As far as I know, you even if you have the gold, crafting all pieces cannot be done in a single day.

Nope, you can buy all the things needed for crafting in the TP.

All the base materials yeah, but I don’t think you can buy things like lumps of mithrillium, which you can only craft once per day. So no, you can’t craft it all in a day.

Hi all. My SO plays on an IMac (late 2012), fully updated, and can barely play guild wars on low graphic settings. At many random spots, a graphical glitch will occur that dissects the screen into gray triangles. We were hoping that the 64 bit mac client would fix this, but it hasn’t whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They could also just give firebrand, tempest and ventari their own special buffs. Maybe give firebrand a physical damage reduction buff, limit grace of the land to physical dps, give tempest condi dps buff, and give ventari some condi damage reduction buff.

I like this idea a lot. It goes back to pre release rhetoric about all classes feeling really powerful instead of just balanced.

I don’t understand what groups the op’s of these topics are getting into. I’ve tried to raid multiple times, failed all of them, and never had a toxic interaction. Makes me think either the op hasn’t actually tried raiding or is a big contributor to their own toxic encounters.

As much as I love being nearly invincible already, that would make shroud necros fairly op. Wouldn’t need to take your soul is mine, wouldn’t really need rise, or any other life force generator. Would ruin the point of any other life force generator.

Necros being the only class to not have a single block or evade outside of the 2 that every class have already balances that out. Besides, if you’ve ever been in teamfights you’d notice that lf is already easy to gen using staff and spectral armor which is why the meta build isn’t using the skills you’re talking about

I’m not talking about pvp, though. The only time I play pvp is when I have guild missions requiring it. In PvE, the staff is absolute trash for life force genning.

Fenris Amarok.4052

The build I use in… well every thing but pvp since I don’t play it, is trailblazer’s dhuumfire. I use spite, soul reaping, and reaper. Damage solely comes from burning, which, with max duration condi from trailblazer, balthazar runes and a smoldering sigil, hits consistent 6-7k dps. I run your soul is mine, rise, spectral armor, and spectral grasp, all but rise for life force generation. Take the traits that extend shroud pool and lower cool down, and you’ll never die. Usually, I’m only out of shroud for about five seconds before having a full bar again.

in pvp you’ll probably get about 2 hits in before they escape your range.

In higher levels, yeah, this will most likely be the case. I can still go toe-to-toe with ranked friends when it’s a duel, but yeah it’d be tough to catch them if they’re running away. You have enough control between greatsword and dagger/warhorn (weapons I run for LF-building) to pin down opponents in short fights, but longer ones would be tough.

Fenris Amarok.4052

Dhuumfire reaper is amazing. I run it with trailblazers and I’m just as tanky as a nomads guardian and can dish out over 5000 dps just from burning, without consumables. You can trait for constant 25 vulnerability if you’re on your own, as well as have a full stack of might for yourself within a few seconds. With the aoe swing of reapers 1,trash mobs die very quickly, and along with rise you’re extremely sustainable against bosses. It’s an amazing pve build. Hard to say in pvp since there’s no trailblazers but with carrion it still works alright. Run sigil of bursting and smoldering along with runes of balthazar, then whichever pizzas you fancy and the crystals (I think) for condition damage from %toughness. Might have those consumables mixed up.

Tldr. I completely prefer trailblazers Dhuumfire over bleeding/poison necro.

It’s sad that people are so close minded in this game. Bad direct damage weapon? It’s an awesome condi weapon. Reapers onslaught brouht dhuumfire back from the grave. Combined with trailblazers armor and you’ve got nice damage and a great tank with two health bars, a heal skill that’s up every 12 seconds, 33% further reduced damage with rise. People are way too obsessed with meta and what other people think of the classes to actually play different playstyles.

Guardian does make an awesome healer from my experience.

So far I’m using mace shield for defense and healing and then sword and focus for more damage. I’m using a few symbol traits since both weapons have it. Fury on the sword symbol will be very helpful and give some offensive support. I believe I have the blind on justice and justice on kill traits too, along with the critical chance on one hand weapons. Hope that helps!

This is the closest I can get to my build with the builder. I use trailblazer’s everything, with fire and condi duration consumables. Maintains around 9-10 stacks of burning, around 7000 dps, and is tankier than a nomad guardian. It’s not meta, but I’d say it’s just as effective and a hell of a lot more fun than sticking to what everyone says you should use.

Dhuumfire Build: What do you think

in Necromancer

Just as another take on the dhuumfire build, I use trailblazers armor and weapons, with a great sword (for funz) and dagger warhorn for lf generaton, along with augury of death, the heal shout and rise. These together give me a heal every 12 seconds that regens lf and cuts my damage received in half. Using Balthazar and smoldering/bursting, and pizza and utility consumables, I maintain around 7000 dps while being tankier than a nomad guardian. I personally don’t like the scepter as it requires you to stay out of shroud and generates lf so much slower than dagger warhorn and say, spectral armor.

It sounds like you want to do as little as possible while you’re playing. I wouldn’t mind an auto follow allies or friendly npcs, but enemies should be out of the question. GW2 is based around fast paced, fluid, proactive and reactive combat. Not push button to start chasing hitting things. GW1 had it because that was gw1’s combat style. It doesn’t match GW2.

Some of the other suggestions sound good. I’d really enjoy a salvage system like Diablo 3, where you’d salvage all of a particular rarity.

Back in “the good old days” conditions were useless. I don’t know what game you were playing, but no matter how much you wanted to use conditions anything besides blind and vulnerability, maybe weakness, were useless. No one used them and they were highly loomed down upon because the damage was pitiful compared to melee damage. If your problem is with wvw, there is a separate forum for that. But for the game in general, the updates to condition stacking were some of the best changes they made.

I couldn’t do that without didn’t stat combinations.

WHY; shield over sword offhand?! ....

Posted by: Fenris Amarok.4052

Fenris Amarok.4052

Well reality is completely different thing. I am in game however and i want to swing 2 swords at once. You dont have asura and charr in rl right?

Anet kittened up bc they made sword/sword etc as separate option. They could easily fix it by adding new “dualsword” kind of stuff. Thats generally why i prefer 2h weps (gs) over dualwield in gw. It just seems wrong to me that most of the time i do not use my second hand. Even in faction trailer you see Shiro using both swords at once..

To do that they would have to rework all sword auto attacks specifically for when you’re dual wielding swords/melee weapons. So that’s not an easy fix. Like someone else pointed out. According to history, it’s fairly accurate. Even having two full length swords is realistically implausible. If we’re going by anime logic, maybe, but that is NOT an easy fix.

Wow, that was one hell of a subjective opinion fogleg. I personally found the maps to be very well designed. The closest example you can come to bad design is tangled depths. Tangled. Depths. There’s a hint to what the map would be like, and it’s in the name. They told us they were giving us a jungle. In MY opinion, I think they delivered exactly that. I didn’t want just another flat central tyrian map.

Gates? Sorry you couldn’t explore everything in the first few hours of play. Sorry you had to put in a little work. And in no place whatsoever were you required to have a super high mastery rank, except in ley line gliding. Gliding. In currents of magic. It’s pretty kitten reasonable for this ONE thing to be high up.

Again, fun is highly subjective. I had a lot of fun, so did all my friends, and so did thousands upon thousands of players that don’t come on here to complain about something they didn’t design and had all the information they needed to make an informed purchase.

What do you mean you can’t gather materials? Cause you can’t take a hit in your berserker’s armor? If you want to talk about the sheer amount of flax needed for things, fine, but that’s not what you’re arguing.

Tl;dr FogLeg is the spokesperson for the guild wars 2 playerbase and whose opinion is the one, true way.

Here’s the big thing I don’t understand with all these complaining threads. Yes, you can use any class you want as long you have the necessary roles. And many classes can perform these roles. You are not limited to a rigid class composition, despite what everyone thinks. The only time you may need to wait for a tank or healer is if your pugging, which was not anets aim. Yes, if everyone is optimized you can do it, but in an actual group is possible with so much less. Anyone saying otherwise is objectively wrong.

Death shroud is far from needing to be fixed. The only reason so many people changed to reaper is because it’s role is damage dealing, up close. Comdi scepter, minion master tank, etc. Everyone is just so focused on damage dealing that they don’t pay attention to what else arena net had given us.

I’m assuming you mean melee. Depends on what kind of playstyle you’re looking for. Do you want supportive, offensive or defensive? A mixture of two of those is possible with pretty much any class, they all just do it differently. Warriors has a lot of offensive support for his team and deal a lot of damage too. Necromancer, especially reaper, can deal very heavy damage, or they can use a lot of life steal to help their team survive. Both these classes also have the possibility of dealing a lot of condition damage.

Tl;dr it really depends on what playstyle you’re looking for beyond just melee. More info can help give you an answer.

Your issue may be your trinkets, that is, your amulet, rings, earrings and backpack. Other than that, taking defensive traits that work with your gear is very important. I forget exactly what the warrior has so this is a fake example, but a percent of power being added to toughness does nothing if you have kittle power. Stuff like that. Other than that, learning to dodge, kite, interrupt and otherwise crowd control mobs is very important to your health. Warriors arent as tanky as their name implies, so movement and proactive damage avoidance is very important.

Also, you may want to consider taking runes and/or sigils that will benefit a defensive playstyle.

You don’t need ascended armor for the raid, typically it’s just required to have ascended weapons and trinkets, since those stats are weighed more I guess. You can play however you want. At least for condition, you don’t have to run full damage stats to maintain enough dps to do your job. I run trailblazer’s and do just fine. The problem with power is that pretty much all of your dps comes from grave digger, which you only use for the second half of the fight. So for half the fight your damage is significantly impaired.

How is Necro/Reaper for PVE now?

in Necromancer

Posted by: Fenris Amarok.4052

Reaper is godly. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trolling or needs to learn to play. I prefer condition damage. For my build, use spite, soul reaping and reaper. Take traits that apply vuln on shroud 1, in an area in shroud, close to death, dhuumfire, August of death and kitten d onslaught. Condition damage armor (I’m getting trailblazer today for condition duration and tankiness), runes of balthazar, sigil of bursting and smoldering. For weapons I use dagger/ warhorn for life force generation and a great sword, use great sword to go into shroud. Use any weapons you want, though.

This build (with carrion and truffle steaks) maintains 5200 burning per tic without any other buffs. Haven’t tried with trailblazer yet, but that should increase the number of burning stacks at any time, so even more damage.

Revenant is good at maintaining decent torment levels area wide, but their condi damage doesn’t get very high. It used to be based around inflicting tons of conditions on yourself and then spreading them to foes, but that was taken out without substituting the trait mechanics so mallyx is left feeling… Incomplete.
