Yup.

However, Recipe: Light of Dwayna can still be found on the TP using an alternative method. Find one or borrow one from a friend then right click and click sell on trading post/buy more at trading post. This allows you to see the (hidden?) listing and buy more or sell yours.

Also, I’m honestly not surprised, but speculation on this bug has raised trading post prices on this item by over 100% in the last 24 hours. (it was 50 silver 27 hours ago, now its over 2g!)

BUG IS FIXED, FEEL FREE TO REMOVE THREAD, TY ANET

Recipe: Light of Dwayna cannot be found on the trading post when you search for it.

-How to reproduce issue:
1.Open Black Lion Trading Post
2. create filter: Ascended ( just to make it easier, following steps are optional and you can search directly for )
3. type in search bar: “Recipe”

Note that Recipe: Shadow of Grenth ( Recipe:Light of Dwayna’s sister item) shows up (as expected) but Recipe:Light of Dwayna does not .

However, Recipe: Light of Dwayna can still be found on the TP using an alternative method. Find one or borrow one from a friend then right click and click sell on trading post/buy more at trading post. This allows you to see the (hidden?) listing and buy more or sell yours.

Now here is my speculation why this particular bug occurred. (I hope this helps your Q&A/Bugfixing Team!) I apologize if it is completely wrong and not very useful.

It has to do with the patch of December 10th with this particular line.

Fixed an issue that was causing the Recipe: Light of Dwayna to become account bound.

Initially it was unintentionally released as account bound so it was hotfixed to not be account bound; however, this was not a retroactive fix. What I mean is that people that had already obtained a Recipe: Light of Dwayna before the fix weren’t able to either mail theirs or sell it on trading post, even though the description for the item changed and new Recipe: Light of Dwayna that were dropping from the wintersday boxes had the fix as well and were no longer account bound.

I believe that somehow the TP listing may have had a (flag?) or marker on it that triggered when the item was account bound that hid the item from searches that was not reverted when the item itself was changed to no longer be account bound.

If my speculation is correct, then the fix should be changing this flag so that it reflects the actual state of the item, but please if this is completely incorrect it would be much appreciated if you could post how the system actually works, I am very curious to see how it actually operates!

Also players with the bugged, semi-account bound version of the item may have to go through the support exchange proccess similarly to what had happened with the endless halloween tonics.

Now that you have the gold from your sold legendary, you can invest in other items and have ALOT more gold to spend than the average player. I sold Twilight ~ 4 months ago ( for about 1600g). Now I’m sitting at 3000g and have pretty much everything you could buy with gold. Make smart investments. Win the game.

To sum up what my experiences are: first person that tries to manipulate the market needs to be incredibly lucky to succeed. Second person that is the first notice the trend and undercuts the first guy loses nothing and gains much more than the first person.

I made over 1500g from flipping high value items. I wouldn’t put it past someone to flip a hair license. I was thinking of doing it myself, but its too risky imo, not spending 80% of my current gold to buy a hair item that may/may not sell. Someone with more gold than me probably flipped it though. 600g is a very very good margin of profit.

This isn’t a very high priority bug, so don’t worry about it. It affects a very small minority of players because not many have access to these personal NPCs.

You get an error message “You may only have one rentable contract NPC out at a time.” regardless of the actual reason why you cannot summon a personal NPC.

Actual errors for not being able to summon the merchant include:
1. There is another rentable contract merchant of yours, (not really that likely since they are 200g apiece)

2. Someone else summoned a NPC in that vicinity so you cannot use your merchant to overlap with that other person’s merchant.

3. Someone summoned a box of fun. This also conflicts with placement of personal merchants even though it isn’t explicitly stated.

As a small side note, please make it so that we can put more than one personal merchant down at a time, the maximum we can have is three anyway, (merchant/TP/banker) and at 200g apiece, not many people will have access to one much less two.

Sorry the screenshot is a little unclear. If you read the chat log you can see that it says “You may only have one rentable contract NPC out at a time.” I hadn’t moved from that location for over 10 minutes, so that should not be a problem and any merchant would have been visible. Therefore the error message is rather vague and unclear.

It’s game theory and the most optimal way to get money. I was merely pointing out a flaw in the suggested system. I apologize if I came off as personally attacking you on your idea.

if you fail then you get half of what you tagged…if you win then obviously you’re there to do the event/a change of rotation compared to running around in circles and tagging champions elsewhere.

This isn’t solo content we’re talking about here. One player’s actions do not matter as much as the aggregate. If you fail you still get to enjoy the new content and still get half of what you tagged, I see this as a rather positive thing as you still got more than other players that were not able to tag as many as you. Also,you cannot say that all the players that win are completionists. That is just a false generalization.

if you want to take a break from farming and actually DO something and make money at the end…then youll help complete the events..if not keep mindlessly whackin at mobs.

You are speaking under the impression that the entire GW2 population is one entity focused on solely farming or completing the event. I have seen plenty of maps where there is one farming event that is not completed and the event succeeds with a bunch of players finishing off scarlet.
To be honest, probably 99.99% of players will never read this thread. They will continue on to farm champions or try to complete the event regardless what what people say on the forums. Therefore, you must consider your own actions in the context of everyone else’s actions.
The reason that tagging is a dominant strategy is because the player gets more utility compared to other players regardless of what the hivemind/zerg/other players decide to do. Is it selfish? Yes. But that is how the world works.
You can’t tell someone not to farm or where to farm. That is how GW2 was designed. It’s your story. You do what you want to do. If someone wants to farm champions in the new temporary event content, they can. If they enjoy it, then so be it. A system like yours to people that enjoy farming at the same time as enjoying new content would be detrimental. It’s rather ironic because I’m trying to talk about innate human selfishness in farming and in my opinion, your idea is rather selfish because it alienates farmers and their style of play.

I personally do not farm as I do not enjoy it, nor do I need to anymore. There are more optimal ways to make money. For the achievements, I just tag one event and afk to do other things. I often give away 100g at a time to people (that i deem deserve it) because I can.
Players are inherently selfish and gold-hungry and nothing you or I can say will change that. It is human nature. A cof p1 will always exist in whatever form it takes. Right now it is pavillion/champion farming.

To be honest, if you really wanted people to complete the event and not farm it at all, you might as well shift 100% of the rewards to the end although that would probably require tremendous amounts of work on Anet’s part and a fair amount of words from the community.

You underestimate the power of prisoner’s dilemma. You’re assuming that if the rewards for farming were scaled back that people would actually complete the events to get more loot. If everyone collaborates, everyone gets more loot and everyone is happy. But what if I just want the loot and champion drops? I have no guarantee that other players are going to actually finish the event. I have seen it fail multiple times. Therefore, My dominant strategy is to tag champions. If the event completes, I get more loot than the others and I’m happy. If the event fails, it was probably going to fail anyway with my help and I made the best of a bad situation. As this line of reasoning becomes more prevalent, the same nash equilibrium will still establish itself and the only thing your system has accomplished will be to nerf the champion drops from the event and we all know how the community will react to that.

I do not have one either. This is my theory. I created my first char by skipping everything (story customization etc) so I could reserve my name. Then I made all my other characters. I went back and deleted my first character and remade it with the original name. So technically I have no first character on my account.

Enter the portal to begin the final instance of the Clockwork Chaos story. You can complete this instance by yourself, or with a full group. Only one person in the party needs to have completed the portal device in order to enter.

The only one person in the party needs to have the portal device only applies if everyone is on the same server. So everyone needs to guest to the same server to start or be able to open it themselves to join the instance.

Whether or not it is illegal is not a matter of opinion. It’s defined in the contract you sign before entering the game. But I’ve made this point before without results, so I won’t repeat the four or so clauses which are violated the moment you start using a notifier.

This is false and misses the point – and you know it. The “refresher guy”, who has buy orders on 30 different items, can’t compete with a guy that gets notified on his buy orders on 30 different items automatically.

My response was under the impression that it was only one or two items that you were flipping. If you were flipping 30 items, which in my opinion is a waste of time as you could make just as much if not more flipping one or two better items, then you would need to spend time to list each of those individually cancel + relist and such regardless of whether you use a notifier or not. You also have to be on the computer regardless of whether you use a notifier or not. There is just not a significant enough advantage for a notifier for it to be considered illegal ( in my opinion).

Or if you’re not in game, you can just refresh on gw2spidy ( which updates once every 15 mins or so). Everything that program does can be accomplished without it.
You are complaining that the flipper will bid over your price by 1 copper. You can just as easily outbid him. Putting in a buy offer that is significantly higher is also called offering a fair price. If you want it at a lower price, then keep overcutting him by 1 copper until either you stop or he stops. It’s called supply and demand. If you are willing to offer more than the other guy, then prove it. If the other guy is willing to offer more, then he should get it.

Just so you know there is a program called Zicore’s trading post notifier. It syncs itself with the trading post. If you update by 1c, I get a notification and can repost immediately. I also usually have a cutoff price where I feel the profit isn’t worth it. I tend to get a bit annoyed when people play the “I’ll repost again and again even though the guy keeps under/overcutting me” so I get carried away sometimes going for 40 mins-1 hr or more….

There are also other programs like Gold Wars 2 that accomplish the same thing and according to their website’s FAQs , this is completely legal and complies according to Anet’s terms and conditions.

Don’t complain that it’s a bot because someone is probably just sitting somewhere next to a trading post relisting over your price.

This is a global market so only ONE person needs to be watching the market or that item at that one time. It seems highly likely its actually a person and not a bot.

Yeah, I dived off the bird’s head and didn’t die on my thief, but that just teleports you to the waypoint in the center. You can get where I’m standing by jumping off from the platform where the gambits are held.

I found an invisible wall in the new Queen’s Arena. You can stand on it. It’s invisible so people think you’re just floating. You can drop down on it from the upper walkway.

Any creature with the “Unshakeable” is immune to any type of crowd control as long as they have stacks of “Defiant.” (Each CC that hits them removes 1 stack, if they have 0 stacks, the CC will affect them.)

This is true, but none of the bosses in Queen’s Gauntlet have Unshakeable.

A Guide to Liadra...

It’s easy to kill her as Thief.
Take P/P, lot of dodges and initiative regen.
Headshot can destroy the Rifts without need for meele set.

Here’s the build I used for her, killed on 1st try. (Gear is full zerk)

Headshot is not a reliable way to kill rifts. If you want a reliable way, I would suggest to use cluster bomb. With that said, I found it easier to save the orbs for when I needed a rally in p2.
Was able to kill liadri with 0/20/30/20/0 myself with orrian truffle soup and the remove weakness and cripple on dodge trait being the most important imo.

Criticism for Gauntlet

First off, because it is ontop of the largest/best farming area in the game, you get most of the people happily farming away on the bottom side of the map leaving no players to actually do the gauntlet. This means no one to resurrect you when you inevitably fail for the 30th time on Liadry.
Second. Liadry’s orbs are bugged to some classes. Ex I cannot hit them with shortbow basic attack on thief. It says obstructed.
Third. Why base entry into the gauntlet on getting tickets? If I want to do the boss rush and I don’t want to farm, why do I have to go farm and grind for the tickets? Isn’t this against anet’s policy? As it is on a non-overflow, there is often ONE or TWO out of the six arenas being used.
These just add to the aggravating difficulty behind bosses like liadry.

What I would much prefer is an instance like Mad King’s Clocktower. was it challenging? Yes! Did the environment force you to PAY to play it? no. It allowed you to retry it until you were able to defeat the content. There were other players that would help you and you could see where to go from the other players. This is why in my opinion the clocktower was much better designed than the gauntlet was.

New WXP Rank: Golem Mastery

Rank 1 (5 points): Golems you control move 25% faster
Rank 2 (15 points): Increases damage done to gates by 20%
Rank 3 (30 points): Nearby golems move 50% faster for 5 seconds when you enter or exit a portal
Rank 4 (50 points): Golems within a 900 radius of you don’t take falling damage
Rank 5 (75 points): Improved Shield Bubble. Shield Bubble lasts 25% longer and reflects projectiles back at the source

I also think there should be a trebuchet mastery rank, but I hardly ever use those so I’ll leave that for someone else to suggest.

Rank 1 is good except maybe 5% – 10%, there’s a reason golems move slow in the first place. Rank 2 also should be tweaked down a little 5%-10% damage sounds more realistic. Rank 3 is bad because it relies on use of mesmers and their portals. If you look at all the other skills and ranks, they don’t rely on a specific style of gameplay or a specific class skill. Rank 4 is bad due to bad interactions with edge of map and jumping off cliffs as shortcuts and so on. Rank 5 seems realistic as a skill.

If you are Going for points theres a strategy you can use by dying early and spamming traps to get points. You should be able to average about 70 points per game. Then this achieve would take 4 hours max.

Realistically, you can get 50/play as a ghost simply by dying first and going to the first area with lots of assorted materials to pick up vengeful motes.

Easiest way to win southsun survival: at the beginning get all the rations you can from middle pile, run south east gathering every passiflora you see ( dodge roll the traps when timer hits 0, it actually works and negates damage), after the grace period ends, do the jump puzzle. AFK on top of jump puzzle and use your 5-6 rations to win 80-90% of the time. (it depends on if dead players kill the other players or another guy has more rations than you and hiding ina better spot)

There are a couple of things I do not like within the new minigames and their achievements. I find that some of these achievements seem to be intended to go against the main goal in the game.

Southsun Survivor: The goal is to stay alive as long as possible and hope to be the last one standing. There is an achievement that is given for 2500 cumulative points. Points are granted by killing/collecting/traps and such. Now on paper this doesn’t seem bad, but when you are the second to last guy to die hiding from dead players using rations when hp is low, you get no points. In contrast, the first guy to die can go to the place with many assorted material piles and just gather up all the revenge motes for pretty much guaranteed second place in point standings, only after the guy that actually won. This promotes dying early in certain areas to capitalize on points per game as this is low-risk high reward points.

A solution would be to award additional points based on who survives longer, first place gets 50 pts, second place 40 pts etc… much like how Sanctum Sprint awards points.

Aspect Arena: Crystal Breaker. This achievement’s goal is to have you kill the crystal carriers. If you have a sun rush set and go to grab any crystal on your side of the map, if you use fully charged sun rush two times, you are in your base already, one or two steps from side altar and maybe 5 or so from middle altar. This makes it extremely difficult to stop crystal scoring alone or with a group on experienced players. It also promotes a full offensive strategy to offset the high amount of movement that players even with the orb still have.
You will only be able to get this achievement on inexperienced players as experienced players will be able to place the crystal 90-100% of the time.

I would suggest that in the future or perhaps in a hotfix/patch, players with orb have their endurance stripped and drop the orb or are not allowed to use skills like sun rush/ mist form.

(as an added sidenote, on blue side in Aspect Arena if you try to run against gate during countdown, you get teleported back to beginning while on red side you do not. )

Only do it for quick quaggans or dolyak for the 5 event daily. Its a gold sink. I actually lose money by doing it. its getting me no where close to my legendary. The more I do it the more I get left behind.

Basically after a long period of time, ( ranging from 30 mins to 2 hours?) characters inside WvW, particularly on Eternal Battlegrounds will stop rendering. This means that NO allies or enemies load no matter how close they are to you, the only thing that will load is siege and other players. Sadly, other players can certainly see you…. This is NOT the same bug as the known render bug. The only fix to this is to relog, which is incredibly frustrating because of having to requeue for an hour or two to get back in.

If any Arenanet devs are reading this, it would be helpful if you could post a time when you could be free to reset this skillpoint for the people that need it for world completion like Bill Freist did a couple days earlier. Just say a time and people will go in masses. You can stay as little or as long as you want.

Actually the items that you are unable to make further discoveries with are not colored red. They are removed from discovery panel. They are colored red if you still can make discoveries but arent high enough skill level yet.

Also many recipes are unlocked automatically so you don’t need to discover them and wont show up in either of the discovery at all or crafting until you get to that level.

Stuck on PvE World Map with WvW Icons ( and vice versa)

Basically my map doesnt show WvW locations, instead it shows PvE map with the WvW icons overlayed on top. Second time this has happened, first time I was leaving Mists through gate and the map carried over into overflow. Easy fix, just leave overflow when prompted and the map fixed itself. This time, I got into WvW and still got my Lion’s arch map up. The main problem here, I can’t see waypoints. Now I’m dead, I cant do anything, cant respawn because no visible waypoint, cant go to mists because im dead. Looking for a fix.

Please Revert Camera Changes

I am not sure where to put this as there really isn’t a ‘suggestion’ forum. As mentioned in the title, Please Revert the Camera Changes in the last patch or at least give an option to turn it off. I play a human thief, I am not sure how or why this change was done, but in my honest opinion it makes downed state MUCH more difficult to use. Let me give an example. Thief- get downed, need to teleport away. How the thief teleport/shadowstep works is you need to select a location on the ground to teleport to within a certain distance of you. ( it turns red if outside range) Now the camera LOCKS you at a low angle. Anyone can tell you that at a low angle its much more difficult to select a location because less distance on screen correlates to more distance away from character. If you at a hilly region where you died which may just be a small mound, please tell me how someone is supposed to teleport away with such a limited view sight. its hard to get the max distance out of it now that the view angle is so low and the lack of a ‘zoom out’

In my opinion, if its not broken, dont fix it.

only active weapon sigil applies. but this is actually a bug in my opinion because when i use double daggers and put + cond dmg and + summoning token on the other only the + cond dmg applies after every kill.
