there is a good reason why Heavy armor is only for Heavy armor users, their ranged weapon SUCK. try being a Warrior or a Guardian and hit someone in top of a wall in WvW with a ranged weapon.
lol people can afk while we shoot them and they still wont die thats how weak they are. People who need to go into the fray get HA, people who are not even suposed to get hit get less armor.
Thats how WvW work, i don´t care about PVE they can give ranged classes super heavy armor with 1000 defenses, if thats what they want. It doesnt seem enough that mages are able to get more toughness and hp than a guardian could ever dream of, but they might want more
like come on, account wide wvw xp? non soulbound 1000+ hours to get items… all this where suggestions we have given them for years thousands and thousands of time. And the worse part is how they narrate it on the patch info…
like “we want players to have their awesome legendaries among all their alt” COME ON if you really wanted it, then it would have being like that since the begining.
It doesnt take much common sense to understand some people spend 5000 hours on w v w and have 5 alts they play who are not benefited by the bonus because the system was flawed.
Instead of saying “we want” “we feel” “it will be awesome when” the real statement “we have found out our previous system was so flawed for so long that it was about time we make this fixes”
burn might be “viable” if instead of stacking duration it would stack, the stack cap could be even 2 stacks, and it would need people to use 2 condition removal sources to remove burning completely.
i know it might be asking to much, but the thruth is as it is right now burn in pvp = GARBAGE atleast psn reduces healing, but burn is just to easy to remove and the damage is pathetic.
if you have X dmg Y critchance and Z crit dmg being X 100 y 100% and z 250%(150base+100% crit dmg)
you would be doing 250 damage every hit, if they nerf crit dmg by 10% then
X=100; Y=100; Z=240 then you would be doing 240
250 to 240 is a 4% nerf so in order to get an actual 10% damage reduction output they would need to nerf crit dmg by atleast 2.5 times my calculations, which would be insane… So that 10% damage output they stated on the video has to be crit dmg reduction total otherwise it doesnt make sense…
16 ferocity = 1 crit dmg make sense, 100 ferocity would be 6.25 crit dmg lol thats like a kitten ton of stats lost from the traits maybe they will pitty us and make it 15 ferocity = 1 crit dmg, no matter what case it is,
IF celestial stats state the same amount of power/healing power….. as ferocity, then celestial is DEAD
All we know for sure is
a. Ferocity will replace crit dmg
b. ferocity overall will represent 10% less effective damage overall in critical damage (as mentioned in the video)
c. ferocity is going to have the exact same number as the minor stat for berserker(same as precision)
First of all a 10% less effective damage as mentioned in the video could mean different things, lets just take the scenario which instead of X% crit damage we have now, we will have 0.9X% which doesnt need to be true because to get 10% less OVERALL damage we would need to lower crit damage alot more since it is not the only affix that affects overall damage (power and precision also affect it)
right now we got 6 pieces of armor 1 weapon 5 accesories and 1 back slot, for full exotic zerker that would be:
672 minor stat and 48% critical damage
now we need to get the ratio in which ferosity converts to critical damage, in my
calculation this ratio was over 16
672 ferocity from the overall set would be (672/16)= 42%crit dmg which is about 88% of the previous value (48%)
So 16 ferocity = 1% critical damage
Everything seems fine right now, berserker got nerfed as it was planned but lets see how this affects celestial gear.
Celestial gear by rule has 5/8 of the minor stat any other armor has (feel free to do the calculation yourself or check the wiki)

(16.19/28) crit damage represent 57.8%
this means celestial crit damage is getting nerfed a 42.2% not 10 or 20 percent like other people think, Do you think Anet is going to have celestial gear with

… 34 ferocity?
Because if they don´t we are going to have to say bye bye to all celestial gear, it wasn´t that good before and now it will be complete trash if the changes go like they plan.

The last thing I need is for the Guardian to be too strong. However, I just want some variety and usage out of more of these traits. Some require you to be rezzed/kill to refresh a virtue, others have large icd’s with a very small benefit attached.
i don´t know how strong is the guardian actually, i don´t know what class you play but if my guardian tried to chase u to the end of the world, i would have 0 chances of keeping you in auto atack range, 1 dodge roll forward makes an enemy already out of auto atack range.
so the guardian strenght is relative, GW2 gave classes completely different types of strenght, But the problem this forum has to deal with is the little diversity when playing 1 class with different traits.
For example i once tried to kill a tanky warrior using healing signet, the one that give ton of passive regen, since he had lots of toughness it was imposible for me to deal more dmg than he regen.
I decided to go full crit 100% crit chance, full zerker Scholar gear with max critical dmg, and guess what? exactly the same thing happened, i wasn´t able to deal dmg and the guy was only running and shouting.
Other classes can kill this build with lets say poison, and conditions that pierce trough toughness, guardians can´t, there is no build allow them to do this, this is the flexibility i feel gw2 lacks.
give everyone a 1 minute cooldown 3 second stealth detection, give all classes the chance to spec against threats, even if it means sacrificing power and utility.

Some of the other traits might be used by someone, as an example having burning damage on spirit weapon hit, kinda double the dps (which is lame anyways) so i went for the ones im sure are useless both PVE and PVP.
Guardian is my main ive seen other classes but ive never theorycrafted deeply enough to give a list with anything else but my own opinion, which isn´t fair.
Omg so im not the only one who thinks this is op, i switched to full zerk spec using my guardian with scepter hitting a warrior with this signet on and he was regaining health faster than i could dmg him.
BTW if you see someone who says it is not OP, it is PERFECT, we need the other healing skills to be as good as this one… then he is trolling (or play a warrior main).
Ok before this signet buff, warrior where poop on pvp we all lived that… This was an easy way out for Anet not having to rework the whole warrior.
i would like to point out some traits that are completely useless, not chosen on any rational build, i main guardian so ill want to point out the ones im aware off, i know there will be trolls saying ALL of this are GREAT traits… but lets face it there is allways people lurking on forums to do that.

12 Gain condition damage based on your power. our only condition dmg is a burn, there are condition builds for guardian on pvp (pve it just sucks never seen 1 using it) the burning from the guardian is neglectible if an enemy has a single debuff removing skill, this trait isn´t useless but come on is the XII they should move it to tier -3 and people would still not use it

(never seen anyone using this because it doesn´t do what it says, you can use “heal skills” but it only counts for your main healing skill which is 30/32/40 seconds depending on traits)

wait this one actually does something, but why does the thief “remove condition at set time intervals” while stealth start from 0, as soon as you go stealth it already start with 1 condition remove instead of having to wait the same interval, might need a rework but deffinetly something useful (for some).
I think Anet has the statistic of people using traits, why not rework those that are completely useless and noone has ever used, why people have to bring up this topics. There are some classes like rangers that have practically a whole line of useless traits.
This game has broken mechanics that don´t allow pvp to be more complex than holding out a zone.
1. you will never catch up a Warrior/thief/mesmer/tanky guardian/ranger/engineer/Ele with fire sword (poor necros QQ) who doesn´t want to fight, there is no cc in GW2 world or catch up mechanism that allow you to force someone into fighting, for this reason a deathmatch is IMPOSIBLE.
2. stealth mechanic is broken, i know many will differ, but in WvW and Spvp they had to make a system where such a strong skill that provide complete invulnerability(if you have half a brain when you use it) for long periods of time, no room to even have an impact on the result of the matches.
People roam with thieves and mesmers, thinking they are GODS of skirmirsh and small man combat, its not because they are good, the game itself is flawed and gave them more power in this matter, because it has 0 effect on the matches in both WvW and Spvp.
3. Capture the flag? like come on, if guardians or necro tried to catch a thief with a 50% movement debuff rofl they woudnt even be able to catch them, or a nike warrior.
Many will differ about this tough, but having you to regain 100% of your health when out of combat, added to the fact that you have short cooldown+ high healing yourself capability, has made this game a “fight only if you look for honor”. Noone in this game has to fight if they dont want to, (except for necro and bow bow rangers) and classes like guardians and necros have no way of catching up with someone who doesnt want to fight.
So spect more “zone capture” maps on Spvp and WvW coming soon, because that is all you will ever get.
Imagine if GW2 have some sort of Moba, it would be imposible, backdoors all day and imposible to stop
I understand some like the moneys, and other need their dragonite ores… But come on its being a year since ive faced challenging or “fun” pve content in this game.
I enjoy SAB and WvW till some extent, but doing the same dungeons over and over for the same crappy rewards, waiting months to see a Xmass event, just to find out everything is a copy paste from last year.
PvP is challenging and social, even if you like to run dungeons, are you suposed to have only 4 friends? because even if you run dungeons all day you can only invite this amount of people.
Im not bashing anyone here, if you manage to enjoy the pve content I envy you, people work hard for doing Arah solo runs or lvl 49 fractal, which arent not just boring but also unrewarding, why not give this people an award, instead of giving out shiny stars for completing the crappy world completion which isn´t challenging, just boring.
Ive had many fights with RIOT members, and there is many things they know and most of noobs wandering in WvW don´t
1. Fights are decided on who balance their hp effectively. What do i mean with this?
your hp must fluctuate from 100 to atleast 1% without dropping and being capable of recovering it is crucial.
1.a this means if you have absolutely no heal atribute, there is no way for most classes to have an hp recovery rate higher than the rate that its droping.
1.b you need to know how much damage you can take and how much the skills you have available can heal you. fighting is not a matter of who dies first in GW2
2. when you are fighting a handicap match there is a psychological aspect within all of us that say “you must chase” when you are in the higher number side. you must ignore it. playing 2vs1 is completely different to fighting 1 vs 1. I have lost fights against people on a number handicap and then beat them 5 consecutive times 1vs1. It is psychological and it affects everyone of us.
3. engi granades are the easiest thing to avoid. only thing you have to do is NEVER strife or move backwards, your movement speed wont be enough to dodge any decent engi using them.
4. engi ulti is a full heal, stun, root in place skill. When you see an engi using this move away and take the fight somewhere else, WvW is not Spvp you don´t have to die holding a point, even supply camps are big enough to allow this.
5. You need to think very very very well before ressing someone against some classes, being a sitting duck against for example a thief can get you killd from 20k hp to 0 in less than 5 seconds, im not sure the exact number against an engi but against my guardian if you have more than 7k hp left go ahead and rez i wont be able to kill you.
6. and this is what i hate the most of GW2, if your build is half decent and your skills arent in cooldown, you can run away from any fight. This is the diference between spvp and WvW.
7. I end here with something im sure many RIOT might now but the perfect fight is actually a never ending one, both fight for 30minutes without any of them being able to kill each other. Not because the builds are uber tanky and no dmg, but because the hp flow of both parts never allow them to drop.
yea i don´t mind RNG, i have all the items i could posibly want.
The issue here in my opinion is that the upcoming patches are bringing higher and higher stakes gambling. to the point i wouldnt be surprised if a loto type of item sudenly came to the cashop, with the chances of 1/10000, awarding the lucky guy with a 1000 gold+ woth item.
This is just a few steps ahead from what they are doing. But yea lets not complain about it, anyways when the game get to that point ill quit and probably head to a casino, because when gambling in an online game even when you win you lose.
I can’t even imagine how you’d think these real life issues aren’t relevant to game design (or the design of any program for that matter).

if you make a game, make sure you have extremely low graphics and effect option feature, even people with super PCs and internet sometime just feel that watching the sparks, rainbows and unicorns along with all shiny colors are not worth having 10 FPS.
This isn´t that hard, they now have models with crapy graphics to prevent culling, they would need to rework all skill effects and make versions with less animations.
Ascended ring RNG was bad….infact was fixed.
Fotm skins is aetethic RNG.
AKA horizontal progression….something that Always existed.Once was for precursor and rare skins…many exotic skins you could drop, went for 20+ golds.
Also some armorskin were really expensive….
Not to mention Minis and stuff.
SKIN RNG is fine for me…..TIER RNG is not.
which way of RNG is acceptable depends on opinion, the fact is that when GW2 came out RNG was not impactfull, anything you wanted you could farm your way to it.
The rewards from accomplishing something where set and given, 1000 people went to a dungeon, all of them get tokens, 5% maybe an exotic, 20% get a 1-3 extra rares.
now you see 1000 people kill a boss, 99% get garbage and 1% get a genesis or some bs that inject them unfair amount of gold.
If you think about it every new content that comes have a even sicker amount of RNG, since autherized weapon going trough SAB and now Tequatl.
The only one that i agree that could be in fact Account bound is the Legendary and event gear. Every other gear, should be Character Bound.
thats kinda elitist, i do agree that WvW ranks already killd any posibility of having a couple of viable characters, that thing should be account shared wise.
But why would a legendary be account bound or even an event gear, so basically if you wear heavy armor or you have a GS you get encouraged to play only the classes who can use them.
For those who remember GW2 on its first month, people would farm for hours, doing dungeons or cursed shore events. If a party of 6 ended up with the same loot at the end of the day, where everyone was doing the exact same thing.
Even if you where lucky and get an exotic, they where just 5-10 rare worth, and in the worst case scenario you get a precursor that used to be 50-60 gold (after 2000 hours i still haven´t seen 1 drop for me). But you could farm enough to buy yourself a precursor.
Dungeons gave people with the same rewards, there was no fractal BS roll on who get ascended ring/ ascended weap/fractal skin.
I used to think this made the game great, for the first time i was able to see that no lucky guy could have 1 single drop on a random day that worth more than the accounts of half the population of this game.
Well i don´t like gambling in games, if i had to choose between farming a dungeon 10 times to get my gear done, or get a 1/10 chance reward everytime i beat it, i know which one i would pick.
Now before people complain about this happening only on isolated cases i would give some examples:
- fractal rings
-fractal skins
-ascended weapons
-tequatl rewards
-champion rewards (lvl 10 people killing champs on queensdale and getting a genesis roflmao)
-autherized weapon skins
-SAB auction-able skins
Bleh when i was VERY lucky on a dungeon best i got was a Charged Lodestone over anyone else in my party.
So many ignorant posts,
- zerker guardians using scepter do out dps warriors on the long run.
(45+ sec of hiting the same target, the guardian will have done more damage) (if its a race to see who deals the most damage in 10 second then the warrior would win because thats how their skills work)
-the only higher dmg dealer for a teq fight above a pvt guardian is a ele who pops conjured weapons and if the guardian picks up the conjured weapon to, then the guardian outdps the ele by far. (guardian have damage increase of 20%on aegis 10% on scepter 10% on foe who has condition, all this on a weapon who cast 1 auto atack and an instant 15 hit that does 6+ times the auto atack )
-There is so much hate from people toward guardian, like calling AH a selfish build, i can only think of single digit IQs thinking that a trait like this doesn´t encourage the guardian to apply boons to the party.
And back to the op topic, a guardian only game would suck, and patches come and go nerfing what they don´t find to fit on how they want this game. Aslong as turbo noob parties asking for 4 warrior and 1 mesmer exist, i would not be so worried about guardians getting nerfed anytime soon.

best thing ever happened to me was 12+ hours farming subject 7 and dead eye
made 300 gold+
rng wasnt so bad from 8-12 silver per bag i was getting 10-11 most of the time
well rough damage isnt better, as a guardian who keep up protection buff 80%+ of the time, even zerker builds do 500dmg a hit 800 on crit but well toughness doesn´t help to mitigate condition, and if they guy using conditions have 40% inc food then yea they do alot more than the 500- 800 zerking guy.
how i see it conditions where spected to work for
a. PVP
b. single player grinding
but never spected to work for dungeons, lol 25 bleed cap? imagine having a party with 5 condition users, they would take years to complete a fractal
fighting as a guardian and against guardians but we both do the same visual effect when using symbols, it would be good if the enemy could have a different color so we could know if its friendly or not.
Its not asking much since this is already done for most other effects
The pvp in this game is flawed in 1 very important aspect, any class who is decently spec´d can outrun any other single enemy, you don´t have to fight anyone if you just run away. If you want to kill someone, that person has to be willing to stay for you to kill him. In top of that they even included the senseless mechanic of recovering hp when out of combat.
So basically the only posible PvP this game can have is “capture the points” system, since they don´t give us enough chase mechanisms, while other games provide players with many leaps into the fray but less leaps to get out of it.
Im sure many of us would love to see other kind of PvP like deathmatch or king of the hill or even GvG but the truth is that game mechanics would not allow this to be balanced, like come on this game allow thieves to perma stealth with some builds, without taking any of their mobility. Just the fact of having this guys would make PvP annoyin.
O and the condition problem, you can build toughness to counter direct damage, but there is no way to counter conditions gear wise but using melandru´s. So they did a huge flaw that is going to stay. You can see this flaw huge impact, when you notice that in 1 year they have not decided to increase the cap of conditions a target can have.
all those people calling BS and saying stupid things as ecto rate is the same as before and you can get atleast 1 ecto for each rare go spend all your gold buying rares they are 24 silver cheapest lvl 80 ones and go sell ectos for 32 silver.
1 of 2 posibilities, iether you Win and hence repeat the process to end up with infinite amount of gold, or you realize that rare prices drop for a good reason.
ecto savage rate didnt decreased at teq patch, it decreased since level 500 weapon/huntsman/artificer patch
People don´t know statistics yet they use them on as an argument for their posts.
There was a time where ectos worth 30+ silver and rares where 28+ silver each. this lasted for months. If the rate haven´t change on savaging then why would ectos worth 32+ silver and rares went down to 25. (OMG this sample is as big as 10000+ rares) I guess people who know nothing about how the actual statistic studies are made would say i need to buy the rare and savage it myself.
The decrease on ecto savage rate is a FACT even if people don´t want to accept it, but for those who already did, start thinking on the reason behind this change. Rares are more common since magic find increase was allowed.
If you allow people to reach their maximum gold potential they will be able to buy anything they wanted on the game. This is the reason why i have quited most of my previous game. You must have a goal if you want to keep playing this game, and since there is no actual ingame goal as Being top tier PvPer, Best WvW server, Complete all the Pve content, (noone of this feel rewarding )
The only thing left is to hoard large amount of currency I would say more than 2/3 of people who play GW2 daily only care about this. So Anet just want to make it harder.
yo probably didn´t knew this but the condition duration reduction food works inversly to duration, if a skill effect is 2 seconds and you get somehow 100% condition duration, the effect will be 4 seconds. having the food that reduce condition duration by 40% would make this 4 second effect to last 2.5 seconds instead.
Condition duration reduction is twice as effective as your so called OP food that boost 420 stats.
lets say you put them on the same ground, 1 guy has 40% inc condition and the other one has 40% reduction, a 2 second effect would be boosted to 2.8 and then brought down to 1.68 which the game brought to the closest quarter that is 1.75
for this reason this food worth 18+ silver. And most people try to use a similar one cause this has obviously a better effect
I speak in the name of every single tier 1 world vs world player, we are so kitten tired of this lag spikes, warping players, skill lag , skill delay, skills don´t come off. Many of us have played games where they had more amount of people using skills with shorter cooldown and going 100x times smoother than GW2.
This was not a FTP game if you have money to pay the developers on the making of new contents, you could adress this problem that has being for 1 year.
It was only during the reset nights on fridays where the lag was at its worst, but right now it is every night, and keep getting uglier on every single patch that comes after.
Oh and everything is server side, third world countries, EU playing on NA servers, australians, even NA playing in NA servers have the same lag issues. So pls don´t come up with the excuse that we need to improve our internet services or buy new computers.
If you can´t handle 100+100+100 people using their skills on one map then why da kitten is this the the player cap for a world vs world map, and this is not even the case, if 60vs 60 ocurs on a map, players on the remaining server(who are even outside the fight but in the same map) can still feel the skill lag.
Im pritty sure WvW maps are handled completely different from other maps, since you have to bring people from 3 different servers, but putting us in a lower performance/lower budget maps is just pathetic.
If this continue people who play only for WvW are going to quit this game, it just get to the point when it is depressing rather than fun to play part of the game. Anet you don´t even need to invest money to fix this problem, wathever is causing it just reduce it. Reduce the number of players allowed per map, give the “going in 1 map zerg” handicaps to encourage big fights.
But keep this lag on WvW and you will have many people quiting this game.
i suggest we also add profesions as carpenteer like the ones we had in hello kitty online so we can also craft our own furniture. (yea right like this was ever going to happen, why have a guild house system where there isn´t even a guild vs guild pvp or pve competition one)

i agree with the op, this is the reason i play guardian, the single best utility skill in the game in my opinion is stand your ground, (for world vs world atleast)
gives stability+
its instant+
can be reduced by 20% cd +
it breaks stun+
it gives the boon aoe to allies
if it wasn´t enough it also gives retaliation.
every guardian on w v w use this skill, personally i don´t think it is overpowered because the duration is short but i think every class diserve to have an “oh kitten get me off the stun lock”
people who play pve or spvp don´t find it as useful because mobs or 8 guys can´t have unlimited source of CC, but 30-80 zergs in w v w do
how the wood and the oricalcum have increased u might get some profit even using mystic savage kit on those 80 drops
Tribulation mode skins are not the best looking weapons, nor have best effect or graphics, but beside fractal weapons, this are the only skins that represent you have done something, and that can´t be bought.
not many things compare to having this weapons and it sux that people who have legendary can´t skin them.

there is hope, the system as it is, we could have achievement point separate on each character to, and people would be saying the same thing.

personally i think wvw is the place where you can interact with the largest amount of people at the same time, the game aspects in this place are terrible, i mean capturing 4 walls while killing a weak boss and standing in a circle.
But The human factor if you are in teamspeak makes it fun, while ANet for some reason keept max number of player in a dungeon as five killd any aspect of social interaction for this game, and WvW is the only place left to go.
Its nice that GW2 was the first game to decide it was important to remove magic find, im pritty sure other games will follow.
But there is a problem with World vs World experience, it is very hard to get and many of us have being farming it for months, this exact same thing happen with paragon levels, and now blizz decide that paragon levels should be acount wise.
The advantage there is on WvW levels is that the progresion is linear, 5000 xp is the same from level 3 to 4 as it is 100 to 101, so they could even add up all the character levels and use it as a new level acount wise, or even share the max level in your account.
Many people complain about ascended gear not being shared by your whole acount, but that is not actually a problem, you can buy gems, exchange for gold, and buy all the ascended gear you want, probably will take 1 week more since the new crafting system only allow 1 craft a day but that is nothing compared to the hundredths of hours needed in order to get high wvw level.
omg pls i would be so happy if the only ascended gear that comes out is berserker, over 50%+ of wvw noobs are using this and get crushed like ants, if they brought up just zerker then everyone would be so easy to kill.
BTW why would they bring some types of armors instead of others, don´t do the shiet you did with valk trinkets, they should actually make them easier to craft and cheaper since they aren´t as popular
if it last 10 second then give them 10 sec internal coldown, every other rune work that way, and i don´t know what gw2 actually consider an interrupt cause i was just running without even casting a single auto atack and a engi got me 20 confusion stacks on…

as the topic says im asking when is this runes actually geting internal cooldown, notice im not trying to debate if iether is op or bad, necesary to have it or not, i just wana know when this is happening to see if they are worth buying.
pls don´t make posts about this rune set being weak and that it doesn´t need an internal cooldown cause that is not what the thread is about
ive played a guardian for 1 year, i got 8 different armor sets and used all posible trait combinations, 30 different weapons, and i can´t see any posible way of a guardian beating a 1vs1 specd mesmer (no skills on cd).
that is not even mentioning the fact they rarely use MOA and even if you remotely have a chance of beating them, there is no way for a guardian to catch them if they decide to run away.
Ive used zerker whole gear and full dmg traits, yet it takes atleast 2-3 crit with staff to kill 1 clone. And the worse part is that clone shatter isn´t stupid like other skills, if you dodge roll it, clones just wait for you to get out of dodge roll and then explode. -.- atleast when im the one doing the dodge rolls.
guardians can beat most of glass cannon classes if they use retalation correctly, but mesmers aren´t even affected by this.
In the other hand mesmers have very long CD and the game isn´t just 1 vs 1 so its ok if some classes outshine others on certain conditions.
so what if some people have kitten ton amount of gold stacked and nowhere in this game to spend it? buying this that would save them 5 spaces on bag and 15 seconds a day of restocking + 30seconds of having to actually look up for them in your bag when it is a mess.
PLS tell me were else to waste gold in this game, there are not many other options
as a guardian i can tell you that staff might be somehow ranged but you can´t even hit stuff 3 inches above your horizontal plane, and the dps is low. people who use staff on pvp is to tag targets in order to recieve loot from them. it is not an effective mechanism of killing anything with intelligence. And the 4# 5# does no dmg we can´t nuke anything, we just poke things until they get tired or rarely die.
In pve i would say yea it is quite good, monsters are idiotic beings who don´t heal or move to higher ground and being able to hit 5 target at the same time makes up for the low atack speed dps and lack of dmg of higher CD skills

If you only use the cookie cutter AH build (0/0/30/30/10) you’re not playing Guardian correctly.
idk who you think you are to say how a class can be played correctly, many people use what you call cookie cutter and not for that reason they play it incorrectly pls make statements as what you like or dislike, agree or disagree, but saying something is correct or incorrect makes you look foolish because there are people here who know more about guardians than you will ever do and yet they don´t go out there telling other what is the “correct” way of playing them.

It’s not up for discussion, if you only play one build and nothing else you’re doing it wrong.
lol common sense is beating you here, as stated you are not good enough to decide how to play something “right”, anyways it seems like you got some issues with cookie cutter builds, maybe they beat you up in the past and now you hate them or something?

there are different builds for every class, but regarding to guardian if you go glass, you are still a support, if you go tanky, your skills still do support, if you go virtually any posible build your skills will still support.
and AH is different to what happens in other classes, where you can give up the best trait in order to perform another role, but for guardian AH will enable you to stay alive and full hp in most of situations.
I don´t see any comparison in mesmers traits, many people play and spec them completely different for the role they want and not a single trait is mandatory.
somehow like i predicted i dig out everysingle guardian who doesnt use AH into this thread, which is like 5 out of the whole GW2 population. But yea this 5 guys do stuff like ARAH or FOTM, where a well timed dodge roll or a wall of reflection is all that takes to beat them. Like i said people who fight enemies with “intelligence” use AH, but someone made a valid point, on pvp certain situations u will be facing 1 vs 1, and AH wont be the best option here.
So yea if you like to solo AH will pritty much heal you for a very good amount still but it stops being mandatory.
