I recently logged on to several characters that i had not played in quite some time. On two of them, opening a birthday gift caused the character to be downed and I did not receive anything. One was a 1st year gift, the other was 2nd.
I made one character as soon as head start began and did not receive a gift. It was months before I created any more characters.
I didn’t realize there were farming nerfs. I tried farming once, but after half a hour it started to feel like a job. Since I already have a job that pays in dollars I stopped farming and have never gone back since.
I’ve been experiencing the same thing.
Took a while, but it’s done.
Now it just sits on the Lions Arch screen with the animated symbol in the lower right corner of the screen. :/
I’ve got to do something with my keybinds. I play with the default setup (always have with MMOs) but it’s just not working. With Ranger as my main I’m using the F1-4 keys way too often to not remap them to something more convenient.
Another thing is that I usually use mouse-turning. However, I revert to being a skill-clicker for those hard to reach keys, so when I’m doing that I have to keyboard turn. It’s clunky & clumsy and I gotta stop.
Any suggestions for how to lay out a Ranger’s F1-4 actions or a gaming mouse that’s not too ridiculous? I don’t want a mouse with 20 buttons on it, then I’ll just be thumb dancing while maneuvering my character.
Same for me, with mesmer as my main. I’ve re-mapped my 9 skill to the auxilliary thumb button on my mouse, and that helped my game play immensely. 6 I can usually reach just fine and 0 I don’t mind clicking on. That leaves 7 and 8 for me to figure out. I tried a complete re-map once, but that felt very awkward and I’m not willing to put in the time to learn a brand new setup.
The only other modification I made from the default setup was to bind ‘x’ to look behind. I find this very useful, particularly when soloing a camp in wvwvw when I want to watch for someone sneaking up behind me.
I had a similar problem until reading this thread. For over 3 months I’d not received any mail and my mailbox was at 9/10. After deleting the oldest message in my box, which was a 3 month old green star message, the flood of old mails started coming in. Everything from gold seller spam to people offering thanks for helping them out. It took a good 15 minutes to receive and delete everything.
Any other shape would probably make me wonder if I was missing part of the zone.
Similar drop rate for me. I’ve gone for a long period with nothing, then one run I got 3 globs. Next run I got 1 glob, and after that I had a very, very long dry spell. It’s just random.
So THATS why when I have 15 supply it gets reduced to 10!
No gold on character = withdraw from bank.
No gold on account = free.
So far, I’m enjoying the foundation of what is to come. I quite like the dodge daily – it rewards me for practicing something I need practice at. I’m also very interested to follow the new story as it unfolds. Actually, I want the next chapter now!
I choose to go with the fast easy method on week days because I only have around 30 minutes to play. On weekends dailies happen as a result of regular play. I wouldn’t play at all on weekdays if it weren’t for laurels.
Healer can also be achieved quickly in the Thaumatova Reactor in Metrica Province. Also, there is a wide variety of very easy to kill mobs, so you can get variety/quantity/dodge quickly there too. Heck, you might even get a few events in too while you’re there.
I’ve never played in an organized group and so far, have not had too much trouble in FoTM. Mind you, I’m only at level 28. From 20 – 25 the pugs I was in got the grawl stage and only once did any of the groups I was in wipe. The most difficult stage I’ve encountered so far was the one where you break the seals with the hammer. At level 27 we accidentally killed chanters on both sides of an upper level and we were unable to recover from that.
For me, I expect anything beyond level 30 will not be worth doing due to the time commitment and the fact that I’ve never done an organized run.
With the patch, I expect only levels 10 and 20 to be popular, and perhaps some level 30. I’d be surprised if anyone does level 13 after the patch.
Invisible squire. (not invisible squirrel… those things will drive you nuts!)
Yep. Because of this I rarely speak in game any more. I’m afraid of getting silenced.
It looks like there are at least two threads on this subject.
Merge?

Apparently this can also be done with a mesmer. I had a group ask me if I could do it. Since I don’t know how, and the group didn’t, we followed the usual route.
from dictionary.com: A two-syllable pronunciation [fawr-tey] is increasingly heard, especially from younger educated speakers,
It seems that the Priory are on the leading edge of the change of pronunciation.
Same for me, I think. I didn’t see anything “ding” when I completed my last book, anyway. I didn’t check my score before and after reading the last book though.
if you go to guildwars2 wikipedia, and search tears of itlacol, theres a link to a video, and also descriptions to how you can complete this puzzle despite the fact u cant see the left eye pattern….or you can just youtube it and copy placements, they’re allways the same
Even the workarounds on wiki don’t always allow completion of the puzzle. I was only able to complete it by visiting the puzzle immediately after a reset.
During the event and the day after, i fought in the zergs to kill the Veteran Karka. None of them dropped anything at all, and took an extremely long time to kill. Hunting them was very disappointing, and is why no one tries to. The young karka also take too long to kill for the returns you get, compared to other level 80 mobs.
young karka long to kill? I beg to differ. Takes less than 20 seconds to kill them. I am S/P thief.
Anyway, nice vid. Will try it today
YES, young karka take longer to kill then most level 80 mobs. Let us know if you were happy or disappointed hunting the Veteran Karka.
Depends on class. For mesmers young karka die faster than any level 80 mob.
- Urmaug’s gives credit when you get to the chest.
(Testing notes: I kept the monthly achievement screen open, so I could see exactly when/where the “discovery” triggered.)
I got Urmaug’s a short distance into the cave.
It is working as intended. All you have to do is discover the starting point of the jumping puzzle. Completion is unnecessary.
I use it simply because it allows completion of dailies events quickly. Also allows for a quick easy variety of mob kills. Other than that, I’m not much interested.
Better rewards would draw me in more often.
A special event for what I’m assuming in the US is a holiday? I’m guessing it happens in January? Most of the world probably doesn’t much care about an American only holiday.
I have 4 hours into it so far and have yet to beat it. Timed puzzles in general are very difficult to beat. The pressure to move quickly is what makes me fail most of the time. The peppermint jump gets me quite often too.
The one time I made it to the snowball, I was so close to death from lack of health, I doubt I’d have made it. I wonder if having more than 15 800 health would help…
Nope, not too easy. I’ve spent about 3 hours on it, and the best I’ve managed is to be flattened by a giant snowball.
it’s a hack combined with a bot. bots port to a node, then mine, then port to the next node. It’s been around for months.
Still bugged one month after it’s introduction.
We are currently looking into this issue as one of our higher bug priorities. We want to thank everyone who posted and helped with the investigation of this issue. We are working daily on improving the overall state and experience of WvW. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and consideration.

Thanks for acknowledging this bug. I was starting to wonder if this one was being looked into.
Love the map and new enemies. It’s nice to have another enjoyable level 80 area (I don’t care for the look and feel of Orr)
The jumping puzzles are fun – one hard, one easy
Hate the sand worms quest. Far to easy to die. Enjoyed all the other quests I’ve encountered so far.
Love the mini dungeons. I worry about finding a group for the scaled dungeons later on as they become less popular.
I enjoyed the story line of the event, and the reward. At 2+ hours, it was too long. 1 hr would have been good. Many of the enemies took too long to kill. I enjoyed that the enemy occasionally pushed us back a bit. I liked the strength of the enemies – plenty of people dying, but not so many as to prevent progress. I didn’t like that I couldn’t see the enemies most of the time – perhaps a smaller limit on the number of people in a zone would have helped.
Fahd is bugged on Dragonbrand. There is a quest to assist him in defeating Krait patrols, but there are no patrols.
It’s bugged, at least for some people, including me.
I experienced the same thing and was unable to complete it. When I arrived, one torch was lit and there were at least twice as many stones strewn about as were needed, most likely there were three times as many. After trying many different orientations of the patterns that I found in youtube videos I finally gave up.
"Raw Candy Corn" harvesting nodes briefly visible after Halloween special event

I saw this once today too. Thought I was having flashback from too much candy :p
I had no idea I had this “bug” too, but I do. I’ve never had any world bonuses and I’ve been playing since beta.
I had only a little trouble with bugged goggles – they didn’t auto-remove. I could go anywhere in the world in my swim suit, which was kind of fun
To fix that bug, I had to do a dive that was anything other than the one that caused the bug. The reason I post this is to suggest that maybe doing an alternate dive first will fix your trouble with Koofooloo.
Unless I “leave transform”, diving goggles do not get removed from my character. I can run anywhere in the world wearing swim trunks. Map travel does not reset it. This started very recently for me – earlier today diving goggles timed out properly.
edit:
The issue started after doing the dive at Brigatine isles. My dive count did not increase after doing that dive. I went to the Vigil keep dive next, in my swimming trunks, and put on the goggles at that site and got credit for it. After that dive I was still in swimming gear. After re-doing the Brigatine dive the goggles timed out properly and I got credit for the dive.
I’ve had the same problem since beta. I can put fires out, but dumping water on a drunk doesn’t work for me. Like others, I’ve tried standing on, in front of, beside, facing various directions and nothing works. The AreanaNet drunks must party very hard!
Until seeing this bug report, I thought I was doing something wrong and something other than a water dump was actually needed to wake drunks. I’ve tried various emotes and none of them work either.
It has something to do with an upcoming October event. Something to do with Halloween. It’s not a bug.
Approximately half an hour after the monthly achievement was reset for the month of October I completed a quest that earned enough experience that I completed the survivor portion of the monthly. The next day, both survivor and my progress were replaced by “???”.
Oops, just saw another thread on this. Apparently it’s something to do with an end of October event.

Yes, I’ve had the problem too. It’s particularly annoying if both you and the enemy survive the fight. You can’t teleport to a waypoint unless you log out because you “cannot teleport while fighting”.
I’ve seen something similar at a jumping puzzle. Gusts of wind blow across a vine bridge in an apparently random manner, making it unusually difficult to cross. I turned to youtube for the solution and saw that all the gusts were coming at once. Like sync dancing, the gusts had gone out of sync. I wonder if the issues are related.
skill point has move back on top of the mountain, 9/23
The skill point has moved, but it doesn’t activate. Still bugged, but differently.
