My guildies have reported today that while killing the same Anomaly on the same map at the same time some of them have recieved the achievement while other haven’t.
Condie Reaper, Epidemic… What enemies?
Somewhat same issue. I bind mount abilities to Z,1,2 (summon\skill#1\skill#2) and when I use 1 it just jumps. And it keeps jumping whatever key I assign to Ability #1, however when assigned to 1 it executes Ability on Num1, but if I bind it to Num1 it start to jump on that key as well.
Have you considered that stacks indeed don’t matter, but those runs were succesful due to CC awareness and ppl stunned Anomaly in a good spot? There is an idea that sometimes Anomaly stops at bad terrain and some of the Fragments spawns right at its feet and get consumed immidiately.
Since that update I’m experiencing a “blackout”. I’m using GTX550Ti and instead of “flickering” all my ambient lightning is set to “dark” state. It’s barely noticable in open air locations, but indoor locations are very dark. Enabling “Light Adaptation” makes it a bit brighter but light sources are still missing. The worst example is going into Ascalonian Catacombs – its almost pitch black down there, as there is no light from torches and ghostly fires.
And why should I go through all of this if other instruments such as Harp or Bells have a resonable basic volume? Instruments have been moved to its own sound channel so ppl who are annoyed by it could mute it.
Pleeeeease make SAB Boomboxes “instruments” and pump up their volume so i could hear the music.
Don’t even consider touching lootstick.
Fixed it for you
and yes – those ARE spirit weapons
If during a fight you kick a player from party Boss stops “Fixating” and starts using old aggro mechanic.
Best solution is the most obvious – play what you like. Whatever pros or cons towards your named professions you may get in this thread now may or may not become mute the next patch.
Guard has been pretty buffed in recent patch and now they are all over PvP and whatever Revenants can do Guards will always remain solid pick for WvW, unless something really disasterous happens.
Necros are now considered by many a “Kings of the Mists”, as you may see many lfgs looking for “4necro\druid” compositions.
Mesmer as recent test shows again pulls the short end of the stick in terms of damage, but at the same time Chronomansers are still viable and welcome in raids as tanks and partybuffers.
Engie is still “Jack of all trades and a master of none” – all around a good profession, capable of doing everything, but in return for everything he does there is someone who does it better.
Ranger now is quite welcome in many gamemodes as long as you are willing to be Druid healer =/
As for Warriors, unless something drastic happens to them, they are set as PS partybuffers.
For past few months I’ve been experiencing this mildly annoing bug that after I exit the game it still remains “active” and i cannot launch it again untill I go to Task Manager and will not personally kill stacking GW2.exe processes.
Did Achie today – we held dps at 20% and after some time he went into his “phase” with spirits and after it he immidiately teleported ppl and we got achievement.
Sad news for you: Gift is attached to the Reward Track and there is no way you can ifluence its gain, beside 10% guild buff and daily potions you get for doing WvW dailies. All in all you are looking at 8 to 12 hours of playing WvW at maximum participation. Time will vary based on what you choose: Real WvW or Edge Of The Mists.
Half a year has passed since HoT release and ‘permanently selfdeactivating minies’ bug is still unadressed. Want my minies back in the game. =/
Since when Shield of the Avenger stopped being Spirit Weapon?
Have been doing LW2 story lately, which includes a lot of Dry Top running, and I have noticed this strange bug with Inquest Grenadiers, that use AoE attacks – now instead of targeting ground under the player they target the player himself, which results in AoE red ring being drawn on the ground but grenade projectile still follows the player even as he leaves AoE red ring zone. That bug became even more visible and game breaking when I was asked to help with Caudecus Manor Path 2, that has Turrets with same mechanic – the whole party was wiping due to the fact that missiles from turrets were not hitting their respective AoE rings, but instead were following the players. I personnaly think that this is a bug, because if this change IS intentional, it makes the game’s most basic Red AoE Ring Mechanic non-functional and obsolete.
Yes that’s the one I’m using right now. Turns out 70+ buttons isn’t quite enough.
I’m using left hand for moving\dodging\using\targeting and my right for skill usage and target calling. wasd – for moving, q-e – closest\next target, f – use, r – dodge, space – jump. On mouse 1-6 weapon skills + healing, 7-9 – utilities, 0 – elite, G-shift + 1-5 – F-skills, G-shift + 6\9 – call\take target. I use it to play all professions without switching profiles or keybindings.
It SAYS that its an upgrade slot, but it actually houses infusions.
All 4 HoT maps done with 0 reward. Also no reward for Southsun or Silverwastes.
Yes, Misunderstanding is in place. OP refers to Gemshop Token, that IS account bound, but the actual bag slot expansion is indeed per character.
Post-fix Light Adaptation still reenables itself after zoning even without Selection Mark.
Items fill the bags from top to bottom and from left to right. If your bag that gathers, say, green items gets full, said item goes to the next free slot from top to bottom. What I personnaly do is that I put my Safe bags on the top and fill them with the equipment I’m not intending to sell (weapon\armor sets, fod\potions, jewelry or tonics etc.) then I place common bags for general loot and end it with rarity specific bags for the ease of salvaging.
Are you sure that you are not missunderstanding the mix’n’matching thing? People in GW2 usually use this term in regards to Armor SKINS rather than STATS.
Condies ARE viable now, but mostly for solo play, as any other condie will “fight” with you for condie space. But incoming Expansion will adress this matter by doing something with the Caps and conditions themselves. Would it be personal caps or no cap? Only time will tell, but Condie builds will finnaly be Viable in Mass play. But will condies be on par with power damage? No. They are playing on different fields and this is by design. Condies do damage overtime so they by definition can not burst as power damage works, but condies bring utility with their overtime damage. Like Poison that halts healing or Chill that puts enemies in Slow motion. Will Condie become a viable part of Dungeon Meta? I, again, think not. Unless the dungeons themselves would be reworked, the speedrunning meta will persist to be melting enemies down with bursty damage while dishing as much non-stat related support as possible. But at the very least non-meta and non-speedrunning groups will get an option to bring condies as they will not be a liability and be able to fight at full strength.

A little Update on this problem.
After Reaper Trailer I’ve decided to roll another necromancer, so i’ve bought a character slot. As soon as it was added I could finally delete my unwanted character. This is definately NOT a solution, but maybe someone on fix-team would read this and be more closely to solution. Also I would add that inability to delete my character apeared after my Beta-access slot was removed.
name of it is Zîem
Thats not really an issue in this case. My character that can not be deleted has no such simbols in its name. And today i had Support to answer my ticket: even by login on my acount themselves they could not delete said character. They said that team is aware of the issue and are working on a fix.
Same problem here. Cannot delete my character. Rapairing didn’t help. Could it be connected to the fact that i’ve got my beta slot removed?
If you need a dedicated tank please leave Guild Wars 2 and never come back.
Truth be told Twilight does NOT make guardian blue animation black. Its just that Twilight has “bladetrail” animation that draws WITH blue animation so it looks darker. Also legendaries are the only weapons that impact or change animations of skills, but its mostly change of the different projectiles.
Dont let size to confuse you – very few people use mouse targeting in PvP environment. In roaming 1v1s targeting you is a push of a button and your size or race means nothing and in huge zergfest you don’t use targeting at all – Cleave and AOE your path to victory. But Charr are large and visible – be ready to be spotted from afar and next to no options to hide. If its an issue though you may want to consider Asurian Ninja. =P
When ascended armor crafting made it to the game, recipes were revealed and we saw that it gives roughly 5% stat improvement in exchange for a lot of gold and about a month of crafting, I said that it’s not worth it. Too much for too little. So a year has passed and what? I’m now sitting on 4 complete ascended sets.
You are unsure if game’s best in slot items that are acound bound are a good investment? Do not invest. You can do well with exotic equipment. Its the next best thing and very accesible. When you will acumulate needed mats or wealth you’ll easily can decide if you need to go that extra mile.
P.S. All four of mine Ascended sets are Berserk.
P.P.S. Developers indeed claimed that they are NOT going to implement any higher tiers of gear above ascended.
Pinnacle of the question is what do you see as support? You want to stand aside buffing, healing and keeping your team warm and fuzzy? You can, but team most likely will not apreciate it and you will have a bad time. GW2 game mechanics are much about support, but not usual for other Trinity MMOs passive support, it is about active support: do damage to kill your foe faster than he would kill you and your team, give Aegis to protect your teammates from crushing blows, set Wall of Reflection to save your teammates from devastating projectile bombardment, cleance conditions so that they dont wither away your companions health, etc, etc. All of this can be provided by clever and timely use of build and utility skills.
It is a raw stat and not an increase, so as opposed to normal 100% base damage, when you crit you do 150% base damage, so base damage x1,5 (given you do not have ferocity that increases your Crit multiplier)
I’d say stick to your ranger, at least for now. Ranger is a Warrior’s younger cousin so it exels in selfsufficiency and can be a valued part of the team, given your team is not allergic to Rangers. Why not Elementalist or Mesmer? Too squishy for a start. Familliorize yourself with the game first with a proffesion with sturdy HP and low learning curve. Why not Warrior? Warrior is more melee reliant proff, while Ranger can be a melee and ranged, but be warned: ranged play is looked down upon in grouped PVE. But if you are in search of a proff to main right here and right now and forver then do check on Warrior – the most versatile in all game modes, always welcomed in grouped play, easy to learn and easy to play class.
As stated above, Warrior is your sure bet:
dealing damage quickly (bursty) – With GreatSword’s Hundred Blades you can burst throught everything
being highly mobile – GS\Sword+Warhord and you are a marathon champion, rivaled only by Thief
being useful in dungeons – Its a very hard job to find any group that will not have or will not want to have at least 1 Warrior on the team
being able to support my team – GS, 2 banners and a Phalanx Build. You will not support your group with Healing or Protection but you will significantly improve your groups performance by giving them Might, Power, Prescision and Ferocity, increasing group’s damage output
being able to survive, not just be a pure squishy, i like to be reasonably tanky – Even in Zerker gear you are a tank with the largest Health pool in game, second only to a Necromancer with his cheaty Death Shroud
being reasonably simple to play (basically – not ele, dislike!) – Banners down, Whirwind Attack, Rush, Hundred Blades, Autoattack, Rince And Repeat. You can’t be any more simple unless you are actively slacking
I’m the owner of both Razer Naga Epic and G600 and should say that this choice is a hard to make one. I’ve been using Naga for over 2 years and switched to G600 only because Naga’s scroll wheel got broken. I liked Naga very much, but as I’ve read other ppls replies in this and other silmilar threads a lot of players say that Razer’s gear tends to be of a very poor make and gets broken in a matter of months or, if you are lucky, works flawlessly for years. That said G600 is not ideal mouse either. While it is superior to Naga in terms of quantity of buttons (Nagas 12 against G600’s 12×2 via Gshift + scroll-wheel side-push buttons) I also find Logitech software to be buggy. In my case it results into random double-clicks instead of normal clicks. Truth be told, if I ever had to make another choice between them, I would be troubled myself as I still like Naga more than G600, but G600 with its G-Shift proved to be more comfortable gamewise. Tough choice.
it’s nonsense to have 2 medium servers only
It is nonsense to call server Highly Populated when it has dead acounts as 50% of population
Or…
Filter on rarity before salvaging. The text filters key on any text in the mouse over popup. Any text.. Including rarity.Buy a fine salvage kit, type fine into the search filter, salvage away.
//Portable Corpse
You missed the point. I want to see Item quality and not Kit quality. Plus I use Copper-Fed-Salvage-O-Matic.
The “Rarity bag” idea is only solution right now, but it does not quite solve the problem as blues\greens WILL go into those bags automaticaly when other bags are full.
So since The Escence Of Luck apeared and item salvaging became more common I found for myself that after a quick boss run and ocasional mob farm i got my bags full of a mix of blues, greens and rares. And as i start to salvage the lesser items i ocasionaly would click on rare one and it will interupt my salvage spree. What I`m saying is that it would be really good to know what is the item quality that is in your inventory as most of rares share theirs icons with blue\green items. So i think adding a coresponding color frame around item icon would be a good addition to interface.
+1 Cyrillic FTW
Oh, my. I`m waiting for armor type filtering since the day TP went online. The best auction system i`ve ever met and lacking only 2 features: the filtering in question and the ability to preview weapons\armors. With the abundancy of transmutating stones you get, guessing the items model by picture only is a bit hard :-)
I`m at a loss. I`ve played Engineer, Elementalist, Ranger and a Warrior. In comparison to them my Guardian is an unkillable mob-grinding machine. What do I do wrong?
