So it peaked my interest – but playing your game still hinges on the following question: Is there an in game “dungeon finder” tool implemented?

My response to common spoken concerns in GW2.

Having lost some of the most basic of MMO items such as addons, macros, and the lack of an actual dungeon/group finder is really key to my own personal longevity in this game.

I downloaded the latest event patch… logged in for literally 3 mins enough to walk to the new dungeon… and see how terrible the game feels with no basic MMO functions… then logged out again.

Downloaded the expac to another MMO (not WOW) and am having an absolute blast with addons, macros, complex builds, and gasp REAL progression again.

I might play this game again if they ever decide to incorporate those basic MMO functions back into it.

With no dungeon finder I will not be playing anyways…. so Ascended gear is a moot point for me personally. Am busy playing a different MMO right now that actually HAS a proper instance finder DONE THE RIGHT WAY… and no: it’s not WOW, however it did just recently release an xpac. ><

This is hilarious to me.

How can a company not be embarrassed when their player-base create something that obviously should be in the game to begin with? Do you plan to incorporate this into the game at any point?

My question: will there ever be an actual dungeon finder/looking for dungeon feature in this game? (Follow up: will that feature include cool things like incentives <aka - daily quests>, porting people right to the instances, replacing people who drop group <including a small bonus for people successfully replacing the droppers> and other information you may have about it?)

If they are revamping all of the dungeons and adding more… awesome. I’m all about that. But I will continue to NOT play this game until there is a proper LFG/dungeon finder in place.

To you: it doesn’t matter if you are, in fact, a very tiny microscopic base of player type and when this game goes bankrupt or… instead opts to add items like I suggest to save the populations for this game… but don’t worry there actually are people who are rabid about anything out there too. You name it. Religion. Environment. Anything. There’s the far far right side and the far far left side.

Actually GW1 didn’t go bankrupt. So why would GW2 go with the same community?

I guess it’s a matter of opinion on if the company wants to actually make money here or just happily lay low… never really making a mark in the “MMO” (it is what it was advertised as) industry.

Funny I got the 2 most hardcore forum lifers in my feedback thread. I wonder how good a game it must be if you guys are here forum-defending it instead of actually playing it.

On that note: I’m done responding to you both. It’s crystal clear what side of the line you guys are both on and that you would be unwilling to budge an iota on any single item. So you both aren’t even close to whom I was trying to voice my opinions to. In fact: the opposite of you is who I was trying to reach out to. Someone within the company who might think more central instead of waco-style… someone who might still be open to pushing for (at the very minimum) a dungeon finder for those who like to PVE. Hell… even just that might entice me back for awhile.

Telling me my opinion is invalid or less valuable is not asked, or necessary…

Of course it is. Tell me, why do you think ArenaNet asked you to give your feedback in the Discussion Forum instead of just sending it to them directly by e-mail? Has it not hit you that maybe they were seeking other people’s comments on your ideas?

So, as asked by ArenaNet (since otherwise they would not have told you to post your ideas where people discuss them), my discussion about your feedback is: it’s horrible, and ArenaNet should not listen to it.

If you would like to read about how vertical progression is bad for this game, come back after you have read all of this. I would also suggest trying to learn how the forum works before making new topics in the future. Although I wouldn’t be surprised that someone who expected vertical progression in GW2 just jumped in the forum without trying to learn about it…

I don’t live on these forums. I was asked to… and provided a link here in the survey to give my opinions and feedback. I was not provided a link to any specific thread or I would have posted in it.

I’m sorry I have interrupted your obviously very serious MMO life and forums to offer my opinions.

It’s pretty obvious which side of the coin you are on and how venomous you are to defend what you perceive as the very best in what MMOs are about. (No dungeon finder… no macros… no current up to date MMO items… and of course: no type of progression.)

How about trying to accommodate the middle to attract a more well rounded player base?

And acting the way you are right now: so aggressive and off the cuff is not championing your position. It just makes you look like you may want to strap a bomb on your chest at any moment. It’s that rabid, guy. Think about it. Do you think you are going to persuade me or make me push back twice as hard and just shut down any (possibly) valid point you may have? I don’t even care about what you say now to be honest… just because I wouldn’t listen to some bible thumper at my door trying to push through it with a scripture to my face… because of how rabid and in your face they are.

Just understand that you lose your audience even before your point is ever there to be made.

You have nothing to keep me playing. No PVE progression. No PVE dungeon finder. No real gameplay. Your MMO is nothing like other MMOs… and right now: I’m sorry to be the party pooper buuuut…. that is a BAD thing guys.

Yeah, because as The Old Republic has shown us, being exactly like other MMOs is a recipe for success…

Someone described earlier how MMO hoppers jump from MMO to MMO, without even trying to learn what each game is about, in a futile search for something that is a copy of the first MMO they have ever played (read here). The OP here is a perfect example of that – a minimum of research about GW2 before buying the game would have make it clear that the goal of this game was not to be WoW clone number 214.

This is the kind of player that will leave Guild Wars 2, no matter what ArenaNet does. Ergo, it’s exactly the kind of player whose opinion is worth less than two cents.

Again: no need to try to degenerate this thread into a flame war.

That was never my intention in my message. They asked, I provided. If they choose to not listen and not implement some type of progression, tighten PVP to something more… and implement some basic MMO features such as a dungeon finder, macros, and other items… then what do I lose? Nothing. Me, and other players like me, will simply not log in and not purchase any xpacs. And you, and players like you continue to live in your GW2 bliss. OR… they implement these items through following feedback like mine and get players like me back into the game… and get back our pocketbooks.

Having a PVE progression chain and dungeon finder really going to hurt you?

Telling me my opinion is invalid or less valuable is not asked, or necessary… you are just trying to incite and flame.

Do your research before buying the game.

Like I said: I’m only leaving this here because I was implicitly asked for it… my opinions about why I don’t play and why I logged in to Lost whatever event and then quickly logged out again…. that’s it, that’s all. They asked, I am answering.

I just filled out a survey regarding the “Lost Shores” event and asked me to post additional feedback on the forums so I felt obligated in case you actually do listen and care here goes:

You don’t have a PVE dungeon finder in your game: this is a huge negative for me as to why I don’t bother participating in things like “Lost Shores.” For me: this is the single most basic feature that needs to be released with a current-age MMO. The fact that you guys still don’t have one in game is a major detractor for me wanting to play. I did try to log in during lost shores… then I made my way to the entrance of the new instance and was like… meh. I just didn’t even want to bother, really. It just makes it so out-dated of an MMO to not have this 1 basic feature.

There is no real progression for PVE: ok great – so I now look cool. So what? Honestly. And now you want, what? A million hours of my life to upgrade the look of my weapon? Pass. There needs to be a fine balance here between what other MMOs do and this “new” idea. Once you get your character to look as cool as you want them to, there is nothing new to do. Oh wow… so I didn’t explore a million nooks and crannies in the game? I have no intention of doing so in ANY mmo I play. What makes GW2 that much more fantastic and exciting to entice me to get 100% map completion? Do I get a cool item? Do I look cooler somehow? Nope. Nothing. There’s literally no incentive to play now. But grats you know… you managed to eliminate progression from MMOs. Yay you.

PVP is really stale really quick – DOAC was super cool but super stale within a few months. Running up to a brick wall – getting through the wall – killing a tower keep captain… rinse… repeat adnausium is NOT my idea of fun. Since this is, I guess, supposed to be the bulk of what I’m meant to get out of GW2 this is most of the reason I also haven’t bothered logging in to your game for months and months. PVP is just pointless and boring.

You have nothing to keep me playing. No PVE progression. No PVE dungeon finder. No real gameplay. Your MMO is nothing like other MMOs… and right now: I’m sorry to be the party pooper buuuut…. that is a BAD thing guys.

I don’t care about your feelings on the subject and this isn’t here for a debate about if it is good or bad. Again: I don’t care if you want it or not… honestly: no offense in that statement.

Please consider some type of grouping system that allows solo-queuers to only face solo-queuers.

One thing I dislike about other PVP focused games is that they have never worked for the solo queue people… and guaranteed them they will only face other like-minded play styles. Too often you have “pro” caliber players grouping up with each other, or in some games even on lowbie accounts to bypass given stat systems, in order to faceroll casuals/new players… almost always are they on voice chat systems and have played together for years.

I know it would be difficult and I know it would possibly cause some wait times. But there must be a way to design it so that the player can select if they want to prioritize being put with a premade group as a solo-queued player… or only vs other solo-queued players… and have the system match based on that.

Anyway. I was just reading on the blog about the tournaments and it would be nice for a company to finally come clean with it and throw a bone to solo-queuers.

How often does this happen in Cursed Shore? Is it 20% of the time this happens? 50%? Or is this a super rare occurrence brought on by the patch?

People may also benefit from these tips too:

1) Tuning Crystals + Food stacks nourishment bonus. When leveling you should always have both with you.

2) For alts bag space is still important. Equip them with 4x 12+ slot bags.

3) When using event-method leveling ALWAYS have 6x Salvage kits. Only when you are almost done with those is the time you hit up a vendor. A lot of people waste tons of time traveling back and forth from vendors.

4) If you didn’t know – now I’m not going to judge you here but who knows – deposit collectibles always to free up that bag space.

Fastest Way to Level Alts Up

in Players Helping Players

FadeXF.5460

I spent 95 hours for my last level 80 and the majority of the time I spent strictly at events. It is tedious and boring at times…. but this is hands down the most effective method of power leveling right now.

When I make my next alt I will likely do the following:

1->15 – I am open to any hints for this for super fast leveling NOT crafting – but I would just level normally but make sure to do the entire zone + class quest to try to maximize speed here. Not aware of low level fast spawn event hot-spot.

15->35 – Kessex Hills: Centaur Bridge+Overlord’s Greatcamp/Thunder Ridge+Meremoot Hill Boss Spawn. There is a trifecta event area that has about 5 mins downtime only. SUPER fast leveling here.

35->50 – Harathi Hinterlands: Modniir Gorge chain events. I can’t tell you the exact respawn but I don’t think it is very long… there is a 3-4 chain event that starts near Cloven Hoof Pass to protect the area, then make your way to Modniir Gorge and then up to near that skill point area, and back down into that “pit” location to fight a major boss + chest. That entire chain is amazing leveling and item goodness. FAST leveling here.

50->60 – Sparkfly Fen: there is another trifecta event area around the Astrozintli Forelands. I almost always spawns 1-2-3 in a row and then about a 5 min max downtime… you can also catch the major shark event near Orvanic Shore WP in some downtimes if enough people there. Event seems to sync starting at the top right heart, bottom one, then left side… but it can be random so usually I just hover in near the main WP at Astrozintly Forelands and just watch for them.

60->75 Sparkfly Fen: Splinterest Coast waypoint has a 2-3 events that spawn very quickly as well as the dragon spawn every 3 hours. One of the events basically sits right on the heart just above the WP, and the other is in Chokevine Gorge. Even though it is 2 events (usually an escort quest roams downwards towards the WP) the xp is tremendous just due to the amount of mobs that spawn.

70/75->80 I would just pick 1 craft and bust it to 300+. By this point you will have TONS of extra money and never even have to buy a single item since I guarantee you will find every piece of your gear when you level this way.

IN BEFORE “just play the game” – since both you and I are already “done” the game and working on alts this is not a valid statement for this thread.

If anyone has better spots especially 1-15 please throw those out there. I would love to see alt-leveling down under 75 hours played per. That would be nice!! =)

Why does the game only let me play for 20 minutes?

I like how people say “play the game normally” but have no idea at all how hard it is to get their hands on things like “Powerful Vials of Blood” with only 1 legitimate spot to attain said item in the game.

I made another level 80 just to get by the DR. I want to play the game how I want to play it. If I want to try to go for my exotics or legendary items through farming specific “best drop” areas then how am I playing the game incorrectly? One would argue that I’m actually playing the game properly by maximizing my playtime with going for the specific drops I need.

This thread is new and exciting,

Let’s see if all the major points are covered!

1: Accusations! Check.

2: A senseless comparison! Check!

3: Thinly veiled threat! Check!

4: Childish attitude! Check!

I’m sorry, but I completely disagree with this nonsense. Do you… even read the forums?

99% of the threads are locked due to:

A: Repeat Posts. Instead of having one single discussion, people posts the same kitten thing over and over.

B: Posting in the wrong areas. This may be general discussion, but forming posts with ideas in mind belongs in the suggestions forum.

C: Non-Constructive Criticism. It’s few and far between you actually see an intelligent discussion around here. Most complaints I see are doomsday prophecies, threats, or ignorant rants. Even with an intelligent discussion, it eventually leads to-

D: Flame Wars. Someone has a constructive idea, someone else disagrees. Someone next comes in screaming fanboy or white knight. Then someone else comes in and the situation cascades into a useless pile of drivel. I’ve been infracted a couple times, and it was rightly deserved because of this.

E: Spam.

I could go on and on.

This is one of the better moderated forums I’ve been apart of. At least the mods here will actually deal with trolling or idiots flaming one another. At least they deal with all of the ignorant and useless threads that add nothing but spam or dissent. Only one forum I knew of in the past did this, and they had an amazing community over time.

Then i move to another game like WoW… and could not stand most people posting. I doubt you’ll get infracted, but I dare say that this post will probably end up being locked because it’s basically spam.

@Lance Coolee How do you not understand why actions were taken for that post?… lol

I was shocked when I logged back in to see not only was a thread I made deleted but also soaking an infraction… I was not spamming, being mean, being negative… I actually had offered positive enlightening insight. I wasn’t speaking about a topic that had been broached before (to my knowledge) either.

Once shock wore off… then anger began and continues to set in. How dare I not get a voice. How dare they “hang up” on me for zero justifiable reasons. I wasn’t rude. I didn’t call anyone down. I didn’t swear or misbehave.

Which leads me to this topic which soon will be locked and my being banned. But I stand by what I say. This is no way to treat anyone. I wouldn’t even treat someone I hated this way to be honest. I would let them at least finish their sentences.

Well through a quick look of your post history I can’t at all understand how arenanet would look at your liberal use of caps lock, the phrase ‘this is bullkitten’ and calling them liars is viewed as anything but constructive.

They definitely have some explaining to do.

I absolutely admit that I had a spazz session for sure.

However since then I have been calm, polite, and maturely laid out thoughts… and those threads were not only removed, but infractioned as well. I cannot post a thing that doesn’t get an infraction or deleted.

Literally. This thread aside as being an obvious scapegoat. Just leaves the obvious “you gonna ban me anyways so I may as well earn it” mentality. How is that a positive environment to have and foster?

I intensely dislike how the forums are being micromanaged and no matter what direction you take ideas… events… or anything really if “they” dislike you or anything you say you will soak up infractions no matter how politely or intellectually you put things.

No – don’t cop out and say that this is discussing forum moderation. I’m not talking about a single item… I am intentionally being vague because this thread is an open ended discussion about no singular moderated topic or item.

You know what? Fine. You are going to flag and ban me for saying it here on the forums. Knock yourself out.

But do you know what kind of impression that leaves people with? That you aren’t open to feedback – either positive, negative, or even topics offering solutions… or suggestions.

By systematically shutting everyone up, you aren’t leaving a positive environment. It’s the opposite. It’s too easy to pick a vague ruleset and just pick apart your clients… shutting them up… and eventually shutting them up permanently. It’s so much harder to actually sit and listen to the feedback… address the feedback… acknowledge that you are in fact listening and not just locking, infraction, then banning your clients down.

Could you imagine? Seriously imagine someone calling in to a company: “Excuse me, I noticed that I have some billing iss….” “I’mma stop you right there. You have incurred an infraction and I am hanging up this call. <click>”

Like how do you think this makes people feel? Be honest. How would you feel if you weren’t in the drivers seat and were the one taking this abuse from a company? You would hate it if you had a sliver of dignity and honesty.

So go ahead and permaban me. Don’t worry: you will get yours back 10 fold because this game is still young and people are still on the fence with buying or not. You can shut me up and lock me out but it will for sure cost your bottom numbers. Just remember “To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction.”

So by all means continue to infraction everyone and then ban them. Just realize what precedent you are setting here and that it absolutely will impact you.

Go ahead and ban and lock now.

How are they lazy and greedy? I don’t understand that comment.

How much more lazy and greedy are they compared to anyone else? They just want to know when the dragon spawned last.

And I have a timer going – I can tell you that it is on a very nearly 100% accurate 3 hour spawn timer. It only depends on when you click on your stop watch to start the timer – when it spawns – or when it dies. If you start your 3 hour countdown from when it spawns you will have the accurate time.

It’s not dynamic.

What I would love to do is add very specific words to a list and anytime people attempt to say those words in chat, I just don’t ever have to see what they typed. Words like Guild, Gold… or really any other words I would want to add to the list.

Lets face it: the solution to any spam is NOT creating new channels for guild recruitment. We all know that doesn’t work. The only way to beat this annoyance is to provide your players proper tools to prevent what comes onto our screens.

I may hate you for spamming your guild and gold chats… but I also don’t want to micro manage ignore lists and engage these people and truthfully: just because you guild spam doesn’t mean I don’t ever want to converse with you or group with you etc… I just don’t want to see your spam is all.

Just let me block what they say, please. Thanks!

TLRD: you weren’t interested anyway so don’t bother posting.

So I was doing research on a weapon I want to unlock “Naegling” and I found that I need 50 Vial of Powerful Blood, 100 Orichalcum Ingots, 20 Mystic Coins and 50 skill points (Eldritch Scroll) to unlock it. Ok – fair enough. That is a lot. But I can see why.

I didn’t even predict I would need extra skill points for items so as I hit level 80 I had spent every skill point I had on useless skills for my character. Again: whatever no bigs. I didn’t explore a lot of the world, so I set off on my mission to complete 50 skill points. Bravely, me and my 20 silvers ran through the entire world on foot because I couldn’t afford to use the WP system since it’skitten expensive… so I hoofed it playing the game “your” way. You know who you are.

So I finally completed 50 skill points… and then was finding out later that after level 80, you still “level” but instead of gaining a level you gain a skill point. Groan. There’s 2 things I wish I had known. But so be it… whatevs.

So then I start to look up where I can find Vial of Powerful Blood. Well. Trolls. And there is basically 1 spawn grounds for them. Like 1. In the entire game.

So I have loaded up magic find on a specific gear set I use for PVE now… and hit the area. Did you know 30-60 mins of farming nets you like 2-3 Vial of Powerful Blood? That is even with Omnom’s on in full MF gear. Awesome, hey?

So I noticed a few peculiar people who were teleporting around. At first I was like: this guy is lagging hard core. The I was noticing that he was jumping from “troll spawn point” to “troll spawn point.” It was crazy. I flagged the guy as botting. Been there the entire day.

So… if I personally was running a game and I made decisions that impacted my players such as “anti-farming” code… 1st of all before I put said code into my game, I would have a chat with my guys… I would rule out every single possible item on the check sheet for keeping players “legit” prior to implementing some code that DICTATES the way that I want my players to play my game. I would have implemented coding into my game that would automatically ban players who are using bots and especially teleporting around the maps… that wouldn’t even be in question. Do it just once: BOOM – gone. Like instantly: “you have been disconnected from the server” type of gone.

Second thing I would do is implement a system in which, if you are in an area too long, or even randomly… it would pop up a little “type what you see” or clicking images to match what is displayed. Temp ban those who fail this simple display test 2 times in a row.

Third thing I would do is be open and honest with everyone… if I really think that it’s wrong for someone to be in an area for longer than 30 mins: I would announce what the actual coding was that I was implementing. “Guys: we’ve done our utmost and complete best to eliminate the bots, however we are still unsuccessful in our venture… so for the time being you have 50 kills (here’s a countdown for you) in an area and then you have to go to another area for 50 different kills before you come back… but don’t worry: we’ve loaded up more trolls over in X location on another map because we understand why people are attracted to this area and are just trying to have some fun with the game while attempting to attain a cool item.”

I don’t understand the necessity for the anti-farming code ESPECIALLY if you guys have TELEPORTING in your game and no code against that? How amateur is that anyways? No – seriously. Think about how amateur that is before you lock this thread and ban me. Be honest with yourself. NOT ONLY ARE PEOPLE LIBERALLY BOTTING IN YOUR GAME BUT YOU HAVE TELEPORTING UP AND BELOW GROUND… AND YOU HAVE ZERO LINES OF CODE TO PREVENT, CAPTURE, AND DEAL WITH IT.

Totally… completely… amateur. Someone needs to be fired. Someone royally messed up.

The company that makes the game sells gold (Gems, that sell for gold). You are not going to catch them giving people a break on money management. The poorer you are, the more likely you are to buy gems for gold or items. This is why you can’t make money from dugeon runs anymore in my opinion.

Honestly, if they keep the game content up (Add dungeons, PVP maps, world events….you know, stuff we wanna do) there is no reason they shouldn’t want to be paid for the development costs. I would personally rather see dungeons sold for 5 bucks instead of gold sold though.

I have a feeling its going to create a “pay to win” system in the end. But I am sure smarter minds than mine have thought this over before the game came out.

Yup. I am seeing this trending now.

I would pay a monthly fee… it’s not like I haven’t almost the majority of my gaming life. (I was one of the first in Ultima Online… like day 1 I was there… with friends and familly going: “WTF: you are paying a MONTHLY FEE??!!!” )

I would pay a monthly fee to avoid paying for travel costs. I just don’t want to see this nickle and dime garbage on in game currency. Especially when the tool tips themselves say something about a miniscule cost. Yeah ok. It’s not miniscule when you are awarding us like 1-1.5 silver per event… the quickest ones being like 8 mins… the longer ones more like 10-15 mins or more. Especially if you factor in other costs in the game like repair costs, crafting costs, buying manuals for your own character advancement, buying gems from other players or even buying things on the market or for your alts. There’s PLENTY of gold sinks already. There’s no need to pick my bank apart on travel fees.

Anyways. I’ll leave it at that for tonight.

Man I am rich.

Lucky you didn’t get a ban for exploiting 24silvers in 15 mins (or less) hey?

So how is clearing an entire dungeon and completing it over and over an exploit? Umad brah?

When an method you used to get this amount of gold that you are currently bragging about is “fixed” then you indeed exploited a broken mechanic…. otherwise had it been intended it would be there today for the rest of us to enjoy.

But go ahead and keep bragging about your 15 mins for 24 silver exploit like you actually did something to earn that money you bragging about. Braggart.

And no… I’m not mad at you…. bro.

@Crake

Sorry but this is definitely too much cost involved. I grind on an 8 minute event and am rewarded 1.5 silver for my time. 1.5 silver, my friend. That 1.5 silver can barely cover travel costs IN A LEVEL 1-15 ZONE from 1 point to one that is nearly visible while standing on top of the other point.

I would pay 5 gold to permanently unlock travel on my character. This nickle and diming me is just stupid. Stupid stupid stupid.

Instead of getting me to want to go grind to pay for the right to travel in the game it is having the opposite affect on me. I just want to say kitten you to Anet and be done with it. They don’t value my time at all. What a joke. Your dragon events award only certain players… even with everyone actively participating… you have SKILL EVENTS arguably one of the most important character building items that are bugged and unusable… and world events that launch and then bug out wasting my time… and now you want to charge me tons more money to travel in your game while not giving me any method at all to speed up the walking process.

kitten. I even have teleport, invis, and other spells on my mesmer just to get an edge on traveling… but man is this monotonous, tedious, and not fun hoofing on foot zone to zone since I can’t afford the silver to use the WP system. I can’t even unlock speed-me-up abilities on my character.

Man I am rich.

The apologists are also trying to tell me to go out there and explore the world… well I AM. I’m trying to play the game the way YOU are telling me to. And I am getting no gold here going for all the skill points… and walking all over the map because I have 24 silver now to my name is RIDICULOUSLY NOT FUN.

I just want to hop to another zone closest to some skill events that were bugged as I was leveling. But I can’t because it is stupidly expensive. So I have to hoof through all the content I’ve already seen… back and forth… and EXPLOIT going to PVP for a “free” time consuming port to WvWvW then out again.

How utterly STUPID. Not fun. And making a liar out of ArenaNet’s “we value your time.” Bull kitten you do. If you actually did, you wouldn’t force me to grind just to use your stupid WP system.

I am starting to hate this game.

I think the WP system needs the amount at least halved in price. It is ridiculous even moving within the level 1-15 zone costs 1 sil 34… like as if. That is just a WP right beside the one I am standing on. There’s no way that is “cheap” transportation.

Again: thanks for respecting my time and valuing it so much, Arenanet. Liars.

I found that little 7 bubbles per a CM clear just yesterday… and I at least got a few runs of fun out of it.

My problem is that all of the world events are BROKEN. The last week since getting past level 50 I am coming across a nearly 60% ratio of broken world events. This leads me to specific areas doing 3 specific world events on a 15 min timer run. Granted that is a little less than 7bubs for 20 mins of work… HOWEVER… it is still GRINDING.

I am NOT going to try to explore your vast world anymore because there is no point when even a lot of your skill events are BROKEN and I just don’t get rewarded for my time (DRAGON EVENT) at all… so why okay through your crappy, buggy mess of a world?

I want to hit max level in 2-3 days played. 48 to 78 hours in a MODERN DAY MMO to hit maximum level is REASONABLE. Anything more is GRINDY AND UNNECESSARY.

I expect the same time curve for my end dame rewards too. From the sounds of it, once I slog and claw, and not-have-fun my way to max level then I am stuck with garbage grindy end game.

You lied to us. You swore to us and promised that you valued our time. That you understood taking us away from the “real world” is a bit of an imposition to you all and that you would make it worth or time. You aren’t. You don’t.

Fix leveling. Fix grinding.

What event was it and what level are you currently?

I am a level 63 Mesmer and the event is the level 60 Sparkfly Fen Dragon.

However since hitting level 50 I find a solid 60-75% of the world events are bugged. I now just stick with 3 that I know are less buggy… however even those bug out a lot of the time.

I can’t say that I’ve ever run into the problem you faced so idk. It’s a bug, an error, better luck next time but the world did, in fact, not end with your Dragon not giving you loot.

So just ignore all of the bugs that continue to mount on and compel me to not want to play this game? Just sit silent like a little kitten and take it… like it… love it… smile… say “thank you daddy” and walk away satisfied?

I can’t calculate or tell you a numerical “xp” figure of the amount I’ve lost in the last 3 days on bugged events. I know for sure I just gave up even moving towards the events.

BUT WHAT I CAN SAY FOR SURE: 6 hours and 10-12k for the dragon, 4-5silver, and most importantly like 8-10 blue→?? items just today lost on this dragon bullkitten.

I know YOU don’t give a kitten about my time… nor should you. Frankly: I could care less about you. But those who PROMISED me that my play time was valuable to them are who my main concern is with.

Fix this buggy bullkitten.

Chill out…… yeah ok…. I’ve wasted 6 hours waiting today. Chill out? Sure I was going other activities but still: I wanted to kill the dragon. That was my main goal. And get some loot.

I was there from start to end.

Go on: defend it. You know it… you know what they said to us leading up to this game’s release. You want to play devil’s advocate and be an arenanet groupie: fine. But you cannot refute it… they made a promise. And I feel with the bugges events and ESPECIALLY this dragon nonsense that my time is NOT valued… that my time is NOT being considered… and that makes me angry as a client.

You can try to poke at me because I’ve admitted I’m angry right now… you can flame me all you like. I don’t kitten care. But what you cannot do is logically refute what they promised vs what they are currently delivering.

Waiting 6 hours to miss TWICE on an event is NOT FUN nor will that ever be fun in my eyes.

The dragon didn’t have 51 pieces of loot (for you and 50 others) in his pockets?

How can this be?!

I don’t care dude. My understanding is the design is meant more to prevent AFK farmers on the event vs only rewarding 50 people.

Besides… I heard this small thing called: “We won’t waste your time… we know that we are going to pull you away from your friends and family and in doing so, we respect your time… your time is valuable to us and we just want you to have fun.”

How is this fun or a wise and valuable investment of my time?

You can defend this kitten as much as you want to blindly… but you cannot argue that fact. THEY PROMISED. THEY PROMISED us that this bullkitten wouldn’t be in the game… and ohhh look… there is it. Not even mentioning the bugged out events including skill events… that I lose out on XP every kitten day. That aside… this chops at my nerves. I AM THERE NOT AFK AND I GET SQUAT.

I was there actively attacking my hardest from 100 to 0… avoiding stuff and staying alive… DPSing as hard as a level 63 mesmer can… and I get rewarded nothing for it.

Good Game….. why should I sit here farming/participating for 50 others while getting no reward for it?

I am not AFK. I am there and working… I set an alarm to actually participate in the event too… that is twice now that I’ve participated and gotten nothing.

How is that FUN? HINT: it’s not fun. And yes: I’m angry. Why shouldn’t I be angry?

Apparently they are working on a fix for this. But yes, the game has its problem, dont give up on it jsut yet..

I’m sokitten right now. I spent a lot of my time today finding bugged world events… and to end my day with this… reallykitten me off. I waited up for the event for 3 hours because I JUST MISSED the one before and was really excited to do it… and was like "this is super cool… " when I saw the dragon. I didn’t know exactly where to be when it spawned so I was a tiny late to it… but it was still well over 60 near 65%.

I’ve come to 8 min timed “defend” events with 2 mins left in them and still recieved gold medals. To miss literally 1-1.5 mins of a massive world event boss and get zilch is unacceptable. The more I think about it, the more angry I get.

You preached “fun” to us, Anet. Do you seriously think that is fun?

So I came about 1min late to the party… and he was at about 65% life… I am a mesmer and level 58 now… was getting some solid 200-290 damage hits in + clone explosions…

Anyways bottom line: I participated and got absolutely nothing. Like nadda. How is this fair?

Now I am hearing that only 50 people get rewarded on this encounter. REALLY? So some classes who just innately damage more (even if I was there at 100% I likely still may not have gotten rewarded) are getting rewarded forkitten1 button damaging.

You know… as fun as some aspects of your game are you have some things that really need looked after and soon. It’s garbage like this that make people upset and not wanting to play your game… because really: whats the point?

I participated. I didn’t walk in and AFK. I damaged… and I resed people around me… I worked the encounter. And for what? So that 50 other people could get rewarded but me?

Your world events are all bugged… a lot of skill events are bugged… dungeons are not fun period… and PVP leveling takes a million years so if this is even a PVP game where is the encouragement to be in WvWvW to begin with?

Starting to really regret buying this game.

I find the game fairly grindy (others can choose to disagree – that’s fine) enough as it is… and XP is a chore already… but to stand around hoping for an event when it is announced only to continue to stand around watching a completely bugged out event? Not fun.

You guys need to review all events please. This is happening on a fairly regular basis that events are not working properly.

I picked the game up day 2 and so far, in my completely random game playing times, I have never once had any downtime. No maintenance. When I’ve wanted to play the game: I’ve been able to play it on 100% consistency.

I noticed and appreciated this from GW1… and I don’t think this item gets as much recognition as it deserves.

You are probably just about the pinnacle of what every other gaming company should be attempting to attain in terms of having the game up and running. You are probably THE BEST company for this item.

Props where they are due. <clap>

Holy Trinity Removal

I am on the fence about the removal of a healer from the game. I have personally experienced how terrible dungeons are… especially “explore” mode. Holy cow. The sheer volumes of spiders in AC (explore) that pour at you… and with everyone in light or medium armor it was just wipe after wipe.

If you want everyone to participate in terms of doing away with “tank” “healer” “DPS” then you really need to make the content more appropriate and attainable to everyone. Not making it…. easier per say… but like having it so that 5 of ANY class can accomplish things. (Even 5 of the SAME class for example.)

I think that the OP is on to something though because the PVP I’ve been involved in basically has a group attacking a keep/wall… and then both sides having casualties… then either you break the wall or those who die on the wall just come back and side attack the entire assault and wipe them or push them back… it feels really like “whoever controls the closest waypoint wins the fight” vs any kind of real talent or rhyme or reason to it all.

This is very true also of my first successful AC experience… after several failed wipe fests when we fought the “Romulo & Juliet” (snicker) encounter we were only successful because the waypoint was close enough to have a couple of people die, and then run back in to rejoin the fight.

Thanks for the tips guys…

So to clarify something though… “map completion” rewards a big chunk of xp? So if I was level 40 and went back to the 1st zone, I will still get ??? xp?

So you don't give me any quest hubs for my own level

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

and when I “downgrade” to lower level questing hubs out of sheer necessity, you reward me with next to no xp…. 1 bub of xp (CORRECTION: 60% of a bubble I rechecked) for 10-15 mins of my time for a quest hub within 10 levels of my level.

Level 40->43 has been BRUTAL right now. You have like 1 quest hub per level and I have finished them all and up to level 45 and am still level 42.

This is fun?

Game Improvement - Suggestions

FadeXF.5460

I would like to suggest the following:

→ Dungeon Finder: I understand that PVE is not the prime focus in this game however that being said it is increasingly annoying to have to stop whatever the group is doing to have someone run to the start of the instance and spam to get someone else… wipe again… have someone else leave group… rinse, repeat. This is not a fun experience. I don’t mind wiping. I don’t even mind wiping 3-4 times. I do mind the trek back and forth to get another player when someone leaves the group.

→ Leveling: I feel that nowadays 2-3 days played, or roughly 50 to 78 hours of play time is plenty of time to take from someone to reach max level. I appreciate that I am new to this game… however I am not brand new to the leveling experience. 41 levels in and probably about 50 to 70 hours invested I am already starting to burn out on just my first character. Part of the issue isn’t just the necessary time investment per level, but also the sporadically placed leveling hubs. I eat +xp food, use +xp tokens when I can, I have tried PVP, I focus on gathering when I see things, doing my class quests always until I am 2-4 levels below recommended completion… kill things from point A to point B, and ALWAYS hit up zone/group events whenever they are up.

What else is making the leveling experience feel more grindy than fun? As mentioned: sporadic quest hubs with only 1 hub per level per map (Level 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 up to 50… all 1 quest hub per level), events that bug out or cannot start them, events sometimes feel very similar in nature, quest hubs often feel very similar in nature, too much of the exact same activity repeated constantly… same skills/spells… even after weapon swapping to try to generate a different feel, it still isn’t enough.

→Dungeons: they are pretty difficult. I don’t know if this was intended or they just aren’t properly balanced or just everyone is so new to the game but explore modes are INSANELY hard with no proper healer. I think you guys need to look at the raw data and make your own decisions on this one. Maybe this will change when you do and see how many groups are succeeding or failing.

→ UI: I would love to see some modding allowed to adjust a lot of the settings. ESPECIALLY the auction house. For some reason it looks really terrible on my screen… all disjointed and ugly… the lettering is off for it. And filtering in there is <shiver> fantastic.

→ Macros: I would love to see some macro usage in the game.

That’s it for now. Don’t get me wrong here, guys… I think the game is very well polished and amazing. I do enjoy playing. I can’t wait to see where you take it!
