I get it, it’s fracs it’s hard, it must be challenging, and trust me it was challenging until… we realized it’s impossible.
I kinda had a similar train of thought with the Dredge fractal.
Why is one of the most preferred methods of opening the door with the bombs to die continuously, just trying to get the bombs into position? Why is one of the most preferred methods of keeping the double doors open to the gate controls to die on the pressure pads?
I know ArenaNet said, before release if I recall correctly, that they didn’t expect players to get through dungeons cleanly, with no deaths, but I always thought some aspects of Fractals take that a little too far, no?
Is it possible to complete the whole Dredge fractal (bomb door path) at L30+ without a single death? Just looking for reinsurance, really. I’ve never considered the “best way of completing content” should ever be by dying.
Definitely possible. For the two pressure plates, the same person aggroing the spawn at the control panel can get the side mobs. The bomb part just gets annoying as you have to kill the waves that come (every 3 explosions?)

I don’t get why people have an issue with this part. If you mess up, the strat is to just keep pulling one side and focus down one seal. Regardless of how many have spawned. Chanters stop healing if they aggro to you.

My fav deaths by lupi is whenever he spawns the bauble and rampage as one is down, sometimes being a ranger sucks.
I notice he spawns more baubles than usual on trib mode. I think it started when they fixed the checkpoint so I’m not sure if it’s intended.

Wouldn’t that just be projectile absorption?
It would make some professions really, really weak. An optimal guardian solo would take about 7 instead of 4:30 min, a mesmer solo… well yeah. Also rangers and engineers would suffer. And those are already weak professions, even with their reflects, so in my opinion, in the current state of game, reflections are not overpowered, they balance professions. They still make some fights extremely easy, though.
I agree that it would hurt those classes, but I’d prefer it over the other option people were suggesting of making the projectiles unblockable(unreflectable too i guess).

This might be a stretch, but they could make it so if a legendary mob uses a skill that can be reflected, it gets reflected but does not do damage. This way the reflect is still a useful utility for the team, but doesn’t trivialize the fight.

Gotta love the doggies they work well in ganking. I showed that in Queens Gauntlet. Made it look silly with pet spam, kinda funny. But if you notice that was pretty much the last video I used it. But like more on the topic. It’s more about doing your job. If you do the job to me doesn’t matter how you did it. Long as you lived and actually did good dps. I don’t want a dead dps king I gotta rez every minute.

Work around it. So you cleared the dungeon to last boss. Invite friends or have 1 drop so youre a party of 4. Make a post. Buyer joins. Collect payment. Next friend drops. Refresh post. Buyer joins. Collect payment. Repeat until its full of buyers that paid you. Be nice and let them tag the last boss

Make two paths and split the content. Each path being half as long as the current dungeon. So we don’t have to spend 2-4 hours doing one path.
It kinda sounds like you’re asking for less content. I would personally disagree with this if that were the case. Short dungeons are not fun.
It’s not less content, it’s more conveniently sized for people who have less time. Have a choice to continue to the next part and it’s the same thing.
It’s about choice. There are other content in the game that people will limited time can do. World Bosses like the Shadow Behemoth is still easy, and can be killed in 5~ minutes. CoF path 1 is still one of the quickest dungeons, so that’s also an option.
I don’t see what the problem would be with have MORE choice. There’s no downside to splitting it in two, and it would benefit a lot of people.
Cmon guys tribulation mode doesn’t take THAT long to complete..

It’s new content. It will take 2-3 months for the average pug population to be comfortable with the dungeon. For comparison, I’d say someone that takes 45 min to do arah p3 could probably finish this within an hour once strats are common knowledge.

All the platforms are there, so you either managed to kill the boss without making him “knock himself out” by letting him eat platforms, or somehow regenerated the platforms.
Correct. It’s possible to kill the boss before he’s “vulnerable” even once. His hitbox appears momentarily during the speech before he transforms, and as long as you keep hitting it, it doesn’t disappear.
The actual kill happened about 3 seconds after his lightning attack spawned on the platform, which killed me immediately after the boss died. Still, the fastest possible kill for this boss being… before you’re supposed to be able to damage it, a little silly.
And now I have to redo my speed clear..man…

I love dungeons but absolutely hate being in a guild, so I pug 100% of the time. I probably get kicked out of 5% the dungeon groups I don’t start. The typical scenario is I join a fractals 38 group LF1M, they are in the same guild, chat will be silent. The run will go smoothly but suddenly out of nowhere I’m looking at an LA loading screen. I assume there were only 4, but they wanted to get the run started before a 5th logged in. There is nothing the game to even discourage people from doing this.
Friends? Unless you have bad friends. In which case, get new friends.

I’m sorry, I can’t agree with that. I just don’t agree having two extra weapon should be a necessity to go pass arah for every necro out there. Might as well add a shield there, can only be damaged by condition gear. You can keep the gear in your bag too, right?
It’s not a necessity. Your limitations are yourself. Not sure what you mean by shield. Maybe you’re suggesting to add a boss mechanic that would make you feel useful.

I use a warrior. Armor to use for SAB is berserker with scholar runes because that’s what you use for pve. I usually run 30/25/0/0/15, so I only have to swap out the first major for less fall damage. Use undead slaying and night for world 1 and inquest slaying/night for world 2. Food is irrelevant because you can’t eat in a video game.

I don’t run arah with my necro anymore. It’s a chore compare to other classes. And I refuse to buy 2 weapons, 2 sigils, food, and retrait 30 points in SR for one boss.
You don’t see people complain about having to change gear and traits for SAB, but when it comes to arah.. I don’t get why you’d have a problem with it.

Retraiting is ok, but only to the point of changing the master traits. And changing utility, maybe part of the weapon set (for the skills, not for the sigil). Imo, it shouldn’t require you to go out of dungeon, go to LA, retrait, and come back. I don’t understand how one can think it is fine for necro to have 2 energy sigils for half the time in pve. And having to buy specific type of food to stay alive while other classes can have their food of choice to boost dps.
You not dead will boost your dps. Food is just a bonus. You can keep energy weapons in your bag, you don’t have to wear them.
You’re bad if you run SAB with an un-optomized build.

If you have a friend, they could hold the cutscene at the end. Then you get the boss reward for your lvl 80 and the dungeon reward for your alt.

For that jump, stop pressing forward before you land (you dont build momentum when you jump from regular terrain to ice). The ledge you jump up to will almost always fling you forward if you just try to walk it. Jump and then move forward a couple times to get past it.

I haven’t bumped it as the videos aren’t uploaded yet. I did 2-3 in 14:50, but I’m still working on 2-2 without dying. With 2 deaths at the end I was at like 13 min or something. I also beat all those world 1 times to be under 4 mins (under 3 for 1-1).
Been waiting to see your 2-3 run. Wondering what you did to get it down to <15 mins. Best I’ve done is 24 minutes, with about half a dozen deaths. It seems every time I get past the 2nd trib cloud without dying it wants to kill me on stupid lag deaths in the ice spike room.
It’ll get posted soon. It leaves a little more to chance, but you could run into the 3rd cloud (by the barrel) and use the short invuln to run over the spikes to the end.

Achieving something? What exactly? That I bothered to finish this horrid mode? To me that’s somewhere on level of daily. I haven’t done one in months. I guess its a bit better then a forced repetitive activity thats anything but fun.
If I got it I should be able to do what ever the heck I want with it. Imo pvp in this game is the worst mmo pvp I’ve seen in about 20 years I gave up on it and turning into pvp skin is same as throwing it away.
Helping someone get something they can’t on their own for what ever reason sounds like an infinitely better use of those tokens.
So you just want to make a small profit on the tp after spending time on content you dont like. Finally..I was getting so bored of reading duplicate posts of glitched achievements and how do I dodge jump wtf.

If you guys can’t do it with 1 hand as it looks like everybody seems to try(V+spacebar), why don’t you just bind one of them to something you can hit with another hand? If you only have to do it for 1 jump then you can just get rid of that keybind when you’re done. You could also hit jump and then just spam click the endurance bar, then you wouldn’t need to rebind anything.

I see where you’re coming from, but it still doesn’t really justify using lives in trib mode. Do you remember ANet’s we-don’t-want-players-to-farm-policy? So using the argument that you can farm lives in normal mode is basically a wrong argument in this context.
You’re doing it once a day. I’d hardly say that’s farming. This term gets thrown around so much that really just playing the game is a farm. ANet doesn’t have a we-don’t-want-players-to-farm-policy. tbh I’ve been sitting in SAB since it came back, so I wouldn’t know much about the new ascended weapons, but from what I can tell, to get the gear in a reasonable amount of time, you have to farm (ie: play the game).

World 1 completion on normal mode gives 7 bauble bubbles. 1 bauble bubble is 5 continue coins. 1 continue coin is 5 lives. World 1 completion gives you 175 lives once per day. Then you could trade in baubles if you wanted to to get more bauble bubbles. And it’s possible to complete trib mode without dying so…
I support this. Nothing wrong with a IWBTG mode. But this only works when you have infinite retries. But ah well, they wouldn’t have sold nearly as much coins then…
I think Ceri disagrees because he already bought infinite coin and/or completed trib mode.

Party merge means 3 people can join Cookie and I after we duo all of path 4 and kick us instantly. This feature needs to be removed.

Wow, great runs. Just wondering two things.
Did you pull these off with few attempts or were they something you had to try a bunch of times?
Why not use the shortcut worm in W1Z2? Saves time even if you take it safe I’d think.I’ve died many times. Without exaggerating, it’s safe to say i’ve spent 30 hours in SAB TM. I’ve only ever died in the worm. If it’s possible to do it, then I’ll try it out.
I saw you link this thread from another TM thread. The shortcut worm is very doable, although, I haven’t figured out yet how to get past the spike trap (without dying) once you exit the worm.
The worm path itself only takes around 40 seconds. Here’s a video:

So I remember reading a post from Josh recently, where he said that he wanted Tribulation Mode to feel like games like ‘I wanna be the Guy’. I think he and his team made a great job, but one thing bothers me a LOT. Why didn’t they remove the life-counter in Tribulation Mode? As Josh said once: you are supposed to die a lot in this mode – so why, if it’s not a marketing strategy, do we have to constantly hope to not hit 0 lives and start over again?
My suggestion is to replace the Life-counter that decreases with a Death-counter that increases.
PS: It’s also not nice to enter Tribulation Mode, loose about 80 lives and then get a disconnect because your ISP is garbage…

You’re only supposed to die once. For the most part, I’d attribute it to lagging. Sometimes it looks like there’s surfaces you land on after dying to a fall, but I can’t say for certain that this contributes to killing you twice.

I can’t stand bad players in zerk gear.
I was playing with this guardian that only ever wears zerk/dps build. We went in for a casual run in SAB trib mode and all he did was faceplant. Players like that would be better off with knights and an AH support build.

If I join an Arah group via gw2lfg.com, its more likely than not that I will be kicked at the last boss so either their buddy gets in for the 3g, or they just sell the spot on gw2lfg for as much as 20g for people trying to get dungeon master. I gave up on Arah altogether because of the rampant exploitation of the kick option.
Gave up instead of zoning in first. I don’t get it.

Back during the Deadeye Farm craze I had my guardian up at 101% crit and there were still non-crit hits happening. Don’t know if that’s due to a bug with Right Hand Strength (it still doesn’t display in the H panel, you have to just add the 15 yourself) or something else wonky with the crit% calculations.
Just mentioning this to say it might not always so bad to be a little above 100%. If there is a bug, that is.
I thought right hand strength didn’t apply to reflect damage. That’s why you wouldn’t crit sometimes.

If it was made available for gems, it would let you see all of their gear, but none of the stats. The only reason you should ever need to inspect someone is to make your character look like their’s.
