Kills are updating again but seems like all the kills during the day were not counted at all.
(edited by Boss Nomad.6487)
Kill counts have not updated since 10:30 GMT today.
Everything else seems to be updating.
(edited by Boss Nomad.6487)
Are all these problems related to an update of the api? I dont recognize seeing points_tick, points_capture, yaks_delivered or upgrades before. Also appears that there are objectives with a new “Spawn” type.
Any ETA when all the problems are going to be solved? If not an exact date, just a rough estimation. Will it take more than a week?
I agree. Sadly there is almost no reason for anyone who does not have these titles to complain about them limiting the visibility of the “issue”.
Some way to tell which season the title was obtained would be nice. It would give a reason to try to get the titles for every season instead of just one.
I would suggest these, while keeping the original titles untouched a suffix is added that explains what the title means. I dont know is this too much but it is quite hard to think of a better way to show which title is better than another.
God of PvP-Rank 1 of S5
Legendary Demigod-Rank 2 of S5
Immortal Legend-Rank 3 of S5
Unyielding Legend-Top 10 of S5
Relentless Legend-Top 25 of S5
Ruthless Legend-Top 100 of S5
Merciless Legend-Top 250 of S5
These titles would be unique to the rest of the titles in the game though. That might be a problem if anet wants to keep all titles similar in a way that they dont have specific information about how they were obtained.
The title could have been as simple as Legend of PvP Season Five for example while keeping God of Pvp for rank 1, Legendary Demigod for rank 2 and a third title (NOT Immortal Legend) for rank 3.
Currently there are yellow dots on the map for guild-mate locations. I think it would be great if this feature was also enabled for friends list. Instead of yellow dots, friends locations could be marked with green dots or any other color than yellow.
This would require two way friendship to prevent “sniping” and other bad things.
There could be two checkbox settings for this feature:
- “Disable friend location markers”
- “Hide your location from your friends”
There could also be similar checkboxes for the existing guild-mate location feature.
This would be helpful in many ways and i cannot think of any major negative impacts of this to the community.
I tried to search for suggestions similar to this but i did not find any.
Luck will always be part of any matchmaking system. It does not matter in the long run.
If you are not consistently climbing you have to accept the fact that you might belong to that rating.
People you mop the floor with are ranked higher? In 1v1 situations? Remember that there are many other things in pvp that can make a player better than you.
Don’t look at top stats. They do not tell how well you played.
For example, one could go to an enemy capped far point to fight an ele for the rest of the game and get top damage and top offensive stats. I can compare that to doing absolutely nothing for the team.
Top healing? Play the class with highest healing potential and just stay in the biggest fight and keep healing allies and yourself.
Top kills? Only stay in the biggest fights outnumbering the enemy for the whole game for a high chance to get that one, top damage as well if you play a class that deals a high amount of damage.
Top defensive? This one is probably the best stat of all of them but still does not tell anything about what you actually did for the team. You could even be unnecessarily in a fight that outnumbers the enemies just to get this top stat. Even better if they have healers that make the fight last for a long time and you and your team lacks focus.
All those mentioned above are bad things to do. Don’t play for top stats. They do not mean anything. Personally i do not even watch what top stats i get.
Just keep playing, look for things you can improve. You will climb if you deserve to be at a higher rating.
I lost over 100 rating in a day and i know i played badly. Later i even realized that my mouse button is not working properly that caused all those weird missclicks i had experienced during the day. Now a few days later, mouse button issue solved (temporary solution, still waiting for a replacement part), i’m already back at the rating i were. Now even a bit higher than that. Nothing is impossible.
A few tips: Don’t blame the system. Don’t blame your team-mates. Blame yourself. You cannot win every game.
(edited by Boss Nomad.6487)
Anyway, play a DPS role because a support without a team that have a little of coordination isn’t possible to support, unless you’re really good and find players good as you. But as a dps you can carry some noobs to victory, if you’re really good.
But that’s the thing; I play DPS Warrior in PvP, and I do pretty well with it both in teamfights and in 1v1s. But if I go with my team to mid at the start of the match, 2 of them being noobs that literally die in 2 seconds flat and I’m left in a 2v4 against a support ele, a necro and 2 DHs, that is NOT a fight I’m capable of winning. It’s just not. And I know for a fact that once that happens, any teamfight I go into with one of those guys in it is going to be a blowout, as is any 1v1 they have. They won’t be able to fight people off points, they won’t be able to cap anything, they won’t contribute to teamfights or small scale fights, they’ll just die.
I also know they’re going to consistently run back to mid or run to far and jump into 1v3 to “distract people” or whatever the excuse is and feed points and spend most of the time running back and forth from spawn whilst the enemy team proceeds to outnumber us everywhere else. Or they’ll “guard” close and stand there doing nothing the entire game. You’re basically fighting 4v5 or even 3v5 the entire game, and if you’re playing against other people who actually know the basics, it’s impossible to win. The enemy team doesn’t even NEED to be as good as I am mechanically or in a 1v1 or whatever, as long as they know the basics of PvP, of rotating, of focusing targets, etc and can hold their own in a fight and not instadie, whilst you have weak players on your team that don’t, you’re constantly being outnumbered and that’s an incredibly difficult and frustrating uphill battle EVERY game. The matchmaker just seems to LOVE making games like that. It’s almost as if there’s actually an employee at Anet orchestrating all of it, HE’S the matchmaker, and he just takes delight in screwing people over.
The players that you described are not only on your team. In the long run it does not matter at all. If you cannot climb, you belong there where you are.
Most people seem to have forgotten that there is 5 totally random players on the enemy team and only 4 totally randoms on your team (or 3 if you duoQ). So it is actually more likely that the troll-, unmotivated-, pve-, bad-, “horribad”-, “terribad”- and “kittentibad”-players are on the enemy team.
(Terms in quote marks are terms that ppl who have to blame their team for everything commonly use. If you are one of them, STOP.). It is just EXTREMELY rare that ALL the players who are not playing well are on YOUR team. Yet players make it sound like all of them are in their team. Remember that there are also players better than you in pretty much every game.
It is YOU that make the difference between climbing or dropping. Play better than others? You will climb. Play worse? You will drop. As simple as that.
And NO, the placements are not the reason you are stuck in bronze/silver. If you are better than the other players at that rating, you will climb no matter what teams you get. If you cannot climb, you have to accept the fact that you belong to that rating. This might be very hard to accept but it is a fact. Just remember, you are not there forever. You can always improve. But only if you seriously look into improving.
Simple tips to improve generally:
- Do not blame your team mates for anything.
Blaming your team drops the win rate because they are very likely to respond that they did nothing wrong or with something you did wrong and completely lose focus of the game. In worst cases they can even go afk. You gain absolutely nothing positive by doing this.
- Record your games, look what you did well and what you should have done differently.
You left skyhammer, should you have gone far instead of close?
Should you have went to mid instead of close?
Should you have disengaged from a fight and at which point?
Could you have ressed a team-mate by using a specific skill?
Etc.
There are so many things that you can look for. The answer is not “i already know how to rotate, i am the best, all the others in my team are noobs”, you can always improve. You don’t always even feel like you have improved.
- Keep in mind that it is you that make the difference, not your team. This does not mean that you should be able to carry 4 bad team-mates, you just have to accept that the game did not go that well and move on. In the long run it does not matter.
- Lost a game? Move on. No one can maintain a 100% win ratio.
- Be friendly in chat. Not like “kittenING STOP GOING MID”, more like “Lets go far we cannot win mid”
- Friendly reminders about buffs.
- Use pings wisely. You can ping things like points about to be decapped by enemy, buffs before they spawn. Someone could have an intense fight and forget to look at the map. Do not spam pings and do not draw 20000 lines between mid and close only causing confusion.
- Use skills wisely, don’t just spam all skills and then wonder why you died.

[Suggestion] New Build System

[Suggestion] New Build System
If you have any other DirectX-applications running try closing those before launching gw2.
To be continued . . .
I recommend an i5-4690K or an i5-6600K. Even if you dont want to overclock the stock clocks of the K-versions are higher resulting in better single-core performance for a small price.
SSD will result in faster loading times. Objects will load faster when you move around so the lag spikes when objects are loading will be shorter or unnoticeable.
Guild Wars 2 running at 120fps on a 60hz monitor is unnecessary and you will likely experience screen tearing at some point.
Other things that may drive a decision to use a frame limiter or to enable vertical sync (which synchronizes frames with your monitor refresh rate) are to reduce heat → reduce speeds of fans → reduce noise. Components may also last slightly longer because of lower temperatures. Electricity usage will also be lower.
Some games might feel unresponsive to input when using vsync or a frame limiter especially first person shooter -games.
I remember seeing a dev post mentioning that the pip loss prevention after a team mate has dcd is currently disabled. I cannot find the post right now.
If someone keeps dcing but always comes back within the time limit theres nothing to do about it. Cant just ban the player or replace him with another for having (possibly) one time network problems. That would be stupid. You just have to deal with it. Happens to everyone at some point. Its just a game after all.
The divisions currently dont represent skill at any level anyway so you should not worry about it. Wait for season 2 and have fun.
That would be nice to have those traits changed to something that could be viable for some builds. Personally i think adding fall damage reduction to the gliding mastery line would not be the right way to do it.
Currently the only statistics shown are lifetime.
The first image of Introducing PvP Leagues shows some season statistics but they are not implemented on the final release.
Going a bit further. Showing only the counts of games played, wins, longest win streak are very generic stats. Possibly make a new tab on the pvp dialog for more detailed season statistics.
Stats shown could include:
- Ranked games played during the season, wins and win ratio.
- A list of all classes showing games played, games won, win ratio, maybe even kills, deaths and point captures with the specific class.
- Favourite map of the season or even a top list of most played maps.
Season statistic history could also be nice so after a year you could see what you played a year ago and how well you performed and compare stats to the current season.
In addition: The pie chart on the home tab of the pvp dialog has some rounding problems. For me currently the total percentage is 98%.
Queueing with low ranks causes win prediction to be way less than 50% giving a big advantage to get to higher ranks.
I know a player who was at my rank from emerald to ruby during the first week. I noticed him always asking for players to join his party in map chat. His gameplay was nothing special. Skill level around mine if not lower. He is now in legendary.
Ranks do not represent skill at all. Everyone can get a low rank to queue up with to climb ranks easily.
Just need to hope that there will be no rewards for the ranks.
This is going to be fixed for season 2. Source: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Upcoming-Changes-for-PvP-League-Season-2/first
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you have 20 score at end of match, it just means you went afk on close and called it “I hold close against imaginary threats”.
Learn to rotate please :<
And the same does not happen if you have a 5 minute 1v1 holding far for your team?
There are many ways a player with low to no score can be the mvp of the team.
Please focus on fixing bugs while you’re tinkering with WvW gameplay and such. Notable bugs that should’ve been fixed a long time ago are:
1. Wall bugs
-There are multiple bugs here, one is the walls are layered and flickering.
-Walls/doors that you can’t damage.
-Walls that you’ve knocked down to 0 health, but graphics still show up like the wall’s still there, yet you can walk through the pixels.
-Walls that get stuck at 1% health and you can’t knock it down.2. Oasis event
-Extreme lag when you have more than a couple of groups doing it, especially so when other server’s contesting it. Lag can be felt everywhere in the zone, even at spawn.
-Warping lag, skill lag, random death lag. This is again something that shouldn’t exist 2+ months into expansion launch. Either fix it, or disable it. And it’s a shame that the whole middle area is pointless when oasis event isn’t up. It almost look like a fun place to fight in. But most people probably avoid it like plague due to being traumatized by the oasis lag…and the fact that it’s absolutely pointless to fight over it. Please consider turning off the oasis event, and put something else in its place so players always have a reason to fight over the mid section of the map.
3. Invisible dragonhunter traps.
-I file this under bugs because something that traps me in place should not be invisible. It causes deaths and if I can’t see what’s blocking me from moving, I can’t counter it. I have to guess whether it goes away or not, if guessed wrong, I get knocked down and my skills go on cooldown, which often leads to deaths. If I stand still too long while waiting for the invis traps to go away, I may get cooked and bombed, and again leads to deaths.
Stuff like this shouldn’t exist in competitive environment. This affects both WvW & PvP. Fix it already please.
4. Stuck in place bug
-This happens everywhere in the game, and it’s worse in WvW & PvP because it causes deaths. Again this shouldn’t exist in competitive environment, and nobody would take your esports seriously if they get stuck in place for no reason. You have to emote or jump or dodge roll to get unstuck. It just happens randomly with no condi’s on you, and you have to spam different things to get unstuck. It’s just an ugly bug.
5. Bugged waypoints
-Waypoints that do not get contested even though you’re literally fighting on them. It leads to spawn rushing and create impossible to take keeps.
-On the flip side, keeps with no player attacking them, but go contested for no reason and remain so for a very long time. Waypoints are just so bugged since HoT launch…and it’s a very important part of this game mode.6. Lords that get stuck out of place
-We took the fire keep, and the lord was stuck standing IN LAVA. So it just kept dying over and over, people revived the lord, it would still stand in lava and die again.
-Both keep & tower lords stand in weird spots, sometimes by the doors, sometimes off on the wall somewhere. Why isn’t this fixed by now?7. Capture announcements
-This is more of a QoL improvement, but I’ll file it under bugs because it blocks my field of view and nobody asked for it. Seriously it’s intrusive, and it blocks a good portion of the screen while you’re fighting. Give us a way to disable the on-screen announcements. I’m fine with these announcements go in the chat box. I don’t need these announcements popping up regularly in middle of my screen.
8. Commander tags not showing on map
-This bug happens randomly, sometimes you see the commander tags, sometimes you don’t. Nobody knows why, it just disappears randomly, and pops back up randomly. It’s a very annoying bug when commanders are trying to coordinate on the battlefield.
9. Unable to change commander pin color while in squad
-It’s like rocket science to try to change your commander pin color if you’re already leading a squad. Sometimes commanders have to disband the squad to change the color. Sometimes they’re simply unable to change the pin color. Why is this even a problem in this game?
These bugs have been there since HoT launch, it’s now almost 3 months in, these bugs shouldn’t have lasted this long in the game. This is why players have no confidence in Anet, these bugs shouldn’t exist 2+ months into expansion launch. No other game modes have these many bugs that interfere with the gameplay. And people wonder why WvW is dying and players are avoiding it.
This is a good list of the current bugs in WvW.
New content and changes to existing content are important and make WvW a bit better place however bugs that limit gameplay makes the experience in WvW a lot worse.
Please fix the bugs more actively. I would prioritize fixing bugs over finding changes that could make WvW a better place.
I don’t like to run around a tower clicking on every wall to find out which one does not show a health bar and is destroyed.
I don’t like to see a commander placing catapults about to destroy a wall that cannot be destroyed.
I also don’t like to find out that a contested keep was not contested by a player.
I think it’s something with the TP itself, see https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Black-Lion-Trading-Post-showing-no-items
But it looks like, that some ppl have a working Ingame TP. I sell Items, you normaly search ingame like Weapons->Swords: Lev80,Exotic …
Ah, that could explain it. Thanks.
Endpoint commerce/prices does not return any ids when accessed without an id.
I can guarantee this worked yesterday. Is it intended or is it a bug as new endpoints were added 9 hours ago?
It nicely keeps the people with lucky win streaks out of diamond and legendary. If you are in ruby and you can maintain higher than 50% win ratio you will eventually get to diamond.
- 95% SoloQ player in ruby
The next balance patch should come out in around 6-8 weeks. Better start using elite specs until the older ones are viable again. Its a sad thing that marketing affects it as well. They want elite specs to be better than older specs just to force people who pvp to buy HoT. Only time tells how long they want to keep it like that.

The queues are structured as they are for a reason; splitting the populations cause more problems than it solves.
+1
I would like to see this sentence to spread like all the sentences that make no sense at all.
The thresholds are now based on divisions and mmr of the teams.
If you are better than average, your win ratio will be over 50% and you will climb tiers. If not, maybe practise more.
Matchmaking uses both division and mmr. If you play better than average your win rate will be over 50% and you will climb divisions. If you are stuck in a division, your skill level probably is not enough to get to the next.
Error codes 42:22:2:113:101 and 1010:6:6:459:101
Clearly matchmaking expected your team to win and your team lost. The same thing happened to me with 499-500 score.
I’m experiencing freezes up to ~5 seconds once or twice a hour.
i7-2600k, GTX970
I have a bad habit to spam click the loot key even in pvp matches and i cant get rid of it.
Autoloot seems to be the only way to get rid of it. To never need to press the loot key ever again. But sadly that is not how it is.
Autoloot currently works only in Tyria and Maguuma and not in WvW. So i will still need to spam the loot key in WvW making it impossible to get rid of this bad habit that is annoying myself alot.
Is there a reason why autoloot does not work in WvW? Is it a bug that will be fixed soon or intended?
I would really like to see autoloot working in WvW.
Are your friends playing in the same region as you?
Instead of getting i7-6700 get the “K”-version of it. Even though you are not going to overclock, its still a 5-10% performance gain at the stock speed because the “K”-version has a higher stock clock speed (4.0GHz compared to 3.4).
If you are not absolutely sure you are not going to overclock, get a z170 motherboard instead. I am currently in a situation where i have a “K”-version cpu but i still cannot overclock because of a cheap motherboard. I dont want people to get into the same situation. Things change in several years. Who knows if you want to overclock after 2-4 years.
Get the cheapest RAM-modules you can find as there wont be a noticeable performance difference.
For the psu, 600W should be more than enough if you dont plan to get another GPU to SLI later.
During great jungle wurm and karka queen there are always lots of skill latency. More server resources should be allocated for those instances during the boss times or player caps should be reduced slightly.
There are no issues during other bosses.
Consider i5-6600k. Though you need a motherboard with a 170 chipset and different ram (either DDR3L or DDR4 depending on the motherboard).
Keep eye on your gpu usage. If its at 100% for most of the time with uncapped fps, its a bottleneck.
I have used gtx550ti too with an i7-2600k cpu. 550ti was definately a bottleneck for me during those times. Now with a gtx970, gpu usage stays at around 50% while the game uses the most of the cpu it can (around 35-40%).
In case you are going to buy a new gpu, keep in mind that its not a guaranteed huge fps increase. Your cpu might be a bottleneck just a bit after your gpu.
Dont expect 60fps in every situation. Wvw fights will continue to impact fps even on expensive systems.
Before buying anything i recommend messing around with graphics settings. Autodetect is usually not the best option for performance.
I keep V-sync turned on pretty much all the time, but I never get above 60FPS even with my FPS uncapped. In most areas of the game, My GPU usages hovers between 50 and 80%. It’s only a few distinct areas of the game where it caps at 100%. The mossman’s room in the swampland fractal is one of those areas. In my experience, Nvidia cards don’t like really heavy shader effects, water and shadows especially. (which is why I always have shadows and reflections turned off).
Sounds like your cpu and gpu are pretty balanced at this moment so if you are going to buy a new gpu, be ready to get a new cpu as well.
Change the motherboard to any other with a z170 chipset for overclocking support and other nice features. Also go for a 6700k over 6700 because its unlocked and also has a higher stock clock if you dont want to overclock. GTX750ti is not “that” good so if your budget allows, go for either gtx950, 960, 970 or 980ti.
I recommend Samsung 850 evo if you are getting a solid state drive.
Not sure but i think that cpu does not come with a cooler. (Check that)
I recommend getting Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or Noctua NH-D15.
Keep eye on your gpu usage. If its at 100% for most of the time with uncapped fps, its a bottleneck.

Never seen anet tell about player counts. But the answer clearly is. Alot.
Instances of starter areas are completely filled with f2p players. A dynamic event where you found 1-3 players earlier now has 8-15 players completing it.
Same issue. Happens a couple of times a month. Mostly when doing tequatl or fractals.
One audio clip (ambient audio clip like people cheering) starts repeating infinitely and other audios cannot be played. Fps starts to slowly decrease and soon the game becomes a slideshow of frames.
Map change resets the fps decrease and soon the game is a slideshow again.
Game cannot be quit normally.
Problem happened on both Windows 8.1 and 10.
Either this happens some times a year or we have to face servers that have either alot higher or lower rating. It would not be funny to get stomped by a server that has over 300 higher rating.
We just have to wait for the ratings to fluctuate enough so we get higher chances to get other opponents. Patience and play well to make the process faster. Don’t forget to pray for rng gods because there is always a chance to get a different match up.
You will be good with these.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k
GPU: Nvidia GTX 960 or 970 depending on your budget
RAM: Guild Wars 2 uses approximately 2GB of ram. You will be fine with 8GB.
PSU (Power supply): 550-650W

If you are just trying to see the likely next matchups, the Millenium people already do this automatically.
For example:
There is no rng used on it? Its just those leagues and those split into 3 matchups?
Does anyone know how to calculate percentages for next wvw matchup?
Like this: http://puu.sh/8waSw.png
Found in: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/wvw-matchup-variance-reduction/
If the calculation is already explained in that page, i did not understand it 100%. Can anyone clear it out if the case is that?
I also did this 2 days ago, it felt like it didnt work. I did it after several tries.
Neither did i get the laurels. I think its intended as i got 10 laurels from the monthly that ended 15th april. It could be too much to receive 20 laurels in 1 month.
This suggestion comes into my mind in every single dungeon i go thru’.
Im suggesting dungeon stats screen that appears when dungeon is finished. In the screen, there could be stats like:
- Dungeon time
- Damage dealt + DPS (each player)
- Damage taken (each player)
- Healing (each player)
- Lots of other stats.
This should not be very hard to make and im sure it will be helpful for lots of players.
Bored of starting 3rd party timer or looking time from food timers?
Want to know how much damage do you deal and take compared to other players?
