The feels are intense in this thread ;_;
Tribulation Mode is the SAB version of Cat Mario.
It’s supposed to be troll and funny (thus April Fools).
The OP lose all his credibility when he say “mesmer are actually top tier”, you might be stuck in the S1.
Pretty sure me and other 3/4 mesmer in the entire game are still playing GW2 with a main mesmer char.
But yeah, the 6 second of auto evade, so balanced… How someone can just even think about that?
The actually top tier profession are Necro/Scrapper/Thief. Mesmer are pretty much dead in every single game mode.Sorry to say it, man, but Thief is far from top tier. Necro/Scrapper/Rev/Ele take that cake. The rest are as follows from best to worst:
Druid > Mesmer > Thief > Warrior.
If you try to play thief as a 1v1 and team fighting class, you will not have much success with it. What makes thief so good in spvp is their insane mobility that allows them to dash around the map and even shadowstep up walls to get to the capture points faster than any other class. With the bunker meta gone (thank you!) thieves are even more relevant!
Just don’t worry about fighting and focus on taking points for your team and away from the enemy team and you’ll just win every game.
It could be worse… It could be a LOT worse…
Thief is already top tier.
Juuuust sayin
There would be no reason not to choose heavy armor.
This sounds awesome, but it would require the entire armor system be overhauled.
I’ve been testing out a few builds over the last few months. I can finally confirm that:
“Staff is love, Staff is lyf.”
You don’t need marauders to survive the missed greens protection is enough to survive it with 1k health left. Go for the most toughness in your group (preferably as least as possible) and this is how it can look like https://youtu.be/x_NMqxVQLFs
If your team has a lot of downs and your healer isn’t at the boss you can easily self sustain this is making thief a really save choice for tanking.
That’s awesome haha
Thanks for the video, and your awesome guide on metabattle
Are there any videos of it?
What does it mean when it says “reverts all your progress”?
Can this please be a thing? Is this a thing? Can someone make this a thing?

I’m really thinking about switching from warrior to thief as well.
Daredevil looks really fun and kitten, and daredevil tanking sounds really fun and unique.
Edit: I typed “unique” and the filter kitten’d it.

Crush my enemies. See them driven before me. Hear the lamentations of their women.

“This answers my question.”
I’d rather they slightly increase the attack speed on HB.
Make it a little more like release HB
I know that warriors aren’t the best in PvP atm, and a lot of our skills are simple (and a bit boring), and yet I still see tons of people playing warriors.
This is not a complaining or sarcastic question, but rather a question to those veteran players who have stayed loyal to their warriors even in lame times.
So what keeps you guys playing warrior as your main?
I cringed when you compared Gw2 to Tera grind. Trust me, I know first hand what the grind in Tera can do to a man.
Also, you don’t necessarily NEED to have full ascended to do raids and high-end fractals. Just save up your laurels and buy some nice trinkets, and get an ascend armor piece or two and you are completely ready for raiding. And to top it all off, there is very little RNG involved in getting gear in Gw2—you just gotta get the drop and you are clear; no bull-kitten enchanting involved
Memories of Tera…. shivers
No game THAT similar to Archeage could be good.
I’d have to say Thief :P
I also love playing tanks in mmos, but I didn’t let that ruin Gw2 for me. I’d like to encourage you to try out other classes; there’s surely at least one that you enjoy. Find a class that you like and just stick to it. If you like guardian because it’s supportive and tanky, then go with that.
You call yourself a “DPS” as if that’s a bad/inferior role to be. There are no “DPS” roles in the game, so you shouldn’t have that mindset. Just forget about the “holy trinity,” because that’s a dying system and nearly every upcoming and new mmo has gotten rid of. If you want to be an unkillable, unrealistic, dungeon tank, then go play World of Warcraft version 102830. Guild Wars 2 is an mmo that changes things. This game has a huge amount of unique aspects that make it different from other mmos. Players that come to the game expecting the normal mmo features that EVERY other mmo has will be disappointed.
You should definitely try this build out:
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Berserker_-_LB_S/T_Maximum_Condition
It’s condi rather than crit, but it’s a lot of fun
If you’re just trying to run from Point A to Point B, channel your inner Metal Gear Solid and try to avoid getting aggro in the first place. The most notable mobs to avoid are those that have access to gap closing skills such as smoke scales are those with high speed such as pocket raptors. Fortunately pocket raptors have very low hp can can be killed fairly quickly.
Also the Rolling Devils that chase you across the map.
There are short cutscenes with your character, though the long and “epic” cutscenes don’t.
And they got rid of the dumb 2-person dialogue scenes from the original personal story. It’s like Living World’s system of having your character talk in the world with a speech bubble avoid their head.
So have neglected most instanced PvE content and was wondering if the majority of PuG groups “check” your gear before inviting you. If yes, how do they know what your gear is like?
I came from a game with lots of elitist that did this and in curious if Gw2 is the same.
I don’t think that would be worth it.
You’d might as well just buy the expansion. Even if you have no interest in exploring the new areas or completing the story, there are still things that would benefit you.
I want everything on the list other than DPS meter.
The game is decent, but it’s nothing that would be a threat to Guild Wars 2.
Blade and Soul is simply 10% combat and 90% fan service.
Try it out if you want, but don’t expect to stay for long. Just my opinion though.
Balthazar bless you, OP
Didn’t dodge Kappa
Even though I love the idea multiple weapon skill slots, there would still be meta builds that provide the optimal efficiency with each weapon.
Hate the whole idea of gliding coming to the core game(purchased not F2P). Can’t afford HoT. 1st they make it difficult for small guilds (trying to be polite, but difficult is a far tamer description of what I actually think) Now they bring Hot mechanics to the core, to rub more salt into the wounds.
Please don’t make this another one of those threads. The OP had a simple question. It’s been answered. Let’s just leave this one thread at that.
Thank you.
Blade and Soul is so popular on Twitch because it is newly released.
The game is great though.
So it’s ANet’s fault that your internet disconnected you?
I’d just like to remind everyone that GuildWars 2 is an mmo. It’s a multiplayer game. Any mmo that allows you to play all content solo isn’t doing it right.
I’d rather have people running around with interesting or lore-friendly names than everyone having names like “Box,” or “Execute.”
ANet please fix this asap!
I can’t buy weapons from the trading post until this issue is resolved!
I think the Frozen Maw needs the most attention.
It’s pretty much just 5 minutes of smacking the boss until it dies.
(It also kills your fps)
Hi everyone
My mouse has been randomly disconnecting a lot recently. When my mouse disconnects and reconnects while playing Gw2, my cursor gets stuck on my screen and won’t hide itself when I go into action camera, or rotate my screen.
I plan to replace the mouse when I can, but does anyone know of a way to force the mouse to hide itself and work properly when my mouse hiccups?
Thanks
Wow
I’m just hearing about this and I’m already insanely hyped about it! Does anyone know when this update is planned to go live?
I really miss the old adrenaline system, pre nerf.
The leap stun burst on hammer definitely lost its awesomeness as an initiation move.
I’ve played guild wars 2 since its release in 2012, and it is still my favorite mmorpg. Even though I play it off and on for over 3 years, I still have lots of respect towards the game and it’s developers, and I’m still impressed with it to this day.
Gw2 is amazing simply because it’s one of a kind. It’s the only mmorpg that I’ve played that actually attempted to create a unique mmo experience that cannot be found in any other game. Most mmorpg’s are all copies of each other with maybe one or two unique features. ANet really did a good job at giving us a game that really feels like no other on the market.
Things that I love about Gw2:
-Originality
-Extensive lore
-Beautiful, artistic graphics
-Unique and interesting classes/races
-Any race can be any class and gender
-No strict “holy trinity”
-Impressive and frequent content updates
-Smooth combat and great PvP
-Massive, well-designed zones
-Freedom while leveling (nearly everything gives you good xp)
And last but not least, the game gets rid of all the stupid and restricting features from other games. Things like stealing monster kill and gathering nodes, rng enchanting ad upgrade systems, a class-determined dungeon/raid roles don’t exist in this game. This alone is a good reason to play this awesome game.
I really wish that these forums weren’t filled with such ungrateful, complainy people
Yay…?
It certainly has a lot of potential, but the game needs more PvP balancing before esports can ever be popular.
It is still worth the effort and GW2 is brave for trying to be the first mmorpg esport. How cool does that sound?!
By that logic, having you on a team must be meta!
OOOOOOoooooooOoooOOh get rekt
p.s. Warrior doesn’t suck
Hey guys
This topic isn’t about much, but I feel like sharing today so I want to share my spirit.I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON WARRIOR!!
This class was my main before HoT, now that HoT is here I came back to my Guardian. I realise how OP DH is and I’m getting kinda bored of it. In PvP just lay traps and shoot bow. DH almost don’t need to dodge really.
I just did a Skyhammer game with my Warrior, we lost because enemy team had a DH that was impossible to kill on Hammer (because DH isn’t good enough, it also need terrain advantage).
I’m tired of DH. I feel good playing Warrior, even though we get rekt every PvP game.WE NEED CHANGES! Warrior comunity is getting tired of just playing to be a carpet on the floor!!
So that this topic in interelly useless I want to ask something. Let’s imagine Fast Hands gets to be baseline (OH THE DREAM!), what builds would you try? I love the GS/Hammer combo, and I actually tried this build, but without FH, combing Hammer wih GS is difficult and both weapons don’t do that great on their own for us to have 9 secs of weapon swap coldown:
Thanks for reading! Hope some of you share my spirit
There is nothing wrong with warriors in my opinion. I still have a ton of fun and kill people all the time on mine.
Just because certain elite specs are better than berserker, doesn’t mean berserker is garbage. And at the end of the day, skill still trumps class ;D
Why don’t they just rename it to “I need to run faster and thanks for the free Aegis!”
Where are the voice actors and actresses when you desperately need them?!
Bumped so more people can read this and laugh at you and your silly mistakes.
:3
If Disney has taught me anything in the past 5 years:
“Anyone can cook tank, but only the fearless can be great!”
The only limit is your soul, guys!
Giving greatsword some hard cc would make it a lot better.
So yeah, this rocks
