I think having a tutorial mode for pug/individual player to run through raid, explain mechanics and can practice over and over again till you feel good enough to join an actual raid will be helpful. Nowadays if you dont have enough kind guildies/friends to drag you through and explain everything to you, the only way you can learn raid is watching videos and guide, but just with knowledge ppl will not be able to perform well the 1st few times they try it, so they get kicked, trashed talked, or fail the raid too many times then get discouraged from doing raid again. I dont think raid is actually hard by any means if given time of practise, but majority of the player base simply is not confident enough to try the raid the first place because it is advertised to target “hardcore” player base, needs “skill” and such… an easy mode with lesser reward like mention in the post above similar to fractal 1-25 aiming to teach new player base is also good.

The wording on the change scares me. ‘When struck’?
The when struck made it completely useless for me
being hit once per second alone kinda guarantees that I’ll be under 75% percent life in no time anyways… I really don’t see usage on this trait anymore, unless it removes the condition you where hit with right away. … triggers on AOE condi wells? … this change also guarantees that covered condis will be indeed covered.
Yea, when struck makes it totally not worth taking, hitting an opponent would be much better.
Solar beam damage display disappears after you move your camera completely away from the target and move back while attacking, in combat log it shows you still doing the damage, but it doesnt show on screen, after a dodge or pet switch the damage display will be back to normal.

fallen masks / shooting gallery if Anet want to introduce us to their new camera system by forcing us participate in those adventures, I would say they failed, most ppl would not have a good image of it after the horrible experience in those adventures.

We had a fix go through internally on this on monday scheduled for the 12/15 release, but it was a partial fix and the tester failed it back to be looked at again by the developer, because well… partial fixes kinda suck just as much as not-fixed.
TY for the update, even a update on a failed fix attempt is much better than complete silence on the forum.
Well, the reddit post did bring up some hope, but considering how many game breaking bugs are here with the expansion now, I wouldnt expect to see a fix any time soon…and I do think devs needs permission to post anything on the official forum while post on reddit may have less restrictions for them thats why we see more devs post on reddit then here.
Devs were active on the forum cuz the PR team/higher ups told them to and give them permission to talk with us on the forum, in order to create a image that will make potential buyers have confidence in the expansion, now they got all the money, who gives a fauk. Just wait for next expansion and they gonna fix some of the things they should fix since launch.
Yeah same problem on different maps, fine when log in, as soon as loading into the map got connection error and out.
Think ranger in the same spot as dungeons for the devs now, if they can, they would remove this class from the game, they already realized there is no place for this class to perform and not kittening most other classes’ players off, ranger is a design failure. It is just unlike dungeons which can be ignored, rangers cant, so the best way is to reduce the player number as many as possible so lesser of the player base will have a worse gaming experience. You guys should thanks the dev for all the sub par designs and nerfs on ranger so you guys can wake up and move on to other classes and enjoy the game correctly.
Im very disappointed how they handled faolain(well I finished 2 of the maps’ story so I might be wrong), I was expecting faolain become a cool anti hero in the expansion who may lead to come very interesting story or lore, but in the end Anet just make her a bigger beeetch…
Is the open world content a kittenallenging? yes compared with old open world difficulty. Is it manageable? For me, totally, as far as you dont run with full zerker you will survive fine if you dont go solo certain hero points well most hero point champ is actually solo-able to be honest, just some really need to group up to fight the boss mechanic.
Im in the group of players who are hardcore in terms of imporve skills, but very casual regarding those pure time consuming contents. I spend literally thousands of hours in fighting games to improve my skill level but I also understand this is an mmo, time consuming content is needed to satisfy those of whom get conditioned by traditional mmos. Thats why Im fine with the mastery system and dislike the old Elite HP cost requirement cuz it significantly limited the way I could to enjoy the new maps and leveling mastery in order to unlock your elite is no challenging by all means, it just huge exp farming, no skill required. Lots of ppl mistakenly think time consuming=challenging which in most cases are not.
Thank you Anet, now I can finally enjoy new spec on numbers of my characters, it still requires work for a character that doesnt have high world completion but its very reasonable now. And yes the main point of this change is that a lot of players like me was expecting to play through new content with new elites not with those base classes that im already bored of playing with after hundreds of hours.

I was expecting with my map completed characters I will be able to enjoy content with new elites and say goodbye to old base classes cuz I got bored of them after hundreds hours of playing. Now, WoW, Anet you really out done yourself, you really expect ppl to grind through your new content and still be as excited as now to play through them with mentally burnt out farmed “new” elites after like 2 months of grinding?

Bump, this event upscales too much to a point that it takes waaaay to long to complete, this bascially happens to any gathering event that doesnt have a number ceiling, like when you help that little kid collecting armor to build dummies.
I created a ingame report for this.
It says ingame that if you send a report it goes straight to the dev team.
You guys should do the same. If we get enough ingame tickets about this we might see something.

BTW I use Howler on my Necro. The wolf animation gets covered up by the skill animations. Any other profession has this problem?
yeah Wolf howling animation is hardly noticeable on its own anyways, I always want them to change it to when you use a skill 2 or 3 mist wolves show up and howl around you.
I’m running Valkyrie+knight so I have more options in traits and from the beta weekend at least in open world I can still maintain my shroud up time pretty long, mostly longer than enough.
I agree on being able to see CD of utilities on shroud, but do not agree on being able to use them cuz that will make shroud form too strong(or not OP but other community will still QQ about this) and devs will likely need to “balance” it out by nerfing shroud form which I believe none of us want that to happen.
Plz fix it, I dont want my legend looks like a prec when HoT lauched, Anet Plz QAQ.
OK my current issues with howler
1. The awesome night effect is missing.
2. Mist aura disappears like half of the time even sometimes with only a few npcs or players nearby
3. The Mist step effect is missing when paired with other legendary like incinerator, when equipped with both on my necro I can only see the fire step effect of incinerator the Mist step effect does not show up at all ( and yes I checked very carefully under high res to make sure its not just Mist step effect too weak to be seem). Edit: Ok so this is not a bug but still the mist footstep effect alone is very weak compared to other footstep effects.
Additional Edit: today I came by help a newbie party, my incinerator draw their attentions but none actually noticed my howler >.<, this saying sth.

Some of my long time concerns have been addressed and Solved by Druid
1. Pets survival ability in Raid (kinda)
Raid is going to be harder than what we have faced and I was worried about how to manage pets alive the whole time or most of the time (its already takes lots of effort now) , now some of these awesome new pets all have invulnerability on their F2 skills it makes absorb damages much easier and kinda solved the problem that pet dont have a dodge button.
2. WvW zerg role
Now we can proudly bring our Druid into a WvW zerg and not thinking about that if I bring a guardian or warrior I can contribute more, the Aoe CC and healing Druid provide may shift the current meta in WvW a lot.
3. Spvp role
The previous problem for ranger in Spvp is that if build for +1 or point holder we provide less team support than other classes build, now I can definitely see Druid as a great point holder and still perform great in teamfight, on the +1 side we will see what the core balance turns out.
I know some of us are still unhappy about being a healer or even to have a healer role in gw2 and still want an awesome archer role (I want to have an awesome longbow shortbow ranger build too, the 6 months of me playing gw2 was all about pure bow ranger), but Druid for ranger is a quality of life change and give us hope that we will get more improvement in the future.
Is Druid OP? that another topic, but I like the designing concept of Druid.

Cuz if you want a +1, mesmer and thief is better, if you want a point holder, there are tons of good bunker builds that can do the job yet have better group support when needed.
If you want to be underdog, you can always intentionally make your build worse. On the other hand, I will be happy to see Druid be as good as ele and guardian in group fight and still can hold on their own in 1v1.
This actually worries me a lot, since they seem to plan to start with Druid reveal, so will we get 40min to 1 hr talk solely focused on Druid like other classes in PoI? They have to cover so many information in 2 days…Specially on 1st day seems tons of important announcements. Will we get the treatment same as the stream about major trait changes? “Oh, Druid, there are cool things! Interesting! Now lets move on.”

The problem ranger face is why the party should accept a ranger when there are other classes(GWEM specially) available assuming players dont know each other. There is no roll in current contents that ranger can fits in among the best. This comes back to the “Jack of all traits”(master of none) designing concept, but now when you have classes like Ele and guard basically being Queen/King of all traits master of all, the surviving space of rangers on highly demanding groups just become tightened. In addition, these demanding groups are very likely to create what we call META. Large amount of player base follow meta builds like bible which make the community attitude towards rangers even worse than it should be. On the other hand, other players do not care the reasons behind you bring a ranger to the party, it is simply that bring a GWEM is more promising to have a good play experience than having a ranger they do not know.
fought whole 30 mins, wasted lots of gold teleporting through out the map, got gold rating in the end, but only 5 blooms and 1 crate? Anet plz… at least give each individual event exp/gold/karma rewards like regular events.
I can confirm that there is something wrong with SEA and oceanic connections, I asked in map chat and players from these areas all experience unusual lag spikes, I normally got 250 avg, now its 600 avg. Other players’ experiences are even worse like 800-1000 avg.
With raid content being much more difficult, if Druid fails to live upon it, I can already see “Raid group no ranger ty”
With the decline in WvWer numbers and ppl understand WvW scoring system better. The mode just becomes not fun for most of the players base, WvW used to a place for ppl enjoying zerg fight, provide a pvp place different from Spvp. Servers and guilds holding their pride in these fights. Now those fights never happen anymore, even caping a keep is no longer feel rewarding cuz no server has numbers to defend all their important structures anymore and defending just does worth it in most cases. Even after a relatively intense fight, spend next 5 to 10 mins stay and sweep mesmers just kill the excitement. Also, WvW has the worst rewards, Spvp is much better, this also discourages new players from entering the mode. Reduce numbers in WvW just snowballing all the design flaws in this mode, unless Anet do something significant to revive this mode which I highly doubt about it.
sadly SB is no longer main weapon for most rangers now.
I was still using SB+S/D for a kite evade fun build after the “40 millisecond nerf”, but after they nerfed its range from 1200 to 900, I just feel its not worth taking SB over Axe+any now.
ehhh, so we all know whats next balance patch will bring
make more warrior builds viable, take out all viable ranger builds even the ones only with potential, probably nerf ranger GS and S/D so melee ranger will be “balanced” on par with bow ranger just like how they “balance” ranger shortbow to make longbow “viable”
other classes
guardian will get minor changes that basically will not hurt the class metas at all just like all the other patches
ele will get some buffs here and there but goes same with guardian
necro MM build will get nerfed a bit same with the Turret engi, and cant promise to have other builds buffed
PU mesmer probably will get nerfed too, but other builds will get stronger imo
Thief…well…I do not really care about balance of a fundamentally bad designed class.
but but by doing this means Anet openly admit that their ranger mechanic design is a total failure QAQ
why do you think devs care about ranger?
next patch will still be ranger nerf and warrior buff

Haven’t played this game for months and when I come back I find I’m missing 2 WP and 4 POI from the map update, where are they located? TY
ehh…2 weeks for 1 weapon, I have 5 toons and on average 3 weapons per character, so its 30 weeks of work for me to catch up if I play everyday. A lot of the mmos I played had eventually became if you dont log in everyday you are behind stats wise, I thought GW2 was supposed to solve this problem, but I guess I am wrong, oh how about when the armors comes out? Much more work to do than weapons I assume. And next year, they gonna rise the level cap(I think I see this in articles somewhere), and make another tier to fill the gap on time consume between normal gear and legendary.
I have learned my lessons here, no hope for revolutionary mmos, all are same games with different skins.
From a WvWer(in a WvW only guild) who oftenly switch between 3 different toons for group need, this is the worst ever to happen after the ascended trinkets. I only geared 2 of 3 with Ascended trinkets and since I dont pve I dont have any Ascended backpack yet. Although I see this coming since they introduce us this “should have them with game launch” tier, my love of gw2 just died a little bit; I think I was naive enough to believe Anet would consider not releasing the rest of Ascended gear.

2.Close the gap between legendary and exotic, hmmm close what gap? I get it! the gap of time to acquire one piece!
3.Stat increase are little. Oh well, After they release armor its 8% in total doesnt count base attack and defense yet. Yes, it does not effect pve that much, but it effect WvW a lot, a fully Ascended army will have a better chance against a fully exotic army, and this is why the whole Ascended gear thing does not make any sense. it influence players who does not pve that much more than who pve and actually like farming. And I am still kitten ed about you cant get Ascended back item through WvW, they can make some requirements that only hardcore WvWer can get to prevent pve population flood into WvW for backpack if they do so. Anet saying look WvWers we get a lot of pve content that we really dont want you to ignore it, stop enjoying what you are doing and start farming.
Oh and how about another brand new tier that may release after Ascended, and it was also “planned on launched”? We already know Anet’s words cant be trusted.

well, aoe attack and boon share originally didnt have a 5 man cap;If I remember right Blackgate was the 1st one found out that would make a stacked zerg ball unkillable in the fight and keep ring holding fight become super long and least forever cuz both size cant be killed by all means. Then 2 weeks later devs put caps on aoe boon share and damage.
I don’t think our aoes are bad, we are just lacking pure weapon build-in aoes(actually not lacking but they are spread around all weapon set, not like ele or necro staff which are aoe focused weapon even guardian staff can be considered). On the other hand when you have to put other skills as stun breaker to side with 2 traps just make me sad, but it also feels so weird if they actually give traps stun breaker, cuz they are traps..semi passive skills and cant be instant casted…

This, Razethh probably is one of the very few real hardcore one in WARD. No matter the time when PRX went unoffical, or the time JQ just lost EMP and FOO in a sudden; everyone is a hardcore WvWer when winning(hell JQ had 4 map Que while in T2,then back to T1 we now still have 4 map outmanned sometimes), but only a few still showed strong passion while server went through the worst time; putting extra hours, willing the leading the pugs in other timezones while lacking guildie support. Losing one of this kind of player is a huge loss to JQ.
On the bright side, I am happy to see there are still a lot of JQ commanders and guilds who didn’t give up on JQ, and a lot of them become much stronger than before after went through all those days.
