Why blame Anet for this? It’s the players fault, plain and simple. Take some personal kitten responsibility. The players continually year after year stack and bandwagon to “win”

Simple solution, if you want a challenge and want fair game play then STOP transferring to the bandwagon of the week. Transfer to a med or high server instead of waiting for a stacked server to open.

Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

As the title states, this has happened multiple times in the past including twice this evening. I should of received credit because I killed guards, rammed the gate, and help kill the lord, I was also in the circle during the caps. Why does this happen and can I get reimbursed credit for capping SMC?

I’ve been on FA since launch. I can’t imagine not being part of this server. We are very stable and have great people.

After much thought I decided to transfer to TC. I had a blast my first day helping to kill about a million BG lol.

Thank you everyone for your assistance in helping me decide, much appreciated.

To my old server FA, I have nothing but good things to say. I met some great people and had a blast while I was there the past couple of years. I wish you all the best and you never know what the future holds, I may even be back some day.

To my new server TC and especially CERN, thanks for having me guys. I look forward to our battles together.

It would be sad to see you go, but a little confusing at the same time since I never saw you much get involved in the server community, only post sometimes on the FA and gw2wvw forum. The GvG scene right now is so miniscule and the majority of guilds on FA do not participate in it: TK, Dcon, coVn, Echo, PRO, WP, FTF, to name a few.

That said, I have an account on TC and you might enjoy it because they try more to take care of their militia than FA has, especially now that they are in T1. They have more pugmanders; TBH T1 has more people in general. But militia tends to be militia as everywhere (I’ve been on 5 different servers so far now.) and do not get into community VOIP and do a lot of running and respawning. Other servers deal with the same issues.

I play pretty low key usually, and don’t use the team chat unless there is something to report. I’m in a tiny guild, however I’m on everyday helping the server wherever I can.

I guess you could sum me up just as a common soldier, keeping his mouth shut and just performing his duties to complete the mission

I have been on Fort Aspenwood since launch and I love my server, sadly however I realize that FA does not fit my playstyle as much as I thought and it kills me to leave but I think I may need to find a new home. Specifically T2 is GvG orientated and I do not GVG, and I do not care to GvG. I like all facets of a game not just one area.

I want to be part of a large populated server that has a “server first” or “team before self” mentality. I’m considering Tarnished Coast even though they are our long time nemesis lol.

I like large scale fights, sieges and havoc. My favorite thing to be part of is a long prolonged siege of a keep with all three servers fighting over it, then finally we take it after many battles and much death & carnage.

I play mostly NA Est and would like to join a non GVG guild on that server.

Does anyone have a server/guild to suggest?

“Winning a match” has everything to do with coverage/population. If you think otherwise then you are either very naive or delusional or maybe you’re new to the game but the facts are the facts whether you want to believe or not.

Knowing that another server has an overnight presence that yours does not is one of the greatest demoralizing factors in wvw. It won’t change until Anet addresses the coverage imbalance.

It is a 24/7 game – why should off peak players be punished or rewarded just because they are unable to play for 3-4 hours during primetime?

The biggest problem is that some servers (like my own) are normally outnumbered during the night but still manage to tick high and defeat our foes. Any sort of buff given for outnumbered is merely going to increase our points further and when you are sometimes winning by 60-100k more than the other two servers it is just going to kill the game even faster. Take for example right this very moment in time, ER outnumber all with lots and lots and lots of golems but they are only ticking 40 pts more than ourselves and we’ve wiped them and their golems more than once tonight. Desolation were doing the same as ER until we took their garrison and killed all their golems while ER took their keep and killed all their golems so Deso gave up and went to bed. We never attacked a single structure all night with more than 2 golems.

So you see it has nothing to do with numbers… it is about organisation and not giving up.

It has EVERYTHING to do with numbers/coverage and very little to do with organization and not giving up. The server with the bigger population/coverage ALWAYS wins. Only servers that are stomping their competition think otherwise. Get your head out of the sand.

I’m looking forward to fighting you guys in T2. From FA’s experience with facing SoS for months now, I would recommend that you guys concentrate your recruiting for PST & OCX. The zombie SoS k-train hoards are real during that time and even YB will have a tough time defending against their numbers. Mags died because of it and I’d hate to see it happen to YB. Came from Mag (during the great GvG age) and went to YB (for stability).

YB is missing solid open field GvG groups but oddly I think that makes it a better place for casual and community driven players. YB is super friendly, almost nobody gets in a bunch over losing objectives and everyone seems to pitch in. YB is unified unlike any server I have been on.

This is in direct contrast to Mag and the GvG scene. The T2 fights were impressive and an absolute blast but Mag always felt like the Wild Wild West. Everybody was essentially doing their own thing for better and worse.

IMO introducing GvG into YB would likely begin splitting such a tight knit openly friendly community. Likewise YB’s unity cannot exist in such a highly individualistic GvG environment. Two different styles of play, both valid and fun in their own right. I just don’t think the two can coexist.

Luvpie, you will not be able to revive your GvG scene with any of the possible candidates for T2, YB, DB, CD. Neither of them plays for GvG mostly, and you will not be able to change their playstyles for the sake of a scene that was mostly represented by Maguuma.

Mags had, and probably still has, a bad reputation in lower tiers for their attitude – i remember all too well how they behaved when they dropped down to T3 for a week last time. Justified reputation or not, you will not manage to get any server to become another Maguuma, neither in coverage nor in playstyle. The GvG scene in T2 seems to be dead, YB will not allow to get used in an attempt to revive a playstyle you prefer, at our cost.

I honestly doubt that YB would be welcomed in T2, and most of us do not want to be there. Not because we “fear” T2, we will fight nonetheless when there, but because of the atmosphere and playstyle of the T2 servers SoS and FA. We feel comfortable in T3-4, and during all seasons so far our population grew and fell back to normal afterwards, and that means we cannot compete in T2.

FA and SoS players have repeatedly stated that they would spawn camp us and that we are “not welcome “ in T2. That’s fine, we do not want to be there. FA and SoS will band together to roll over us instead of fighting each other, and it will be very one-sided. THAT is the current style of T2. There is no T3 server that can or will adapt to current T2, maybe it is time for T2 to adapt to the reality of WvW instead.

And please leave recruiting to us.

I can guarantee YB or the next 3rd server for T2 that there will be no 2v1 against them. We absolutely HATE SoS and we focus them 80% of the time regardless of who the 3rd server is.

I mentioned this solution about a year ago that I think would help balance WvW;

Considering that there are 24 servers, base gem transfer costs on the ranking of a server. Transferring to the the highest ranking servers would cost the most, and the lowest ranked servers costing little or nothing to transfer. i.e currently BG would cost 2400 gems, TC 2300 and so on down to AR would be 100 and ET would be 0 respectively. The gem transfer costs would be reset on Friday the same as the match reset.

I think this would be incentive for players to transfer to the lower tier servers and would help prevent stacking.

I know this isn’t an end all be all solution for fixing WvW but it would help. Thoughts?

The TC dolyak parade tonight was fun overall, except for a few trolls on each server attacking people in costume. Not cool you baddies.

I’ve only ever been on FA so I can’t speak for other servers, however if you are looking for a great community look no further than us. We are almost always the underdog and we lose the PPT game most times, but we are a fights server and we have a very stable core but we don’t concern ourselves with PPT, only out of necessity to stay in T2. I for one like the stability and the people the most about FA so I never had a reason to leave.

Look, the match ups for this tourney are the biggest joke since – since I don’t even know. Mag should have been dropped FORCIBLY by ANet. Take a look at the coverage. You guys at ANet all say you listen to metrics. Did the metrics not tell you that Mag had maybe 1/10th the coverage of TC?

I think its more like 1/20 for Mags and 1/5 for FA compared to TC. Even if Mags and FA were to 100% 2v1 TC we would both still get stomped very badly. This match is laughable. WvW needs a complete overhaul to save it, what a mess. Fix your kitten Anet!

Sometimes I feel bad for servers with lopsided coverage. You may be legitimately trying to help the weaker timezones who aren’t having fun but it’s hard for people outside the server to look past the 100k-margin wins for months on end that you probably can’t even help because your enemies simply aren’t playing during your strong hours. So your “strong timezone” becomes terrible at the game itself because they never have to fight and never get to improve (see: DB SEA, SoS OCX whenever they roll higher tier servers), while your weak timezones mostly attract bandwagon-type guilds trying to stack on a server with existing offhours coverage (once again, DB and SoS) or the occasional “l33t for fights open field!!!11” types that quit or transfer after about one month. Must suck to be on those servers.

If you are interested in an alternative to EoTM, please transfer to SoS where they hit doors all night long. They obviously don’t know what to do when there is resistance since FA has a waypoint in SoS’s Bay (at time of post). I’m sure that will be fixed when enough FA fall asleep that SoS can fight nothing but doors.

That isn’t a meaningful contribution at all. It is just bitterness and self pity. SoS hits doors all night long because Maguuma had a cry and quit and all FA ever does is hide behind said WP on siege. Cry more about hitting doors all night or get off the siege and and come out to fight.

So let me get this straight…SoS “wins” every week by 100k+ so you need to stack your “lighter” timezones to be competitive? I just plain do not understand the logic here.

I don’t normally agree or like 2v1’s, but I think it would be beneficial for both Mags and FA to put aside their differences and join forces for the tournament. At least the T1’s would have something to fight and it would prevent Mags and FA from being spawn camped all day. But unfortunately I don’t think this will become a reality.

Everyone please go to SoS, they are awesome at blobbing, they often tic 500+ and destroy other servers with PVD!! Want proof? look at Magumma! (they were a yucky fights server) Even though SoS is FULL, Transfer to the “winning” server today!

Trust me I feel your pain. TC has been stuck with JQ and BG for god knows how long now, it’s the reason why I don’t WvW anymore. When we drop down to tier 2 for a week or two I’ll rejoin WvW, not saying TC stay in tier 2, but a break from Tier 1 would be refreshing and worth playinv WvW again.

I moved from Tarnished Coast after recently moving to TC thinking maybe they would be able to win one time out of four or five, but, because they have no way of winning and are in the wrong tier as many servers are now I was forced move again.

Losing week after week is demoralizing even in a game.

Guess Anet wants to keep people spending money for moves by not fixing WvW.

I play NA almost every night and we have been out-maned a lot lately, not sure why therefore I think we could use a bit of help.

To OP; I think you have been away from the game too long and do not realize what is going on since you last played. I’ve been playing WvW almost everyday since launch and can fill you in a bit;

No one wants T1 except for JQ & BG. I don’t even think TC wants to be there. T2 will hopefully stay the way it is, (for the fights) and I’m fairly certain that SoS wants T2 not T1, that is why they stopped recruiting guilds (to balance out T2). There have been very close matches lately in T2 and I can safely say that all 3 servers don’t want things to change.

I suggest you speak with your server mates before making elaborate plans. If you like the PPT game, my advise to you is to transfer to T1.

AARP card holder here lol (can follow instructions, no meds or drugs, raring to go after 1st cup of coffee and sunrise walk. hahaah) . So I generally wake up and play at the crack of dawn or prior to it. Which would be early afternoon to afternoon EU time when there is no que.

But sounds like your server does not need highly experienced people, that have fought more battles against JQ and BG then anyone on your server most likely . (formerly hod/prx)

Don’t let a couple people sour your opinion of our server. I have been on FA since launch and I can guarantee you that the vast majority of FA will welcome you with open arms.

It is true that we are not actively recruiting for NA, however we do not turn away or discourage anyone that wants to be a part of our family.

Although I don’t believe in calling out fellow server mates on most topics, they are wrong in their opinion of not wanting new people coming to our server of their own choice. Besides, you purchased the game, and you can transfer wherever the heck you want to right?

If you like fights, FA is the logical choice. We are in T2 and IMO it’s the best tier.

For all the complaining about Anet and what they need to do for WvW, the players could do some things to make it more fun and interesting too. But they don’t, they never do.

They just take the path of least resistance. Go for the weaker server and then complain about blowouts. Bring Omegas unnecessarily creating a blowout situation and then complain about lack of good fights. Stack servers and then complain about population imbalance. Etc, etc, etc…

I gotta agree with you. Some people complain about imbalance, blowouts, stacking etc etc, then do exactly what they are complaining about. Boggles the mind.

Here is something these people should live by…………“If you aren’t part of the solution then you are part of the problem”

I think I speak for FA when I say we couldn’t possibly care less. FA has a very solid WvW community that isn’t going anywhere. If others want to join and leave, that’s fine, but most of us have been here a very long time.

I would also request that seasons bandwagoners & server transferring gypsies not come to FA. This wouldn’t be the right fit for you or us. FA is a very stable server, we have been rank 5-8 for most of if not all of our entire existence. Alot of our people have been here since launch (including yours truly). I would only recommend FA to whomever wants a stable server with great people and community. We do not want seasons trinket hunters or people seeking easy wins. Instead we want loyal, dedicated players to join our family, and to kick kitten in T2. Our server is a true fighting server, we fight the fight!

I am an active player, I play usually around 4 hours a day, very active WvW player

Servers are already ranked from 1-24, why not make the gem transfer cost reflect the servers ranking. For example JQ transfer cost would be 2400 gems, TC 2300 gems, BG 2200 and so on down to the, 23 ranked server would be 100 gems and the 24 ranked server would be 0 gem transfer cost.

The gem transfer cost would be updated each Friday after reset to reflect a server either moving up or down in ranking and the gem transfer cost would be be reflected accordingly.
