I was roaming with a guildie on DL borderland and 90% we were being chased by either GH or DL guilds, or groups of pugs from either servers.

when you finally find a fight every enemy and their mother adds in or a guild group runs you over.

I am sorry but the words roaming and gandara at this particular matchup sounds like a bad joke. During this week i had more chances to run into an omega golem walking to a zerg than a single roamer.
(somehow the idea of attacking a wooden keep/tower at 5.00 am with golems seems appealing to your server)

Accusing the other servers of blobing and saying they are loosing because they can’t hit 2 targets at once while the roaming guilds of Gandara can.
As for the other issue as i said it is silly to accuse a whole server for hacking when they said numerous times that they do not encourage or condone cheating.

WvW really is all about coverage. Nothing else seems to matter. Even the number of quality of guilds is fairly meaningless for the score overall.

Case and Point: Drakkar Lake, Gandara and Gunnar’s Hold were all roughly equal throughout the evening, yesterday. All servers had queues and kept each other at bay.

Log in the next morning and Gandara has overtaken everyone else by more than double the points.

It’s really disheartening to have coverage decide EVERYTHING in WvW. Might as well just skip WvW all together and just give the rewards to the most populated servers.

Totally agree, just give the rewards to whatever servers Anet wants and be done with it.
We can return to normal matches in peace afterwards.

I wouldn’t worry about it, the variance in PPT it’s minor, battle wise it shouldn’t be a big problem, Fix will come up soon, it’s annoying but yeah it’s Anet problem, we can’t do much more than this

I think it’s silly accusing a whole server for hacking but on the other hand if they are taking advantage of those hacks and cheats is a different story.
This is the 2nd week in a row where we have massive accusations of hacking.
Just don’t take advantage of it, dont capture that keep/tower tis simple.
I have to say that we are having a great season.
Gandara on one side, accusations of cheating on the other.
I get the feeling this will be a wonderfull season and Anet should be proud of what they have accomplished.

Well my hope is that the matches between Gunnars, FSP and Piken will be more interesting than the meh matchups we have atm.
It seems that RoF,FR and DL are having the best matchup atm.
Gandara have won since the day they announced free transfers so personally i am not bothering with ranking this season

If all this crying is because your losing the match up, then please think again as to what the reason’s are for this.

I assure you even without the free transfer’s Gandara would still be kicking your kitten , in fact I would have to say you would probably be worse off pt wise.
You have to understand the negative impact of such ques, the majority of our core skill & tactical prowess comes from our “original” crowd, of which simply cannot get through the ques.

However once the achievements have gone, and ques diminish you will see more of the old Gandara and then you will really wish you would have transferred!

So is it because of the transfer’s we be eligible for gold…? No its because we are just “good enough” to get there.

Don’t punish hard working, dedicated communities like we have in Gandara!, we will grow and grow and get stronger, because we want to!!

If season 2 have started 2 weeks ago, Gandara would have finished 4th-5th.
Anything else would have been a major upset.
I don’t mind if you will come 1st, or 2nd, if you will play at gold or grandmanster league
but pls put aside the “hard work” comments.
You don’t win by hard work, you win because you have more people, more time than your opponents.
Accept that and move on, no harm done.

I’m on Gandara since early acess and have been actively participating in WvW for almost year and a half. I don’t have a clue where we currently stand or what are our strenghts and weaknesses. Current matchup isn’t representitive because opposition is basically non-existant. On reset I saw first enemy player 2 hours after the reset started.

We haven’t been challenged at all in this matchup so we don’t know about quality of players who transfered since they haven’t been tested. Gandara could dominate and it could fail hard as queues could hurt us, it is all up in the air at the moment.

We are just talking and trying to predict some stuff.
You are correct that qs could prevent top guilds from aserver and that could be a factor.
However no match have ever won or lost during prime time.
Prime time sets the tone and it’s something to boast but it is offpeak that wins matches.
If 5% of all those new wvw players that gandara received will play during offpeak then
it will be no contest points wise and that is why almost everybody is picking Gandara to win silver league:)

I am 100% certain that Gandara will win but there is no chance for them to pass 300k each matchup.
Now that the transfers are over i can say, that if the league started 2 weeks earlier i would have bet money that Gunnars, FSP and Aurora would be the top 3.
Now is different and i think that after Gandara it will be FSP, Piken and Gunnars Hold.
Abbadons mouth has an american guild EP since last weekend and i am surprised nobody mentioned them:)
Aurora will be right there with Abbadons and Drakkar except if their huge pve crowd come out to play.
There are still some top class guilds there.
Fort ranik i didn’t have the chance to play against them recently and given the RoFs huge increase at wvw population (transfers) it will be a batle for those spots.

I can assure you that most guild would have transfered off AG even if there werent any free transfers. There was some community drama and reasons I wont mention here.

Not really sure why AG guilds bandwagon’d to Gandara because now they are going to be messed up by league queues, (I hear they are really stacked at the moment and it’s not even leagues!) meanwhile the guilds that stay on AG are going to have an easier time getting into the zone which is something you need for the next few weeks.

It was 2 (TWO) guilds from AG who transfered to Gandara. And from what I know DAWN also decided to go to Gandara before free transfers were announced.

Ah some people informed at what happened at aurora glade mate and as i said TuP and Dawn are well respected guilds among all of us who have faced you so i am in no way judging you from going to gandara.
However i do think that the way anet handled transfers is totally wrong.
Gandara was allready a strong server with good guilds and a very high population.
The decision to give that server free transfers 10 days before the league is completely wrong.
Tup and Dawn have proved that they are not bandwagon guilds and they do not go to a server just for the chance to win the league.

I don’t understand why people started leaving since the server seemed pretty strong and was one of the contenders for winning silver league. But i haven’t been paying attention to any server politics or anything for a long time now so maybe i missed something.

Anyway i hope AG can hold on to the bottom half of silver, because you’re an awesome server to play against.

It will be an interesting season in silver this time. With no server being a clear favourite, 4 servers seem to have a change at winning, Piken, Gunnars, FSP and gandara.
Drakkar, AM and AG are probably gonna come short but will still put up a fight.
FR and RoF seem to be far behind the rest if the ratings are any indication, but with the new season system i’m sure they can have their fun aswell since they won’t be playing against the top silver servers that often.

I am sorry but i disagree.
Gandara is the clear favourites and anything else will be a huge surprise.
After comes FSP who got 4-5 guilds and has also american guilds.
Normally Piken and Gunnars will be 3rd or 4th and that is fine by me.
Gunnars is currently the same server as 1-2 months ago as we didn’t get any influx of new guilds.
I sincerely hope that Gandara(i am not sure why Anet though it would be a great idea to give a strong silver league server free transfers) will endure this.

As i have said at another thread WvW needs Gandara and Aurora to be strong as they were stable and fun servers to play against.
Hopefully season 2 without Desolations huge offpeak will be better than season 1.
Lets wait and see what happens:)

FSP is the only silver league server that has Americans and they recently got 2 huge guilds from Piken.
Gandara got like 10? guilds that means 200 more players more or less.
Even if they are prime time guilds that doesn’t mean that those players won’t be active during offpeak
I think Gandara or FSP will fight for top spot and Piken and us will be 3rd or 4th.

I’m most upset about Aurora Glade though =( Was one of the most stable and consistent servers for a very, very long time. Why couldn’t it have been Gunnar’s Hold…. >.>

I am playing at Gunnars Hold but for me it is good for wvw to have servers like Gandara and Aurora strong.

We are not going to lose our sleep during the final day because our opponents are threatening to grab the silver dolyak from within our hands.
We won’t get mad at any individual or guild group that is not helping to cap that camp 10 seconds before the tick.
We are not a dream wvw server that everything works like a well oiled machine.
We do not seek to dethrone Vizunah or Seafarers Rest.
We will not come to the forums after a victory and mock our opponents or disrespect them (for current and future forum warriors that is)

Now that we make it clear, all we are asking is to respect us and try to inform us before you press that transfer button.
We do not own the server so we cannot tell anyone to not come but pls have in mind that there is allready an established community here and i am asking to have a chat with us if your intention is to join Gunnars

Indeed that thread was hillarious but imo the Fort ranik-FSP-UW at first week of the league wins hands down.
One server flaming the other for nightcapping and then celebrating and chest pumping for nightcap them back.
Also since you are doing a research you might want to search some old Gunnars vs RoS threads, though it may be the case that half of the posts was deleted.

This matchup as the previous weeks one feels kinda weird with all those holidays.
However it was more enjoyable than i thought when i saw that we have to face Aurora and Jade Sea.
I do believe that Jade Sea is in slack mode after season one and i think you will soon return to your previous strength.
Always fun to play against Aurora and i am sure we will have the chance for many more matches in the future.

you popped in with your 50 man zerg 3 times to wipe a waypoint every time out of nowhere with a bunch of superior rams and left the map when we came over to defend / recap.. then you waited till all of our borderland was red again to pop in 30 minutes later and wipe another waypoint out of nowhere. each time we came over to give you a fight you were gone from the map before we had even rallied our troops. so yeah nice pvd.. but only that. not like we could have put up a big fight anyways, we were like 20-30 at best… but you are not telling the truth here… or it wasnt you making the decisions anyways and your hopes were just that.

It was great to fight Augury Rock and personally i had a lot of fun this week.
I hope some servers lower (rank) than you to take notes of how a good server should play.
This match had everything, good roaming, good guilds good fights, can’t ask for more
Augury Rock,Kodash and Aurora are my personal favourite matchups.

This matchup is like a breath of fresh air for me.
Good guilds to fight, nice roaming and good attitude from all servers both ingame and at the forums.
Let’s keep it like this Baruch and Augury:)

Tbh was really happy to see EXG running as a guild. Nice fights just now inside our Home bay, flanked twice the Gunnars blob although you capped it almost. Sorry about that..but..NUKE..really ? Ressing upleveled mesmer through water gate, porting in with blob..then the same mesmer dies at the same spot …people came to ress him again, until our group flanked ressers as well..one NUKE and one IRON. Since you are using the word blob way too often to describe enemy servers, i suggest to look just for once behind your shoulder.

My first post in this threads match up so far, and have not had much time to play since reset RL stuff, and usually I love a bit of forum banter. However, this you blob! they blob! we don’t blob! bullkitten is starting to get boring now.

1. Some servers intentionally blob, deal with it.

2. Some situations may cause smaller groups/guilds to join together (giving ideal timings for forum warriors to take a screeny), deal with it

3. Some situations may look as though 2 servers have formed an alliance, when infact they are using the tactics to take an advantage of another server who is pre-occupied with the 3rd party opponent, deal with it

4. Guilds who have raid leaders/majority of thier player base offline or in queues, may tag along with other guilds/pug zerg, deal with it

Didn’t think we being seeing Deso so soon in a MU, but glad to see em again and look forward to fighting in the week.

As for GH always a pleasure to face u and looking forward to some nice fights

Well structured post and in general i agree with most things.
However if you search the start of the thread you will notice that the drama didn’t start from Gunnars players not that it is so much important as this matchup thread has gone really low so soon.
