Question is simple, how do I check my own personal reward level? I ran fractured twice, one for “level 2” and another for “level 8”.
I figured it would be under character sheet or achievements but no dice.

Yeah I have to agree with Iweiler there, this is terrible monthly achievement, i am leaving country in 2 days for 2 weeks and I’m not sure if I’ll have play time

You are a joke. As others have mentioned here, there’s no accomplishment in a brand new player throwing 4 exotics into the Forge and getting a Precursor, 1/4th his way to a Legendary just like that….that’s not every Legendary. By Anet’s definition of what GW2 is all about (in the videos & blog posts) as well as what acquiring a Legendary is about, the current state of the game & acquiring a Precursor -> Legendary is not up to par with their own standards.
Now that I think of it….you may be one of those exploiters with stacks of Precursors in their bank, trying to make us all feel like we will never achieve Legendary status….

Itemization in this game is really flawed, the only one that makes sense is direct damage berserker power/crit/critdmg%. Condition spec players only has condition damage from armor and healers with +healing. I guess ANet just wants everyone to run around with damage gear

Yeah… along with that, ANet should also implement following:
- Spells display “POW” “SHAZAM” “BAM” instead of damage #
- Spells, character sheet, traits will not display any info, no activation time, CD etc.
- Can no longer see how much gold, karma you have
- Players will have to guess how much item is worth in karma or gold (Green=You probably have enough, Yellow=Maybe you have enough, Red=You probably don’t have enough)
- Since items won’t display numbers, you’ll have to guess it will be an upgrade to what you want

I’m at 40 clovers and after long debate I decided to reroll to profession that can use greatsword because wtf is the point of getting legendary that looks worse than regular exotic?
Well it’s better than before, I would say it’s somewhere along the lines of same as when game started in terms of players not rendering properly.
Patch that released a week ago was basically friendlies not rendering at 100 range away in town, now it’s somewhat (?) playable for me

It doesnt need to break on anything when most stealth skills last 3-4 seconds tops and you can still be hit while in stealth.
If you made stealth break on Damage, you’d see the thief class numbers DROP to next to nothing, they would not be playable without stealth. It is the PRIMARY form of defense. Take that away and we might as well role warriors.

Back in UO, there were TON of hidden jewels for mini-games. For example you had to kill fast spawning mobs and had 10 sec in between to solve puzzle locks for treasure chests http://uo.stratics.com/content/misc/puzzle.shtml

I think the part you’re missing from all this is John Peters used/is to play Warrior telling Necro how to play, you know that class that is most played, least # of bugs in the game?
I actually applaud John Peters on trying out one of the least played and most buggy profession in the game, completely opposite of what he used to play
He is getting tons of flame now because there was recent video of him playing Necro not doing so hot, if what he claimed was true regarding Necro, shouldn’t he play at least mediocre? I think flames from Necro community has valid point
As for players defending their own honor, this isn’t blow to your kitten or ego here, you can go anti-X, tanky build etc and faceroll anyone in pub sPvP game, half the players there just rock berserker set anyway

Last I checked, GW2 has more than just WvW. While I may not play WvW every single day for the next 7 years, I’m pretty sure it would be a major part of how I spent my time in GW2. There was absolutely no progression whatsoever in GW1 (unless you count getting Hero title progression, which we have in GW2 anyway), and I still played that all the way till GW2 released.
All I see here is former DAOC players QQing that GW2 is not DAOC2. GW2 has it’s own systems and history that they perfected from GW1. If you’re unhappy with how it is, don’t play it. The rest of us that don’t need grindy virtual rewards just so they can faceroll new players would be happy with the lower queues and having fun with people who wants to have fun.

If ANet liked how the game was with GW1, they would not have put in WvW and if you liked GW1 so much I could easily say go play GW1 and not play WvW at all
Fact of the matter is, people who created WvW portion in GW2 has background from Mythic Entertainment that created Daoc so stop trying to convince daoc players that GW2 =/= Daoc, GW2/ANet was the one that started all this with WvW

As much as I loved Daoc (Was RR8 before ToA and all that), I don’t see ANet implementing RAs no matter how many threads that pop up.
Core philosophy of GW2/ANet is easy plateau in terms of gear/abilities and they are waiting until ‘dust settles’ before changing anything drastic in the game (1-3 months), my guess is during winter holidays.
If nothing changes.. by that time ex-daoc players will casually logon to WvW to reminisce the glory days and logout with distaste in their mouth knowing GW2 will never be close to what Daoc really had to offer.
Daoc is now the new Firefly of MMO
Few things:
- If your main concern is coolest gear, you can roll any other profession with light armor and look exactly the same
- Necro does indeed have highest bug list of any profession however I just see it as more fixes / changes coming our way
- Don’t anyone here fool you, necro is solid profession, this is coming from a guy who has 3x lv.80 with full exotics on all of them with 2k+ badges from WvW (I stopped picking them up now)
Hopefully that will convince you to play Necro, I’m so sick of seeing so many War/Ranger in WvW

Note 2 things:
- Crafting xp earned mechanic
- Modifier table for first 15 levels of your character
Obviously the people who actually done it doesn’t know how they got it, crafting booster only modifies how much xp you gain for crafting only, you gain same amount of player xp going from 1-400
As for actual conversation of thread, I think they need to change how much npc ingredients cost, some recipe cost is 30%+ npc item but they aren’t dynamic pricing like TP where supply/demand controls the price
1-400 on crafting is definitely 10 levels no matter what level you are at, 1/8th of 80 experience is false.
I decided to reroll and had lots of gold from my main so I powercrafted 6 crafting to 400 giving me exactly 59.4 levels (you lose some xp from going from current level to next because it’s % of current level that you gain as xp)
As for crafting, some of them can still make money at 400 however all the players who hit 80 and in full exotic already are turning to mystic forge for special skin
I had exact conversation with several people I normally play games with, we played wow, age of conan, rift, warhammer online, eve online etc (you get the idea) and out of approximately 30 people on my friends list, only 3 people are active.
Reason? Almost everyone unanimously agreed that WvW incentive is lacking. If we are to die dozens, if not hundreds of times to defend our homeland, our reward is large repair bill at the end.
Some of us still play WvW just because we miss RvR from Daoc but even for us it’s getting tiresome (yes we all have 1000+ badges sitting in our inventory doing nothing).
WvW isn’t meant to be fair, if ANet wanted it that way, it would work EXACTLY like spvp in terms of gear so please don’t bring this “+1 power” on player X is unfair for putting in lots of hours in WvW. Barrier for new players? gap between <80 and 80 in full exotic is huge difference already.
tl;dr ANet needs to implement some meaningful reward for WvW players

I am running a 0/30/30/10/0 Toughness Condition build and found myself more often then not getting RIDICULOUSLY burst down THROUGH 100% Death Shroud AND from 100% full health to dead in like 1-2 second by Warriors and thieves. This seems SERIOUSLY broken, surely a toughness build should be well kinda tough yet i can be burst down through FULL Death Shroud and Health by Thieves and Warriors
Anyone else experience this? How the hell can this be countered? i mean getting stunned and becoming dead in under 2seconds kind of SUCKS when you just simply cant do ANYTHING as far as i am aware

When you get stunned, and you don’t have stun breaker up, you can deathshroud + fear while stunned. I do this all the time to 100b/PW
Im not to sure what the skill is, its something that they warrior jumps into me swinging around like crazy, the Thief got no idea as they went into stealth and the next thing i knew i was dead.
This was THROUGH 100% Death Shroud as well as 100% health, fear is useful when its off cool down but i just dont under stand how a TOUGHNESS build can take SO much damage in like 2seconds when you look at “Bunker” Guardians can take INSANE amounts of damage now i dont want us like that but being at least able to SURVIVE their burst would be nice…
Yeah I just said what warrior did, if you have stun breaker or you fear him in shroud as reactive measure, he’ll just stand there clueless it’s really one shot combo. As for proactive measure, you can use staff #5 as soon as you see him charging in.
As for thief going into stealth and wtfinstagibbing you, it was most likely backstab build. Without deathshroud at almost full, this one is hard to counter but doable if you see him coming, again pop staff #5 and evade once then pop chillbane
I run WvW all the time with almost pure glass cannon (220 toughness, no vit) necro and I almost never die getting jumped by thief with 50% deathshroud. Pre-emptive staff #5 saved my life more than I can count
EDIT: I don’t know why it underlined that part up there, weird
You can get full rares as soon as you hit 80, if not then I dunno what you did with money.
Counting at 20 silver a piece (that is actually high), it’s <3g
After that you can work toward exotic, money you spent on rare is actually not throwaway either, you can salvage it for possible ecto
It’s much easier to get gold from events along with karma than doing dungeons for exotic gear
Also, if you haven’t finished all the 70+ zones, I recommend you do because you’ll get lv.68+ exotic that should have payout of 30silver~2g

Unfortunately necro is one of the profession that is not the best at longest range 1200 combat (I know right). There are two builds that I like the most, first one is blood is power + epidemic build but I am now running with Power/Crit range build below nowadays:
Your best bet for long range combat is
- Power/crit build
- Staff, Scepter/Focus 30/30/10/0/0
- Greater Marks, and Spiteful talisman
- Double marks for utilities
This is for 900-1200 combat
1200 Range:
4 skills from staff (with greater mark, it’s easy to land)
1080 Range:
2 skills from focus
900 Range:
2 marks from utility
1 spell from deathshroud, lifeblast
2 skills from scepter, grasp/feast
You’re probably thinking, power/crit build with scepter (lol) but that aoe snare + double marks is a killer, along with feast of corruption scaling very well with power/crit
Since this is power/crit build, you’ll hit hard with life blast / lich form – just do lich auto attack with that and /laugh
EDIT: in that build above, you don’t auto attack with scepter
