Seems like there’s a bug when stacking those two infusion together.
The “stack” itself works well. When I have both I see the cosmic effect, but dyed white from the Winter’s Heart.
Problem is when others see me. If the viewer get really close to me, the white effect disappear, leaving only the red cosmic one. Also said effect disappear based on the camera angle/position of the viewer.
My main guess is that is something related to the camera distance from the character with the infusion. If you’re too close, then it doesn’t show.

I have a bank tab almost full of armor pieces and weapons…and already equipped most of my characters. All of this mainly thanks to fractal dailies and raids (which i stopped for now as i had done everything i could there)

Unless you just do open world stuff the whole time, I find it hard that you dropped only 5 items in 5 years, but if you do …can’t really blame that you get little rewards while playing the easiest content of the game.

So is torch the only viable offhand weapon for the axe?

Would say torch for DPS and shield for support…mainly shield because with boon duration you can give a tasty amount of protection (8s with 100% boon) and aegis to trigger Firebrand’s Stalwart Speed.

I dont know how mantras work but the cast time on those utility skills seem long. 2 and 3/4 of a second.

Mantras work with charges now. They have three charges, the last one will be more powerful than the first two, so it should be used as a “last measure”. Those charges automatically recharge too, but if you fully use the mantra you will have to wait for full cd and recast them again.
Anyway it won’t be such a huge problem anyway thanks to the quickness spam (in theory)

Every weapon can be a condi weapon with Permeating Wrath/
Axe already outputs the most burning just from PW, let alone the bleed and burn stacks it adds.
Symbols used to not give conditions, but that changed. Now they can be boon-less. Its a conscious progression that Anet has chosen.
Axe cast times assume quickness where they aren’t that crazy
Mace/Shield gives aegis, which gives quickness. All of a sudden Mace isn’t so slow.
Radiance and Valor each give traits that can recharge Justice and Courage respectively. You’ll have options to get into those tomes more often if you choose to take them.

Firebrand is going to be a different kind of traitline, but I’m excited for it. There are a lot of potential combos, but I’m probably going to go for Honor/Virtues/Firebrand myself. Condi damage with some support.

Well. True, but permeating wrath, for how good it can be, won’t make a weapon 100% compatible…especially when tome of justince have a weaker passive effect compared to core guardian too.

I thought about using mace too, which is cool and could definitedly work, but at the same time I guess we would lose A LOT of our “support” potential ? Why ? Well. Simply Ashes of the just will probably do no damage without having condi damage ourself…and as i said before, being forced on a condi setup with power weapons is just a really dumb design.

My main concern is raiding and other hard content like CMs. Why ? because it’s the only content which have precise classes requests. I can run whatever I want in PvE and T4 fractals honestly, but in those I can’t. From what it seems Firebrand will be another viable option to quickness sharing, so…yes. I want it viable in the best way possible.
And the way they thought about it is clearly with conditions, and thus probably axe, in mind. Otherwise they wouldn’t have made Quickfire the way it is.

Firebrand have to offer something that a mesmer can’t to have a possibility…and right now it just don’t. It feels kinda all over the place…and right now the only role i could see it kinda work is probably cDPS.

Yeah, as I said I do not expect nor want a typical “full support” build like …idk. Druid can be.
I apprecciate Firebrand because it’s more on the support side of mesmer, aka boon spamming and other stuff.
That’s why i’m not asking for making axe a full support weapon, but just make it on par with the other guardian’s weapons. Throw a boon into the symbol and ta-da. I’m perfectly fine. About the AA matter we have to see the dps first and then judge.

Well, I don’t think that the main support capabilities this spec has are containet in tome #5 skills:

We need burst: tome of justice >>> #5 >>> #2 >>> deactivate
We need healing: tome of resolve >>> #5 >>> #4 >>> #3 >>> spam #1
We need stability: tome of courage >>>#5>>> spam #1

I expect Firebrand to be a more situational support.

Still, for how much i can agree with the situational support thing, the book have waaay to long cooldowns. 90 seconds of tome of courage ? That’s..like…way TOO situational. A druid can spam heals and dmg bonus % every 10 seconds, if he charge enough, for 15 seconds, but we can give some boon at a decent interval ? Especially when tomes have a limited skill usage.
Idk, I just think that they should work like something between kit and attunement. Basically they could put a mechanic that let you gain pages in a passive or active way, then let you swap between them like attunements with a CD, but at the same time let you stow them like a kit.
Or at least reduce the cd on them. Like…20 seconds for Justice, 30 for resolve and 40-45 for courage. It may feel…“exaggerated” at first, but we can use only 5 to 8 skills with them…it’s not that bad.
Otherwise we will be forced to play Renewed focus, and Virtues line plus other traits, just to be able to use them “normally”.
I know we didn’t play the spec yet so it’s hard to tell what it can or can’t do, but there’s not much need to play it to see/know that those long ass cooldowns will just make the spec slow and kinda dull, forcing you to a certain setup…because let’s be honest. The whole spec rotates around those tomes. Beside the condi damage factor all the tasty stuff that the spec can give, is there.

Yes, but still there’s the point that without boon giving, it ain’t a symbol. It’s just a normal aoe.

It’s just that Dragonhunter fixed so many problems guardians had that you can’t live without it. I think the support side of the Firebrand is coming from the virtues and axe is supposed to be this pure condi dmg thing. Firebrand will probably only be used in pve IF the dmg is higher than DH and in WvW because the frontline specs don’t/didn’t need DH. Dragonhunter just fills too many holes in the other gamemodes.

Imo that kinda is a good thing. It’s really hoped that specs gave different gameplays and would be more or less useful in different enviroments. If a specs is just a 2.0 version of what we already have, then it have no point in being called a specialization, they would have put them as linear job advancements.

They didn’t give axe any support skills because guard already has multiple support weapons. The only thing it didn’t have was a dedicated condi main hand weapon.

Yes, but while I understand that guardian got many support weapons already, none of them (main hand) really synergize with Firebrand except mace…Moreover making you use a power based weapon on a condi spec…which is really meh if stuff like Ashes of the just scales off your condi stats. Druid bring a lot of % dmg boons, but i’m not allowed to give my team extra damage with my skillset because I have to use “opposite stats” weapons ?

And even if we consider that axe is supposed to be a DPS weapon, we do not have to forget the supporting core which guardian as a whole revolves around.
So why do stuff like a sword, GS etc etc keep even a tiny bit of support with boons, symbols and so on, while axe have literaly none ? Could understand that if it was pre weapons’ revamp. Where some stuff like scepter and sword actualy had no symbols, but now you make a symbol with no beneficial effects at all ? Then just call it a normal field, because like this it ain’t a symbol at all. It just feels off.
Moreover from the description it’s not even a true symbol. It doesn’t have any pulsing tooltip…i wonder how it works at all.

To end this, i’m not asking for axe to be the like the druid’s staff. Just make it on par with the other guardian’s weapons.

Hello everyone,
I will begin by saying that my thoughts are, of course, kinda early since we don’t really know everything about the spec and it’s potential, but those two things have been bugging me a lot while thinking about firebrand and what we’ve seen for now.

The first is the lackluster amount of burn and bleed the AA gives, this is mainly a concern when we look at the firebrand as a whole.
It’s true that we actually get two stacks of said conditions instead of one, which is pretty good, but since we will have to use tomes and mantras it kinda concerns me that a lot of our “casted support” time will be wasted because out AA’s conditions already ended lots of time ago… but this one is really the smallest matter.
We need to see first how it plays and then check is the DPS is balanced enough. Plus a nice part of our DPS will probably come from Ashes of the just from supporting with quickness and the tome. Also i’m not expecting a 100% dps spec, so even if the dmg isn’t that high, it doesn’t matter much to me. It’s mainly for others that might want that option.

Now comes the second part of my concern…and actually the biggest part imo. The devs said how the firebrand is a condi spec with a support side, that favors casted support instead of instant support, but then again…where is the support in the axe ? It doesn’t have the tiniest heal, not boon. Hell…axe got the (now) only symbol in game that doesn’t give even a shred of boon. It just feels really off for me.
If firebrand is the support spec for now, why it’s weapon doesn’t support at all ? What do i have to do ? Run mace/shield for support ? forced playing “power” when my whole spec revolves around conditions ?
A suggestion could be, since boons are too “immediate” for a spec built around casted support, make the symbol tic 4 times, giving aegis every three. That way it doesn’t lose usefulnes even with Writ of Persistance, as it would last 6 seconds, ticking two times, but at same time it follows the theme of the spec, without being too straightfoward with the support (also I used aegis because it’s one of the few “viable” boons never used by a symbol).
In the end it would give a nice boon to allies, works well with many traits of the core class (all the various symbols’ traits and pure of heart ) and synergize better with the grandmaster trait Quickfire.

And this kinda leads to another concern of mine btw, but not axe related.
We would have no proper ranged weapon anymore…no matter what kind of build we follow.
Want to run pure condi dps ? Well, no ranged weapon gives conditions. Good luck.
Want to run support build ? Well, you could take staff. Too bad the support side of it is still meh and they practically made it a barely mid ranged weapon.
Maybe reworking a bit more the staff could be enough. At least for the support side. Like change the AA and make it a bounding projectile that heal and buff some of the other skills.

I defended Anet many times even during the matter regarding the “gem conversion with fixed amounts”, since it was just a small limitation over the fact that we could still exchange gold for gems, but this is simply nuts.

Making skins accessible only behind some RNG boxes is really stupid and completely goes in contrast with what GW2 has been doing up until now with the gemstore.

Whoever thought that they could do something like this and have zero negative feedback should really be fired.

For once I will bring my pitch and fork out too. This need to be undone and it need to be fast. If you want to give more value to them decrease the ticket and scraps drop chance, i don’t care, just leave them free to trade.

I mean, beside buying them for myself, If i wanted to buy a weapon as a gift for my gf…i can’t do that ! Simply stupid.

True, it would be so good…an extension or another BWE is a must. I know that betas are there to find out bugs like the one we encountered too, but if we can’t properly try the encounter, we can’t help them balance it too :o
And from what i’ve seen (since i was working i couldn’t try it at all) it seemed fairly easy…unless there’s more after the vale guardian is killed or at lower %

As I said in other posts, totally agree. The difficulty wasn’t impossible…it was fairly balanced and prompted people to make gruops to run around. Mordrems imo were even too much squishy in BWE2…now just everything is squishy and easy to skill…mobs atks pose no threat too.

Please Anet…listen to your community this time :< this expansions was promised us as something “for veterans that wants a challenge”, but challenge do not reside only in raids etc…even the normal zone should be. We’re heading towards Mordremoth…in it’s house, in BWE1-2 you felt the danger lurking around in the zone…now it’s just a joke.

This is probably the “last” chance to redeem how people see the game…which was labeled as a game for casuals only, it doesn’t have to be ultra hardcore, the general setup the game have is perfect. No attunements, no gear grind, no trinity etc…but the fights HAVE to be harder. We’ve seen that you can make challenging encounters and fights even in the normal zone of HoT. Keep it as it was. Make it a bit harder too in some cases ! (like for paperthin mordrems)

When i tried the first two betas…and seen the difficulty i was totally like, "wow, this is totally worth the price…finally something challenging and threatening ", but now ? totally not. If i didn’t try any previous beta…and the game where to be like this at launch…it would have felt as a utter and major disappointment…and probably the last of many for a lot of people.

Yeah, they “open world” PvE totally needs to be tuned up again…nothing much to say as suggestion about this…it was good in BWE2, just put it back as it was…and also, if they put it back as before, make mordrems a bit sturdier. They were a joke even before, dmg aside.

Agree…before adventuring in maguuma was an actual danger…hell, I totally thought “kitten , i totally need a party to roam around here without much worries”
Now mobs just melt (was running a tank build now, so can’t talk much about the dmg…should try another dps spec like i did last beta)
Some mobs before maybe had A BIT too much health…“normal” frog peoples even with full DPS were sturdy as hell, but now they’re ridiculous…some mobs are still sturdy like pre nerf, but way too few of them.
While mordrems were much lighter, but hit like a truck…now snipers arn’t that menacing anymore. And even the rest is kinda meh.

Devs should totally bring that difficulty back…they promised an expansion for veterans that wanted a challenge…and thus even the zone should be a challenge, not only the raids. BWE2 totally delivered that, but this ? If it was like this at launch with no beta before to try it out, it would have felt just so much disappointed.

I know it’s kind of a rant, but really nothing to say/add much…it was good, just take it back, no particular suggestion needed.

Our is an italian guild, so I will put the recruiting post in both languages.

Focus: I nostri obbiettivi principali sono il PvE (ogni branca del PvE eccetto gli speedrun) e PvP. Facciamo WvW occasionalmente, in genere durante le WvW season, anche se non ci entusiasma così tanto ( per ora, magari con i nuovi borderlands e gli altri cambiamenti in arrivo, cambieremo opinione) sentiamo comunque che è nostro dovere aiutare il nostro world quando ne ha bisogno.

Server: Desolation, visto che il WvW non è il nostro focus principale accettiamo volentieri anche membri di altri world. Desolation, se possibile, è ovviamente meglio in caso di WvW.

Orari: Il periodo di maggiore attività è il pomeriggio e la sera/notte. Non abbiamo orari fissi per dungeon o altre attività, ma tendiamo a fare le missioni di gilda la Domenica. Si possono fare anche in altri giorni su richiesta in base alle necessità.

Regole: Non abbiamo delle regole in particolare, se non quelle base per la coesistenza. Essere maturi (senza imposizione d’età, dato che l’età non determina la maturità di una persona), prendere le responsabilità per le proprie azioni, rispettare gli altri ed essere onesti. Se possibile aiutare gli altri quando ne hanno necessità o su richiesta, dato che gli altri faranno lo stesso per voi.

Server: Desolation. Since WvW is not our main goal everyone is welcome, but Desolation is better if possible.

Schedule: You can find us mainly in the afternoon and at night. We do not have a certain time for dungeons etc, but we do, generally, guild missions and such on Sunday. Other days are fine too if requested by someone.

Rules: No particular rules except the basic stuff for coexistence. Being mature, taking responsability for their actions, respect others, be honest, and , if possible, help others in time of need. Just like the others will help you when you need.

We’re a small guild of Italian player, we love to have fun and fool around as much as being serious when it’s needed.
We like the familiar feeling of our guild and we like to know each guildmate and treat them as true friends, that’s why we will never push to expand our numbers too much. Since it would, probably, result in people not bonding as they should.
Most of all we love challenges, that’s why we do not use too much cornering/glitches and so on while playing. We like to play the game as it was intented and designed, if possible. To not spoil the game game experience and it’s gameplay.

About the new fractal instabilities

I love the idea of the new fractal instabilities and even multiple instabilities at once, but (idk if the devs did something about it, but the recent blog post says nothing about this matter) honestly most of them are pointless for how they work.
By pointless I mean that most people just spam lvl 50 (or 40-30 etc based on the AR) to reach higher levels so all those interesting and challenging instabilities that should alter the gameplay…go to waste.
To fix this there’re mainly two ways, imo.

The first one is not “acceptable” with the mindset of GW2, and it’s to simply limit people to join higher fractals than the personal level. Wich would limit players a lot , first, and second it would still make it static since people would still just spam lvl 50 once they reach it.
The other one would work much better and make everything much more interesting and different imo and that’s adding a randomic factor to the intabilities.

Instabilities should have a range of possible ones…for example from 21-50 you can find some, from 51-70 other ones or so on (for example from 21-50 you can find inst 1-2-3-4-5…from 51-70 you will find 6-7-8-9-10 and so on).
Or simply make that every X levels you gain new possible instabilities added to the old ones( for example lvl 21-50 have 1-2-3-4-5…and 51-70 it will be 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10).
This way, with both new intabilities and the multiple one factor, you could first…do not need one new intability per level nor need to recycle them. Second you can make the fractal more entertaining and have people adapt to them each and every time. Third you could still put the agony instabilities to limit people from going higher levels without enough AR.

On a side yes, glacial heart have some uses in PvP, but still my “problem” was more about PvE…imo it wouldn’t be too imbalancing to separate the traits from PvE and PvP and give a bit of a buff to it.

Glacial Heart feels quite …meh… it was really BAD before, useless in practically any situation.
Now it’s a bit better with the hammer cooldown added to it, but it’s still bad.
The main point of this trait is giving chill, wich is fine…actually i pretty like the idea of giving aoe chill since I enjoy a tanky gameplay (ye ye, tank is useless, ok , but we’re not here for that). Problem is that this trait’s chill is just so worthless, 3 seconds every 15 is far too weak…make it give like 8 sec at least…or reduce the recharge to much less, but right now this side of the trait is kinda pointless.
I mean, it’s even hard to talk about “being balanced”…it’s 3 sec of chilled every 15, when we got skill not that give 5 sec of quickness and fury every 24 ? with one condition converted too… (if traited obviously, but still 5 sec of quickness every 30 is broken)

Even shield is still meh, especially in PvE (but a bit more useful in some situations than that trait for sure), but there’s another post about it.

Unluckily there’s still a lot to discover…we got some vague infos on what is coming, but no details about the “amount”

Still, the base client now is 20-21 GB with a 25GB requested in the system requirements…while HoT is 35 required…it if adds even “only” something like 10 GB it’s quite a lot compared to base game…that’s a whole whopping 50% more.

Plus we have to consider that this expansion isn’t only the “box” we get now…but it’s the fuel that will develop the next LSs and content for maybe 2-3 years or so.

When the first infos about HoT were delivered the devs said that elite specs, to balance, would limit the choice of some trait lines and utility skill, while obtaining new ones (new trait line and utility type)…or at least i remember so , maybe i’m wrong.

Yet in the latest posts i’ve found no reference to that…is it still a thing ? or did it got dropped ? or it’s still in the process of balancing so there isn’t much on it yet and was only an idea ?

Would be a change that I would surely love on my guardian…I run as a tank/support (don’t laugh xD), but the only good elite for me is the meditation…for surviving and spamming some support with the virtue recharge.
The tome courage is much more support, but it’s too slow…by the time i take it out and heal people…they’re generally dead…so i would totally love the new sigil and ofc the new shout when i need more dps for my team (running a shout build, so it would be perfect xD)

True, offensive for now pays just too much well, defense doesn’t have enough tools to actually try to defend properly. They should fix a bit the NPCs imo to not make them a joke and add more of them. If they balance guards/archers as I said, add some more of them…especially something ranged on the walls like archers and make guards atk with priority on players I think it would become more balanced and a full offensive wouldn’t pay that well.
This tactic is sustained too by the fact that the defending lane if further from the attack one, so high mobility characters will get there in no time and pulverize the guards istantly.
After all they wanted to put a scent of moba in this mode…but in every moba the “tower” is always a fearful enemy in the early game, while here it’s a joke. To do the lord you need like two people at most…even one could do if he’s melee (mages are a pain in the kitten for ranged…not hard, but you waste more time waiting for the bubbles to go down).

This mode have a great potential, I hope that the devs will listen to our feedbacks

The only problems i see right now are the archers NPCs being kinda “useless”…especially when the meta is mainly zerk and guards go down like they’re made of butter…
It would be better if guards had some sort of dmg boon toward players, focused them mainly and a big resistance toward player damage….that way archer could become more useful instead of just spamming door breakers.

Second is the time limit…i know it was already reduced , but 15 minutes is way too short…unless your team is that bad and get steamrolled HARD by the enemies on the first assoult. I don’t want hours long plays, but 15 mins is too short in any case. 20-30 minutes should be optimal.

Also another good thing would be a time limit on supplies gathering, like a CD on each pile of supplies for a single player…like 1 min or so. It would make the fact of dying and leaving supplies to enemies much more punitive too.

Well, the matchmaking was so kittened up in the pairing process that I do not blame some people for having low win%.
When you get teamed up with bad people you can’t do much if you prefer going solo or stuff (even if i’ve seen some premade 4man teams fail hard for one random guys too)…while the leaderboard system should have granted us more fair matchups skill-wise on both sides.
I remember that for a few days it was like hell, lol. Constant losses for being teamed up with people that didn’t even know what to do…and I already was decently high in the leaderboard.

Ye…I guess what 100 gem exchange is needed…still I kinda understand (as a gem buyer with cash) that sometimes it’s really stupid when you need something for 400-500 and you can charge only 800…it’s not even gold…it’s real cash…I guess you ll have to keep it just like i kept my extra gems till now after every purchase XD (for people who have sums of gems like 94 or so, I think Anet have to give you the rounded amount in excess if you contact the support)

While everyone nag about the NPE, I’ll just state that i pretty like this new type of aura they put in the game. Yet it seems, to me, a little bit hard to obtain. Only source of this is from light fields with a leap, there’s not even a skill for this, just a rune focused on auras wich would be fine just for an ele. So i personally think that it would be cool to put it with blasts too as an aoe aura, kinda like the one from chaos fields….at least it would make light fields a bit more useful.

Professions Mesmer : You practically nerfed every side of it just leaving a kitten direct damage build because people wouldn’t bother to learn how to fight vs a mesmer. Nerfed shatters…nerfed confusion… right now i think it’s an utter joke as a class it have cool mechanics, but not properly made…plus it feels nothing like the old mesmer..i know that magic have evolved and everything, but right now it feels nothing like the old role of the mesmers…wich made them MESMERS, not just purplish eles.
Right now the only build that makes me feel a mesmer is the confusion/interrupt one with perplexity runes, wich isn’t viable in pvp for the lack of runes…YET confusion is a skill that contraddict itself, the dmg it does is insane, but hard to stack (wich is fine) but ! it shouldn’t reduce the atk speed of the enemy…i mean, it counter itself…in WVW it’s awesome, in pve not so much ! in pvp it’s totally impossible to make it properly useful for now, considering the 50% debuff it have too…so, put it as a heavy CC the more stack it have, or put that at least mobs atks more since they’re in a confusional state …or that they have a chance to miss, idk…something…right now it’s like if torment triggered only while walking, wich would still be useful for wvw, but not so much for pve since most mobs are stationary….and that they would more likely be stationary with that on ( my main isn’t mesmer, so i won’t have that much personal gain to see them buffed a bit)

Profession Warrios : Warriors….warriors…so many bad sides honestly…i mean, they’re bad because it’s TOO GOOD …i mean…at everything…and how much skill you require for that ? almost none.
Warrior it’s too automatic, traits that reduce % of conditions, traits that automatically activate stuff (and strong stuff too i mean…not some retaliation every 30 sec if you get under 10% life, it’s just a example, there’re no traits that much bad lol). Automatic reduction of CC, and you get regen too for that…automatic heal, both as a MAJOR 15 POINTS TRAIT (really? 15 points for THAT much regen…wich even promote a mindless use of the core mechanic of the war of the adrenaline, i mean…with that trait who the hell use their F1 ? it’s a too big disadvantage, plus it scale too much with HP) trait and both as a signet, healing signet shouldn’t be automatic at all, in GW1 you had to actually be careful when using that for the armor debuff ! It just promotes even more the mindless gameplay.
Stances…i mean, some people think they’re useless…but…invulnerable to all dmg for all that time ?? and immune to conditions too with another one…another example of mindless war gameplay (oh…i have lot of conditions, press 7, 8/9, immune…ooohh..now it’s better. really ? ) and endure pain is a trait too, with all the dps they have that time is more than enough to make a lot of damage, plus you said that you wanted to decrease the vigor for every class to promote a more skillfull gameplay, that’s fine…but then why put things that make a class immortal ? pve wise maybe it’s not that much, pvp that few seconds is like a world of difference…remove those inv frames, maybe i could leave condi one but…meh, and put them a lil more endurance gain…maybe when they use their F1, it would make sense and promote a better use of their core mechanic…a sudden burst of adrenaline is bound to increase your endurange a bit too ? no ? i want to be generous too…put them 50% endurance for when they use F1(at 3 bars), adrenaline isn’t so fast to gain anyway.
Those are some, but the list it’s way longer to make it balanced…the dps and access to still bulky builds is way too easy, guardians are much easier to take down when not builded tanky/support…so, high dps is fine…just don’t make them omnipotent and automatic at that.

PVE: I would like to see more challenging stuff in FotM after 50…i mean..mobs just doing more insane dmg always scaling up is kinda stupid and doesn’t actually prove the worth of a player skill-wise….each fractal imo should require different mechanics or complicate the original one as you scale up with fractals, put random instabilities,making them individual would be kinda cool too, but maybe too hard to organize for the most, so just put random instabilities except for lvl 30-40-50 and so on. A feature to not let you just reset the fractal would be cool too, so that people will not reset till they find something good (stage and instability-wise) maybe put a cooldown if you reset too many times.
More stages would be nice too, but i think you’re already working on them so i won’t nag much about it. Oh, and make gold reward scale more for the fractal…i mean, each level should be like 10 (or 5) s more, making a level 50 worth 5g or so (a lvl 50 actually take some skill, knowledge and most of all time) ah ! about time…dredge fractal is too stupid, you just get more and more and more mobs…like 20 minutes needed to clear the last part before boss…by killing stupid mobs wich are no challenging at all, just wasting your time since there’s like hundreds of them…

PVP:Not sure about the league system…dont know how it works for now so i can’t tell, a starcraft’s system would be quite good imo, 100 in gold league, 100 silver, 100 bronze and the rest no league, wich will be resetted at fixed intervals to let new people have the chance to rank up a bit too (maybe extend the range of leagues, 100 is a bit strict)

WVW: Keep with buffs and special units, lords more powerful (even a bit more than EotM) or even better that they require mechanics to take them down. This would allow even not so big numbers to take it down. I like the new generator system too instead of supply camps, maybe you could put that dolyaks will still be used by keeps…i mean, keeps have their generator, but towers are too small…you can’t build generators for everything (i know that in EotM you can, but it’s because the map is quite more complex too xD) so make that keeps will delivers supplies to towers…making keeps way more important strategically wise…so you get two birds with one stone, you can introduce a new mechanic in wvw, keep an old one to not make it useless (so sniping teams can still be used) and making more important for people to keep the keep…sorry for the pun so, remove the old supply camps and put npc camps with upgrades/boons etc actually usefull to the game (the npc camps right now in WVW are utterly useless). That’s all i can think right now for EotM stuff for WVW…for WVW itself i would think a rework for capping big stuff like keeps and SM, i would put something like a protection shield, if the keep is upgraded enough , and then put an event to build something like a mega laser or a distruption bomb in wich you have to build and defend while it charge (a laser vwould be optimal since it could stay at a safe and smart distance ( but a mini bomb to take it down temporally would be cool too, so that poeple have to check the walls during a siege, ye…no event for the bomb one…put only a 1 min cast time and that the shield go down for a “defense event”…idk how it’s properly called sorry…the one wich gives you rewards and reset the spawn of the lord if not conquered)…sorry for the off topic.

I know many people that love her, and i do too…problem is that the story is a long thing, not something that can end within the time of a film or a book, as some people mentioned.
Her plan is not yet fully ready…but now we know that she have bases both for chaos magic and dragon magic…and since she had bases about dragon from the past as we have seen…and she just finished the chaos reactor with the tower of nightmares…who knows what may happen next when you combine them. I truly hope that she will mess with some dragon to let the “main storyline” go on.
Btw what Carighan said is true, you can’t just judge everyone will by something written on the forum, especially since here generally write only people that didn’t like some content, happy people do now waste time with it and just play it…

PS: I very liked the last part of the story poor Dessa…it made me so sad.

Call them bad players as I’m pretty sure you will. I call them people with a life and the stresses that come with that life. They don’t want to come home and have their fun time one shot constantly. It’s super frustrating and compounds a frustrating real world day. They don’t have all day to figure out how to use combos properly and gear up their character. So because they can’t see the content, they play other games.

I guess you find subject alpha pretty hard too, i will explain to you how to do this fight.

Stack melee (perferable in a corner (and no this isnt a exploit just a tactic because spreaded ranging is just ridiculous)) do your best dmg roation and every time he castes his aoe, count: 1- 2 – dodge. thats it (you will soon have a feeling in your stomach, some strangers call it “intuition”) you can dodge his fire which is quite a strong burning in melee if you just watch his animation (its very obvious and he do it every time after he used the aoe /spike , sometimes he just summon grubs). You can avoid his spike by standing in his target circle, or just dodge it by watching his animation ( maybe you see that that is the whole point of every fight)

The whole problem with ppl who find things to hard, they arent willing AT ALL!!! to learn this new playstyle, and it just has to do with agility, ofc some ppl arent good at it, but i am one of them ( the doctor said im “slow” its kinda like “hyper active” but the opposite anyways once you rly learned it , which is very simple, dungeons are very easy if you dont do them solo.

Sry for off topic but youre statement realy shocked me and maybe that wil help you…

BTW: A-net could just make a tutorial like in gw1, where you get real teachings instead of a story where you become a hero by nothing but auto-shooting…
ppl are like " oh wow that shortbow autoatack compared with my bear is really strong, that should work everywhere "

Big problem is the AI of bosses in general, they stop doing attack that would brutally oneshot everyone if they were in melee…yet those bosses stop doing them !! this is totally idiotic…GW2 is still too friendly towards players, you find challenge in something like the first …3-5 times you do it ? then it turns out to be easy peasy once you learn some stupid glitch etc.

I’ll just do a fast pro-cons analysis of this event to make it as fast as possibile, otherwise I would spend ages on this review.

PRO:
-Awesome story instance at begin (Truly awesome, they videos were cool, the fights, the final boss etc) finally a story as cool as the videos in coop of gw1.
-Awesome world change, the tower is simply sweet… remembers me of the tower of babylonia in some ways.
-Like the events and how they’re made, you don’t influence the time needed for the event since they’re made by NPCs, thus making it viable even for slower people.
-Love the design of the new mobs and weapons (except for the sylvari…they’re lamely the same…at least for now).
-Love the new skins of armor etc, can’t wait for the weapon to be obtainable (Marjory and Kasmeere’s ones).

CONS:
-It’s only a pre patch, but it’s a bit inconsistent, i mean…you finish all what you have to do in half a day, to me events should be divided during those two weeks, letting player acces slowly to content, like in the first patches.
-Achievement are too fast (except corrupted ones) …long achievements aren’t nice I know…but this is a bit too much…they take nothing to do and give nothing back, and since it was the main stuff we have to do for TWO WEEKS (unless they put something more next week, but don’t think so).
-Event scaling, c’mon guys…you know that a kittenload of people would do this…monester die too fast (let’s not talk about Krait Witches and let’s only make 1 min of silence for them) the game came out for more than one year, and yet i have to see mobs die like flies…this is not accetable at all, i’m kinda fed up with this friendly towards players Anet have, i do not demand everything hard to do etc…but a bit more it would be good, we go from stuff that need the coordination of 100+ ppl like Tequila…or 5 man teamplay of TA aetherblade patch…from…THIS…where a mob do like 1 atk before getting killed. Anet…get your kitten scaling right because right now it ain’t do, people need to fight…hard is there’s a lot of ppl…and many of them have to die if they can’t play etc let’s stop this skill 1 spam.
-Kinda “stuff already seen”… molten alliance->toxic alliance,feels quite the same ( i know that scarlet is behind both of them,but meh)…but won’t nag too much about it,let’s see what they can do in the next patch/es.

That’s all I can think about it now…maybe i made some more considerations, but can’t remember them. Ended up making it quite long anyway…

Trait reset per Gem Shop

I’m not sure how it’s not appearing for you, AncientYs, but today’s update added a single-use gemstore item that resets trait points.

Seeing as you can already do that at trainers for an essentially nominal fee, including both the trainer fee at waypoint fees to get there, this item is almost purely convenience, which makes it not that different from the Black Lion merchant, trading post, and bank items. I think it’s a silly thing to spend gems on, but if someone wants to use it, they’re welcome to it, and there’s nothing offensive to me in the idea of it.

As for whether resetting traits should be completely flexible and free (GW1) or not (GW2,) I think the system is generally fine as-is.There are days when I think I’d like to try respeccing to a Water-focused Elementalist instead of a fire one, I’ll admit, but the slight hassle involved gives a sense of permanence to my decisions and character concept; I find that commitment rewarding, and it means I don’t have to second guess myself as much.

“I’m fighting destroyers who are immune to burning! I guess I’d better respec.” <- This option sounds like it should make me happy, because I’d be more effective in combat, but I’d actually be less happy, because then I’d have to choose between being more effective with the hassle of having to respec temporarily, or the convenience of not respeccing and just being less powerful. As the game is, I just have to suck it up and fight with a (very minor) disadvantage; that ends up being more rewarding by creating drama. Choice isn’t always a good thing.

You couldn’t change your traits etc in GW1 when you were outside a city…and before nightfall you had to talk with a trainer…so it’s basically the same, except the 3s fee.

a) End boss. Too much luck involved. I’m not complaining about it being too hard to learn mechanics : I’m ok with them. Finished the dungeon once yesterday with my ranger. But today I try to do the same with my mesmer (so that I get meta achievement on my other account) : more than 2 hours fighting the end boss, for no reward because the guy who started the dungeon left.
Not because it is too hard or even we didn’t master the mechanics (before the 1st 2 wipes we did bad, but seriously after them the team was nice : boss was most of the time without shield, we were always pulling holograms to him …). But he has some combos that are a bit too unfair, sometimes inescapable. Being trown to 2-hours-spining-metal is one of them. Having the same spinning metal thrown to you when you are downed … and most of the time when he gets to 5%hp he will down everyone at once.
*There are probably ways of making this a bit less unforgiving/luck-tied, while not completely nerfing the difficulty. For example *
- Spinning metal could disappear earlier. They really feel like they last for 2 years. If a teammates is killed by one of them, he can’t get up, and we can’t rez him for a long part of the fight.
- Remove damage off the 5-knockbacks attack. The knockbacks are powerful enough w/o dmg and we have to be careful not to be in a position that would let this attack thrown us to electric fields.
- Have the boss attack living people as a priority, not throwing spinning metal to downed people. (he could also avoid throwing spinning metal to the platforms that we use to escape electric fields)
- This idea probably goes too far but I’ll tell it anyway : remov the reset mechanics off this boss.

You practically asked to remove everydamage source of this boss lol.
Spinning metal is nice like that, it’s an actual mechanic to cripple the players by reducig the aviable zone they have, plus it’s realistic…it atks far off people with them and he tends to finish almost dead guys like everuthing with a bit of intelligence would do.
Knockbacks aren’t punitive at all, al long as you don’t face the electric field in the mid, removing their damage would be removing a big sourse of his melee dps since his melee normal atk suck balls.
Boss to atk living ppl, hell no as i stated above…this is a plus of gw2.
Remove the reset mechanic , holy moly kitten bacon cupcake NO…they even removed the respawn during a fight, removing the reset from a boss would be so..idk even how to describe it.

Oozes and Anet's Philosophy

Understood what to do in this part in like 1 min by looking at the room and the hint above, plus the name of the mob…took 3-4 tries at first run to get that pulls and knocks worked so well on the fire elemental and that we had to pull them in synchro.
Mobs and AI aren’t that buggy, always worked perfectly fine for me and i did it 8-10 or more times i believe.
This part of the dungeon isn’t much skillbased or what, it’s just teamwork based…much like the new tequatal…
I just hope they don’t nerf this dungeon because people will nag about their own lack of skill and teamwork. (never had problems with the ooze not following me not even once)

I tried to do the “Who’s in charge here?” achievement, but didn’t get it :/ We pulled some mobs and cleared them…then we pulled Spur, killed him and finished off the last group…i, nor the team never disengaged, but one mate got downed if i remember right…any suggestion for it ?

The actual fix to this would be adding in something like “Hylek Alchemy Kits” that equip as an environmental weapon that have the same skills as the turrets but with reduced effects. In fact, I would say make the turrets automated and run by Hylek, let players grab the kits and go to town doing what is needed. That way you encourage having a lot of people. You don’t have 1 or 2 people screwing the event for everyone else. You still have to balance strategy of using the support skills of the kits with doing damage to the dragon. It really is that simple and I’m amazed Anet hasn’t figured this out yet.

Problem is that what makes this event hard is actually the coordination and distribution of the players needed for it…with a reasonin like this you just put all of what i mentioned above to basically 0, since it would become again a mindless zerg with some ppl spamming support in it and jumping when needed…
And besider how could an hylek npc properly launch a buff etc at the zerg, at this point even the armored scale buff would become useless, because hylek will anyway do it efficiently…there could still be a “defense” part,but nothing near what it is right now.
The event is perfectly fine like this, and big servers are hosting on small ones since ours is always full and to give a help for it…it came out from like 3 days, let people actually learn how to do this event properly at least xD

Superior Rune of Perplexity

Do other classes really cause interrupt better than a mesmer? I can’t think of any class that’s better at interrupting than a mesmer.

A thief loses it’s dps if it focuses on interrupts.
A warrior could be good with it
A necro only has fear and can’t fear very often
An elementalist wouldn’t be good with this, don’t even think shocking aura is an interrupt bcs the hit lands
An engineer could be good with this
A guardian wouldn’t fit this rune well,
A ranger wouldn’t fit this rune well either

The only 3 professions that could potentially really utilize this rune set well are the Engi, Warrior, and Mesmer.

I’ll sell the idea that it’s OP for other profs to access to confusion, but 5 stacks for 10 seconds I might consider OP if it were PvP.

And we should consider too that warrior to focus on condition damage should focus on sword as a main weapon..you could put a shield or a mace offhand to interrupt, but it wouldn’t work so well imo…main 2h hammer and double mace would work much better…but they have no skill that gives cond at all ( at least damaging ones)…confusion is nice, but they wouldn’t be able to reliably stack it…you can land 25 interrupts, doesn’t mean you ll hit every time nor interrupt something…plus it’s easier to avoid a melee stun/daze/knock , since they generally have a very peculiar animation…but a ranged stun from a mesmer…or a clone shattering…it’s another story.
To me this rune is a big big big plus to a confusion mesmer…before it lacked the possibility to stack some proprerly (6-8 stack…in a burst…for like ? 6-7 ? meh….) and you coldn’t get a big bonus to its duration either…still i miss a confusion sigil.

2- Because we can’t see the infusion installed on a linked item, someone could come in fractals 20 saying he has 10 Agony Reduction when in reality he has +40% MF and 0 AR in his ascended rings, making the whole run a real pain, in a presumed experienced team.

So? They could do this before. The solution is to kick them and find a new member. The other person I run with and I advertise you must have 15AR to do 20 with us. If they don’t have it (and it’s pretty easy to tell on the first boss that gives agony) we kick them. The patch actually makes it easier for us as we don’t need to restart to bring in a replacement.

4- Could you please explain what is now the point of the fractals ? I couldn’t find one anymore, except maybe the (ugly) fractals skins…

The “point” of fractals hasn’t changed. If there’s no point to them now, there wasn’t one before. Ascended items will eventually be available for all slots, and with multiple ways to acquire them. This is a good thing. There’s also already threads complaining that no one will buy ascended rings with laurels because there’s better things to spend that very limited currency on.

7- Trying to do the new dailies for yesterday and today was a real pain. One hour trying to combo with a friend, the second one trying to find the right mob to dodge him perfectly. After patch, I feel dailies is a punishment more of a fun task to do.

8- Everywhere we can now see aggressive players yelling on everyone else to cast fields, to revive, etc. Really, really not fun. The community certainly didn’t need that. Bots were silent at least !

Now you’re just going off the deep end trying to manufacture complaints. There was an issue with the combo fields achievement which caused it to not function as intended. If dodging took you more than 5 minutes, you’re definitely doing something wrong. (Karkas in Southsun are instant, easy, guaranteed dodges if somehow you can’t “get it to work” in normal play) People were loudmouth, demanding kitten before the patch, and are no more or less so after it.

9- The required skills for the dailies are stupid : dodging for professions that never need to, crafting for people that don’t want to, and I only saw the 2 firsts dailies… I fear what is coming in the next days…

There is no such thing as “professions that never need to [dodge].”

Anet has stated multiple times on this forum that this adjustment is the groundwork for the intended new system that allows you to choose your own dailies from a list.

It is not the game I waited, it’s not the game I wanted, it’s certainly not the game i’ve been advertised months after months, it’s not the game you promise since the release, and it’s definitly not the game I bought.

Please, Anet, do something for (y)our game. I really like it, but this patch and what I saw make me really hesitant to log in again.

These “threats” have gotten so over the top there really aren’t words to describe them. If a change to how daily achievements work is enough to make you “hesitant to log in again” you better find another game to play. If something that silly and trivial causes you even 1% of the heartbreak and struggle you’ve tried to claim in this post, it’s pretty obvious you don’t like the game. But realistically, you’re just upset because something changed and you didn’t ask for it. It’s not a big deal. The changes were almost universally improvements. You’ll live. If it’s that horrible for you, find a different game to play, but don’t try to act like these extremely minor adjustments somehow completely converted a game you liked into one you hated.

This thing was done to prevent ppl from changing worlds basing on population and wvw rank/ who is winninh… the price, not sure, should be based anyway on the population of the server…higher it is…the more it ll cost…so…i’m sorry for him but just collect some money in guild and he ll be able to buy his transfer in no time…1 g for each person in guild is nothing, and you won’t have to pay real money…i know it’s pricey…but they gave you a free alternative too, so we can’t bother too much about cash shop things

Look dude before you bust out your pitchforks and rally all the hillbillies around to attack Frankenstein take a deep breath and realize. That number #1 people like getting new gear in these types of games. #2 Dailies aren’t a treadmill, they happen naturally while you play the game.

25 underwater kills happen naturally?
If you don’t like crafting how does having to craft happen naturally?
Specifically having 10 combo kills happens naturally?

Fractal, dolphin path , 25 kill easy peasy…or just go to any low lvl map and find them, need about what? 2 min ?
You can just refine 10 mats, then sell them…refined mats cost more anyway so it’ better to refine things like ori ores…
10 combo kill is bugged, that’s why many ppl didn’t got it yesterday…it ll work better when they fix it ofc…stil big events as the claw of jormag or dungeons provides it, and ll do it even faster later on after fix…
So …i do not see the point…if you play, you get them…that’s all i see sorry…unless you want to get rewards by sitting in LA.

I am kinda annoyed…this is really a problem to my eyes…i have a guardian…built tank/support and i love to play this way…many dungeon runs becomes much easier just because of me being here. So i’m just so much annoyed by the fact that there isn’t even ONE set with healing power ! ( ye, i know there’s the celestial attribute,but…it’s a totally useless set, you just get medriocre in everything ).
The hell Anet ? you want us to play as YOU wants ? we all know that tough and vit are totally useless against agony, since it ll tear 1/8 of your life anyway, but then…bam ! here comes the healing power ! remove me half life or so with agony ? np ,refilled 3 sec later or even less…so…why we do not put it as an ascended item ? that way tank/support→ gtfo.
But…if you didn’t meant to do that, please put other sets so that ppl could actually enjoy fractal instead of having to do new characters or change build just for it…you can’t run pure dps…you get shotted…ok …you can’t run pure tank/support…you get shotted by agony…
(and talk about power/vit/tough set pls, that isn’t tank, nor will never properly tank that’s just a meatwall destined to fall sooner or later, thus making guard useless considering their low base vit, compared to warriors)
