So I know that a few dozen people are unhappy with my various amounts of “complaints” and “trolling”, and in all due honesty, I just want to say that I’m half and half with my posts. I’m a huge lover and fan of the engineer class, but when there is such an obvious ceiling to our skill based profession, playing it is somewhat boring in PvP and WvW after all of PvE has been done.
Why not start a NEW Class then FiftyTwoBears? You may ask me.
And believe me, I tried, I have, and I just can’t betray our wonderful little engineer.
So that is why, as an apology to my fellow engineers for all these troll posts, I propose that we prepare this thread to celebrate our much deserved bug fixes and buffs that will most likely be incoming this next update today.
(there IS an update today right?!)
Here in this thread, we will cheer and drink to our buffs when they arrive, and touch ourselves with one another in the most inappropriate of ways. We will thank ArenaNet for being so benevolent with us and hearing our cries of hope and despair from the past.

Okay guys, obviously if we get buffed or get some bug fixes, we’re happy this next update.
But I’m asking…what happens if we DON’T GET BUFFED? What if we get nerfed even more?
Let’s be honest here, what are we going to do about it? It’s obvious all our whining ain’t doin jack squat, so what we gonna do? Delete all our Engies? I for one don’t want to as my Engies my first 80 and my main.
But seriously…What are we gonna do? Gather up the remaining 80 Engineers in all of GW2 and march to ArenaNet headquarters and knock or what?
And yes I know guesting is being implemented, but it’s for people that have friends on other servers, and even then it might be like 3 people + 1 from another server in an entire zone.
this is more for people starting out or that don’t have friends on at the moment and just want to meet random people. I think this would be a great way to fix the problem of nobody running around in zones
I think a common complaint is that when leveling nowadays, there’s nobody around and it feels like you’re playing a single player game in the PvE aspect of the game.
I think the easiest and best way to solve this is to do a reverse Overflow server, when you enter a zone, you’re put into a Cross Server zone for the PvE area, so there will always be people running around.
This can actually potentially save alot of server space, considering a healthy chunk of ppl are always doing PvP and WvWvW. By having for example people from 10 servers all going into a single server’s zone automatically makes it more enjoyable by having people around!
Of course there should still be an option to choose whether to go to this reverse Overflow server or stay on your own.
This is it boys and gals, 28th is gonna be upon us soon, we’ll see if we get a buff or not after all our whining and groveling.
NOT that I have much hope as I didn’t hear Engineer’s mentioned at all during the livestream.
have they even MENTIONED anything about Engineers? All I hear is talk about Thieves, Mesmers, Eles, and Warriors
holy crap…the crap trinity is really getting crapped on, Maybe we should expand our Engineer Guild to include Rangers and Necromancers….
Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten used to being the underdog, but I’m kinda hoping ArenaNet actually gives us more nerfs. It’s kinda fun now at this point trying to figure my way across the bugs and issues of this class to make him viable and semi-competitive against other classes.

Oh god, yeah, i met this Heart Quest giver that gave you a Grenade Kit that was exactly like ours, but did better damage for some reason compared to the Engy Grenade Kit, what’s up with that?
if you want to be a tank, go look up the TankCat build in our forums. It’s meant for PvP, but it could easily be adjusted for PvE really.
But realistically dungeon running with Engineers is sort’ve hard at high level fractals, hence why you hear stories and reports of us being turned down from joining them. We just don’t bring as much to the table as other professions do right now.
But we’re glad you’re making the attempt.
If I could mix and match a Kit.
1. Wrench
2. Throw Mine
3. Personal Battering Ram
4. Gear Shield
5. Freeze Grenade
If we were allowed to design our own Kits?!
Think about it, if we were allowed to mix and match abilities into our own specialized Kits.
I mean sure there would be restrictions, but I feel like if this was the case, we could definitely have this so called versatility we were promised and add more depth to our class, and it would definitely allow each Engineer more wild and unique builds to try out.
Or if we were allowed to “concoct” our own elixirs of our design, so we can mix and match elixir boons, allowing us specialized Elixirs for our builds.
Or even better yet, let us combine Turrets for interesting but lesser effects.
Like combine the Thumper and Flame Turret, which does less dmg, but now shoots out rings of fire in an AoE format.
Or Combine a Rocket and Rifle Turret for more damage, but slower shooting rate? The combinations are fun to think about.
And of course, letting us pick our ToolBelt abilities without restrictions.
But seriously, I think this would add another level of awesome to our class, even with all the bugs.
Depends. Flamethrower Kit probably works well in just PvE conditions.
Support Wise Elixir Kit.
If we’re talking damage, you’re probably better off with Bomb or Grenade Kit for AoEs.
Static Discharge is fine too, but other classes can still hit harder then you even if you have full Exotics.
Regardless, there’s no “real” good end game build for us just cause we were designed with the intention of being a flexible class, so that’s something for you to find out.
It’s hard to say for engineers what is best for us end game in Dungeons really, cause we’re all over the board, and our Traits dont really match the stats in builds, so we’ll never be able to properly min-max our builds with stats, which is partially a huge reason our damage don’t match up well to other professions.
And of course, with so many bugged abilities and traits, our full potential is hard to attain in any setting.

Hahaha, so I got a message from the Forum Mods saying I was trolling on some of my posts. Anybody else get that here? Cause I’m not trolling at all. Not gonna mention the ones I got incited for cause I’ll probably get another infraction, but seriously, I play engineer and I can’t even joke? Not even trying to troll nobody here haha.
They can post w/e they want they don’t care, our concerns are unanswered tickets. I am not getting any sense of trolling here either, here’s a new reference.
This is a simple thread to vent and laugh since the engineer threads feels like a prison now all waiting for a engineer patch. lightening up the mood is no way trolling.
I get the distinct impression that the mods are unhappy with us for this little mini-revolt we’ve been having on the engineer forums. I won’t say why I think that since it might get me an infraction (the first rule of infraction club is “Don’t talk about infraction club” right?). But I have been noticing a lot of deleted posts. Some of them should have been deleted though.
I do have to admit we are trolling ANet quite a bit here (not that I don’t think they’ve earned it). I’ll make a new prediction for the next patch – no significant engineer changes. They’ll stop working on the engineer just because we have been so unruly. >:o(
Meh, to be honest, at this point, I would prefer them to not buff us anymore. I’m kinda hoping they nerf us more and more.
We’ll just keep doin out thang and just keep on rollin.
The more they nerf us, the more likely we’ll finally all band together into one Guild and unite under a common banner.

Sigils are removed to balance this.
I want a Mine Kit.
Make the auto attack the Toolbelt skill, where you can Stack about 10 layers of mines around you.
and other mines are like an Electrical Fence trap when people walk into them, or more blockbacks
possibly Boon removals, and stuns and junk. I think everything could be some kind of knockback or stuns, and it would be justified cause you literally need people to walk into them, so it’s not to overpowered really.
Haha well I think the fact that we have a sense of humor about our situation. Honestly this whole thread reminds me of when Wow first launched and everyone hated Paladins and Druids. They where meant to be the versatile classes in the game but they did everything subpar and where only brought along to raids for one or two skills.
