I really hope they pump the heal back up a bit on Power Return. As someone who ran Harmonious and Restorative Mantras, this skill feels nearly entirely gutted. Nerfing Mender’s Purity even further nerfed my usage of this heal.

We’re also just looking at completely lackluster mantras compared to what Firebrand is looking at.

Outnumbered is so ridiculously delicious. When I got my first outnumbered tick with even just bronze WvW rank (+1), I wondered why it didn’t always feel that good.

My Recommendation is to reduce outnumbered to doubling your current war score placement pips. As for the two pips removed from outnumbered, I would add additional Commitment levels for bronze and silver, totaling +3 possible.

As a fan of the Dreamer, please don’t change it. I couldn’t hear it from my friend using her newly crafted bow (not sure why), and I was really disappointed. As for Quip, I don’t often see it really so it doesn’t bother me either way.

If you ultimately decide to change them, can we please hear them before the change goes live and have a poll? I was really bummed when Kraitkin’s nightmode was removed, so I just ask that you take as much care as possible with changing legendary weapons.

I hate Unranked. (and here's why.)

If you are going to force everyone to queue Unranked, Move Skyhammer, Spirit Watch, and Courtyard to hotjoin only. These maps are for fun maps, and I am left without a competitive queue, putting me at a severe disadvantage when seasons actually start. I’m sure this isn’t the first post of this, and likely won’t be the last either, but please for the love of Mordremoth just let me queue ranked, whether there’s a season or not. Had we known ranked was ONLY going to be active during season play, I’m sure we would have raised our voices much earlier.

Shattering Blow: Increased area of initial projectile reflection zone by 100%. Increased radius of secondary reflection zone by 33%.
I hope this means you punch a bigger rock. awesome.
Flames of War would be cool if it ended in a short smoke field, giving warrior access to a short blind/stealth combo.

The Gravity Well change seems cool, but pullx3 > Blowout also sounded pretty cool.
Shield changes seem great, mesmer has too many single blocks already. Continuum Rift – This shatter still feels pretty weak in application, I feel like the rift’s existence is enough as a marker for where that mesmer will revert to, rather than being a source to force them out of it. I have a feeling it will significantly reduce it’s usability in PvP.

Critical Glitch Inc [CGI] Welcomes you to Guild Wars 2!

We are a Player vs. X guild, with primary presence in Gate of Madness (NA), as well as other servers. We run dungeons, and are happy to teach anyone willing to learn! We also have frequent casual and more competitive PvP groups. WvW is probably our blind spot, but we also run Guild Missions every Saturday, a Guild Lotto, host our own custom guild events such as Secret Santa Exchanges, Photo-Scavenger Hunts, and even Roleplaying Murder-Mystery Nights! We have our own dedicated TeamSpeak 3 server, where we encourage everyone to come together and bond over this great game. We are an uncensored guild, and we respect that not everyone curses, but we do (We do try to keep it respectful though). We do prefer it if you mainly represent our guild, though feel free to discuss your situation with us. If a relaxed, casual environment where you can be yourself, learn from players who have been around since the beginning, and laugh (a lot!), then CGI might just be the right guild for you!

What about spending your mantras during continuum split? Currently you do not get them back when you revert.
I think Gravity Well should attack at the end (maybe an explosive blast finisher?) instead of granting stability. Maybe have it deal more damage to CC’ed foes? It seems like more of an attack elite than a support elite.
Would also like to recommend again that the edges of your screen get a purple glow similar to shroud while shifted.

BWE1 Impressions

I don’t see a mega-thread yet so here’s my beta impressions.

Verdant Brink:
I think you already know the major issues here with bugged events.

I also worry for this map, as we push further into the story, I feel much of this will be too difficult to pull off alone, which, due to stalling events and people generally leaving the beta zone, I got to experience, and it was indeed difficult to do alone. Perhaps adding mercenary and or NPC commander mechanics from WvW to this map could aid with that difficulty scale.

Masteries:
Again I can’t really comment too well since events didn’t work. It wasn’t entirely difficult to grind exp, as long as I had boosters going, but it was rather annoying that there is no large exp mechanic like a dungeon, or event chains (again, I realize they weren’t working) to buffer the experience gain. I also tried many times to glide in open world, and even other games I was playing, thanks lol.

Adventures:
I only got to try the bugs in the branches event once, and without mushrooms, so I won’t comment there. The vine adventure is fun, but frustrating, so I hope the mastery points from tier 3 aren’t required to get everything unlocked.

Revenant:
I didn’t play much revenant this weekend, but I am already pretty happy with it.

Dragonhunter:
Wow. This was the first thing I made this weekend, and it was absolutely my favorite. The new virtues are fun, the traps (the two that I really used) were impactful, and longbow didn’t feel too slow to me (though I don’t play LB ranger). With the good does come bad though, Which is mainly this: many of the skills do not turn you (including the auto attack!) if you press them while standing still! Having to physically turn to shoot was really annoying.

Reaper:
Greatsword 5 still needs optimization, often times it wouldn’t cast towards my target when standing still, it’s really fast compared to the other skills, and yet it still missed 90% of the time. The rest of greatsword works pretty well. Shouts: They are pretty fun, though the heal could use a larger base heal I feel. Reaper’s shroud feels fantastic. This is probably the strongest elite spec so far, though like others I fear how required it might be.

Tempest:
Oh boy, this spec needs work. Everything feels slow to me. Warhorn skills are way too slow, Tidal Surge many times didn’t knock anything back because I was expecting it to move so much further. Overloading water feels completely useless, often all it did was lead me to my death. Earth and Water overloads also feel like they last half as long as fire or air, I expected moving on earth to feel really impactful, when in reality I couldn’t even pin down what exactly it did. The shouts also didn’t feel very strong. Rebound can be wasted on auto attacks which is just miserable.

Chronomancer:
Mesmer has been my main since headstart. My favorite class. Now that I’ve played around with it, here’s what I have to say. The balance between impact and cooldown is simply not there. Every time I used Continuum Split, I could barely tell when it would end. A clockwork HUD change (like revenant has) that pulses and clicks and really changes the feel (like shroud skills change the entire border of your screen) would really help solidify that you are shifted. A better warning to when you shift back would be nice too. Now for it’s balance, It’s a 90 second cooldown for a 6 second effect? One of the major issues is that with IP rolled in baseline, you can accidentally pop this skill and it goes on a 90 second cd for 3 seconds of use (hardly enough time to do anything). Please don’t mistake this for me not wanting IP baseline, that was one of the best changes to shatter mesmer since launch. I just think this effect should be longer, especially with the gigantic Achilles heel of the rift being destructible. Returning to the real timeline also does not restore charges of mantras, which seems like a bug. I would also consider possibly a trait to add quickness when you split the timelines, or whenever you shatter, to this spec. The wells you’ve provided have lots of great effects, and they work well, if not for their long cooldowns to short durations. Either up the damage, lower the cooldowns, or increase the durations (maybe 4-5 pulses? or at least a trait to do so). Shield: Love it.

Beta on the whole:
It was a great experience, one thing I would like is if you guys would add a “here’s what we’ve changed since you last saw” thread prior to the event.

Revenant Feedbacks [merged]

Here’s my issue so far.
Mace: There’s still an awkward pause between the 2 and 3.
Staff: This weapon feels entirely underwhelming. I probably need to play with it more. Skill 4 feels like a blast finisher.
Mallyx: It’s kinda hard to tell when you don’t have energy for skills. That’s really my only complaint here.
Ventari: Wow. For starters, summoning the tablet does not heal, which does not make up for the low healing of Revenent skills. I suggest swapping Ventari’s Will with Natural Harmony, and make the tablet summoned automatically on legend swap. This puts the heal where it belongs, making it easier to heal>swap>heal (if tablet auto-summons). Natural Harmony would make an excellent water field during the build-up, synchronizing with staff 4 being a blast finisher (if that were to change too).

That’s pretty much all I can comment on at the moment.

I like these overall, but here’s a suggestion for All’s Well that Ends Well: Remove/Convert all impeding conditions on end. Cripple, Slow, Chill, Immobilize, etc. Since wells already have long cooldowns, it’s rather poor to only remove one condition when you trait them.

Here we go!

Masteries: I would much rather have a window open up than hide half my screen. You often point out how much beauty there is in this game, let us see it. In it’s current form, you have to click on a specific icon to spend points, which was very difficult for me to figure out at a glance, clicking anywhere on the track should bring up the prompt. All in All I would design it more like the pvp track window, with a lock on each mastery that you click when it gets to that point to spend a mastery point to unlock it. Having to train the first mastery also feels really clunky.

The Wyvern: This fight was engaging as a melee player, as I played most of the test as a mace/axe revenant. There didn’t seem to be enough warning to me that he was about to fly, so I was often late with the chain. This fight also seemed fairly tailored to Jalis’ skills (stability, Taunt), so I wonder how it will do in the live game.

Adventure: I had some trouble with this, I often couldn’t tell if I had hit a vine or not, due to the death animation?

Revenant: I tried to play what I didn’t see much of in streams and videos before: Mace/Axe Mallyx focused play. I didn’t have much grasp of what Mallyx even did prior to this test, and there’s a good reason: Jalis was just better for this test. There weren’t many incoming conditions, and the ones we had available to ourselves (via utilities) were blind, vuln, weakness, and cripple, not the best for damage. Aside from this I had a lot of fun with the Mallyx channel, the leap (9) was fun to watch and felt most impactful of the utilities, the elite looks great, and hearing Mallyx talk to me was awesome.
As for Mace, the fire field felt good, but the other two skills I have issues with. Auto attack chain 3: I could not tell the difference between cleave and the chaining effect of this skill, it felt underwhelming to me. The triple blast looks great, but it seems to take some time to activate. On to Axe: The 4 skill feels AMAZING. The 5, on the other hand, seemed to be placed in the ground a lot, making it visually less impressive, it should probably just spawn at a fixed height.

That’s about all I have to say, thanks for the opportunity to play this class, I definitely hope to make offhand Axe a part of my Revenant’s repertoire.

The new anti-spam for the LFG is ludicrous, I join one party, can’t even get into the map, then I’m blocked from joining parties for ~10 minutes. Sometimes I click the join button, don’t even get added to the party, AND I’m blocked from joining for a few minutes. It’s entirely frustrating.

Proposal Overview:
Craftable assets from dungeons.
Goal:
Give players something else to do with dungeon tokens.
Functionality:
Have players use either Gifts or offerings of dungeons to create certain assets from that dungeon. EG: Baelfire’s throne from CoF, Nightmare sapling from TA, hologram projectors from CoE, etc. These can be placed in guild halls.
Associated Risks: seedy deals involving selling your tokens.

Recently I started playing another ranger, this time with a steam punk theme. Part of what is most fun for me about ranger though, is gathering pets. The only pet to be added since launch, though, is the reef drake. With the arrival of the Mini Twisted Watchwork Moa in the Origins of Madness update, it would be great to add the Twisted Watchwork Moa to the ranger repertoire. How would you obtain such a thing, you ask? By “Charming” a Watchwork Moa Blueprint in Scarlet’s Lair. This would make it always obtainable, as well as guarded by the veteran troll, and the general hidden location of her Lair. As the Watchwork horrors were partial to their confusing ability, a similar skill could be adapted for the Watchwork moa’s special ability. I would really like to see this, and more living world related pets in the future!

And before anyone says it, I know Rangers are natural and whatnot, I just really like the Watchwork Moa’s look and would love it for a pet.

The Zephyrites come though on their trade agreement and LA and help rebuild LA. Now we look down on the ruins of LA from our flying bamboo city, over the ruins of LA sunken in the bay.

Simple request really, as someone who enjoys the endless tonics (and likes condensing inventory space), it would be nice to be able to combine the warm, charged, cold, & hard potions into one single tonic, preferably with a fixed order like the quaggan tonic. The Potent Potion of Outlaw Slaying icon would be suitable for it (same shaped bottle but rainbow contents).

I couldn’t find any info (since searching forums is wonky), so I was wondering if now is the time that we need to un-equip all our PvP goodies to have the skins unlock on the 15th? I can see here that it’ll unlock all our pvp skins and remove them from the lockers, but does that mean everything we have needs to be in the lockers, or can I leave my characters in their current PvP armor to have them unlock?

I’ve heard that Wurm Demolitionist is bugged, if you were higher than 5 kegs when it was lowered. I don’t see this bug addressed in the forum (upon searching), so I decided to post since I’m stuck on 9/10. As you can see in the screenshot below, I am 9/10 with 10 achievements clearly complete. I’m sure this is effecting many others, too.

As far as the Sociopolitical Diversification goes, are we talking about revamping the current personal instance, or a whole new player housing? I really like where this is going as far as horizontal progression. (would love to unlock hammer on my Mesmer)

My biggest concern with the ascended tier is the recipes. If you want to make different statted items, you have to buy a new ascended inscription/insignia (not too bad, same as other exotics/rares), but you have to buy new recipes for each weapon/armor piece. I think this was an unnecessary step in the ascended item process.

Further, this punishes those with alts for having diverse builds, as someone with a zerker armored Mesmer need only reproduce armor for a zerker Necromancer and or Elementalist, where someone with diverse builds has to re-purchase every recipe.

It’s my opinion that crafting the final weapon/armor should be the same as exotics, through discovery, not recipes.

Regarding the Dev-posed questions:

1. This would be nice, currently, I have no idea if someone joins my squad. Also I don’t know if squads are kept when I change maps (if they don’t, they should).

2. I really like this idea, but how does it’s functionality translate to a PvE setting? How close do I have to be to start said event? who all can see my event?

3. No. Even small guilds can benefit from commanders for guild missions, and small guilds especially need visibility for things like rushes and challenges so people in the map can come participate.

Regarding WvW gating, maybe make WvW gating required to use your tag IN the WvW setting, but not other settings. Perhaps create a tab in the hero panel for commander progress to track these things.

CDI Topic: Rewards in PvP

My concerns are as follows:

1. I converted a lot of my living world skins to PvP, as well as some gem-store skin pieces, what will be happening there? Will I be refunded my once-per-game items? The lack of information regarding the locker in these changes frightens me.

2. I am not a hardcore sPvPer, but I do enjoy it and have ranked myself up to Dolyak. Do these changes mean that I have to actively PvP to obtain the same rewards through the ladder system that I have achieved through the rank system? This seems tied to being able to take skins between PvE and PvP, Which I am waiting to hear more about.

3. /rank emote. Please tell me we get to keep this..

4. select PvP skins can’t be obtained in PvE (Rubric, PvP Masquerade(tribal), many pieces of stalwart), will these skins be obtainable outside of PvP after these changes?

Collaborative Development: Commander System

- Colors. (yes, it’s been said)

- Buffs for being in a squad or near a commander. EX: When a commander completes an event (this works for WvW and PvE) ALL players either in the squad (increase squad size with this?) or near the commander gain buffs to: stats? movement? gold drops? magic find? (E&W)xp? for an hour or something. Maybe group events specifically for PvE, can’t remember if WvW events are group or not.

- Commander chat. A chat only open to be used those who have a commander tag active. Anyone with team chat visible would see commander chat. Bright color like Cyan, or have it vary by commander’s tag color.

- Let us see active events near a commander regardless of our distance from them(in the same map). In the sense that when we look at the map we will see the circle of the event and be able to hover over to see which event they are doing.

Honestly, if they removed all the trash in front of the first door, replaced the first 2 button room mobs with 3 re-spawning guards each, and just plain eliminated the bomb side, this fractal would be do-able.

Skin acquirement needs to stay hard

Unfortunately the change doesn’t apply to items that have already been acquired. Ultimately that’s what I wanted but there was a pretty severe technical limitation on this, so we thought it would be better to make the newly items work this way rather than postpone the conversion any longer.

Also, at higher Fractal levels the weapon skins become more common, and also start dropping in a container that lets you pick the one you want.

Any chance of a merchant to trade current weapons → fractal weapon chests like you did for infinite tools?

Punishment for players that realy care

If it’s for leaderboard reasons, shouldn’t people who care more about fractals BE higher on the leaderboard? I was on the AP leaderboard at the beginning because I cared about AP before there were leaderboards, should be the same for fractals.

Disappointing that I’m going to have to do fractals 10 more times to start working on the tonic, but hey I can live.

Agony changes

This is not how I understood it. It sounds to me like +1 Agony infusions will be obtained through fractals, and you craft them up to +5 (or higher?) infusions with artificer. The "Infused" part of ascended items is being transferred to it’s own slot, so no more automatic infusions at 26+ (Aka infuse your rings now on chars you want to take into high fractals) People who already have infused items are compensated with +5 infusions in the item already, which would be the same as it was before.

So what did Kormir do? She lead the Sunspears to slaughter, got captured, needed to be rescued then watched as we did all the work from that point on only to be conveniently handed the gift from the gods.

Critter Skitter!

Minis need some love, Home instances need some love, this idea gives them both a little love. Currently Home instances are populated by NPCs we traveled through our story with, a couple resource nodes, a skill point, and some drunken master of Om.

I propose a new NPC, the Critter Skitter Manager. Talking to this NPC would essentially take the data of every mini you have in collectables, and spawn them as friendly ambient type mobs in your home instance. Probably only one of each type, I don’t need 10 queen Jenna’s surrounding Logan..or do I?

This idea can be as simple as releasing all of them (I like this idea), to as complex as allowing us to let them out by rarity/category (set I, set II, special), to making certain minis attacking/grouping up with each other (Ellen Kiel laughing at First mate Horrik, for example, Destiny’s Edge grouping up together as another.) It would be awesome if we could visit friends’ home instances by right clicking in the Contacts window too. (even when they aren’t home)

This Idea doesn’t negate the possibility of minis used for polymock either, it’s just a way to make our home instances more personal.

TL;DR: New NPC in Home instance to toggle releasing all your minis from collections into your home instance.

PvP Fractal Weapons

Can we get an option to convert fractal weapons into PvP (before they are transmuted)? It would work like “set stats”. Right click the weapon, click convert to PvP weapon, open window asking if we are sure, click convert or cancel.

Fallen tree trunks (rich wood deposits)

Either you aren’t in the ascended weapon game, and or haven’t checked prices lately. There is a higher demand for wood because refining it requires more materials, and not a single weapon doesn’t use wood, at least for the inscription, and in artificing most weapons only use ore in the inscription.

Orichalcum Ingots are sitting at half the cost of ancient wood planks, this is not equal. Also, there’s usually more orichalcum nodes than there are ancient wood (that’s more total raw materials per map for ori, which refines into more ingots than wood). I’m not even bringing this up because of T6 materials, but of lower level mats. A run of Bloodtide coast usually yields me over 100 platinum ore, but only around 50 hard wood logs. That’s 50+ Platinum ingots and ~16 Hard wood planks.

We have rich ore veins, we have “gardens” of many food types, why not a fallen tree trunk as a rich source of wood?

Why I think Mordremoth is next!

I’ve started having an Idea that Scarlet, and maybe even the whole Sylvari race are minions of Mordremoth.

I’ve held this theory for ages now. I presume Ventari’s wish for peace was responded to by the pale tree seed and the Ventari’s Tablet “freed” the children of, and the pale tree herself from Mordremoth’s control, in a similar manner to Glint. The Nightmare Court believe that the tablet is a poison and that the sylvari are not living up to their full capabilities.

I don’t know if Mordremoth is next, but if he is, I hope they bring back the Harbinger, Malyck, too.

150 minions, 100 Trick-or-Treat bags, 150 pumpkins carved, and this year’s can be completed by dailies. The grind this year is in the materials, and the fact that the game has switched from exploration to zergsploration.
