I am currently leveling my Warrior level 78 in Orr. I noticed if I fight npcs where downscaling is NOT in affect, then I can slice through npcs like butter. However, where I am currently leveling in Orr, I am downscaled to level 75 and I find the difficulty doubled compared to leveling in a area where downscaling is not in affect. Just getting to the level appropriate zone is quite a challenge.
Has anyone noticed the same? Is downscaling not working as it should or maybe a little too good?
It would be nice to hyperlink the anet icon next to a post that has one or more replies from a dev to list all replies for that particular post. It would be like the current dev tracker, but for a single post.
Currently you need to click on every page just to find and read the reply which can be quite annoying for large posts. Or maybe even highlight the page on the pagination bar.

Orr is beautiful and I wish it was not so over populated with Risen. In a game where death is not to uncommon, it’s a pain when every single res point seems to be always contested.
It’s best to just stay in the lower level zones and actually enjoy the game…
After leveling a Ranger, Mesmer to 80 and with a level 76 Warrior, I still have not decided on a main. Maybe it’s just the feel of Orr, not sure to be honest, once I hit 80 I seem to lose interest in doing anything else. I think I have more fun hunting bots and recording / reporting the teleport bots mining low level gathers.
I have learnt ways to run through Orr now with the least amount of hassle so in that sense it’s ok. I only just wish you could go to a version of orr where everything is starting to become free of Zhaitans influence. It’s so depressing to have fought risen, killed zhaitan and Orr is still full of zombies?
I’d just like to experience some kind of time skip where we can see the future of a zombie free orr, with plant and animal life getting back to normal.
I would love to see this feature! Maybe even a Infinity Ball setup somewhere to open a portal to an alternate universe in the zone to come back to the pre-defeat of Zhaitan should you choose.
From all our characters, we already have access to a combined bank, trade post and gems, why not a wallet?
Its seems I can access everything from any character except for gold. It would be nice to open my inventory and see and access a combined amount of gold between all my characters.

I have to agree to a point. I am working on my 3rd 80 and I have yet to fully discover the level 70-80 zones. I wish these zones were thinned out just a bit, or at least a little breathing room between mobs.
I love the game regardless, but it sure would make my experience so much more enjoyable.
I liked this quest very much, it was a fresh break from the kill this, gather that quest. Stuff like this is entirely personal opinion.
I only really find this to be a problem for myself in the level 70-80 zones. It feels like every 5 steps you need to kill something. I really wish there were more open areas to run free and take in the wonderful artwork.

Bots run up and down hill. This hill has a very fast spawn time, groups of mobs spawn every 20 to 30 seconds.
If you have your UI on, taking a screenshot will capture their name. From there you can look at the screenshot, send a /w to it, then click on the name and choose Report. It’s more effort, but I’m more than happy to catch them any way I can.

Ya, I would not report anyone at a vista, I use these places to log out as well a lot of the time. It does look curious to see someone just zone it, watch the vista and zone out.
How are you guys reporting people who are using the teleport hack? I never was able to click on them long enough to report them, but out of curiosity I setup camp close to a node out of the way and turned on my recorder and sure enough within 5 to 10 minutes of watching my playback, I had my first teleport in, gather the node and poof gone again.
Funny thing, I did the same thing on a Vista and had a few teleport in and out there as well.
Thanks for the reply! Luckily I don’t pvp. I can tell you it’s a breath of fresh air leveling this warrior compared to leveling the other classes. I feel more like I am playing the game rather than the game playing me.
I have a level 80 Ranger and Mesmer and recently wanted to give a melee class a try. Since I already have a Guardian in the high level 40’s, I thought I’d give a Warrior a try. I am just amazed at how much damage I output! I have to say I am only level 14, but I am doing content 3 to 4 levels above mine because I steam roll level appropriate content.
My question, is it like this all the way up to level 80? I literally face smash the KB in PVE and stuff just dies. I already feel like I can do everything my other classes can do but 10x more efficient. I don’t think I’ll be able to solo champs with my Warrior like on my Mesmer, but I really am having a blast!

I am in the same boat. I purchased my son the game over the weekend and was very sad to find out he could not select blackgate so we could play together. I may transfer to his server, but I leave behind the friends and guild that I really enjoy.
It really ruined our game experience this weekend, more so for him since he was new to the game.
I see a lot of the changes being made to ‘balance’ the pvp experience. The problem I see is that these changes also have a large effect on the pve content and player.
When the developers decide to change a class, how much time if any is spent looking at the existing content to see if it’s still ‘balanced’ in pve? IMO it seems pve is more the afterthought of pvp.
Thoughts?

Some days ago you could purchase them from karma vendors for a measly 23 karma. The vendors change their purchasable items every week.
I was under the impression that items purchased with karma are account bound. Is this not the case?
Honestly, I think this should not be readily available. Having these types of services makes it to easy to sell accounts leveled by bots for real $.
i noticed the same “delay” summoning my phantasmal warlock. at first I thought it was network latency, but my normal clones were untouched by the delay.
+1 for not changing the portal. this is a wonderful utility skill in pve as well that brings much fun to the class. please do not punish the pve players for pvp QQ.
IMO, until the price of gems to gold becomes more inline with the current RLT market and due to the price of T1, T2 and T3 cultural armor, people are always going to take the risk to buy gold from these people. It’s just the nature of the beast.

A lot of attention to small details went into the design and presentation of the Asura race. I hate to say it, but a lot more so than the other races. But it’s this fine attention to detail and the personalities they portray that makes this class so fun to play.
The development team responsible for this race should be very proud!
Little people have little things! If I am 4 foot tall, I am not going to build a chair for someone who stands 6 feet.
In RL there is a custom built house for a little person not to far from where we live. It’s funny to see all these big houses and then a wee little house. But what we view as small is the perfect size for this person.
I would bet that what we see is a result of a quick patch to the TP and not the final resolution to the issue.
But, as soon as it is FIFO (if indeed that was the original intention) . Plan on seeing mass influx of buy and sell orders by the 1000’s. You think you have to wait long now, just wait…
Don’t get me wrong, I am saving very large amounts of crafting mats in case FIFO is implemented. As a high volume trader, FIFO is great for business. I just think it will hurt the little guy.

As much as I love working the TP, IMO it should not be FIFO, but rather in favor of a Round-Robin effect for same price items regardless of quantity. It would be to easy to place 5000+ items on the TP potentially locking up the price and forcing people to undercut.
I’ve been playing the TP for some time now and from what I have been able to speculate is that regardless of time the TP will always fill the lower quantities at the same price first. Then I see same quantity amounts moving through the TP in a LIFO.
Keep in mind that this is pure speculation on my part.

Are you using magic find boosters and if so, what is your boost %?
At level 62, I finally had the gold to buy the complete t2 set minus the boots. I did however choose the t2 set over the grandmaster training manual. Still working on the funds to buy the boots. TBH, half of that gold came from a lucky exotic weapon drop I was able to sell.
The only way I could ever see anyone buying these sets on level is to vendor everything without crafting. RMT companies look very inviting. Can’t wait for gem => gold prices to come up.
There was a lot of hype from anet in blogs and developer videos about how you can go back, redo content in lower level zones and how you would be rewarded equally not only in Karma and XP, but in level appropriate loot.
Was this something officially / unofficially changed? If I remember right, loot scaling was working great in beta.
I keep receiving tridents and spears of ogre slaying. I am level 56 and I’ve yet to see an ogre in the water? Is this a bug or a unfortunate random sigil?
For the love of Zhaitan, let me loot something I can actually use! Please, please change the loot drop mechanics to take into consideration your current profession and level.
When I am playing my ranger I get 90% heavy and when I am on my guardian, I loot 90% light. Times when I do loot the correct armor type, the level is 5 to 7 levels below my current level.
I can not even express how looting armor specifically for your current profession and level would make the “grind” so much more enjoyable. Outside of the loot drops, I am loving the game!

Hello and thanks for reading this post and any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been playing my ranger (currently level 46) and having a blast! But to be honest, I really never understood what stats are best for each of the traits.
I’ve been using power and precision armor and using + toughness and condition damage runes.
With consideration of my current build of beastmastery and survival, is their a more efficient stat priority I should be using?

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but it seems I no longer receive level appropriate loot? I am level 38 completing the lower level zones and my bags are filling up with level 10 – 13 gears. I thought one of the best playing points of this game is that it would reward you appropriate for your level regardless of where you are?
Is this no longer the case?
