Sometimes it makes me wonder why these kind of people choose to play an mmo. It’s like saying “I hate ferraris, so I bought one. why the hell does it look like a ferrari?”
Not everyone likes to run pick-up groups. Some people prefer to play with players they actually know and trust.
I fully support this petition. Pugs are fine, but we also should have the choice of running with pre-made groups. Although Jericho’s suggestion is pretty nice, there is more than one way of making that possible.

You are certainly not the only one.
The devs explanation is NOT correct.
It is not based on damage, it is based on who DESTROYS the gate. you get credit if you are the person to actually break the gate down.
This is obviously much more likely to occur with a ram, but you can easily test it as I did this morning. If I used a ram the entire time but stopped and didn’t get the final hit then no credit. If I sat on the ram and did no damage but then broke down the gate by correctly timing the final hit I got credit.
This seems to be the most likely explanation for this problem.

We would need 20 weeks to have an actually balanced season, but no one wants that. Still, 7 weeks seems like a random number.
The best option I can think would be a 4 week season.

NA T1 is most balanced tier in GW2 history, I’d hardly take it as a parameter for anything. Anyway, I play in this matchup, and I still hate the orb stats buff.
Art and level design teams carry this game.

A big portion of WvW players dislike some of these changes a lot, and that was made clear a long time ago. But unfortunately ANet doesn’t give a kitten about our opinion.
It’s a badly designed system. People with one character don’t care if it’s acc bound or not. And people with alts strongly believe it should be acc bound.
The variety of playing different alts is the reason a lot of us are still playing. Discouraging it is one more step for ANet to actively kill their own game.
The stat boost, while controversial, is there to give the buff meaning in the context of the general WvW battle. Providing boosts like %WXP, etc. don’t have impact in fights against other sides, they are just a nice bonus for you. The stat boost and the points for finishing players mean that not only do you want to have the buff, but you don’t want your opponents to have it.
A buff to siege damage would have the same effect, and there is also a multitude of other options that would make a valuable buff, but instead you picked a type of buff that is absolutely hated by a very good amount, if not most, of the PvPers in this game. Please, explain to us the thought process behind that decision.

No. That is not a possibility at this time. The point of the buff is to affect the WvW game mode as a whole disabling it on your character would lessen the value of the buff to a server and completely invalidate the whole point.
We do not want the buff, putting it in the game is a terrible idea to begin with. The points on stomp are more the enough to make the new ruins valuable. What we are asking here is to give the player an option to lessen the bad impacts this design choice of yours.

Please ANet, realize that a lot of players don’t like this kind of stat buff. At least make it optional.

If they got rid of every NPC outside spawn, I for one wouldn’t miss it.
I see a lot of bug exploiters crying, amazing.
The full charge sigil do nothing? 250 power! what else you want? infinite stacks?
The problem is not weapon swap, the problem is unequip that weapon, retain the sigil effect you are NOT using, and GAIN another sigil effect in that place.
Used to balance your build? guess what, player who dont exploit that bug balance their build without that 250 free stats points.
Anyone can do this? Yes. Anyone can hack too, right? The sigil is bugged, some players exploit it. That is the point, is not how the sigil must work, or balanced for.
That sigil is not underpower, you can chose between less but secured damage (5% fixed), or more damage but with the risk you can lose it. Is fair. But who exploit that bug use “250 from stack + 5% fixed + another if offhand” to burst down enemies.
Why would that be a bug? Just because it works in a way you don’t like? No where in the description is implied that you lose the stacks when you change weapons. It’s just a game mechanic, and a good one at that. One the rewards people for not dieing every 2 seconds.

In a game where death has almost no repercussion, the stacking sigils add at least a little motivation to avoid it. I see no problems with these sigils at all. There are a lot of broken things to fix, that is not one of them.

Matchups I have won tend to be the most boring ones for me (too few enemies, too many allies). It’s a pity ANet didn’t make a score system that had any merit to winning.

TC/CD/FA got 51 replies atmBUT we only got 33 replies atm.
common people wake the kitten up. How can T1 forum warriors lose to Tier-whatever warriors. seriously losing on the reset night is pathetic. T1 is the kitten and the forum should be the kitten as well.

GvG destroys WvW and breaks up the forces needed to fight.. Not only because 20v20 that’s an equal number so not much harm done. But the spectators are making the server gets queue’s everywhere!
Please GvG people find another game for this type of playstyle, I like WvW how it is and do not want to wait in line because people want to play another type of gameplay what was not intented.
And PS. the spamming GVG GVG, GvG , GvG GVG!!!!!! Yesterday in the livestream from WvW said enough about the age of your so called ‘GvG Community’
The fact that you are telling people to quit, just because they enjoy the game in a different way that you do, tells a lot about you as well.
I’ll post this here as well:
WvW is a game type that we believe very strongly in. We’ve seen that people have been organizing their own combat in WvW and that’s really cool, but WvW requires changes that are not always in step with the gameplay that has been emerging. Our focus is on making WvW as strong as it can be and we will continue to make changes with that in mind. We have been and will continue to discuss these open field battles, but in the meantime the changes we make to WvW will always have that game type first and foremost in mind.
WvW does not require any kind of stat boost, this actually takes away from the game. We want to win fights because we are outplaying our opponents, not because we have a silly stat advantage. That goes way beyond just GvGs, it’s just the merit and the thrill of a good PvP.
This buff would work way better if it gave a strategic advantage, something like extra defense or damage to your siege, supply capacity, speed to your dolyaks or workers, free golems. Or you could just do something simple as giving us some extra loot or gold. It could even be just an extra source of ppt. There are really endless possibilities for that kind of buff. Yet, out of everything it could be, you guys are choosing to bring back a buff that everyone used to hate. One that will kill, or at least cripple, a game mode created by the players and loved by them. I hope this is not true, I really do, but I’m beginning to lose faith.

Thank you for taking a look into the GvG scene thread, you are the first to recognize our existence, I appreciate it. The reason GvG was being spammed all over is just because everyone before you simply ignores us.
I understand it’s really childish and the stream was not about GvG so our questions were out of place, I apologize, but is there any chance we will get an official reply if “Guild vs Guild” is something Anet is thinking about, considering at all?
I’m not on the design team, so I cannot reply for them. That being said, I can make note of it in my feedback reports.
We know Twitch chat doesn’t make it easy for everyone to be heard. And we know that it can seem that no one is watching these threads. The great thing is that for every respectful and constructive post & thread, it DOES get greater visibility.

All we want is a real response. Do you plan on officially supporting GvG? Yes or no? One word. That’s all we want.

Thanks for that! Yes, we do ask that folks stay on topic to the theme of the Livestream. We don’t want to discourage questions, but our team was moderating the folks spamming “GvG” over and over, which made us miss some great questions incoming about WvW.
GvG is currently a big part of the WvW meta, and also the reason a lot of WvW guilds are still running. Three letters is enough to get our point across, it’s not like the devs don’t know what we are talking about.

We also have bigger stuff to whine about.
You need at least lvl230 to be on par with everyone else stat-wise in WvW. That wouldn’t be a problem if the levels were account based. But adding this grind, then selling boosters, it’s abusing. ANet is doing one misstep after the next.
I would consider buying the booster, but only if the levels were account bond of course..
I used to trust him, but he lost me when he told that the orb buff is coming back.
This system should have been account based since the beginning because of all the obvious reasons that have already been stated countless times. The fact that ANet is ignoring player feedback on that issue is quite disconcerting.

So, in regards to GvG and openfield, I don’t see a lot of “rampant speculation” going on. If nothing else, you chose your words poorly. The complaints about this new system potentially killing the GvG scene is entirely grounded.
This forum and this topic in particular are about WvW. WvW is about sieging and controlling objectives and about open field combat. All our changes are with that totality in mind and will continue to be.
WvW is about what players want it to be. Different people play WvW for different reasons. There is not only sieging and open field combat. There is GvG, roaming, fight clubs, duels, balla ball, ZvZ, dolyak parades, karma trains, commander rollete, etc.
If you want to make the ppt game more interesting, do it! But you don’t need to kill GvGs to make it so. Give the ppt people buffs that will help their game, supply capacity and siege weapon damage were just two things I said out of the top of my head, I’m sure a professional dev team can come up with more stuff.
Don’t kill the things that make people enjoy your game.

Seems like everything is working out fine in this thread today.
The guy got killed by a d(s)/d ele, and came here to complain about it. Pretty simple.
Please don’t do stats-buff again, they only take away from the merit of fighting and crushing your enemy. From the moment you start winning because you have x% more stats, and not because you are out-playing the enemy, the game becomes so much duller.
Make the buff be a strategic advantage such as:
-All sieges on the map do x% more damage against doors and gates.
-Supply capacity increase.
-Ability to build a special type of siege.

But the best advice I could give is to never trust forum advices.
TW had three recent gvgs: TW 3 × 2 RE; TW 3 × 0 TSL; TW 3 × 0 OnS. The only reason we didn’t do more is because how hard it is to find someone willing to fight us. For that, I have to give my best regards to RE, TSL, and OnS. They did what many are afraid to, much respect.
As to why we lost 2 rounds against RE, I could give a lot of excuses: we were out of shape, we underestimated them, we work better at x20, etc etc. But none of them are good reasons. The reason is that GvG is not a powerlevel type of thing in which who has the biggest kitten will always win all rounds against anyone. There are strats and counters, and counters to counters. RE did some smart plays and got 2 rounds out of us.
