Hi evryone.I was looking to therycraft a new revenant build.As i usually do,before looking at thw meta i like to blindly try to create a build and then after check if is considered good or not
This time i found a new problem i never soscovered before: i was tryng to use the “free” perma 40% critical chance of the revenant.The idea was that,if i get a free 40% crit,i basically can afford to use less item that gives me precision and switch some gear with a power/condi/ferocity gear.
At this point i fond that there wasnt any 3 stats item like that,so i looked up on wich ferocity item arw there.Basically,only berseker,assassin,marauder, and item with ferocity and nonprecision only one more.Is normal that arent other ferocity item ingame?or am i missing something?:)

Hi evryone.I have never done raids,but in the pve scenario i started tryng a tempest celestial spec becouse i always loved the hybrid aspect of the elementalist,wich can basically gain profit from power,precision,ferocity,condition,healing power,witjout any problem.Adding the fact i play a semi support/auramancer build,in pug for fractala celeatial simply sustained my party like hell,even in some fractals i usually had many problem with (41/51 example).
Also,i started this build type becouse i wanted something viable also for wvwvw roaming that doesent seems too much squishy to me,for my 3vX sustained fight around the map,and celestial seemed the way to go.
But now thatvimnlooking into raid,and i dont wanna be the weight of the group,is celestial still worth plaung,in a hybrid healer/buffer/dps build?
As now,this is how i build my cele,switching sometimes between earth/water/air.I love the concept that i can became what my team need when he needa it: dps,condi,stack might,aoe dmg,break bars etcetc
looking for info on raids i found too much thoughess can be bad for raids,but i didnt get why;is worth playng ele like this?or ahould i start thinking about having only celeatial trinket and convert the armor into zerker?
I hope this setup would be still viable as im not an hardcore game and changing the setup coulda take me long time ^^"

Hi,i was looking for some italian guild to do some guild mission.Actually i am in a guild with some friends,but we are still a small guild and we were looking for some bigger ones to maybe merge with.
I was looking for it mainly to do some guild mission,and earn some cool accesspy ascended
I usually play pve (and also other member) and we all have the HoT expansion.

Basically,i suggest you to get the first chapter in maguuma to unlock masteries.But then,stop there.
Personally i suggest you to try all type of dungeon; those helped me in learning some of the basic group mechanics (stealh,skip,stack,might stack),even if sometimes you are pugged with people who just ruah the content.
Still,the main experience i get from dungeon was:
1-personal mechanics: how to combo/rotation.Those can seems like useless complication,but try force you to work these in your normal routine of combat,it will pay off in more difficult content.
2-PvE bosses.Many of the bosses can be only kittened focusing it in 5 ppl,but dungeons teach me that sometimes is just best to understand the mechanics of them instead of imba-aoutoing them to death.
3- learn how to BREAK STUN BARS:this is vital to maximixe damage,and is REALLY important in maguuma.It break my hearth (of thorns) when 50+ people cant stun vivern in HoT maps
After dungeon (personal advice:enjoy them story) il would suggest you to look towards HoT maps or fractals,maybe alternate them.Fractals are good source of money,but HoT maps/story are really more funny.When you feel having a basic comprension of what your class do,try also pvp where you can experiment with different amulet,the look also at wvwvw.
Personal suggestion; i had as main pg an ele too,try to cap the elite specialization fast(easiest ways are hero point in HoT maps) becouse is really funny/strong, and also try all possible setuo for the elementalist,dont just get stuck into one kind of weapon,becouse it have so many different playstile:
Staff ele: most dps,ranged
Condi ele: big dps,less braindead then staff power ele
Fresh air tempest: tons of aoe damage
Frash air d/f: good might stacking,cool rotation of spell
Auramancer (staff – dagger/warhorn – scepter/x): crazy sustaines fight,cool support for groups

Please no,those fractals are so long to clear right now,with perma protacion regen and stability on mobs,if we add a perma aegis they will basically never ends T_T
Ps. Dont tell something like:" make them stack only in pvp",we know arena doesent differenciate pvp patch from pve sadly

Still,even if one trait is gonna die,i cant wait for the scepter changes
I love dagger mainhand,but still would be nice see someting new,scepter seems a dead weapon at the moment^^
I like the marauder set becouse it gives you some healt,but mainly it sinergize with the rune of the wurm; you will have a decent crit chance,and a good admount of ferocity that gives more importance at your crit: usually if you are in a group you have perma fury so this extra ferocity still gives you nice dps.
Dunno if is optimal,is just what i like

Hi evryone!I had a guard lvl 80 for a while and i never looked into his spec becouse it never appeal me;just after tryng it for fun i discovered i love the LB and how it feels playng it.
Im still leveling up the specialization,but i feel i cant understand properly how to make it work (pvE and pvp)
My old guard run a condi fire build buy to me on DH i feel like power build will fit him better,am i mistaken?
What are best gear option?zerg as usual?even in pvp?
Bht the main question i cant answer is; mine old guard kept his damage and tankiness in his passive virtues: is still worth to build for passive virtues?demonhubter seems (to me) to promote the activation of the virtues instead of having then as bonus stats!
Mainly the F1 passove,what is more worth,the burn evry 5/3 hit?or the active burn of the spec?
Also i saw many suggest as second weapon a GS,but i feel standing in LB is juat better fir fight,maybe im mistaken!as now i keep a staff in offhand for mobility while explorig,and a focus/mace for surviability (to switch when i need to block and reset) in fight

Hi,im stuck into this mission for a while.I choose to defend the village from the invasion,and successuful done that.
But after i talked with some npcs,the game set my mission to a tunnel i cant enter :/
How do i use the tunnel?i need sone mastery to do that?i looked at my mastery but no one of the mastery i have access give me the ability to run into tunnel,and the last 3 group of HoT mastery are locked for my character!

For example,my tempest warhorn is celestial,and the wiki doesent list this possible choiche (and i remeber having more the 3 possible nomenclature to choose from)

Hi evryone!when asking for the vest way to farm exotix,ppl suggested me a mix of crafted exotic,karma vendor exotic and dungeon vendor exotic!
I had no problem doing a full berseker set this way,but now that im transitioning into celestiak gear,were i can find this exotic?only by crafting?
Sorry if i return with more problem,but there isnt a way to get the celestial exotic from some vendor,with karma?

I mean,when i fullycomplete a zone in the actual map,i have 1/25 probability to fojnd gear of the nomenclature i want.The expansion add 8 new type of iten,so my chances will become 1/33 ?
If yes,id better not activate the expansion if not after i have already completed the zone….or i am wrong?xD

Hi forum,quick question here!Im looking to taling the expansion today;as far as i know,the new nomenclature item with 4modifiaiers,are added in the expansion.
Im excited for it,but at the moment im tryng to farm a carrion set right now,for one of my char.One of the fast metod i use,is to complete 100% level 80 maps ,as in the reward they give you random good armor drop.As now,the pool of random iten i can get is smaller,becouse i have no access at 4stat item;
The question is: if i take HoT,will become more harder for me to find the carrion item from map reward (as the pool of set i have access to is bigger) ,or it will change nothing (and naybe the new item set will drop only in the completion of the new expansion map)…?

Yeah thebprotection seens huge.This should be my therycrafting of my build as soon i can put my hand onto HoT,is pvE oriented,with fractals and raids is mind,this is why i wanted a durable set up (maybe it will be useful in other mode,dunno about it :> )
Also you are right about the sigil,probably switching for another blast seems the best idea:
i changed the skill and the equi,few reason:
-tailbraizer seems good for this condi build powerless.i love expertise and it seena the right choiche for it!
For rune i will test,i love the idea of undead rune to convert the big thoughtness we stack into dondi dmg,but also your choiche seens nice.
Also rune of radiance seems nice,becouse basically it gives another aura at our disposal,and we basically are an auramancer xD
Finally,the skillset;basically adding the 2 blast in our utility/heal,should ddfine our rotation as follow:
First phase,stack burn and might
Second phase,stack bleed
Third phase variable
Here i would like to point personally what should be (only by theorycrafting) the beat rotation basically.Warning,you need to know by memory what our skill are to understand it.
PHASE 1 – stack burning
Fire Attunement – Fireskill3( fire field ) – arcane brilliance + arcane wawe (double might blast) – FeeltheBurn (shout) – Fireskill5 (fire field) – Fireoverload (whirling burn) – Fireskill4 (might and might sharing)
PHASE 2 – stack bleeding
Earth attunement – Earthskill3 x2 (burning and fire aura) – Earthskill5 + Earthskill2 (bleed stacking) – Earthskill1(auto bleed until overload) – Earthoverload(more bleed)
PHASE 3 – situational Earthshield
Basically the idea is to evoke Earthshield for more stakign and tanking,how to do it depends on how the team needs heal.If the team no needs heal,just use the shield in heart attunement for the extra thogness(→ condi dmg) ,if is needed just a small heal,switch in water for the area regeneration,while whielding the shield for stacking;if instead heal are hardly needed,just stay in water before evoking the shield,for some stronger heal,the start the shield bleed stacking

Yeah i mean,i was going with a flame legion rune for budget ,but i read somewere that the 7% modifier doesent aplly at condi dmg but only on raw dmg,still looking for a check xD
Right now im testing wrath elite,but i come from an elementalist main,were the elite is usually trash,so i have to force myself to try to spam it more xD the cd is ridicoulous low!

-dmg modifier runes (example the 10% dmg from scholar) affect only raw power or also condi dmg?
Oh right,one last important thing if you just started (doesent affect only ele,is for all classes) : learn how to manage your inventory;
-buy bag for extra space
-buy salvage kit and destroy evry salvagable item
-use the gear on the topright to auto deposit evrycrating item you got
If you lern this,you basically need shop only for buy savage kit and sell junk when full of it

I started like you as a elementalist,and i hated it hard becouse i always hated the staff gameplay.But at lvl 30/40 i discovered the dagger/dagger and transition into dagger/focus and it become my favourite and main profession!!
My advice is:
- start crafting before lvl 80(i didnt do it and i regret it )
-always do story mission and dungeon as soon you unlock them (that gives you nice chunck of esp and good item)
- just unlock maybe some skill with hero point(maybe go in pvp and choose the one you prefer) but Keep some point for later,becouse at lvl 21 you unlock specialization and its gonna take many hero point!
-just go berseker item first run(it means you prioritize power,precision and ferocity)
BUT the main advice is to understand the combo mechanic ingame : this is what made gw my favourite mmo (along other peculiar charateristic).
Look at your spell,and you can see someone has an heart <3 and the word "combo " in the descripiton; knowing how to do you rotation usually come from how ypu can concatenate this combo,and especially for Ele it dictates what utility to take

I was just looking around this forum and i found that actually heart shield give us another source of bleed.What about including it into the build?we are already condition oriented,we justchange our approac by standing in heart most time;
Basically thats the idea:
Start heart and start stacking bleed with skill 1-2-5,more bleed with overload,then switch to fire(more dmg) or water(need heal) .
If in water,just istant cast heartshield and continue the bleed stack
If in heart,drop some burning and blast some field,then overload and keep the bleed with heart shield.maybe pass in water while whielding the heartshield to have some heal,and return in heart.Next rotation just use the Fgs for the burn efdect instead of shield.
is that good?i really want some feedback,becouse if it is im going to ista buy the expansion xD
Hi evryone.Im starting lvling up my guardiand,but i usually spend almost all resources on my main ele.
But LFG is usually full of ele so i was looking for a build on thw guardian capable of doing decent dmg while beinf beefy enought to tank more hit then other zerker
This is my prototipe:
basically is an eavy burn build,with a mix of condi dmg,burn duration,toughness and vitality.Is it viable for pve or is just better go zerk?or go more healing power?
Also,how does the block mechanics work?can i block attack without shield/skill?

Use ab equip full of: condi damage,thoughness,power/vitality
.Use the trait of hearth strenght of stone to convert thoghtness in more power,equip a set of wepon capable of stacking might for the team,heal aoe and causing condition dmg.

So,i already used this section of the forum asking for advice about my d/f ele.Im quite enjoing it and i started finally having nice run understanding how it works.I never considered going staff becouse i see it (and maybe im wrong) less “elementalis” and more “fire mage”,by camping in fire attitument all day if no situation is needed^^
BUT im going to try it out anyway becouse i want to learn all the aspects of this wonderful profession (condi ele you are next :] )
ALL of this is my vision of how i shall play the staff elementalist.Its just my first impression andbis probably WRONG.So this is my build,i will explain it soon:

I dont have HoT and this is why im struggling with this build:as now,i cant really find any guide about staff ele updated without tempest included :[
So,my vision off staff ele is to camp fire for dmg.I found foking great the perma field we can lay down (fire,water and occasionally ice&lighting) but i found myself in a great loss of combo finisher!
We basically have finisher only in Heart attunement!Ican add some by putting an arcane spell to blast areas,but still usually im alone pveing and i just cry for the lack of blast :’(
Also,the nerf at the dodge attunement spell mastery hit hard i think this class,as they are no more blast (sadly discovered today :[ )
Talking about my utility:
I found that elite elemental is a must on ele,even more in this class wich cant face tank too much and relies on rewiening stamina for surviability.
Sometimes i feel a second elemental can be nice(almost always in heart attunement) so i take the lesser one.I still find gliph of storm really strong (but maybe im wrong) even after the bow nerf,but i dont know if the conjured is still good anymore,so i switched in the arcane blast.
For last,i had the condition removal heal.
Is at this moment that i realized i have basically 3 gliph,so im tryng atm a full kitten mode(the one linked) with the trait “inscription”,and the not so good gliph in the healskill,but im still testing.
As for the other traits,i choose fire becouse we perma fire,air basically fir the bonus ferocity and last spec i basically only have viable left watwr and arcane,and i choose the second one; it gives me boons,and %bonus dmg on boons^^
My last concern is the rotation spell: with basically only one blast spell (if im using the arcane utility) i feel like in solo the firefield is akmost wasted,and switching in heart for some finiscer is not really optimal,becouse the aa is mhe and the projectile has a long cd.
So: is the right approach to staff build?how should i rotate spell if i want max dps and i dont need situational rotation?

Im writing this post becouse i came back to GW after a 2 years break and oh my,many thing changed.So i started kitten ing around tryng to find some guide or advice after the big patch that remastered traits etcetc,but i found little or nor luck.So i actually tried ingame some build,to see what works with me,and thats what i regurgitated:

So,before evryting,let me explain my choiche: no overload,becouse im poor,but more important NO 2H STAFF.i know that probably is the best setup for an ele,but i Hate the 2H staff gameplay,so ill stick at dagger/x or x/dagger,for personal choiche.
I just decide to create a build that abuse the fresh air trait in combination with electrict discharge.Basically you will have air always up,so is better to always inseret an air attunement in evry switch to increase your dps(as youll see in the rotation)
Also imporrant are precision and fury becouse the build heavly focus on critical strike to proc burn,freah air,vulnerability and blind.
i started with spec in fire/lightning/arcane (the first two are a must imho) but i started being downed a lot,and i offer little nor help to my teammates except for aura might.So i swapped (with a tear sliding on my face T_T) arcane(my favorite spec :[) with water for more surviability,condition removal,and overall group healing.
Then for utility,i choose elemental for tanking mob (i know,i should maybe take the greatsword in eliteskill,but my team lack of tanky character,and 2 hearth elemental is better the one.But im still not sure about it,still testig) and sigil for the crit chance(vital stats)
The LH is here just for abuse the piercing shards traits;usually mob have vulnerability on (i can apply it with crit and Air2 skill) but water has little no damage,so i can water attunement while whielding the hammer.
Finally,this is my go-to rotation:
FireAtt – Fire3(field) – Fire4(field) – AirAtt – AA – EarthAtt – Earth4(blast finisher) – Earth3(projectile finisher) – Earth3(leap finisher) – Earth2 – AirAtt – AA (until FireAtt is up) – FireAtt – Fire3(field) – Fire4(field) – AirAtt – AA – Air2 – WaterAtt – Water3(blast finisher) – Water5(blast finisher)
If i need health or condition removal for me or my team i usually interrupt the rotation for WaterAtt asap and then i restart the cicle after we stabilize.If i want to go into LH i look for vulnerability on the mob,then i go for this rotatikn:
AirAtt – Air2(vulnerability) – LH – WaterAtt – Hammer5(field) – Hammer2(leap finisher) – SpamHammerAA until weakness on mob

Im an Italian player still lvl 75 (i bought the game a few weeks ago).I fell in love with this game and i really like it,but at the moment im basically the only one i know plaing GW2.
I found often looking alone for dungeons and PvP,and basically i didnt understand really well the WvWvW mechanics: i really would like to play this mod in particoular but i feel like the game doesent explain to me how to play it efficently and i feel lost evrytime i join the World vs world.
I can speek an “ok” english (mamma mia) and i have ts3 and raidcall to communicate,and i would like to find some friend o play GW2 online.
Would be better an international/ italian guild if possible,im actually in Gunnars hold,there are any?^^
i dont search for hardcore guild,just some guild to casually play tog and have fun^^

Im happy to see that DD ele is not so underpowered as i thought it was,but i enjoy too mutch his mechanics so i would play it Op or not XD
Anyway about ur advice: i see that celestial is good,and my idea to have some tankyness is basically came from my being a noob (if i didnt misunderstood,the more brusty build are for more experienced player,right?)
Also i guess my traits werent really good,so i think the best is to have 6 point in water and arcana.Here is my question: Evasive arcana is really strong and can combo well,but why nobody chose Elemental contintengy?The passive it gives seems pretty strong,isnt it?
Also,playng DD i found myself basically doing only combo with Ring of fire: it gives Might with Froen brust,Earthuake,Chirnging heart and the dodge if i get evasive arcana.But there are other combo here?
I didnt understand fully the combo system,i juts found them when i do them,so i guess i missed some other^^
I found relly useful the fct tht i can cast utility spell while channeling,making that i can cast on myself rmor of heart and lightining flas while charging a Churning heart
And what are the best elite skills to take?I only consider the sword becouse i didnt really use mutch the other one,are them viable?

Hello evribody.
First of all,i apologize for my poor english but is not my native laanguage,i hope u will understnd me anyway
I staarted playng GW2 after the free trial week when in felt in love with this game;s first class i chose the elementalist,and i really enjoyed it.
I played almost only pve until now,im not even lvl 80,but i found myself enjoyng more then evrithing the double dagger combination of the elementalist.
I searched so for buil/advises about how to build a DD ele for pvp matches,discovering that this class is the wrost of all in pvp.
I really dont mind play a tier 3 class in pvp ,becouse i love the skill and the gameplay that DD provide:
infact the staff have a kit full of Aoe,kiting end supporting skill that i dont really like,and rely too mutch on Fire for the damage,basically almost null in the other element (IMHO)
On the other hand,the DD uses all the 4 type of element at the (almost) same rate and i found myself using a lot all of the stance a elementalist can use,almost doing full rotation alway evry encounter,and i feel is how this class should be played.
But im not a pro,and i dont know if my buil coulda do something useful,so i ask u if this buil can be useful,or if is totally dumb?Please explain me im new at the game and i dont really understand fully the mechanics^^

Why did i come with this build?
i found myself in having a lot of base damage with this class,so i point almost all on surviability.The barrier from the tier 1 trait of heart and arcane (armor of heart and arcane shield) are golden,plus i had it in my skill at 8-9 key,and i had a double cleanse with the cleansing fire at the fire trait plus the 7th skill key.
Basically i invested all the 3 utility skillpoint and the trait into surviability becouse i feel my spell are enought to deal dmg ,plus the useful boon in the arcane skill make changin my stance optimal for the gameplay of the class.
I foun myself doing preatty great with this combination: arcane shield make me basically untouchable while i dot u with spell/greatsword,and thanks to heart armor im able to cast also cunning heart without being knocked out while channeling.
Is reallya good combination or its juts me?I feel like im useful in supportin teammates with my boom but i have canche also in 1v1 pvp,am i right?
Please comment in what are my mistake and suggest me how ot change.Im really disappointed about having only one trait a 6,but i didn founf really interesting the grandmaster tier in the other element.I also really want some trait in air becouse is my favourite stance,but i couldnt spend any in it
