yeah too bad i couldn’t make it
They are disabling it to further prevent key farming!! DOOOMM!!! Dhuuuummmm!!!

Daredevil is the worst, they simply removed 1 previously available MINOR trait, recycled it and called it a day. But DD’s real mechanic is locked in their GM trait, so basically they are trapped with 2/3 of a trait line.
And not to even mention the recycled and clunky animations.
so what’s the time and place

Experience with thief: I have mained thief since headstart (1378 hours) with several long breaks. I also have 2 other thieves at 80 (combined for 140 hours).Mostly speedrunning dungeons with meta build. WvW once in a while.
I feel like i have hit my personal ceiling and looking for advice to increase my skills as a thief.
It seems to be highly doubtful pve-wise. Dungeons are dead(in other words, no real updates), so the zerker meta should remain the same. I doubt they will make changes to the pre-HoT open world.
Only HoT content may or may not require new gear stats.
Go try a zerker group who only pushes #1 and you will see how fast and far you will go. It will be just as slowly as a tanky group, due to constant wiping.
Besides, this changes nothing at all. Dungeons are dead and won’t receive any true updates anyway.
Just use the lfg to find players with the same mindset instead of bashing ppl with opposite ideas. It’s a win-win situation for every single one.
Thieves get rifles, to be used as 2-handed warclubs.
What happened to “play the way you want”? When ppl use meta, they play the way they want. Those who don’t use the meta, they play the way they want.
If players want to take their time, they shouldn’t expect to have the same rewards as those who practice and speedrun them every night.
While the content could’ve been designed better, right now it’s not. The ppl who cry about the zerker meta, they will cry about the next meta as well.
Players are not forced to play the zerker meta, but on the flip side, they must also reap what they sow, a slower pace.
Inspecting or`the incurable curiosity of men`

Extra features are always welcome, but tbh i am fairly neutral about it. This so-called elitism is overblown. If ppl join groups without reading the description and get kicked, what did they expect?
Most groups don’t even have requirements and if you get kicked, then what? Just join another group or start your own. I honestly don’t see what the big deal is.
Let those who want to inspect stats do their thing and you do yours, inspect the skin.
well, the rifle looked so shiny thieves had to steal it. Only to find out they can’t use, so they stick a bayonet on it and use it like a spear! AoE melee weapon set…Or they hold the barrel and use the stock as a blunt weapon, CC weapon.
What if they decide to make the Rifle a melee weapon, the opposite of Mesmer GS
Oink – invul tank http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Oink
Don’t blame it on zerkers that they won’t introduce harder content. Anyone who didn’t know the mechanics and refusing to adapt failed. Including all the special snowflakes with their unique builds.
i was lucky enough to get 2 Storms from the toilet, swapped those for a Spark
Must be level 20 in order to use the level 20 scroll
Don’t like zerkers or trash skipping? Make your own group and write down your requirements. Like-minded players will join you and zerkers will avoid you.
If you join a group with requirements you don’t fulfill, you can’t complain when you get kicked.
I am not saying there isn’t a problem with the content, but ppl complain about zerking like they are being forced to be one, when the that is completely false. No one is forcing you to be a zerker and join them.
It’s not an exploit, the key farmer plays the way he wants within the rules.
It seems to me, you want to be the only one making gold using gemstore bought keys.
Or, your way of playing the game is the right way and everyone else is wrong.
can’t reject someone who has joined through lfg
KB in the AA so i need to constantly chase my own target around. No thanks.
Thanks for having me, it was a blast.
Extremely valuable for those who want to learn about arah and running in general.
i’d like to join, but i am on call saturday, if it’s not a hassle
If it were up to me, i wouldn’t have let Taimi on the team, nor would any of the current members.
Taimi is smarter than the average progeny, but in no way smarter than some of the adults. So the things Taimi did, another Asura could have done it faster and more efficient. In no way would we be walking to another WP right now.
It is so, because Anet wrote Taimi in, not because other Asura weren’t smart enough.
Taimi has on several occasion proven to be both irreplaceable and dangerous to the team. Do you really want that device in her hands when she decides to throw a tantrum? The device can now be examined and upgraded by older and smarter Asura.
While i did not like the way it was done, but it was the right choice.
Players don’t like unsolicited advice, give them tips and advice on how to be a better ranger or any class, will be answered with either, I play how i want or you are an elitist.
If i created the group (when i do, i post specifically what i want), i’d kick and if i joined, i’d leave. No drama that way.
I never wanted to be the boss of DE 2.0 anyway. When they called me boss the first time, i actually raised an eyebrow.
I think it would be better if the individual Orders were more central in the main plot. It would be awesome if the PC would lead an elite/veteran insert your Order squad instead. Or an all-star Pact unit to save money on VA’s and writers.
DE 2.0 feels like a team that needs babysitting from the PC or else they’d kill themselves.
That’s my 2 coppers.
But Logan said, he will not be returning to Kryta until it is safe. That was his answer to Caithe, when she asked him if he was going back to his queen.
So i don’t expect to see him in Kryta till the dragons are dead, unless he meant something else.
Talking to them after Victory or Death suggests, they will stick together and fight the other dragons. And Logan specified that he won’t be returning to Kryta until he knows it is safe.
Compare GW1+22 months to GW2+22 months content-wise. Sure they are 2 different games, but the same company, different business model. The GW1 model offered more and more importantly, better content for cash.
While in GW2, we get less and inferior content (compared to GW1), for free.
I love the GW franchise and i am willing to pay for quality content. The way things are, i will still play the content, but refrain from buying any gems with real money.
How about dual wielding dwarves who dual wield hammers?
For pve/dungeons, base armor is more than enough.
On my War, when using For Great Justice or on my Guard when using Empower or the virtues, the stacks of might already at 25 tends to tick again to the max duration, so i assume everything that gives might resets the duration of a 25 stack.
It resets to max duration because they are replaced.
Extra might after reaching 25 is redundant because you could’ve brought something else. The other reason is, if the original 25 stacks were from blasted combo field, they would last 20sec each.
Imagine someone coming along and overwriting those stacks with 5sec ones.
But it totally depends on the situation. Can you kill the boss during those 20sec? What is the duration of the original 25 stacks?
Regen and retribution are pretty useless in pve, vigor if you need/want that extra endurance. Fury and stability (situational) are absolutely great. Aegis should be used to avoid that big hit, kinda useless to have more duration. Prot is more useful in high fractals, in dungeons it is rarely needed.
Well yeah red is faster and dakka is gun. The melee weapon is the choppa. But dakka sounds much better than choppa. Blue should also provide more MF and FGJ should be “WAAAGHHH!!” :P
Why do pugs always want multiple warriors for AC, preferably at least 3 or 4?
Is there something I don’t know or are all those just kittened? That isn’t an AC issue only. I got kicked again from CoE as a second ele, because they wanted 3 warrior, 1 guard and 1 ele only. :/
Of course the reason was the usual “warr deepz is da bestest”.
You mean “RED warr deeps is da bestest becuz theyz gotz the biggest dakka (GS)”
We simply got better that we no longer need an anchor guard.
It is not about free and paid content. It is about good quality content. I paid for Factions and Nightfall and i loved them. I wouldn’t give a single penny for scarlet.
I would rather pay for good quality content than getting free stuff that ain’t good. I still jump back on GW 2, make some gold, grab a new skin and shelf it once more. I know GW2 is not GW1, but if they had actually had the same mindset as GW1, this game would be so much better.
Full clerics necro healers can now make legitimate claims of carrying dungeon groups, just like healshout wars, cleric staff camping guardians and bearbows!! Not only can they heal, they are now the last one standing as well.
If swapping weapons wipes the stacks, then the bearbows and staff campers have the perfect reason to no swap weapons. IF they have the sigil in the first place :P
+1
YARR!! This would be totally awesome, just make all armor skins, it only “becomes” light/medium/heavy armor depending on who is wearing it.
Started and finished my Incinerator in 2 months. I had been playing since launch but never bothered with them. And later decided on a whim to make one.
I had about 100g when i started and to get enough gold, i ran all dungeons paths pretty much everyday (except SE p2, CoF p3, Arah p4). With the dungeon tokens, i managed to forge 2 Storms, each sold for @300g.
I didn’t farm nor mined for mats, got everything through gold. At the time i still had about 3mill karma and enough badges from the achieve boxes.
EDIT: And a friend lent me about 200g.
For dungeons, just use the meta, 25/30/0/0/15 or the 25/30/015/0 one. Dps-wise, we are one of the best.
Thieves do fairly good on the support front. Blinds, vulnerability, weakness, a spammable blast finisher, a projectile blocker, a pull and ofc stealth.
The sword is a great mob clearing weapon, paired with a pistol and SoM, you can basically “tank” mobs infinitely. Swap to daggers for bosses and keep a SB for might stacking.
I have never had any trouble joining pugs with my zerk thief, though the pugs i join are zerker groups. In dungeons, thieves are pretty good, dps and support wise.
The “Bad” category consists of rangers and necros lately, thieves are quite welcome nowadays judging from lfgs.
The stacking meta isn’t very favorable for thieves, since it is hard to see what the boss is doing with all those effects. But it can be done nonetheless, just not as easy as some of the other classes.
I usually write a very very long msg with the paths at the end. Something like “Please be full meta berserker builds. Thanks. Also i am writting a long lfg for ppl who read. P1.” or something ridiculous like that.
A short lfg and ppl tend to filter everything you wrote and only see the paths you are running. You can make yours a tad longer by adding gearcheck to it.
If full melee is exploiting the monster’s ability to use ranged attacks, then ranging them is exploiting the monster’s inability to use melee attacks.
If all 5 members of your group are good in meleeing bosses, even if they don’t bring it to a corner, they still be stacking on the boss. Or would you kick 4 of them, so you can invite 4 other ranged players?
Once players get more experienced, they will make the transition to melee, though in tankier gear. After learning the boss’s tells, they will switch to more glassier gear. It’s the evolution of your skills.
GW2 was marketed as not having the holy trinity. Why did you buy the game?
Both are great in pve. Also tanking doesn’t exist in GW2. Where monsters can 1-shot you on regular basis in dungeons, even in full bunker-mode. Both are self-sufficient.
The warrior buffs offensively, while the guard bring defensive buffs. Dps-wise, a fully buffed guard is only 3rd behind eles and thieves, but that hardly happens in pugs. Warriors just drop their banners, fire off “For Great Justice!” and DPS away. Aside from dodging and rezzing teammates (or Battle Standard), they mostly concentrate on their rotations.
Compared to the warrior, a good guard needs to pay attention to his/her teammates. Do they need a certain condition removed? The boss’s big attack coming up? Use aegis to protect your team. Timing reflects, bring stability when needed. All while doing your own rotations.
Also ppl tend to believe that vitality/toughness/healing power affect the guard’s best support skills. It doesn’t. The guard’s best support skills comes in the form of blinds, reflects, boons, vulnerability and condi removal. Basically everything that is NOT healing. All this can be done while in dps setup and be good survival-wise.
In the end, it all about what your find the most fun class, roll both and find out for yourself.
Rangers are great at spamming LB#4 to save those zerk warriors from getting 100B-ed by monsters.
Joking aside, a well-built ranger is a great boon for the team, sadly most don’t. Also make your own groups with your own rules. And if ppl ever read your lfg msg, it will solve 99% of lfg related issues.
