2. No one stands in a AoE while stealthed OR stands still while in stealth, the likely hood of hitting said playing in stealth is zero and I have used knock back frontal cone AoE on stealthed Thiefs and they don;t knock them back when using Finish Them! on a downed player, the played, gets killed.
Besides, this is not nerfing stealth, it is simply, balancing it. I expect this kind of response from every thief currently using these tactics to win.
Thiefs are just as dangerous out of stealth as any other class, put them in stealth and they become more then any other class could hope to be.
I do indeed play a thief but im only 44 so im not all that strong. But speaking from experience on your 2nd point. I do indeed get hit with aoe’s knockbacks etc.. while rezzing or finishing in stealth so idk what you’re talking about.. Also you’re exaggerating the 2 second thing. But maybe not. I won’t call you a liar. and maybe that could be toned down if that is indeed the case. but they should still be able to do large amounts of damage quickly. And please dont discount mine or any other persons opinion just because they play the class.
And stealth should not be touched. Only fix any exploit if there is one to be perma stealthed.

You should look at the forums a bit before posting something, this has been covered. and it isn’t like the thread was buried, its still active.
That being said. it is NOT game breaking. They are just using their class skill of stealth… you can still hurt them when they are in stealth they are not invulnerable… and it isnt like the capture circles are that big.
