While we normally don’t respond to rumors, this one is so far off base, that I’ll go ahead and clearly state it is 100% incorrect… by a long shot. :P
Hey folks.
Just a reminder to play nice in here. Name-calling, rudeness, disruptive behavior, etc will not be tolerated. We’ve made quite a number of reminders in here already so take heed and follow the rules. If someone else breaks them, report the post rather than respond to it. Responding to such posts only makes the thread even that much uglier.
Thanks!
As noted by Jeffrey Vaughn earlier, “We’re testing a fix now, though I don’t have an ETA for when it will go live. Most likely it will be included with the next monthly update, since that’s when content changes are pushed out.” The team is aware and working on the issue, so this thread will be closed. Thanks for the feedback!
There is a lot of off topic posting and general chatter happening in this thread lately. Remember that this thread is for guild recruitment only. Talk of battles, congratulations, etc needs to happen in another post. Last warning folks, so please heed it
Since the issue appears to be answered, we’ll be closing the thread.
Leaderboards will be revealed when they are ready. We apologize for the delay, but spamming the forums is not the way to handle your frustration. Please be advised that such action is against the Code of Conduct ( https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/forum-code-of-conduct ) you all agreed to abide by. Violators will not enjoy the consequences.
If the incident were reported to Support, it would be investigated and may result in punishment if appropriate.
The development team is sent feedback and suggestion reports from the Community team 5 days a week (sorry – even we need a little time off, haha). They are extremely busy working on the game, but come and answer posts when they can.
Keep the suggestions, feedback, thoughts, ideas, and constructive complaints ( ) coming so we have plenty to give them each day.
Thanks for taking the time to share, but just as we don’t allow developer named threads to continue, we need to close this one as well.
Thanks for the laughs, but this thread has run its course and started to go off the rails so we’ll be closing it now.
While the necroing of this thread was humorous, it should have been closed long ago. As such, it’s time to say goodbye.
Update notes are now live! Thanks for your patience all!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-January-28-2013
Hi folks.
We know everyone is looking forward to the upcoming patch so we’re consolidating all patch anticipation messages here.
Thanks for both the thoughts, and your patience, as we continue to battle gold sellers. Thanks too for all the reports the players have sent in to assist us. We greatly appreciate it!
(edited by CC Dalmarus.8397)
Knowingly making any false reports, whatever the reason, is not allowed. Please refrain from such actions in the future.
The correct address is exploits@arena.net, rather than exploits@arenanet.com.
Hope this clears up any confusion. Thanks for taking the time to send a report as well!
Hey folks.
We understand everyone is excited to hop in and experience the fun and excitement of all the Wintersday content. As we mentioned earlier, the game update will arrive at sometime today, Pacific Time (which is the time zone in which our development studio is based). We do not have a specific time at which it will go live.
The first event which will occur at a specific time will happen tomorrow, December 15, per the schedule on the website.
Remember: you will have until January 3 to enjoy the content.
“Area of effect heals and boons now prioritize players’ minions and NPC”
Eh? I hope the opposite was meant.
That is indeed the case. Talk about an ill-timed typo
Here’s how it should read: “Area of effect heals and boons now prioritize players over minions and NPCs.”
Sorry for the confusion!
In regards to number 1, that was an ill-timed typo error – here’s the corrected version: “Area of effect heals and boons now prioritize players over minions and NPCs.”
Sorry about any confusion!
While we appreciate the intention, surveys and petitions are not allowed on the forums. Please know that even though the team is unable to respond to every question asked, they are read and considered. I know everyone would love to get a response to everything they desire, but if the team took the time to do that, they wouldn’t have time to work on the game.
Greetings Heroes of Tyria,
Last weekend we released our free Lost Shores mini-expansion, which introduced a new level 80 map, a brand new PvP map, over 400 new items and rewards, as well as The Fractals of the Mists—an infinite dungeon that increases in difficulty the deeper you progress.
We’re very excited about the new content, and from the reactions we have seen, so are many of you. Players have already spent an incredible amount of time in the new Fractals dungeon, and their reaction to it has been phenomenal. A lot of players really enjoyed the trailblazing aspect of unveiling the new Southsun Cove map, specifically the feeling of discovery and being part of the land grab.
Having said that, we’re also aware that there were certain aspects of the event that could have worked better than they did, and thanks to your excellent feedback we’ll be working toward strengthening this type of content moving forward. At ArenaNet, we always try to push the boundaries of how we build online worlds, and we thank you for your patience and collaboration as we pioneer into unknown territories. We’ve seen people saying that they really liked the principle of using events to unveil new content, but we need to tighten up the methods by which they are deployed. We take these comments to heart, as it is our goal to always deliver content of the highest quality.
We want to extend a huge “thank you” to all of the players who attended the Lost Shores event over the weekend. We really enjoyed playing with you all and we learned a great deal about the broad spectrum of content we offered. Our sincere thanks for all your feedback and for being part of the journey as we continue to build upon the world of Guild Wars 2.
We also want take the opportunity to talk a little bit about what we have coming into the game soon from a high-level standpoint, an aperitif if you like before our Thanksgiving celebrations. After the holiday we’ll be doing a number of community Q&As and live community conferences where you can ask us questions and get the down-low on how we are evolving the world of Tyria.
Here’s a general rundown of what we are working towards over the upcoming months:
- Revamping all of our existing dungeons (Story and Explorable versions) through rebalance and overhauled encounters.
- Adding new dungeons to the Fractal of the Mists.
- Adding more variation to creatures, enhancing our open world scaling system, as well as evolving many events and experiences across Tyria.
- Fixing and improving existing content throughout the game, and better tying it into the overall sense of player progression within Guild Wars 2.
- Building on the Southsun Cove’s persistent content.
- Adding new Guild content and Guild progression features.
- Continuing to evolve PvP into an E-sport as outlined here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/structured-pvp-iceberg/
- Adding brand new content to World vs. World as well as adding new reward progression.
- Continuing to build upon the story and adventures of Guild Wars 2.
So from all of us here at ArenaNet, we hope you have a fantastic holiday and we look forward to seeing and speaking to you all next week—that is if we don’t see you in-game first!
-Chris Whiteside, Studio Design Director
If you have constructive suggestions you’d like to make, please do so in the Suggestion sub-forum. Thanks!
Hi all.
Due to the amount of time the event took to run on a character, swapping to another character to run the instance again on a different overflow server is not considered an exploit by the development team. While there was an extremely small chance for individuals to jump to an overflow that required little effort to complete, the majority of players participating in the final event put in a lot of time and work so as such, they were entitled to receive the same reward for completing the event again. This was designed as such to allow those players who couldn’t hop on exactly at 12 noon PST an opportunity to participate in Sunday’s event.
Thanks for your feedback, which we’ll be sure to consider for future events, but for this event, this thread and topic are closed.
We have a team looking into disconnection problems that prevented some people from receiving their event rewards.
We will implement a solution so that people who participated will get their rewards, but this takes work on our end, so it will not happen today.
Keep an eye on our forums and social media channels, we will let you know once we have the solution in place.
Thank you, and we apologize that you were unable to claim your rewards.

Thanks for the suggestion, Timebomb. If anyone else has suggestions of their own, don’t be sure to create a thread yourself. That’s what this sub-forum is for.
Thanks for the feedback and patience everyone. The team is investigating these issues as we speak. Please continue to let us know if the event has not kicked off on your server (overflow servers too). Also, let us know if you are in an overflow server and the event did kick off. Thanks!
Keep an eye on the area around Fort Marriner waypoint–the event will kick off when construction is complete on the catapults. Note: Catapult completion time may vary a bit between overflows.
Cool pics folks. Thanks for sharing! Keep them coming.
The amount of tokens you receive increase with each scale so keep going!
Here’s some more information for a little help
All incidents of in-game harassment should be reported to our Customer Support team using the in-game ticketing system. Just like we don’t permanently ban anyone on the forums for first time offenses, the same goes in-game. The more you report, the better the game world will be. Thanks!
On Friday November 16th at noon PST (20:00 GMT) the weekend will kick off with an Event in Lion’s Arch that you don’t want to miss. This will trigger events in other parts of Tyria as well.
*On Saturday November 17th at noon PST (20:00 GMT), another phase will kick in.
Each phase is triggered by a special event, but you will be able to enjoy additional content afterwards even if you cannot make the kick-off time. There is one exception:
The event will culminate in a big Finale on Sunday November 18, make sure you will not miss it. This will be a onetime only event chain that will run multiple hours, and it will kick off at noon PST (20:00 GMT). Again, this will only run once, so make sure you will be there! There will be plenty of content available to enjoy that will remain permanently in the world as a result of the outcome of this event on Sunday.
We will give you more details once we get closer to the event, but wanted to give you an early heads up so you can plan accordingly.
Eva’s answer is correct. Thanks for the question!

Thanks for the discussion all, but there is already a thread to discuss this topic. Please continue the discussion here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Thoughts-on-Ascended-Gear-Merged-threads
Thanks!
Hi folks.
In the interest of allowing the worlds to have a place to discuss their matches, we’re going to re-open this thread one last time.
Let me be perfectly clear here first though – we have taken the time to clean this thread up, and trust me, there was a lot to be cleaned out.
These threads are for discussing WvWvW calmly, constructively, and without personal attacks. If you can’t show good sportsmanship, refrain from calling players or guilds out on what you perceive to be cheats or unjust actions, and be polite, this thread is not for you.
I have re-opened this thread, but note that it comes with a caveat… players ignoring the Code of Conduct will not be given a free or lenient path. If you see someone breaking the rules, report the post (click the little black flag in the bottom right-hand corner of the offending post). Do not be the person that violates the rules by responding in kind.
With that, this thread is now open – remember to play fair and play nice. Failure to do so will result in the permanent closure of this thread.
Thanks!

Alright folks, here’s the scoop -
As you can see, this thread has been gutted because the things being discussed were completely off topic. This thread isn’t for talking about how you hate X guild, why there are no orbs in the game at the moment, who moved to what server, what you think about PvP design, why your dog ate your homework, or how the Carebears were your favorite cartoon Saturday mornings during the 80s (what?).
In other words, please keep to the topic at hand in the original post. Do not be the person that derails the thread again or violates the Code of Conduct in here. If you see someone else do either of these, do not respond! Just click the little black flag on the player’s post and report it so the Community team can investigate.
Thanks for listening and your cooperation all! Enjoy!
We have found the issue and fixed it, and it’s going to pushed as part of an upcoming content update. I do not have a specific date at this time, but it is a priority and I apologize for the wait. Please understand that even “simple” fixes can affect seemingly unrelated content and require an extended testing period, which is why we’re not able to hotfix every issue immediately.
• Raw candy corn nodes will no longer periodically appear in game.
Thanks for the discussion all, but its time to lay this thread to rest. Everyone in the game is not only allowed , but is actively encouraged, to play whatever gender/race combination they wish and whatever sex they are in real life has absolutely no bearing on that. In other words, get back out there and enjoy the game however you see fit!
Thanks for the feedback, Trenith. This topic has run its course and will now be closed.
Thanks for the feedback, Grimjester.
Thanks for the feedback, dybryd.
This thread has more than run it’s course so it’s time to say goodbye. /wave
As with the majority of our patches, there should be no downtime. Any patch notes will be made available sometime after the completion of the patch.

Thanks for the feedback, Loyheta.
We have your answer stickied above, right here!

Plans for next Halloween are still a little way away, so at this time, we cannot give a definitive answer.
Thanks for the feedback all. As Jonathan stated, the developers are extremely busy working on the game, going to meetings, etc, but they do read the forums in the brief moments they’re allowed to breath.
