If your unable to play the gaurdians game of block n bait the you can switch ur play stlye to counter his play style.
Necro has a few skills that are unblockable, if ur fighting in wvw 1v1 then its a simple matter of using a different build different play style different unbloclable skills to bait n kill your opponent.
Theres already way to many invulns, blocks, dodges, and skills that evade, that can midigate power damage. I play ele fa no matter how well i out play the enemy if i have weakness on me i wont kill anyone.
But condi gets no miditgation what so ever other then cleansing and i dont count that cuz that not miditgation thats clearing.
Weakness needs to affect condi damage as well. Its an unfair condi that shuts down any power build while condi has free rain over the feild od battle.
taking unravel means you dont take armor of earth, or mist form, or cleansing fire, or arcana blast, or any other more useful skills then what unravel does. Ele already has a hard enough time with stun brakers and useful utility skills. now you want it to have another skill thats useless 75% of the time in a fight? no your wrong sir it needs to change.

ANet, please keep the internal cooldown to at least 3 seconds. I love the implementation you did for most of the 2nd expansion specialization where “you lose something to gain something” this makes the specializations feel like is a real trade-off, instead of just pure power creep.

play core s/f s/d fresh air ele properly and effectively and you will realize you just said nonsense and garbage
4 second CD between attunements, but 1 second to go to full attunement. Example: attune to air, putting all attunements on a 4 second CD, except for air which goes on a 1 second CD. Then change Unravel to something actually not crap.

i see an easy fix for it…lets say your in fire/water n need obsidian flesh, so you press f4 and go earth, then you have a 3 second cd to do any attunment switching again, so once you are in that main hand attunment u want, i wouldnt mind having to press ` key, the key next to the 1 to switch off hand to that attunment immediately, instead of waiting 3 seconds in a fight…..this game is becoming faster n faster and they make ele slower and slower with each iteration of it.
It great that we get some more vit now with weaver but if u cant attack and have skills ready to use on command like core ele and used at a reasonable rate then it will just be a fail from the day it was put on the drawing board.

when going scepter focus, and you need to use obsidian flesh in the heat of the moment is there any way to switch to it with out the need of pressing earth then waiting 3 seconds and switching to another attunment? (other then taking up a very useful utility spot for unravel) if there isnt then any kind of meaningful defense the focus provided is practically useless….the enemy wont wait for you to switch to earth twice just to use one of the most important defensive skills a s/f fresh air ele has….the way i see it right now im going to be staying core s/f ele for my wvw roaming still.

Now that barrier is gping to be a thing and the fact that it will scale with vit just make toughness even more usless in my eyes now…well see how barrier is applyied to ones self and see if it will be an effective game mechanic…in my opinion i dont think it will be that good at all if everyone has it then no one is at a advantage n it just another hp bar that has to be knocked down to actually k-o people…..this is my biggest grip with barrier a necro whos running a vit build to begin with has 25k+ hp and a 20k shroud form what i saw in wp video was him having another 15k like b.c of barrier is that really necessary?

A rev hit me with cor for 6.5k+ and a phase smash for 7.5k…i have 2800 defence and only 15k hp are his hits normal for my amount of defence?
If I ever see numbers like that, I would just move on to another game like overwatch or some moba that has a decent ranking system.

Thanks for the input makes sense…But I just want to so s/d ele with out getting melted in the blink of an eye b.c of confusion and Condi burst. Power hits you can dodge but the amount of burn feilds n currupt makes running 11.6k hp kittened to comprehend. At least for me.

Because some classes have such low hp it makes it impractical for that class to use certain amulets. While other classes are alittle overpowered because of it.
Warrior with demolisher amulet gets 2900 def with approximately 20k+hp. While ele gets 2400def with 11.6k hp. The defence difference is fine considering ele is a light class but having less or such a difference in hp makes fighting conditions almost impossible to react to since confusion and Condi stacking can burst fast.
This also goes with gaurdian and thf.

I see where you’re getting at but after a few tests, it seems that there’s a 1/4 second windup time to the burning speed with a 1/2 second evade frame.
well in the tooltip it says 3/4 evade and your saying you only actually get 1/2 evade….so to me it isnt applying the evade properly therefor its glitched out/ broken.

it has a 3/4 cast time with 3/4 of evade. so wheres the opening for the thf to make a successful attack when using burn speed? to me it seems burning speed is glitched out and doesnt apply the evade correctly with the animation messing it all up. but i dont really know.

i think there was a rule saying there couldnt be any balance updates 2 weeks prior to any tournament. now that esl is done for, im hopeing there will be more balance updates that will keep the community happy and intrigued in the pvp scene. More frequent up dates then once a quarter (3-4month)
You really think, that’s what prevents them from doing more frequent updates when there hasn’t been any tournament for more than half a year?

This is in the game. You collect things and trade them in for things you want. Aka, currencies, of which karma was just one example. By way of extension, you also earn gold in-game which you can use for obtaining the skins you want. That’s a big part of the game, whether you trade it in for gems or buy off the TP.
trading in for gems or buying off the TP is not an adventure. and does not give me the feels good feelings when obataining zed skins. right now the only weapons i ever felt good and happy and had the warm feelings in my gut was when i got tequadals hoard. must of killed it 200+ times and got it twice. i was so happy each time. i put work in, i was there beating on the mob day in day out at the end of the day( years) i got an epic weapon. now all i see is get 50 black lion keys open 50 chest of uselessness and clutter and maybe still wont get what you actually want.

Multiple ways to acquire weapon skins are available in the game: buy off the gem store, open BLTC chests hoping for claim tickets, kill things, buy with in-game currency (such as karma), earn from achievements or collections, buy with gold on the trading post, exchange gold for gems and buy off the gem store, and more.
everything you mentioned has the word “buy” associated with it……..change that to adventure and killing mobs and youllchange my mind. 2 things u mentioned was acceptable killing things and achievement collections but skins in those categories are kinda lame and not worth the effort i feels.
why are the new weapons/skins buyable? what happened to an adventure to get the cool new weapons/skins? what has MMOs become? i want to go on an adventure, i want to kill a boss to get a claim ticket or a peace of the mob to take back to some npc or something more then just take my gold and have a chance to get cool things…..this way is not for me.

GAME CRASHED 3 TIMES IN THE BEGINNING OF A ROUND. i ended up losing the round even though it was a win for the rest of my team. i have lost one of my placement matches b.c of bad anet code. can i get my win back and a loss taken out of my record because of the game crashing 3 times when it loading up. i have been playing since launch and not once has the game ever crashed on me in any mode or setting. To have it crash at such a crittiacal moment as this the pvp season ranked games is utterly unacceptable, i would really like to get my win and remove a loss. i had to fight so hard to make up the losing from the 4v5 from not crashing once but 3 times in a row befor the start of the round.

Fine don’t give full immunity to condis. But why should there be no stat to mitigate condi damage like how there’s stat to mitigate physical damage. Why does condi get a free pass to do 100%damage 100% of the time? When there’s so much out there for physical damage. Your complaints don’t stand up at all when the immunity is only TEMPORARY
Endure pain you can stack all the condis on some with this activeated…And the conus will absolutely tick his health
With physical damage you have armor to help mitigate it.
There’s nothing absolutely nothing (food don’t count) to mitigate a condi user who has 2k condition damage

When u have 10 stack of confusion 8 stack of torment slow, bleed, and what ever condi already on you how is dodging going to mitigate the damage? How is a physical invuln like ele focus earth 5 supposed to be effective how? So evade block and blind does not mitigate the condis like how they mitigate physical damage
You evade the attack that would stack 10 confusion on you. Same way you would evade a physical attack. Not a hard concept to follow.
There are so many skills being thrown around in combat…To pick out the suttle nuance of that pacific skill/animation is a laughable matter to consider. Specially when most of necro utility condi menuveare is just a wave of the arm dodging such inconspicuous motion make your side of the argument sound like you have very little experience in a actual PvP or 2-10man combat
Also physical attacks don’t usually do 15k+ damage over time or instantly in the case of confusion since there’s no icd. It’s mostly in realm of 5-10k damage.
Using this argument, you can’t be expected to block/evade power attacks either. So either way, your argument above is moot. Either you can block/evade attacks (which does include both power attacks and attacks that apply conditions), or you can block/evade no attacks due to the chaos of a fight.
Either way, your mitigation skills versus conditions are still better than your mitigations versus power damage, and that is before we even talk about protection and resistance.
Your right you can’t expect to dodge/whatever power attack in that situation and that’s why there are invulnerable and physical damage mitigation skills. And that’s why they added resistance to the game and if you can’t see that then your not looking at the entire picture of combat

theres so many ways to midigate physical damage. evades, invulns, blocks, probably more but this is just off the top of my head.
theres only one way to deal with condi damage and its cleansing, and most cleansing skills are on a 25 sec cd at least.
so there being a boon that mitigates condi damage for a short amount of time seems fair to me. the fact that people are complaining about waiting out a particular skill/boon seems like they dont know anything about tactics and strategy to play around that particular player/build.
Iv been playing fresh air s/f, s/d for a few years now it’s my favorite play style to play. When roaming and sometimes in PvP (unranked for funzies). For me inorder to get full use of my burst I usually have to set them up by knocking them down and switching to fire and phenix and DT. However most of the time the enemy has enough time to brake stun and move out the way of phenix (if I don’t do it point blank) and DT well that is nothing but a safety move now to stop pressure from some melee users since it takes way to long for it to land. If you count the broken cast time/animation to the time it hits the ground it’s ineffective when you have Mesmer shatters that happen instantly, headbutts that happen instantly, backstabs that happen instantly I can go on and on about instant damage moves that other DPS classes have over the lack luster DPS moves a s/f s/d has.
What I’d like to see is phenix having double the movement speed and not a broken cast/animation timming for DT, as well as a faster fall rate.

PvP is a competitive game mode. The top 250 leaderboard should be the most competitive aspect. If you on the top 250 you should have to play a minimum of 3 games aday to stay competitive.
I wouldnt go so far as redisign from ground up, but a few changes I would like to see would be higher base HP at least 15k base, and a higher base def something better then the 1800 we got now.
As far as skills go I would like to see a new set of ultility skills, at least 3 for each magic fire water air and earth.
Fire could be +% damage for a short time, and or burn damage
Water would be heals and condi cleansing
Air would be mobility and blind
Earth would be stability and protrction
These new skills would allow people to focus on a perticular magic and play style that they prefer to use.

if so why does a ranger tank/mending/cavalier amulet class get to have the ability/option to do 5k+ damage, when no other class has that. seems like pet damage is still broken for the better part of a year and they just dont know how to fix it. they are straight up screwing over other classes when they dont think and fix the broken crumbs. i can show you the entire fight i had with that druid he just 1s then switches to pet then 1s again, just leaving i guess his pet to do 90% of the damage. if a class can just press 1 then f4 then f3 with out any way of telling what is about to hit me theres not point in investing time into this game.

dodging is great when you have 3 clones coming at you from different distances, so you dodge 2 and still have the 3rd clone to deal with. cant double dodge not enough frames to get it done, clone speed is so fast not enough time to target and destroy so the 3rd one is a hit. and not only does one clone apply confusion it also applys 3-5 other condis. if i clear with my most usefull condi cleans cleansing fire i get hit for enormous damage, if i just keep the little 5 stacks of confusion and torment along with 2-3 other condis i bleed out faster then you think with only 13k hp and the inability to counter attack do to back lash damage. just not enough counter play to the relentless condi that is mes to make it a fair fun fight.
If you were to have resistance to that particular condi after clearing for at most 2 seconds just so it cant be re-applied and spammed right after some one uses there one and only 32 second condi cleans skill things wouldnt be so one sided. i use water and clear on regen as well so cleansing fire would clear 4 condis for me. then i have water 1 more, (1 cleans about every 10 secs attunment recharge and switchign time) then i have scepter 3 to cleas as well for 18 sec cd. while the condi mes can just re-apply the same set of and amount of condi that was originally put on me. and now i have no counter play to zed build.
if i clear 1st with just 5 stack of confusion along with a few stacks of torments and 3 other condis to early you fools just put them right back on me with no down time in-between and 5 stack is nothing iv been bombed for up to 20stack at once. the amount of condi replication after you enemy has cleared the condis is to much.
I don’t know if it’s 100% l2p, it not having a internal cool dow kinda makes it unchallenged in damage potenial. When I cleared 5 stacks with cleansing fire those 5 stacks did full damage to be when I activated a cleans skill. Since I have the stack on me befor activating it, once I click cleans the confusion does full damage then it’s cleared making cleansing a double edge sword, well more like a single edge that I stab my self with befor clearing takes affect.
Since attunement switching causes some effects regen water, protection earth, fire might flame blast, Air swiftness and lightingstrike, it seems to do extra unessasary damage that puts eles in a worse state when fighting confusion

It’s really funny that some of you think I don’t read my own thread who wouldn’t. I main ele s/f I forgot confusion is d damage on skill use so when I switch to air 3-4 skills go off pretty much at once so that where then hi spike damage probably comes from, I notice 5 stacks of confusion was a ticking me for about 1.2k not too bad so I attacked and then lost 10k+ instantly, I used cleansing fire right after switching to air and losing 10k then I went down having 13k hp is such a handicap it just ruins all fairness and equality in a 1v1.
