Future of Group Content

Hello,

I’m curious on a few things.

Someone told me that Shattered Observatory is the last fractal in the fractal story progression, but I can’t find a reference to that. Anyone know if it is true?

And if it is…does that mean there won’t be any more fractals added? Or are there plans for a new dungeon type/group content type the is similar?

There was also no mention of group content in the expansion announcement, so I’m really curious what the future holds with regards to that…running around solo is fun an all, but working with a group is much more satisfying.

LF a few fun, laid back folks for raiding!

Hello All,

We have a group of 7 or 8 of us that play once a week on Sunday from 3-6pmPST. Some of us also play during the week and some only play on Sunday…thus, we are pretty casual. We’re looking to find a few more people that don’t have a lot of time, but could probably play once a week and would like to work toward Forsaken Thicket and beyond.

A few things about us:

- We all have fairly involved work and family lives, so it’s unlikely that we’ll ever increase beyond one scheduled event a week.
- Most of us used to play MMORPG’s a lot…but have since had to scale back to accommodate kids and the like. And, unfortunately, most of those kids are too young to help us raid. :-)
- This isn’t really a guild requirement request, but more a search for a few more like minded folks with busy lives that might like to be a part of our gang. We, of course, will welcome you to join our guild, but there is no requirement.
- We’re not looking for people to drag us through…we’d like to make our way through the content taking the challenges as they come and figuring out how to overcome them as a group. Thus, there will surely be plenty of wipes and fun discussions as we figure out how to do better on the next attempts!
- Most of us are 35+…but we’re not against youngin’s…as long as they act maturely.

Anyone in a similar position to us that wants more info, feel free to post here or send me a mail in game.

Thanks!

[Suggestion] New Build System [Merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Emosewa.9731

Hey all,

I’m sure this must have been brought up at some point, but searching for “saved specs” and “saved builds” is not bringing up much. I’m wondering if anyone knows if this has been discussed and what sort of response there has been from development?

It seems it would be easy since our builds are saved for sPvP and for WvW even if we change them outside of those areas. It would be a great thing to have…even if it were a gem store purchase. I’m an old fart, and remembering what my spec for that other build I liked is a pain…would be wonderful to just have to click a button to switch from my condi to my zerker or to heals or whatever.

Just curious…thanks!

Suggestion for Fractal Queuing

Emosewa.9731

Hello,

I’m wondering if there’s any way we can have it changed so that when you’re fractal level 45ish you can enter the 51-75 LFG channel? As it is now it’s very hard to progress to 50 because when the daily says anything other than Mai Trin, a huge number of people who would have been offering groups before now no longer offer those groups in the 21-49.

If the daily is Volcanic…why do it at 46 if you can do it at 28 or at 52 and get an extra chest?
If the daily is Cliffside…why do it at 47 if you can do it at 33 for the same reward?
If the daily is Thaumanova…why do it at 48 if you can do it at 55 and get an extra chest?
If the daily is Aetherblade…why do it at 49 if you can do it at 54 and get and extra chest?

It’s since the 46-49 choices all fall at a place where there are much lower versions in Tier 2, and Tier 3 versions that are barely over 50…it’s become very difficult to get a group to raise fractal level in that range without sitting in queue a long time waiting for folks willing to do fractals that aren’t the daily.

It’s not the end of the world or anything…but lowering the lfg channel requirement a few levels would be an easy fix so that people could more quickly “get to the fun” and continue to increase their fractal level.

So…not sure if there’s a bug. But went to go try the new queue system out and first match…full PUG against a 5 man premade. Haha. Anyone else experiencing this? Needless to say the match wasn’t a whole lot of fun. Before, I’d only get 2 or 3 person premades and usually had a 2 or 3 on my side too…never had a PUG vs full premade before. Seems like there may be a bug in the new system.

The structure for this was poorly thought out and is the source of all the akitteng.

1. Remove the achievement for playing…only have an achievement for winning.

2. Remove the candy reward from losing…losing should reward nothing.

3. Make the winning reward greater (half the time it seems I only get one candy from a coffer so it’s the same as the losing reward)

Creating an arena where afk’ing can be profitable even in the smallest degree is creating an arena that is not fun for all the legit players out there. Teleporting them out does nothing. They don’t care. Even removing them does nothing because it will make the team they started on still be penalized for the time they’re in. Just make it so there’s no point in akitteng.

Thank you.

Can we get a Grenade Blast Finisher?

Is there a reason that none of the grenades are blast finishers? Could we possibly have just one? On some weapons and classes it seems like every ability is a finisher of some sort and then on others where it makes sense it sometimes seems like none of them are. Does anyone know if there’s a balance reason that none of the grenade explosions count as a…well…blast?

The majority of people are missing the point in this thread. It’s not that anyone HAS to do them, or NEEDs to do them….it’s that the design creates a situation that causes players to feel like if they don’t do them they are missing out on something they need to get what they want. Does that mean the world will end? Of course not…but that doesn’t make it good design either.

For a great many players, dailies control what they do in the game…in a game that specifically made “play the way you want to play” their log line! And yes…it affects the more casual than the less casual. Take three groups of players:

The very casual that only have time to log in a few times a week…are screwed. They’re not going to get the items via hardcore routes as they are probably still level 5 or 6 in fractals. They’re going to get laurels very slowly as they may not even finish the monthly, let alone a daily more than twice a week. And when they DO get to log on, they feel compelled to do the daily as it’s the only slow path to getting what they want.

The average player probably has time to log in most nights, but not for a long period of time. Maybe an hour a night. For these people they are given a choice between doing the dailies or doing what they want to do. The problem is, a great many of these people will feel compelled to do the daily because they want to work towards progressing their character, and they get stuck in a rut of feeling like playing for fun costs them getting what they want on their character…which is not fun.

For the hardcore player…none of this matters. They are going to get the gear via other means, and they play so much that the time it takes to do a daily doesn’t matter. In fact…they play enough that they probably don’t even have to look at the dailies because they just happen.

Pro daily arguments that come from a stand point of “they just happen”, “it doesn’t take long to do them”, etc…are really irrelevant because those arguments support a play style that is completely unaffected by dailies.

Arguments of “they don’t give you much so it’s not a big deal if you miss them”…miss the point. As long as they are the ONLY avenue to attaining a currency that gives things people want…they pressure the player into playing a certain way and that is bad design.

I just want to know what it is you do all day that enables you to equate playing a video game with a “Job”. If you honestly consider running a few events in a video game “work”, what the heck do you do for a living?

Is this really a difficult concept? If something makes a person feel like they have to, need to, should be doing something every day to get something they want, it becomes “like” a job…not equivalent, not the same as, not identical…but “like” it.

Running events is not work…it’s fun when I’m in the game. Feeling like there is a pull to log in every day for 30 mins, an hour, whatever…even when I don’t really want to…is “LIKE” a job.

Not if the weeklies are doable in one play session. Basically, all I’m saying it requiring people to log in once a week is preferable than daily to get their reward. Personally, I think it’s a terrible idea to attach any currency to some repetitive action…be it dailies, monthlies, grinding the same mob, etc.

Monthlies are fairly easy to complete at some point over a month…just like dailies are easy to complete in a bit of time over a day. The problem is giving players a feeling they need/should/whatever you want to call it every day to get their reward. I

The key lesson to learn here is self control.

I love how people feel that somehow failings in the player are equivalent to good game design….somehow because a player feels a need to get something they want…a feeling that is, oh, human…that makes the design good and the players flawed.

It’s also no about needing something right now. It’s silly to assume that a player won’t feel the desire to log in if it’s the only way to get some currency they want for something, and that they won’t feel they’ve missed out if they don’t.

Yeah…I don’t think many folks actually read the post. I don’t care that it only takes 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 4 hours…the point is you shouldn’t make players feel like they NEED to log in every day to get something they are after. As I said…give 7 laurels for a weekly, or make the monthly 30 or 40…I don’t care…but stop making players feel they should log in every freaking day.

Dailies are horrible. In every game. The fastest way to make a game go from fun to a job…is adding dailies. And if you add a daily that rewards a currency type that is attainable in no other way…it’s just plain kitten poor design.

Anything that forces players to feel like the MUST log in DAILY or fall behind on their quest for whatever they want is terrible. When I get home from a long day at work, finish dinner, put the kid to bed, and feel like kicking back and watching a little TV or reading a book before bed…but suddenly remember “Oh Crap, I have to log in and get my daily for that stupid Laurel”…I get overcome with a desire to punch someone. Well, ok, not overcome :-)…but seriously, who thinks this is a reasonable way to treat the player base?

I’m sorry…that came out more rant-like than I intended…but the whole idea of dailies just makes me angry.

Give 30 laurels or 40 laurels or whatever you want for the monthly and just give gold and exp and karma for the stupid dailies already. Or 7 for weeklies that can be finished in a single play session.

Dailies. Are. Poor. Design.

I feel like GW2 is up there near the best MMO’s in the early going. Once you reach higher levels I’m not convinced…it tends to lose it’s luster at level cap I think. Whether you grind or not is a personal thing, I think…for those that really want the few things that there are to want…like legendaries…I hear there’s a lot of grinding. For those that just enjoy bopping around and whacking on mobs in whatever event pops up around them…not much grinding.

Everyone makes good points, but I’m still not convinced that it’s enough from a design standpoint to hold people’s attention. Again, I’m not trying to make a rant post, but really find answers that can improve my game experience…I do enjoy GW2 for the most part, but find it harder and harder to feel like playing. And I don’t think I’m alone in having a guild that has had most of its people quit playing or drop to playing a few times a month. And a lot of that I feel has to do with no “carrot” to drive us to do more.

Yes…some of the content can be fun, and the whole play the game to play idea is great on the surface. But honestly, most of the content is pretty similar…and at least plays similar. As I said in the original post, I think that MMO’s really could be called SimCharacter games. We all love our characters and enjoy developing and adding to them…but there needs to be something that seems exciting to develop or add. In this case, there just doesn’t feel like there is much.

Fractal weapons are definitely a good example…and yes, just because I think they look a little weak doesn’t mean everyone does. My point wasn’t so much that they’re ugly but that they are the only choice really for an item that feels a little bit special to get (other than legendaries).

And yes, haha, people just have bad fashion sense too…but I’m thinking even individual items. For example, someone could have a disaster of a full outfit that has shoulderpad that just make you go WOW! You might not want the rest of their outfit but you find yourself thinking, those shoulders rock!

It is true that I feel most of the armor skins are pretty weak, and that may be adding to the lack of desire to really work on them. Crafteing a full exotic set really isn’t that hard, though I haven’t done it. I think I can make 3 pieces right now if I want to just from what I’ve collected with normal play…and making money if you play the auction house is pretty easy. Made 3 or 4 gold the other night in 20 minutes….just have to find something that is selling fast in high volumn with a good ratio and buy and sell like crazy until the ratio drops.

Anyway, I guess my question is really…what keeps people playing regularly? How many people really play just to play content again? And how many are working toward something they want to achieve or attain?

I think you’re missing the point. It’s not about power and such. The ascended rings, neck, etc…are not even visible on your character. Their stated carrot was cool looking skins to set characters apart…those skins don’t really exist. There are some interesting skins, but they don’t set characters apart or really provide much of a carrot because they are relatively simple to get and everyone that wants them has them.

It’s true…the fractal ones add one avenue for a different skin. But that’s only one avenue…and they’re not particularly good looking (though that’s not really the point either).

So…I understand both sides of the gear treadmill argument, and I understand ANet’s desire to create a game without one. And I’m fine with that, and sort of view GW2 as an experiment on that front. What happens here will probably affect how future games look at progression and the need for it.

My problem is not the lack of a gear treadmill, but the lack of any significant carrot that gives me a feeling that I really want to go do that.

When I first read the early beta info on GW2, I was under the impression that that carrot would be weapon and armor skins. I admit I was skeptical, because from a design stand point I tend to feel that more players than not desire a bit more. But I was open to the possibility that graphical uberness might be enough to make people want items that in all other ways were identical to run of the mill ones anyone could get.

The problem is…those items have yet to materialize. With the exception of the legendaries (and some holiday items), there are no items in the game that the attaining of will really give anyone a feeling that they’ve got something special. Virtually every skin in the game is attainable by everyone with a fairly small amount of effort…most often either dungeon runs for tokens or crafting. In fact, there has never been a time in my play since release that I have EVER seen someone pass by and though, “ooooo, I want one of those!” Or “I need to get THAT!” The only thing that draws my attention usually is “woah, what kind of freaked out color scheme is that guy wearing?”

I feel like if the no-gear progression system is to work, there need to be more items that have distinct graphics that are at least mildly difficult to attain. Items that aren’t simply a matter of grinding a few tokens. Whether rare drops, or rewards from particularly hard boss fights, or difficult quest chains…heck there could even be solo instances that are extremely difficult to complete. Something that gives players something to aspire to.

As it is now, I haven’t even seen half the dungeons, just the ones that drop the tokens I want, and while I feel like I really should make some effort to get to the other ones…it’s hard for me to drum up the incentive.

At the end of the day, for a great many people these games are SimCharacter. It’s all about the character and building him or her up. If there’s nothing to build, it’s hard to care.

Yeah…it’s hard to know without more data, but I would venture to guess that the majority of people guesting to do these events are doing so on a second, third, or more characters.

So, if that’s the case, then I don’t think guesting is the issue. The guesting function seems to be fine, and the problem in the fact that people have been given incentive to pour into other servers by masses. I was at one event where so many people in chat were talking about this being their 3rd or 4th time that day that it seemed clearly at least half the people present were guesting on an alt for more loot.

Anet made it clear that they don’t even want us to do the same dungeon more than once a day….we get DR on tokens if you do. I can’t imagine their design concept encompasses a desire to have people doing nothing but switching characters and farming dragons/world bosses.

Dragon Chests - Once per account per day

Emosewa.9731

I’d like to suggest that the Dragon/major event chests be once per day per account…not per character. I think this would accomplish a few things for the benefit of all.

It would eliminate the ability to do nothing but farm chests on multiple characters, there by eliminating a lot of the need for people to guest all over the place and overpack the events. It’s clear that ANet doesn’t want people to just sit and farm a few events, or there wouldn’t be DR on events. Right now there’s little incentive for many people to do anything BUT farm dragon events. Put people back into other parts of the game.

The goal was to make the major events worth doing…they are now. There’s no reason to make them worth farming…that’s an entirely different thing. The chests are great as they are…and a great improvement on the satisfaction when finishing one of these events. That’s plenty. Once per account per day still leaves 12ish of these events out there for hardcore farmer types to do…that seems like plenty. If they have more time on their hands they can get back in dungeons, fractals, WvW, etc.

Is this a programming possibility?

Which is fine…like I said…it’s nice still stuff.

The example of the reactor in Metrica is more along the lines I’m curious about, because it’s totally separate little “secret” thing that’s not on any achievement table and that the game doesn’t really point you towards. I’ve heard there are secret rooms in dungeons and such…has anyone found any of them? Is there anything in them?

Thanks much for the replies Karizee. I not planning to end my search of nooks and crannies…I’m just curious if people have found truly “secret” things, or at least “hidden” things that aren’t one of the puzzles.

Hey all,

I have a question about exploration and hidden areas and things. I’ve explored around a lot, but most everything I’ve found turns out to just be another puzzle that’s marked on the achievement sheet. Does anyone know if there really are “secret” places to find, and is there any potential reward for finding those places beyond…“oh, nifty, an area I didn’t know was here!”

In the literature for the game, one of the more exciting points mentioned was that people would be rewarded for exploring and going off the beaten path. Now, while I think there is a certain fun factor to finding a place just for the sake of finding a place….it doesn’t feel terribly rewarding, since it’s mostly just a visual.

Does anyone know if there are any “secret” areas that have boss or champions that spawn? The wiki mentions “legendary” bosses that are supposedly rare and hard to find…do these really exist? Has anyone found a mob with a purple frame? Are there secret drops that are boss specific, even if only cosmetic? I’ve heard talk that there are “hidden” achievements that aren’t on the achievement list? Anyone found any? Do they give titles or anything?

Don’t get me wrong. I enjoy finding hidden areas and just seeing a new visuals, maybe taking a screen shot or two…but it would be so much more satisfying if there were hidden adventures, treasures, and creatures to vanquish.

Anyone have any idea what the extent of hidden or secret things is in the game?

I actually love the way DB works. It’s much more fun for me to worry about my position and such, than to just whack buttons.

You can successfully DB a mob on the edge of a cliff or bridge by positioning yourself on one side of the mob on the edge and flipping to the other side on the edge. It just requires that you don’t spam DB and execute some character control.

Also…while traits may be set specific to a weapon set, you can swap a lot of your traits on the fly and we have…gasp…weapon swap. While you may not be at peak performance with different weapons and traits, this game is not about topping damage meters and there are no enrage timers.

Thank god dungeons and encounters are not designed to make sure every weapon and trait set works perfectly every time.

It’s too bad that many had issues with graphics turned down. All 10 of us had no problem in our overflow…and as I said…we are not on top end systems.

The bottom line is that if you missed the event, you missed nothing but some fun time. If you made the event, you hopefully had some fun…if you didn’t…don’t go next time.

There is no reasonable, adult reason to do away with these type events in their current form. That’s not to say it was perfect.

I do think that they might have had time zone labeled servers at release, like many games…but I think they wanted the option of WvW going 24/7.

As far as WHY do it…I think I answered that:

1) There is no other way to get that many people together at one time to create an epic event. If you do it multiple times, people are not all going to show up at once, or far fewer. It might be possible to do it few enough times that there is a high likelyhood of filling an entire instance of the zone each time…since there were obviously a lot of overflows for this one.

2) If you do an event that changes the world…it’s far less cool, interesting, exciting, etc…to have it revert and then happen again.

And as far as complaints of paying customers…this was a FREE content patch. No one paid a dime for it. If they had released no patch in November, everyone would have gone on their merry way doing dungeons or whatever their content of choice is.

Part of creating an MMO is creating content of all types, even if some of that appeals or doesn’t to different people. This is one form of content that can’t really be achieved in any other way. Doing away with it just because some people couldn’t make it at that time…is absurd.

There is nothing that was gained by anyone doing the event that can’t be obtained in other ways. It was simply a fun event that was enjoyable if you could make it.

I realize there are lots of complaints about one time events, and people crying about missing it, etc. But one time events accomplish what no other idea I’ve seen put forth, and no other game on the market achieves at this point. That is the gathering together of truly massive amounts of people on an epic scale to achieve a singular goal together.

If you make an event repeatable, no matter how cool the event is, you will never get that many people together in this day and age to do it…and because of that, the event becomes less epic.

I understand that some people don’t like an event with masses of people. Fine. There are plenty of other events and things to do that don’t have masses of people. I understand that some people are upset that they couldn’t make it when they wanted to…that’s understandable, but not a good enough reason to stop them. I missed a massive Halloween party this year that I really wanted to go to because I had to work…am I asking these people to never put on that massive party again because I couldn’t make it?

There will be other parties, you will make it to some and not make it to others.

The bottom line is there is no other way to achieve what a one time event achieves, and the sacrifices are worth it. In the end, it’s one event. They also added an entire new dungeon for those that want to do that. There are new events that do repeat. There’s a new jumping puzzle, if that’s your thing, etc. This is the second massive patch since release…already…both were different and had different things to offer. There will be another patch in December, I’m sure, with other new stuff and ideas.

If loot envy is the issue…good god…grow up. There will be other chances for loot and precursors. They’ve even said there will be new ways to GET precurors. Personally, and I’m sorry on this account ANet, the legendary weapon skins are all horribly ugly. And they’re just that…skins basically, because the stats are the same as other weapons available in the game. If you want a my little pony bow so badly that missing one chance to get one is causing you to lose sleep…then…just…wow. Even the most sought after…Sunrise and Twilight…look in use like a 5 year old finger painting.

But I digress…

If people can go do an event later, another day, put it off until tomorrow, then many will. Until someone can fathom an idea to achieve what a one time event does, without making it one time, losing them would be a shame.

Thanks much ANet! This event did what no other in recent times has been able to, and gave a bunch of us memories of the old days in EQ1. Masses of people in the same area fighting for one common goal. We had 10 of us in vent and we were laughing and having a grand ol’ time for all two and a half hours.

I don’t have a great computer, playing on a laptop, but I didn’t lag at all once I turned off shadows. I didn’t really get any rewards that were worth much to me, but the 20 slot bag was nice. However, I do think that had you not given any decent rewards you’d be hearing an equally large protest in the other direction.

I know that some are complaining, but I look forward to many more epic one time events…even if I can’t make the next…and I hope you continue to do them. They achieve something that cannot be achieved in an event that repeats over and over.

2 Fractal Questions

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Hey, two quick questions I was hoping I could find an answer for.

The Fractals are great fun, and at least at level 1, not too hard. I’m sure they will get harder, I know. :-) Last night we did the Fractals with 4 of us, three level 80’s and a level 39. We made it through our 3 fractal rotation and saw our level go up to 2.

1) Does this mean, for example, if I play a bunch and level up my fractal level, and then my girlfriend gets home from being out of town and wants to try….that if I group with her she will be forced into a higher fractal rank on her first journey through? She’s played far fewer MMO’s and is still learning…and that would not be much fun for her.

2) The level 39 in our group seemed to get virtually no EXP. When we run normal dungeons the lower levels seem to always make at least one level…so we have fun and it feels like they are moving towards catching up to us. While the fractal was fun, lower levels can’t help but feel they didn’t really gain much on reaching their friends level and being able to do more dungeons, etc. Is there any way that at least lower levels can get Exp hits of measurable amount when the bosses or mini bosses or whatever you want to call them go down?

Thanks much!

Dragons

So…I love the look of the dragons, their animation, the actual fights are even sort of fun. But is it even possible to fail the events?

I’ve fought the Claw of Jormag when I’ve participated in one wave of the elementals that come from his breath…then got called away to deal with something in real life. I come back to a gold medal and a chest to loot.

It just seems a real shame that all these dragons really are are loot pinatas. There are timers online, and people just show up for free loot. No skill needed. No chance of three of the most epic sounding events in the game of changing the world or even being failed.

Hard to pretend that isn’t disappointing. :-( Is there a way to fail that I’m just not aware of? Can that be expanded on? They start to feel like a facebook game with better graphics. Log in according to a timer, swing your sword a few times, bag loot, switch browser pages so the boss doesn’t see you…

I would add the Map to this. I think a lot of the issue for people who say they’ve reached 80 and done it all is that they think 100% map completion means you’ve seen the game. People aren’t playing this game…they are playing the map. And the map only holds about 25% of the content.

Maybe just remove hearts, skill challenges, and vistas from the map until the character has found them on their own. You can keep Points of Interest to point people in the right direction.

Well, in addition…rez zerging makes it so the “status” armor skins hardly have much status. If winning is just a foregone conclusion and the only question is the size of the repair bill.

I’m not really that great a player…so I would definitely be failing. But I’d rather fail and then feel like I’ve accomplished something when I finally do.

I know a lot of people will probably disagree…but is there any way we can get rid of or at least limit Waypoint use during combat in dungeons?

Rez zerging down a boss just feels so unsatisfying. Some of the bosses feel like they’re actually tuned to be rez zerged. It would be so much nicer if they were tuned to a group having to kill them without using a waypoint to return…so if you die, you die, unless someone can revive you in the combat. If the whole party dies, you have to start over.

Team work might actually matter more then.

Drop Itemization

Uh…except it’s sort of hard to avoid normal mobs…haha. They’re on the way to the Champions, they’re in every event, and you’d still need to kill a million for crafting materials. I don’t really think that’s an issue. :-)

Hello,

I would like to suggest a general overhaul to the itemization…it’s one of the few things in the game that just seems way off. I know there are numerous threads where people complain about getting nothing for killing a Champion, etc…and I have to agree that it’s a little underwhelming.

I’d like to suggest a system where “trash” mobs…or the most basic mobs…only drop white gear, salvage stuff, rare crafting mats, and vendor trash…with a very slight chance to drop a blue item.

Veterans should have a very high chance to drop a blue item, with a slight chance to drop a green.

And Champions should ALWAYS drop at least a blue, with a high chance for a green and a slight chance for a yellow.

Perhaps, all of those move up one tier around level 60, so that Champions have a slight chance to drop Exotics.

As it stands now…even I just skip Champion mobs that aren’t a part of an event, and I tend to be someone that likes to fight for the fun of it. But it’s so disappointing to fight for ten or fifteen minutes and get a tooth, right after AoEing trash mobs in an event for 5 minutes and getting 5 or 6 blues and greens.

If we lose the conditioning that trash mobs give blues, greens, and even yellows, then we can seek out and have a reason to kill Champions…even hunt them down. I know you don’t want people to “farm” champion mobs…but how is that different from farming normal mobs? The DR on loot can still kick in if someone kills a champion more than once in a row or something.

This will probably also help the flood of items in the game…since there will be far fewer drops…even if people do farm Champions. Right now garbage mobs drop items up the wazoo! Heh.

Yeah…not gonna happen. They’ve said their view is tank and healers make the game too easy. They don’t want that. Tanks make is so DPS don’t have to work hard at anything but pushing buttons in a certain order. Healers make it so if you screw up you have a reset button.

That’s their view….if you want to heal, there are a number of games that allow it. This one isn’t going to.

Asking for it is like saying I want European football (soccer) to allow all players to catch the ball because I like American football.
