New expansion coming and still no polearms?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

It would have been ideal to finally get polearms introduced as a weapon type with a new set of masteries. Especially since we have a fair ammount of skins to them that is mostly just collecting dust now that anet is not as pro water combat as they used too.

They could have, but is there a need to do so? I don’t see how they’re “left in the dirt.” Is there something special about level 500?

By keeping the new cooking recipes and feasts at 400, they allowed players to only have one barrier between them and crafting the item (i.e. getting the recipe). Players don’t have to spend time/resources on leveling up their chef.

Not really, it’s just annoying to see that only 2 professions are locked at 400. And the requirement for 400-500 could just be 400 recipies that wouldn’t drop to green.

They could have tied the newer and best version of recipies as well as added various feasts to the 400-500 branch of cooking.

While 500 jewelery would have been just an extra method of aquiring the ascended trinkets/rings/amulets through gathered materials.

GrizzlyTank.3145

I’d rather not. The whole point of keeping the RP experience intact and the world immersive is when classes look legit like those classes, not when everything is an asura with an afro in sunglasses and a halloween outfit swinging a hammmer around.

The outfits in this game make this argument moot.

GrizzlyTank.3145

As needs must be mentioned each time this comes up — it’s not the clipping, which is merely an aesthetics concern. It’s the underlying rigs that simply will not work together. Original game design had a somewhat different philosophy from what we would like to have today, and it’s baked into the code. There would be serious graphics issues if two different weights were equipped at the same time.

If i recall correctly the seam issue only seemed to occur on some armor combinations (Resulting in to say a huge hole in your chracater).
Ofc they could be bothered to actually fix those armors…

GrizzlyTank.3145

And yet before megaservers some events were completely impossible to even do, due to lack of people.

I for one prefer to have badly scaling events to impossible events. But that might only be me.

This was not an issue on all servers. If megaserver was better implemented they would have restricted the server “merges” to only the servers and maps that had an issue with low population.

Leaving functional servers communeties unharmed, as well as keeping the megaserver system away from Cities, teq, TT Worms and future grand world bosses on medium-full population servers.

And then you come across an area with junk assets and terrible terrain and complain that the game is unfinished and choppy

When it was never supposed to be revealed in the first place…

If you’re going to complain about something, it shouldn’t be about this.

I don’t think op is asking that we have more opportunities to glitch the map; anytime an invisible wall is used to limit the player rather than a visible barrier, it breaks the immersion a bit.

Glitching the map is a bonus, but ye it is incredibly immersion breaking and down right frustrating when you can see a clear area to move through yet you are knocked down by nothing

Just why does it always have to be the god kitten invisible walls. Heck the walls used now cant be detected by an ground target attack as the earlier ones does.

This new zone practically begs EXPLORE ME due to the platforming mechanics but in turn we are instead put on rails and toured through some very specific areas.

“Your not meant to see that” , “that isn’t ready yet”
We don’t care…
What we want to do is explore the place, even the parts that are only meant as foundation. Why? because of curiosity, entertainment and the fun of setting your own challenges.

“You could exploit that”
Ok i get why it gets patched up when there is an obvious exploit going on, but then at least ad a rock or a tree blocking the place not a bloody invisible wall that will murder the unsuspecting player.

Invisible walls are never the answer and only reeks laziness and ends up leaving a bitter taste.

[Suggestion] Armor/Outfit gender option.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

GrizzlyTank.3145

Being someone who primarily plays female charr and asura I’m often put into male clothing or unisex as it would technically be for them. Yet I’m are put into the female version of outfits.

So why not give players the option to chose the gender version of our equipment?

The fact that charr and asura is able to use both the famale and male equivalent of the different armors and outfits proves that it shouldn’t be too problematic to do with the other 3 races.

It would surely produce a fair amount of interesting, hilarious and epic armor combinations.

Cook's Outfit as light armor!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

GrizzlyTank.3145

Why am i asking for this?

Because the cooks outfit seems to be one of the few armors in game that actually is cultural. Heck even the hood on the charr version is one of the best looking charr helmets in the game.

And it is a pity to see such good looking armor sets go to waste because you cant really use them outside of a minigame.

  2. players get to play through the wast majority of the game world before they encounter the endless grind.

Home players shoulds always have reserved spots and guesters kicked to overflow to make room.

The issue is not guests the issue is that a small disconnected caused by the server can screw up a 1hour-30 min wait time. Which is why i suggest that people that are all ready on the map receive a short reserved spot on that map in case they lose connection.

I understand, but when you reconnect—a guest should be sent to overflow to allow you to resume.

Kicking a guest from the map wouldn’t be the right thing to do since that guest could very much be someones friend who still have not purchased a server transfer yet.

Nah, Scarlet won’t be a redeemed hero. Rox is all over the chance to join the Stone warband, and Rytlock in this update just said “kill Scarlet, I don’t care how, but kill her and you’re in the Stone warband.”

So yeah, either Scarlet dies… or Rox does.

“Ït’s a charr thing”.

The warbands a usually picked allready when charr are small which means that they are becoming more used to each other and better bonded. So far the only bond between Rox and the Stone warband is Rythlock whom also has his “2nd” warband the destiny edge.

Rox will inevitably see that she is sort of in a new warband with Braham and the rest.

This is incredibly annoying, especially when the disconnection was obviously server side.

Therefore i think it would be appropriate of the game to reserve a spot on that map for a mere 30 seconds – 1 min which should be enough for unfortunate player to reenter without being put in another area than where the rest of your friends or guild is in.

Tier 2 cultural weapon Suggestion.

in Asura

GrizzlyTank.3145

So far the Asura have had to share their Cultural Tier 2 weapons with the Sylvari, which mean’s that our T2 isn’t really that cultural to us.

Meanwhile we also got one weapon sets for each Asuran college and faction.
Tier 1: Glyphic which fits the college of Dynamics.
Tier 3: Peacemaker’s which fits the college of Statics.
Sorrow’s Furnace: Dark Asuran which fits the Inquest.

But nothing for the college of synergetics.

Therefore i suggest that the current Tier 2 weapons for asura are replaced with something by Asuran design with a green glow, since green is the color of the college of synergetics.

Edit: It have also come to my attention that the Sylvari have stolen our Tier 1 weapon designs.
