Okay, I think I see what the real point of this thread was. You are mad that legendaries can be bought and sold on the trading post.

Diablo III was heavily marked by tp use. Anyway, Do you even realize what you’re saying? 15k ap? 300% magic find? Killing 100K people in WwW give you like 20 ap. Your suggestion is far over the top, you probably have no experience with game balancing at all, wich is fine, but you also lack logic. 15k ap is more than what i got in 3K hours of intense playing. Having those silly loots for a grind quest is just a big no.

2. 10k or 15k ap would be fine, because you have to play the whole game and get a legendary by your own. I played since release and didn’t get a pre. In this scenario you can not buy anything. It would take years to get all materials alone.

It’s not that easy. You are confronted with it every time you play.

Diablo 3 managed it successfully to get rid of this ****, but it’s different here. There is no way back.

The suggestion is an acceptable, connectable solution which doesn’t hurt anyone. (especially not the TP-flippers)The rewards I suggested doesn’t have to be exactly like that, the world itself could be a bit more difficult and the droprate could need a change, too. I imagine it a bit more like Dark Souls 2.

1. You have to create a Hardcore Character

Hardcore Characters:

a) Can not trade! They have no access to the Trading Post! All items are soulbound!
b) Have no access to the normal bank. So they get a new empty one.

2. You have to do the following to get the title:

a) You have to reach the rate of 500 in one crafting discipline.
b) You have to get/craft a Legendary.
c) World completition 100%
d) All jumping puzzles
e) Complete your personal story

For me (!) the endgame problem would be solved very simple:

1. Make all items accountbound

2. Every month you can craft/exchange special items for new traits/skins and unique other items (like bufffood with one month duration or parts of ascended gear)

3. Some special items can be grinded in certain: maps, quests, activities, events

4. For me (!), all problems would be solved forever

Since the PvP-update you have to pay a fee for your traits.

28 gold per character + 160 skill points! (New traits not included!)

1. This is not beginner friendly!

(It’s a bit funny and sad when you think of it. First they added an instant lvl 20 item so people have not so a difficult time while lvling and now they did exactly the opposite)

The economy in this game fails. Not because the economy itself fails, it fails because the economy has no symbiotic relationship to the possibilities of the playerbase.

Or how can you explain that some people can get 100 legendaries and the most not even one? The system how it is at the moment does NOT fit to the game. The normal way of farming is not competitive with the TP.

People who say they’ve “quit” but keep posting are the most hilarious ones.
If Hotjoin 2.0 is too hard to deal with for you why not soloque for team arena?
How about Just play hotjoin1.0?

I don’t think it’s hilarious. Guild Wars 2 has probably the best traitsystem of all games and people love the game for it. On the other hand, Guild Wars 2 has probably the worst gamemodesystem and the worst updates.

All patches are 100% PvE-based, no matter if the patch is for PvE, PvP or WvW. There is no real content and this is just silly.

All in all no wonder for me that people don’t want to leave the game. They are sad because nothing happens over and over again. So they post here. It’s annoying and boring for me too and that’s the reason why I reduced playing the game drastically compared to the first year.

Posts like this don’t help much in my opinion. What you need to explain is that other classes can run away or stall longer for help than a necro can. Otherwise no class should win an outnumbered fight, I mean, what other result would you expect?

I know I didn’t use a specific argument. But you know what? We already know everything about this issue.

No mobility, no stability, not enough viable sustain and so on. The point is people still don’t pay enough attention to it.

Spectate mode is NOT the problem. I think people who starts in a team from the beginning should NEVER get switched.

Consequently the chances for noobs to join the winning team would decrease significantly, because only members of the loosing team leave.

Edit: Moreover, it shouldn’t take too much efford for the developers to implement it.

SoloQ and Hotjoin

These two gametypes have never been so bad before.

Hotjoin = waiting for a spot in winner team
SoloQ = incredible imbalanced matchmaking and flaming if your team looses

It’s really no fun anymore for a player who is not aiming for a perfect team.

If you win or loose means way too much for people here. They don’t want to win for the win, they want to win for the reward and that’s the problem.

1. In general, I’m glad someone gives us finally at least a little response to our issues and thoughts. I think, I can speak for the community when I say: Thank you!

It has come to the point that as WvW has not received real updates since launch that we ourselves would not mind doing the testing.

I can appreciate that many people don’t like EotM, but don’t conflate a lack of updates that you personally like with a lack of updates. WvW has added a great deal of content and rewards over just the last calendar year.

Hopefully you will find more you like in future updates and we’ll continue to add to the game.

2. EotM is a pure PvE-based map. Of course, people from WvW don’t like it. You run your rounds and in most cases you don’t need a strategy or skills or good equip to achieve something. Moreover, it has stolen the resources for the real WvW-content.

I mean it’s not a bad map at all, but it’s just not true when someone says: “this is wvw”

I’ve stopped taking condi cleanse on my Mesmer because the only engineers I see now use turrets, necros are really rare at the moment and the few I meet do use power builds.

At first, Guild Wars 2 is an amazing game! In my opinion, it made the first step to the next generation mmorpg. All other games have to mess with it, because of its PvE, PvP and WvW. All parts are clever designed and you can play hours, weeks, years(?) without beeing bored.
But if you look closely to the system itself you will notice their is much more unused potential. So here is my question: how could MMORPG 2.0 (Guild Wars 3 :>) look like?

What do you wish for it?

Here are my ideas:
Okay, I’m a bit the romantic type, so please don’t judge me (much) for my silly ideas

Step 1: Individuality

I think all characters are way too similar in their development. This is no problem because of the classes (classes are fine already), but of the possible jobs and additional PvE skills. We already have special race skills, but this is not enough. MMORPG 2.0 should have 20 or more different jobs like tracker, fisher, cook, smith, spy, gunsmith, breeder, florist, armor/weapon designer and many many more. And you should be able to specialize each job. To top this, each account should only be able to learn one job. Furthermore, you can only farm the items you need for your job and if you level your job, you level yourself.

Okay at this point you probably think: this sucks. But here comes the good part Each job has no levellimit. So for example, if you are the best cook in the world, you are so strong than the strongest warrior (because of the statboost). Now you could say, but what if you just sell the food to the warrior? No problem, if you are the best cook, you can sell the food for much money and buy the armor you need to get the same level again.

Step 2: Better movement

Dark Souls 2 showed it to us. Movement is fun
That’s all. I want it

Step 3: Better leveldesign
The dungeonsystem in Guild Wars 2 is not bad but it could be much better. Here is my imagination:

One 2.0 map = four old maps
40 % normal enemys with easy leveldesign (most events here)
30% difficult enemys with difficult leveldesign (you should be in a party)
30% hardcore, unique leveldesign (party have to work hard )

All areas have a chance for unique events with unique rewards (especially crafting materials). Some jobs can sense better than others when and where the events will start. The easy area has the most of normal world bosses.

Step 4: Senses

Some jobs can sense weaknesses, can hear conversations between people (even when they whisper) and feel incomming bosses and events. And the most interesting part, some can see where your last enemy hit you. So if you hit wounds you get more critical damage than if you hit random places. If your thief chose a sense job, he can achieve perfect damage. (Of course, like I said in step 1, if you play like this, you have to work harder, because he can only do damage, nothing else) Your senses and your range get better if you skill them.

Step 5: Character conditions

If you die or enemys infect you, you can get illnesses or weaknesses. Moreover, food and sleep are necessary. You get some sleep, if you log out. You sleep better if you have a good place to rest. You can sleep in taverns, camps and if you help some npcs. Most of all character conditions won’t effect you much, but if you want the best results for damage and especially for your job, you have to handle with them.

Step 6: Cruality = Reward? Or maybe your own end?

You can kill other players in the hardcore zones. You have to decide it in the menu that you want to be able to attack them. If you are able to kill one, you will get all his equip he wears. You are signed as a murder for some weeks. Moreover you loose 50% of your characterstats and your own equip is destroyed forever. Don’t forget, there is no levellimit, so if you work hard, you can get back your old strength.

It’s a joke people still think necros are op. They are not even close viable anymore. If they trait power, they have NO defense. You just need to survive their “burst” and you automatically win.

Moreover, necros can’t stand teamfights, they can’t escape, they can’t do much (condition-)damage (because of all the nerfs they got), they just can die. At the beginning, I didn’t want to believe it, but it’s true. If you have one or more necros in your team, you loose.

Ya, it is mostly silly because you can’t generate any reasons to counter my point. That’s how life works. The TP works the same because TP players take advantage of over 200k + players to make their money.

Yes, I agree with you. Most of the people can’t or just don’t use the advantages of the TP. You can get rich, right. You can stay poor, right. But this argument is still missing the point.

Edit: I can really understand both sides. I know about the advantages of the TP. But I don’t like the idea that you are forced to use it to be able to achieve something. Other games have much better solutions and this is why people still debate here.

Thought I’d post what my build does and how it works in tpvp. Its just a simple tpvp match with guildies.

don’t see how thats relevant, you played against bad players and didnt get focused even once and it’s already established that necro does well in that situations.

Agreed. Not even one enemy attacked you and they didn’t act like a team. I mean it’s nice you were able to farm some noobs but this is not relevant to the actual issue.

The point is NOT that people have no fun anymore while playing Guild Wars 2 or the Economy Simulator which is called Trading Post. The point is that the Game itself doesn’t satisfy. This is a difference.

Diablo 3, Skyrim, Dark Souls 2 and so on. In these games you can only achieve something if you play the game. And when you reach your aim, it is absolutely satisfying. In Guild Wars 2 it’s different.

Because of the Economy Simulator, the game has huge imbalances with loot. If you spend houndreds of hours, it doesn’t mean you achieve anything. You need luck to get gold or you play tp (“doing nothing”). An example for the imbalance: 10800 silk scrap (36 bolt of damask x 300 silk scrap/bolt of silk) for an ascended light armor set. To say it again, it is ONE example.

I want to go back to my first post. Does the Trading Post destroy Guild Wars 2? Yes, because the actual game is completely deformed by the Trading Post. Do people have fun with these influences? The barons and economists for sure. Other people? I wouldn’t bet on it.

I still have fun with PvP/WvW/PvE, but I’m defenitely not happy with this situation. It’s kind of grueling to see how the tp makes the loot you got from the real game to trash.

Without the Economy Simulator and consequently the loot imbalance, Guild Wars 2 would be still the best game since release. (And instead of fixing Trading Post issues, Anet could have fixed all the bugs already)

It is absolutely true that the tp destroys GW2. Unfortunatelly many people realized that “doing nothing = earning money” is the easiest way to get all they want. This means the “barons” won’t give a change a chance. You can read such reactions right here.

On the other side sooner or later GW2 will loose more and more player. Diablo 3 was nearly dead, because noone played the game anymore. Now, D3 has become to a great game again and it’s fun to play it. You have to play to achieve something there and you feel it.

Of course, we can still have fun here too, but it’s not the same. You have to decide either “earning money” or “having fun” and as a player, you feel fooled by the game itself.

You sir, need to learn from the underdog pros.

Conditionmasters are much stronger in WvW than PvP, because they got less nerfs (especially duration and stacks). Moreover duelling in WvW means nothing, because many player have no expierences in PvP and additionally they use WvWtraits.

You should simply go in PvP and test some necromancerbuilds. You will see you die a lot, because expierenced player always focusses Necromancer. They just know you can’t escape, you can’t survive, you are just a victim. It doesn’t matter which build you play, it’s always the same.

My opinion: Deathshrout should compensate the lack of mobility and stability, but it doesn’t. If you use it, you are even weaker and attract people to attack you. If you play glascanon your deathshrout has not enough lifeforce to protect you. If you play bunker, your deathshrout is fine, but you are not able to defeat a player (or stomp them!!).

Since the other classes got buffed and necromancer got nerfed over and over again, this class is broken.

We already had that a while back. You know hat this system encourages even more? Standing with the whole team on the point to cap it… No thank you!

The maximum is 500 Rank Points per game. Sorry, but you didn’t think a second about this suggestion.

Let’s say you win the game, so you can get:

200 Time Points
100 Win Points
200 Score Points
= 500 Rank Points MAX

You loses the game, so you can get:

200 Time Points
000 Win Points
300 Score Points
= 500 Rank Points MAX

People have no advantage if they try to farm points, because you can get the same amount of points in every other random game.

The system how it works at the moment isn’t that great too, because noone wants to be in the losing team. Do you want to get switched and get 200 points instead of 525?

Here is my suggestion:

If you play from the beginning until the end of the game you get 200 Rank Points.
If you play less than the duration of the game you get less.

If your team wins you get 100 Rank Points.

You get Rank Points for Score Points.

The maximum is 500 Rank Points per game.

Advantage of this system: People have no reasons to switch teams anymore.

It depends on how many zerg fights are in your tier. I know some of my guilies get round 100 heavy loot bags a night with blue/greens. If you are just roaming it is not very profitable.

An enemy commander yesterday morning kindly got his 40+ zerg wiped by four arrow carts at Quentin Lake. So many loot bags…

How many gold was it? 50-75s? People always say: so many lootbags… but in reality you earn nearly nothing. You have to search for zergs and your zerg has to be strong enough to beat them. Even if you have these conditions your enemy has defenitely no fun while whiping, so they will avoid you or their zerg will shrink.

No offense, but the lootsystem (how it is at the moment) is just terrible, even with so many lootbags.

At first, I’m not talking about eotm, because that’s PvE.

The lootsystem in WvW is extremely bad.
People say: If you want gold, go PvE.

The problem is, I play GW2 because of its WvW. I don’t want do PvE and this is the reason why I still wasn’t able to get an ascended set. It has been my aim for 6 months and it feels like I’ll need another 6 months. Frustrating!

However, to go back to the topic, I think it’s time for an improvement for the lootsystem. In the past (long long time ago) they improved it once, but in the meantime they improved the loot of PvE extremely too. That’s the reason for this hunge imbalance.

It doesn’t have to be more exotics, just something.

An other idea would be to give us special, timed skins, which can only be obtainable for badges. So people could sell them for gold in the Trading Post.

What do you think?

We have to wait too long for content, bugfixes and balancing!! (The most important point by the way)

Most of the stuff we get is not well thought out (especially the PvE content in WvW).
The rewardsystem of WvW is a mess too. (Have you ever tried to get 100g just in WvW? You need weeks without good PvDtrains)

When GW2 was released, WvW was amazing. I don’t know how many people and guilds quit, but WvW seems for me more and more like a ghost town.

These are things that necro lacks. and while I know they said they are refusing to give necro mobility (which is something I’m fine with btw) they give nothing in return for survivability (which really should translate to sustainability for necros). And yes Im talking about wvw, but even in pvp, we’ve had our damage shaved significantly, but they’ve also hacked up our defenses and not given much sustain in return. It’s like they want every class to be able to counter necros yet necros counter to none. It’s not balance with necros, because to have balance you need to bring one thing up and lower another to achieve equilibrium. In this case, they wanted to lower our damage. I’m fine with that, it needed to be done, but in doing so they also lowered our sustain.

That’s not balance, That’s hack-n-slash nerfing. On top of all that they now gave out condi immunities to everyone else and even gave warrior yet another physical immunity…because that’s really what the most sustainable and high damage class in the game really needed…. and lowered our weakness, chopped up our bleeds, removed DS as our one defensive tool we could count on to be reliable and removed one of the best aspect of team play we had (looking at you putrid mark cleanse). So what are we given in return? A healing signet that doesn’t heal and a faster reanimator that doesn’t proc when you need it (during fights) making the faster uptime on it pointless.

If these past few months are any indication of where we’re headed, necro is in trouble. Right now yeah we can scrape by, but there’s only so far you can sink this class before it becomes unplayable.

And don’t even get me started on pve necro. What a walking disaster….

Ascended Gear should have a much better drop rate in WvW or you should be able to buy it for Badges. For that Ascended Gear of WvW should be WvW only. So People of PvE wouldn’t have a disadvantage.

It’s just a fact that people who play WvW need incredible much more time to farm gold than people of PvE. You need 15 Bolt of Damask for the new PvE backpiece. You need hundreds of Laurels to get one set. I really enjoy and love this game, but this is a reason for me to quit. I hope there will be a change soon.

Once is for sure, when Dhumfire is nerfed, Necromancers won’t be viable in PvP anymore. Have you tried different builds of them lately? 80% of them are not viable. Thief, here I come

This is just a ridiculous joke. People played months to be able to get these boosters and now we get nothing for our efford.

Making gold in WvW?

Somone who only plays WvW will never be able to be rich. It takes weeks until you have 100g in your pocket. But this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get exotic gear. If you level your character from 1-80 only in WvW you should be able to get a full set. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hey guys,

I’m still not happy with the development of Ascended Gear in WvW. Last time I suggested: Ascended Gear for Badges of Honor

Unfortunatelly people didn’t pay much attention to it for some reasons and the question how many was more important than yes or no. However, I still think it’s an important issue, so I have a new idea to discuss

At the moment, whenever people get an Ascended piece in WvW, they get a random one. Consequently the chance to get the right piece we need is very low.

The idea: Instead of a random piece, we get an Ascended Ticket which is exchangable for the right piece of Ascended Gear (Armor/Weapon/Ring…) we need.

Doesn’t have to be 1k badges, just something relatively possible for a wvw player who drains most of his/her money on the game mode to get the ascended pieces without having to PvE

2-3k badges + 50-100 Glob’s of Ectoplasm=1 Ascended
(+ maybe 10-15 Layrel’s)

Ridiculous prices are no solution. I have an other suggestion:

1000 badges + 3 days cooldown for the npc if you buy one piece

So you would still need 1,5 months until you get one set.
