I tried something similar to what you suggest in the lobby area of the Mad King’s Labyrinth. All the sounds are audible, they just aren’t very loud.

I’ve got all the sliders turned up in the sound options and I can only just barely hear the effects on the gramophone toy while using it. I don’t think this caused by anything on my end, but I’d be glad to be proven wrong.

Reading comprehension indeed! Because you are allowed to trade outside the BLTC doesn’t mean you are allowed to use the LFG tool to promote your goods. Henninger says absolutely nothing about it in the posts you linked. If the mods or devs were to openly approve of your behavior, I pity them for all the complaints of fraud they would inevitably have to sift through.

Though you haven’t asked for a response to this question I don’t feel it’s unreasonable to respond. I go to the effort of removing your posts, because I find your behavior far more pernicious than random guild recruitment posts. If what you are doing is allowed, why couldn’t everyone start using the tool to sell stacks of mats, runes or any other items?

I can’t account for the actions of others, however I’ve done nothing that entails punishing or harassing you. I’ve spoken with you civilly a few times, but now when I see one of your ads, I only join the group and take down the listing. There’s nothing inappropriate about peeling an ugly flyer from a utility pole or scrubbing off a graffiti tag. It may be within your rights to sell legendary weapons to friends, acquaintances or the sundry folk you meet on unofficial forums, but it’s explicitly not allowed on the LFG tool. You may find that not to your liking, but it would seem the devs don’t want to turn the LFG tool into a second-rate Craigslist.

You seem to have a very broad definition of harassment. I may have spoken about how I disagree with what you are doing, but mostly I’ve just been de-listing the spammy looking for group posts you use to sell legendary weapons. John Smith was pretty clear that the LFG tool is not to be used as a grey market and yet you persist in your postings. Joining a group just to remove it in this instance is akin to picking up the rubbish someone else left in the street and throwing it out. It’s swifter and more efficient than waiting for the hired trash collectors to come around. If you want to sell weapons off the TP, by all means do so, but don’t muck up the game’s commons in that pursuit.

I’ve noticed recently there seem to be a growing number of players using the Open World Content tab of the LFG tool as a classified section to list legendary weapons for sale (for in game gold). I know Anet seems to have taken the stance that you can trade outside the BLTC, but it’s buyer beware. Regardless, this seems like an illegitimate use of a tool that was intended for a completely different purpose. Though it doesn’t get used that often for the purpose of conducting sales now, if it that use were approved by Anet, I could foresee spammers taking over to avoid the TP tax. I was hoping for some clarification in the matter.

Yeah, not sure if you were in the same run as I was, but our group managed to off two of the heads earlier today and didn’t get the silver consolation prize.

Just noticed after sorting through my bank that I have this infused ring kicking around too and have not received credit for the achievement.

I don’t hold out too much hope, but if the loot tables are bugged it would be great if they did something with the gauntlet rewards like they did with the those rich dragon coffers. If I remember correctly, they ended up giving everyone who purchased them early a recipe for Dragon’s Revelry Starcake.

You all just misunderstand the lore. Lyssa is the goddess of illusions. Ergo a few of those festival tokens are likely to convert themselves into recipes in few days time.

Seriously though, the recipes for the back piece were only one of a few rare items that were supposed to drop by playing the gauntlet. From the release notes:

Participating in festival content will also earn players Queen’s Gauntlet Entrance Tickets, which can also be purchased in the Crown Pavilion. Winning fights in the Queen’s Gauntlet will award players with Gauntlet Chances, which have a rare chance to drop a further set of rare returning rewards, such as a monocle from the Sky Pirates of Tyria. Furthermore, Gauntlet Chances have a very rare chance to drop a recipe for crafting the new Chaos of Lyssa ascended back piece.

The only thing I am disliking so far is that one merchant. You can buy a lot of the older backpacks, including the sclerite karka shell and the slikpack. I worked hard to get those, and someone shouldn’t be able to just grind some tokens and buy them. Granted, it IS 1600 tokens, but still….

At the end of the day, you’re the only one who feel bad about this. Everyone else are happy to get the last few skins they couldn’t get before because of personal restrictions, either it be final’s weeks, holidays in cuba, or a trip to the hospital for a broken arm. You’re not special because you logged in everyday for 600 days, you don’t deserve them more than someone who COULDN’T do anet’s temporary content. So, Anet, I thank you SO MUCH for bringing these skins back, i’ve been dying to get fervid censer and the zephirite helm THANKS!!

I agree completely. Even having earned each of these meta-rewards during the original events, I don’t see any reason why new or intermittent players should be deprived of the opportunity to obtain them. If you really feel the need to let everyone know you’ve been playing the game for a while, just pop your Emissary of the Mad King or Crabgrabber title.

Not sure if a player is supposed to need an experimental rifle to reach the new vista in Lornar’s Pass, but I was unable to get past the hilt of the sword using standard jumps.

Make sure you don’t have any of the filters turned on, which would make the recipe invisible. Once your cooking level hits 75, white frosting shouldn’t require discovery.

It’s generally easier to buy the lodestones off the trading post than farming each one yourself. That said, I’ve had a few corrupted lodestones drop for me off the mobs at the beginning of CoE. You could try forming a group and running that part of the dungeon repeatedly.

I’ve had my game crash 3 times in jq borderland since the latest patch. It’s been happening to many others as well.

Hat’s off to the PRX thief with purple ponytails and the Dreamer trying to snipe yaks outside of Bluewater on red borderlands tonight. I was the Choo sylvari mesmer who had been protecting yaks for a while. I was genuinely sad when the other Rallians got you that last time and upset you didn’t come back.

Grenth is kind of ridiculous, but the Melandru event was quite fun. Nothing like taking down mobs in crocodile form.

This must be ArenaNet’s April Fool’s joke in January.

FWIW, there’s a good discussion elsewhere about how your CPU could still be causing a bottleneck even if it isn’t running close to 100% since the game doesn’t use every core on the processor.

Clyne, you restore the original speeds from the BIOS interface. Also, try turning off Intel Turbo Boost from there if you are using it.

Beren, it seems like you are crashing for a different reason than everyone else on this thread. There are few other threads where crashing upon entering a new map is discussed, but I’m not sure what the solutions might be.

This seems to be a common enough problem that ANet should create a sticky note about it.

Turning off CPU/RAM overclocking seems to have fixed this problem for me.

The same thing happens when I have it in fullscreen windowed mode. However, after a few error messages pop-up, the client completely freezes and needs to be restarted.

I think you’ve posted this under the wrong forum. Try posting it under game bugs.

JerBear, did you just modify your PC’s build or had you been playing normally and then started to experience crashes?

Necrosis, our systems are also fairly similar. I’ve got a support ticket in with Anet. I’ll post here if there are any effective solutions.

I’m constantly crashing like this too, and it looks like the error messages are very similar.

Just finished defeating the Legendary Jotun Stargazer with only four people after one had left before the big gorilla. After entering the room with the telescope, the game crashed for all of us. We were able to log in and re-enter the instance, but there was no big reward of shards, gold, or karma. After about 3 hours of work and countless wipes, this is incredibly dispiriting. I’ve posted a screenshot at the end. Note the absence of the little exit door over the map inlay. At the time the shot was taken, only two of the original members were still in the party, but both of us encountered the same problem.

I agree that all of the components for end game gear has gotten very, very expensive. FWIW, I’ve sold the few Giant’s Eyes I’ve found. Out of hundreds of heavy moldy bags that I’ve opened, three have contained the eyes.

The exact same thing is happening on Sanctum of Rall. The southern escort has stopped and it hasn’t stopped in a place with enough mobs to kill the NPCs so the event resets.
