A few more patches like this and you won’t see any players at all anymore, the word of unplayable professions will get around fast on the net.
Doesn’t matter, they’ve already got your money. Things that have been issues since beta haven’t been fixed yet. I believe a lot of people fell for marketing hype and buzzwords.
Sorry to inform you but, a lot of people have left and or are leaving the game, not relative to the active users. The game is unfinished, was pushed out too early and while the launch was good the content was not. This game has great potential but, sadly it failed to meet it in my eyes and, in a lot of other’s as well. I still check the forums to see if they’ve fixed any of the massive issues.
I bought the game for 60$ and am now hoping that it was a future investment, that I’ll be able to play a good game maybe half a year down the road.
Necro profession has 100 bugs and has had 100 bugs
Just ignore dusk, he is a raving fanboy who thinks the game is in a perfect state right now.
I really hope the systems they are implementing right now are just very temporary because they couldn’t think of anything better at the moment. Just punishing the player
Guild Wars is trying to be different if you add mounts then it is just like every other mmo . I personally dislike mounts found no use for them. Same with mini pets a little thing that follows you around and does nothing.
Hm..Dislike mounts, oh okay I can understand..“found no use for mounts”. lmao, this i can not understand.
Yea, me and my friend were playing, he quit before I did. I at least wanted to get max level before I could give my final judgement
Yea. It really depends on what was your first game that you really enjoyed. What was normal back then is now hardcore, and I don’t see any more hardcore games existing. I just went to a vanilla wow private server that is x1 xp rate to get nastalgic. GW2 just doesn’t have anything to offer, there’s no sense of adrenaline in this game
The bots have become sentient beings and are forming an alliance to take over GW2

It’s what I’m doing. I don’t really play anymore. I may get on for about 30 minutes in LA or WvW to see all of the gold spammers and then log off. I still check the forums from time to time, I probably won’t check the game very often though. I’m not too disappointed with my purchase, knowing that I can always come back and check in a month’s time or so to see if any changes have been made. But honestly since a month in the game, I have not seen any significant changes. Only changes I’ve really noticed are the ones punishing people for rushing dungeons, diminishing returns for dungeons and DE…
This game still has a very long way to go and it is incontrovertible that this game was pushed out before it was ready.
Because they always fix a bug to create a new one.
I really don’t see how anyone could disagree. Giving more options and variety to the play is never a bad thing. I like the idea of a weapon having X amount of skills and then picking and choosing which ones suit you.
Right now.. Eh, having all my skills unlocked at level 3 for my preferred choice of arms, all the way to level 80 is really boring. And all the traits you unlock are just passives, they don’t change your play style at all. Even making unlockable abilities in the traits would be nice, just anything to give more variety.
For my 80 thief I am forced to not use one or two of my abilities if I want to play effectively. So really, you only have about 4.
This will never happen though, sorry to be so negative, but it is too much of a design change for the developers to ever make. I imagine right now they just have a small team working on this game to keep it sustained, while the developers employed under NCSoft are working on another title or the expansion. The only possibility I see of this system ever being implemented is with an expansion.

I think it is quite strange that once you hit 80 you continue gaining skill points from the xp bar, maybe Anet are already planning this in the future?
+1 added
To make a legendary you need so many skill points..
I would agree.. Having only 5 skills available gets really boring after <200 hours of gameplay
This is what I do but you can only do burst damage every so often. After you pop all your signets to get the extra damage you’re not as effective, leaving you vulnerable
This person doesn’t even know what the signet is called or his other abilities. He’s never even played a thief and is calling for nerfs? Lol
Giant guild following you? You can only have about 30 people in the commander’s squad, it’s not even worth it..
Yea, this game doesn’t have end game. Literally, like the above poster said, the entire game is suppose to be end-game. This has been said by the devs again and again, the whole game is suppose to be end-game. They don’t want people hitting max level and thinking that’s when the game starts.
If you’re max level the beneficial things to do are: Get all your exotic gear (all exotic gear has the same stat variables), do some form of PvP, WvWvW more than likely because that’s where your exotic gear will hold any effect.
Except this workflow doesn’t really cut it.
What you’re essentially saying is play PvE until you hit 80, then we’re going to flip your entire gameplay experience around on you and make you do something else. Forget all that story and lore you built up on your way here, it was just filler to get you into sPvP and WvW.
It just doesn’t make sense to me. In the same forums I see two large PvE complaining tones.
1. Players at 80 are having difficulty finding fun things to do (risk vs reward prohibits it).
2. Players on their way up to 80 are finding group oriented DEs a pain because there are too few players to do them.
Yes, that is what I’m saying. This game is PvP orientated, the PvE is just there to get you to 80, so you can then fully participate in WvW without frustration.
Some gamers are rather hostile while zerging in Straits of Devastation?
Posted by: DirtyHoudini.2917
Because zerging is the only way to be effective in this game
Reading this confirms that this game was indeed pushed out way to early. Another 6 months of beta testing and implementation and this list would be far shorter if here at all

80 Thief
3/10
Game was pushed out too early. Will come back in some month’s time to see if things are not in disarray.
It’s against the rules to talk about any authority’s actions or to question them. It’s against the rules to talk about any threads that have been deleted. This thread will be deleted soon.
I think these people are getting to your head. No continent/timezone is going to get special attention.
Wow….So what is the point of under water combat?
If someone swims to the surface in a downed state, can you not finish them? I tried but I couldn’t..Maybe I didn’t position myself correctly
I’ve seen people type in Korean, so you can type in other languages. Maybe your language is not supported.
This is a bad idea. People playing intoxicated will be banned.
What I wouldn’t give for a game that gave assassins proper weapons, like this:
The Assassin in D2:LoD used that weapon…
Nobody is saying they’re exactly the same. What many of us are saying, myself included, is that they’re no substitute for skill; that a good player in blues or even whites will be a much better person to bring into a dungeon run than some scrub in exotics who zergs, death-runs, and completely ignores support and control.
You really believe that? Gear is quite a big difference. If players are equally matched, gear will take the ruling. If someone is on a slight advantage with skill, the gear will take the ruling. Do you know how much health, damage, precision..ect you get from whites or blues going to exotics?
Yea this game takes skill for sure, but don’t over-exaggerate things, skill is not the #1 defining force here
Hopefully your personal opinion will make up for lost revenue due to poor design, lack of testing and kneejerk implementation. Actually, hopefully it won’t, so that game companies will be encouraged to finish a game before selling it and advertising the game they are selling as opposed to the one they believe their fans want to play.
There’s no monthly fee. If you don’t like it, you don’t have any reason to keep playing other than the people you play with.
I’m not quite sure why you stay if you have such problems with it and yet can’t handle it not being perfect. ArenaNet was incredibly transparent with their development process. Why are you mad that you got exactly what was advertised?
believe their fans want to play.
believe their fans want to play.
believe their fans want to play.
after the dungeon nerfs this game has become nothing but a “game on the side” for me. There’s nothing else for me to do atm. There are too many bugs for me to complete everything, and access my own main characters potential as well as other professions.
I refer you to http://www.guildwars2hub.com/features/editorials/80-things-do-level-80.
Your complaining is falling on deaf ears. There are plenty of things to do. Try them.
Sure, there aren’t raids for you to do when you’re max level. But there are other things to do. Guild Wars 2 does not follow your traditional endgame formula of gearing up for Raids through dungeons and lower raiding tiers and then clearing content. This was something they told us from day 1. Guild Wars endgame is about sPvP, World vs. World, Dungeons, and World Events. We knew this.
I honestly cannot fathom why you feel like your complaints are valid if they’re not explicitly related to bugs. We all knew what we were getting when we purchased this game. Where were you on that?
You post that link on every thread. Seriously, 90% of those things are just getting achievements. He just lists all the achievements to unlock and you think that qualifies as something to do at 80? That’s something you can do at any level and trophy gathering is a trivial process and was implemented for the lack of reward in the game
The game really is unrewarding, and being lvl 1 or 80, there is no difference just traits.
rewards don’t scale
Game ain’t about the items or gear, just PvP
Yea, you were kicked from the guild.
I agree, I don’t enjoy the others.
It’s down now again, must be fixing guild/party issue
No it’s not allowed. ANet has just told us to report them and that they’ve been thinking about solutions.
I was looking for them. They may be posted up later today, but who knows
New update broke guilds and parties.
So what are we supposed to be doing without anything to work towards?
A lot of people are asking this question
NPCs do have really bad AI..Multiple times in my story quest, they started to revive me then ran off to go to the next phase, no priority what so ever
They’re not going to revert the patch. Just don’t play anymore and check in the game periodically every month or so
What happened to the other thread exposing their PvP manipulation?
^ Lol at the poster above me. Click on his name and go to his posts, all he’s doing is recruiting players from night time zones.
Also, I’m a “have”, not a have not — at least according to your logic. I think there is a problem with the game. Moreso that at the core of the game design zerging is more rewarding than it should be. Numbers already provide an inherent advantage, GW2 makes that advantage more potent through the downed state as well as AOE limitations. Not to mention, the Orb bonuses don’t compare to the relic bonuses in DAoC, and are stacked on top of the bonuses to HP you already get for WvW points. It’s just silly and squanders any competition. I don’t even enjoy beating someone in 1v1 right now. I have 23% extra hp and 150 extra of each stat. Am I supposed to feel god about that?
I could care less about the night time players, although I think that something should be done about “outmanned” servers. Why recruit “night” shift players to an already dominant server? I don’t understand. Eventually you’re not going to have no one to PvP against because they’re frustrated. We’re already having that issue with our opponents on our server. Do you find staring at the legendary gate gaurds fun?
He’s from RUIN. Of course, they were transferring to servers, recruiting people and than pulling them to their server ET to have more masses. Also when they were on the other servers they were giving fake orders so they’d run into the other RUIN members. Did you see the thread that was exposing them about it and then got deleted?
I tried to find why the brought servers down and what the .12 gb patch was about
I thought the camera felt a little differently as well, but maybe I’m just as crazy as you, or confirmation bias has set in
1. There is no raiding in this game.
The reason raids took so long in other games was because you had to have good enough gear to even qualify. Gear takes not long at all to get in this game and all exotic is the same..
So what is your point? You say that you had the most fun in 100 man raids, with slim chance to get the good items..and then you say people are complaining that they can’t do the dungeons yet..All in all you’re making a comparison to the dungeons of this game to the raids/dungeons of others which is inaccurate.
How long do I see myself playing? Depends on how long it will take them to actually meet their goals; this game was undoubtedly released early, pushed out because time frames were met. Their plan is to just keep patching and updating to get it to it’s standard that it was suppose to be at launch.
Guardians are OP
I know Pistol Whip can deal quite a lot of damage. Roughly 5k in PvE…probably 7k in PvP with the right traits and the exotic gear.
That’s still a far cry from one-shotting, hasted or not.
That said, it is indeed a bit broken. Unfortunately most popular Thieves builds revolve around spaming one particular attack. That’s because the Initiative system encourages Thieves to dump all their resources into their most effective move, whichever that may be, instead of rotate between different abilities like most other classes.
ANet may nerf Pistol Whip, like they did Heartseeker (as minor a nerf as it was) but ultimately nothing much will change until the initiative system is revised.
Yep, this is true. The initiative system isn’t that great.
