You choose. It´ll save time and work for you, thus more work and time can get into actual brainstorming
Confirmed by in-game mail that indeed, every rank up you get a transmutation charge
Hehe, you got me with your first answer, it was kinda weird to me as I was sure it was just one time thing. Well, they still have few days to fix it I guess
Just wondering…do we know what´s the status on this item functionality? I bought it because I thought it´ll give glory (which it did, but then they disabled it). I figured that rank points isn´t that bad after all (free transmutation charge for every rank in PvP when the patch hits). But now it´s still disabled and patch is coming closer and closer. Any idea if they´ll fix it before the patch? .
I’d agree that we don’t know everything and waking
Remember that Scarlet spoke to the Pale Tree during the isolation chamber experience. It’s quite possible that what she saw wasn’t the Eternal Alchemy at all, but instead unmitigated, direct access to the Dream and she learned something about the Sylvari/the Dream that was never revealed to us. Likely Caithe’s secret?
I can´t give you the source, but I remember reading/hearing that she just thinks she saw Eternal Alchemy, but in fact it was just a sort of halucination or something. Maybe it was some kind of Dream, since she spoke with Pale Tree and Pale Tree refers to that conversation in-game, so it actually happened on some level.
It could be, as you suggest, that the Entity was somehow in the Dream (or something similar to it) and could have access to any sylvari, but Scarlet was opened to that during experiment
You get heirlooms from rubble piles and the bags for reaching treshold for saving citizens. Alliance bags don´t have them in their loot pool (as far as I know)
1. Elementalist
2. Ranger
3. Warrior

why do i have a feeling that canach will be the final member of DE 2.0?
because he probably will…if you ask me, he was just cool as solo anti-hero
it´s first portal Scarelt´s invasions started from. This indeed leaves confusion with players that didn´t play in the clockwork chaos release, but it´s nice it´s there and us who was there can say “I remember this!”
Scruffy, its called.
Wow, Rox looks even more awful than ever.
Ahh, I’ve seen it called Sparky somewhere, could have been what a player was calling it.
Zojja´s golem is called Mr. Sparkles. That may have caused the confusion
So I was just browsing Gamebreaker.tv and stumbled upon article about EotM update. I guesed, there will be nothing new, but opened it anyway. Boy, I was wrong!
So we will maybe get some more of Canach in this update! I´m genuinely surprised, as I wasn´t expecting Canach to make appearance anytime soon. Check the article for another screenshots, if you want
http://www.gamebreaker.tv/news/new-wvw-experience-latest-guild-wars-2-update/#!
It will make more sense by the end of the season.
Personally, I don´t care if it has some meaning or not (but since it has a meaning, it´s a big plus ). I´m just glad she doesn´t sound that childish anymore. That was really my one and only problem (well, the biggest problem at least). Now she sounds more like a villain with plan, a threat, not just some random person that is there because we need some chaos happening.
I´m really looking forward to FINALLY find out what was actually happening for the past year
I just wanted to stop by and join the praise. The Marionette is really nicely done. I specially liked how you managed to split one zerg into smaller groups. And even though it sometimes feels that your success depends on some individuals and you can´t contribute, another time the success of others depends on you, so I think it´s in the balance I really liked this encounter and wish we could keep it. Or at least, that something similar will come one day and stay permanent Now every uneven hour I think of as a Marionette-time
Hey. So, I finally got into Scarlet´s Lair and got her journal. When I first read it (I wasn´t wearing headphones), I thought "I got a book that is readable and gives me lore and story! Thats awesome! ". And it became even more awesome when I found out it has voiceover.
So…Back in the days, there was this idea of books with lore, there was even colectibles tab in the bank for them. Some lore, in some way, was supposed to be get even from skill points (if it was in form of these books too, I don´t know). It was deffinetely in the betas, at least in those for press. You got the system implemented, but you scrapped it because you weren´t OK with the system. All the time, lore enthusiasts (yes..not nerds. Enthusiasts! ) were asking for this, you were saying that only text you can provide us is by that small dialogue window and it´s not fit for a book.
Behold! We have a book in that small dialogue window, a physical (well, digital) book we can read (and even have multiple coppies, there are journal scraps in the lair after completing it first).
I just has to ask…did something changed in your book-policy? And if not…would you finally consider to add a functionality like this? All it takes is pull all the books you made out of the drawer and put it into game somehow. Just add that little collectible tab for books. This way, you can provide us old lore, and new, LS lore too. Would be so awesome. And with the voiceover (maybe different one for general lore, for personal story lore, and LS lore? or even the same, I don´t care!), it´d bu just this more awesome. Please, think about it ANet Thanks and keep up the good work!
I say that majority enjoys this type of content. There you go. And my word is as good as mine.
I think he was talking about similar art. It´s here somewhere too. Maybe it was this art, but deffinetely something looking like this
Also, to add to the Southsun argument…If people would follow the story, they´d get it. If they care only about loots and achievements, they won´t. It´s indeed hard sometimes to make the best of the story, as you have to look for the bits and talk to people, or simply wait and listen to them talk. But I find it enjoyable.
And I don´t think we saw only beginning and end, with no middle. I think beggining ocured at the end of F&F, when the refugees talked about relocation and stuff. Then, they were relocated (off-screen), some time passed and then problems came and we arrived to handle it. So if anything, we saw only middle and the end in that release, start being the ending of previous arc.Still, if its something that big and important to story development, it shouldn’t have been a side note that players may or may not be in the right place at the right time to hear, but rather, revealed in an instance or cut scene, where players would be sure to see it. I love lore, but I didn’t notice the convo at all, many players missed it completely, and that’s simply because it was badly placed. We’ve already long since agreed that its a matter of presentation, not sure why we’re dragging up this old debate.
True. I haven´t a problem with this in particular, but we can agree that ANet sometimes can´t deliver the story in comprehensible fashion. You have to truly look for it, and sometimes it´s just not worth the time to spent many hours to find a tidbit of lore
And to the matter of them deciding to link it all to one villain. There were hints on Scarlet in the end of F&F, at the beginning of LS, there were hints by devs that this arc will bring us “personal nemesis”. It´s kinda sad, but they planned Scarlet all along. It just falled at implementation. The story could be great how they initially wrote it, but it´s not so great (or just plainly bad) in-game. The true problem is, as Mia said, presentation, not story itself.

I was listening to VisualWood podcast yesterday, and it seems that Matt and WP both talked a little with ANet about future patch. Even though they made sure they won´t give anything away, but they sounded excited and said that there indeed is more to the patch than two bosses. And especially from a lore guy that WP is, it means something to me It´s called Origins of the Madness after all
Also, to add to the Southsun argument…If people would follow the story, they´d get it. If they care only about loots and achievements, they won´t. It´s indeed hard sometimes to make the best of the story, as you have to look for the bits and talk to people, or simply wait and listen to them talk. But I find it enjoyable.

The point should be simple, the reason they need a second group of heroes is so that they ’don’t cross the streams’ between LS and PS. And their choice to use parallelism towards that ends is simply to add an artistic twist. Well, whether they succeeded remains to be seen, but parallelism in itself is a powerful story mechanic, for aesthetics if nothing else, so don’t discredit it as a viable option. After all, every business that should hope to sell, realizes that employing aesthetics is an absolute must.
I just see it more as a copy, than parallel. There is no need to have exact same group with one of each race etc. If they just form some group, I´m OK with it. But being it a copy of DE makes no sense to me. But that´s my opinion, some people could see in intriguing.
That’s a contradiction; you understand how Forgal’s death would impact the story, but not Tybald or Sieran’s? Any one of the three would leave the player in the same situation I described. If anything Tybald more so BECAUSE of the secrets he carries. Don’t tell you think Zhiatan learning the Order of Whispers secrets doesn’t impact the plot. As for Sieran… well, she was the weakest character of the trio, annoying at best. So I’d have to say her death was quite satisfactory. But yes, she did have to die just like the rest, otherwise the plot wouldn’t fallow the same path. In this turning point from piece to war, from follower to leader, you would have missed the train.
Eh, you misunderstood me there I was talking about death itself, not about it´s impact. Forgal is a norn, so he was probably happy he could die a heroic death and be remembered as the one who saved Lionguard and future Pact commander on Claw Island. Tybald dieing didn´t make sense exactly because of the knowledge he had. He had to know how the corruption worked, that he is bringing that knowledge to the enemy. But I somewhat understand why he wanted to do something heroic personaly. Sirean, as you said, died because the other mentors died too. That´s the whole point. They could pull it off by each mentor dieing in some different matter, but yeah…I understand why the mentors had to die story-wise.
Really? On numerous accounts, we fended out hordes of risen alone (or virtually so) in events, on word maps, in instances and dungeons. And as for holding off a dragon, I used to solo Tequatl before they revamped him. Sure, Id still die, but I could last a good five minutes or so. So with that being said, why couldn’t they hold them off long enough for us to get to the ship? Do you suppose we are supper heroes with powers far superior to the rest of our race? That no one else can accomplish what we can? While certainly the elite, the hero, perhaps even the most skilled of warriors; our characters are still mortals, and thus would have peers rivals and betters. And to that point, at the time of our mentors’ deaths, they were as skilled, if not more so, than our characters.
Ok, I see your point. I was maybe a little too cynical there. But still, when the ship sailed off, only thing I thought of was “OK, and now dragon attacks and sinks us”. Because, if I remember correctly, the dragon was still in the fortress and there was nothing holding him back.
But I think we went a little off-topic
The Norn are believed to have descended and evolved from the Kodan. There are different theories, but the most commonly accepted one in the lore is that they’re an offshoot of Kodan who eventually separated from the rest of them, going to a different part of the northern regions and evolved into what they are today, resembling humans. This is for whatever the reason is why they can shape shift, though.
This is, however, only Kodan´s look at things. Norns then see Kodan as norns stuck in their bear forms. All theories of norn origin (as well as sylvari, for example), ar just theories in game world and every race has a different one
There have been conflicting backgrounds on them by developers in the past, and in both games. In GW1 there’s a character who was the offspring of Norn & human, but then a dev came on here a long time ago and said they can’t reproduce and then somewhere another said perhaps it would be possible. Whatever the case, they’re not “just tall humans”.
There was and idea on interbreeding species which could result into this “half-norn”, but they realised they don´t want this. There is this guy that says is descendant of norn and human, but it is considered canon that each race can reproduce only within it´s species.
The steam creatures have a KNOWN origin. They were created by the Asura player character in an alternate dimension by accident.
So nope, no alliance with them sorry. The problem here is…. How is Scarlet able to spawn these Steam creatures in her invasions at will and fight for her willingly?
One of many questions that we should, really, really should find out.
My money is on asura PC from alternat rality took possesion of Ceara and became Scarlet! * is totaly, maybe not so much, serious *
They said however that they have plans for him in the livestream…But I don´t think he´ll make a good match for this kind of group. More of him will come, yes, but I hope not in this way.
Why not? An antihero would serve as a good juxtapose to the otherwise noble crowd. It also deepens plot and character development, if say, they don’t actually trust or get along with him, at least initially.
Just my feeling. He is not a character fit to be part of a group of heroes. If he somewhat cooperates, it´s ok, but more like an external help.
But if they kill of Kasmeer, so that it´ll be as parallel to Snaff…that´ll be just stupid. If there are too many paralels, it´l not be believable at all.
You’re missing the point, the parallelism in itself is an art, not to be confused with copying, recycling, or being unoriginal by any means; to take a source and present it in another way, adds a layer of depth. Well, if done correctly at any rate.
Now that you used word copying, I see it more like it, than paralel. Paralel should also have a point. What point would DE 2.0 have? So we have two almost identical groups of heroes for every story delivering medium?
Take Tybalt for example. His death was so pointless.
It wasnt pointless at all, the mentors died to serve as a turning point and to propel plot and character development. Both feature your first big loss: plot wise it’s the loss of an important fort and the first real indication that Zhiatan is an imminent threat, no longer can you sit on the sidelines; and character wise, its the loss of a friend, or more specifically, the loss of a mentor. You have to think of the mental strant this would put on you, both the depression, and the realization that you no longer have someone to follow; now you have to lead. Its the passing of the torch so to speak. Though I admit they didn’t dig deep enough into it, the anguish of having to slay your risen mentor would have been a nice touch.
Well, yeah, I get that. And It struck me when my mentor died (except of Forgal…for one, I didn´t like him, second, what greater death for a norn there is?). But I didn´t bought it with Tybald or Sieran. There was no point of THEM to die. Tybald, for example, was high-ranked agent of the Order. How many secrets went to Zhaitan with him? And Sieran…I had the feeling that she is just dieing because all the mentors had to die. Besides…they only closed the door. They had a freaking dragon lieutenant there and army of Risen that could just climb the walls and jump. And even if not, the ship we were escaping at could be destroyed so easily by dragon. And for how long could one man (or woman) stop a tide of Risen? Not for long enough, that´s for sure. I mean, the sacrifice should not save us. It´d buy us a minute or two at most, but we should´ve died at the end. But that´s another story.
Nice theory there…the thing with this poem is, it could be fit to almost anything if you have enough imagination. That´s the problem with all prophecies and stuff. Take Nostradamus. It´s writen in so cryptic and general way, that if you try hard enough, you can fit it to almost any event.
As far as I can remember, the other poem´s meaning was basically “Scarlet smash”. There may be something, but yeah…Also, devs have stated that one of the theories out there is actually true, so let´s see about who´s
well, there is always the factor of the last impression…if the end blows your mind, you are more likely to look in retrospect and think that it wasn´t that bad, actually it might been kinda cool. But we shouldn´t forget that LS we got up until this point wasn´t that much great. It had it´s bright moments, but overall, it was poorly implemented and we should have that in mind, however cool the finale will be.
I say let´s see how they´ll do with first releases of season two, there we will see if the´ve learned on their mistakes, or there is all hope lost
To be fair, there were clues of a mastermind behind Molten Aliance, at the very end, when you were questioning the prisoners. Also, at the end of Aetherblade Retreat, Mai Trin mentions Scarlet and most of the people guessed it is the same person that was behind F&F (with a little help from devs that said that there is this “personal nemesis” and that it´s a she). But all in all, they failed, there deffinetely need to be more clues and story progressing with release. Seriously, it´s over a year and we will start to learn important bits of the story just now…but they know they made a mistake there. The problem was, I think, that they saw the big picture, the whole arc, so for them, the releases made sense, since they already saw the mosaic they will fit into…but we didn´t.
@PeterThomas: shorter stories with it´s own conclusion with bigger story going on in background…how is that shallow? Nobody ever said they´ll be shallow. They might be, but let´s hope not. I, for one, liked F&F very much (F&F being around 4 releases with it´s own story, being connected to a bigger one), even though it was rather slow. Now, with bi-weekly cadence it´ll be a little more fast-paced. We just have to keep our hopes up during this finale and first releases of the new season and let´s judge after it
@CharrGirl
My point exactly…and death of the mentor isn´t only one death for the sake of death in personal story…Maybe he just needed to close the door and thus give us time, but I don´t buy that. It´d be emotional for the first time, but after that when you just know they will die next. If they have to kill someone, let it not be just some random death. But on the other hand, if they indeed kill Kasmeer, at least we know her for some time now. There are many deaths of just random characters that appeared in previous story step, now they are killed and we feel noting for them, because we don´t know them
Oh, but there are official accusations…but sadly, it´s Hobo-Tron and Minstrel and instead of hanging, they are taking donations for DR in LA…
When talking about it, they said Canach is a minor character (as is Kiel) while the new team are major characters. This implies that Canach won’t join the team. There is a male asura in the coming update who could be a new member, and we still haven’t met E yet. It’s possible that E is a sylvari (even an asura, although that’s a stretch).
They said however that they have plans for him in the livestream…But I don´t think he´ll make a good match for this kind of group. More of him will come, yes, but I hope not in this way.
I´m not so keen on seeing new Destiny´s Edge, was refusing to accept something like that the entire time, but with that asura comming, it´s actually happening for sure. But if they kill of Kasmeer, so that it´ll be as paralel to Snaff…that´ll be just stupid. If there are too many paralels, it´l not be believable at all.
I…just…how can this type of people even live? How is it possible I can live here…this world is truly astonishing…nice way of putting things out of context for random hate and rage btw, very nicely done! When someone says that he was aiming for something, it doesn´t men he is saying “kitten, it´s just like this thing!”. just stop for a second and learn with understanding
PS: I´m sorry to anyone who feels offended by me actually raging over someone raging, but I just couldn´t take it anymore…after these many threads with topics put out of context and with just random rage and “give me this” attitude, I just couldn´t take it anymore. As for those who were insulted and felt like I was talking about them…I don´t appologise. I was talking about you
Scarlet is either: A) Luring the dragons from the far corners of Tyria closer to central Tyria, which would be absolutely DEVASTATING for the world as we know it …
Now, it may be that even the Elder Dragons can be effected by Scarlett’s spores, since the spores are a chaos-magical creation. Could Scarlett be attempting to infect a dragon with spores in order to study the physically manifested hallucinations?
Now THIS is another very plausible theory. What if Scarlet is attempting to lure ALL the Elder Dragons to a central location, infect them all with her Hallucinatory Spores, and then have them fight each other while confused? When only one remains, gravely weakened from the battle, that’s when Scarlet steps in with her army, kills it, and becomes the Savior/New Supreme Overlord of Tyria.
Yeah, problem is that Elder Dragons aren´t friendly toward each other by default…It´d be sufficient to just lure them all on one place and they would start to fight right away. The other question is…what would happen if so many ED´s would start to fight at one location…
how do you think AI works in them, btw? Is it similar to golems (even though I have no idea how it works with golems too…I suppose some crystal asura magitech of some sort), or controled from one center? Asura golems and Forgeman are magical to some extend (no?), and since these are, as you said, just human-shaped watches, how does that work?
we will see for sure in the day of the patch, when we´ll see patchnotes…but I agree, every release there was upleveling for the new content, there is no need to think now it will change
…
OK, fine. Nike has convinced me. But who’s going to be Scarlet’s partner in the neural bridge?? O.o
I say it´ll be Trehearne to tie it in with Personal Story.
The previous voices also weren´t anyone in particular, so I don´t think it´s supposed to be someone…just random awesome epic voice
just to drop it out here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-14-you-thought-that-was-it-for-guild-wars-2
the part that might interest you : “ArenaNet is full tilt with the Chinese launch of Guild Wars 2, the Season One finale, the feature-build update and the two big background projects.”
lordkrall, the voice of reason. Thank you.
And could we cease to be cynical for no reason? Exaggerating won´t helps us. Devs have already said (numerous times) that Scarlet´s arc does have conclusion and it is indeed coming in the next 4 patches. And as for the “sister” – she indeed has a sister(s) and even brother(s), as all sylvari has but one mother – the Pale Tree. And Ceara (aka Scarlet) is no more than few years old (as sylvari are born adult), so there goes your bonus arc about her puberty.
I know I´m responding with seriousness to your ridiculous joke that you thought was funny, but I don´t really know how other to respond to that.
If there was an expansion, it could very well be all LS releases somehow tied to each other in one chunk and a box with Scarlet´s face slaped on it. They made mistake with Scarlet. They learned. Let´s hope they learned good. To be frank, I´m somewhat glad we had Scarlet, because they were also learning how to deliver this kind of content. I rather see them crew up Scarlet than another Dragon, or some awesome plot from GW1.
Just do what I do…wait for the next “season” of living story and when you don´t like it, then kitten about it. they really couldn´t just stop the story in the middle because someone don´t like it. There are indeed people that enjoy it (and some even enjoy Scarlet shrugs), you know? They have to work on it too, as I said, it takes them 4 months to implement feedback. They even took one or two releases off to deliver the best patches they can do. It´s not ideal to try to save the story at the end (especially if it took them a year to get to the end with no answers on the way), but at least it´s something. Wait and see. If these patches and the first ones of next season will suck, then I´d worry
There is Season 2 of LS comming, they will be able to finally adress all the feedback in there (keep in mind that the LS patch you are currently playing was worked on 4 months ago, since that´s how their teams are working)
VIP membership was confirmed as a thing they are testing for China, which will be a separate region (there is beta in China right now)
Expansion would be good, I can´t disagree, but for the love of god, stop it already…all I see is whining about no expansion. You don´t like LS, don´t play it. Because GW1 had expansion every 6 months doesn´t mean GW2 will. If you take for example WoW (that is so dear to most of the people and there is always “WoW this, WoW that” arguments), it took 2 years for Blizzard to release Burning Crusade and it was 2 years between other expansions too. We are a year in GW2 lifespan and even though LS has it´s limitations it´s getting better. I´d just wait and see for the conclusion and the new plot. If that´s not good, we can slowly start to panic.
Also, I know this is internet and kitten and it´s expected to people rage over here, but I just had enough of this already. And if you want a response from the devs – be polite, provide constructive feedback and don´t demand.?
Just calm down and enjoy the game. If you don´t enjoy it, stop playing. Easy as that.
just two thing that has been already said…it´s good to see a dev in here once in a while (even with no splashy red around name ).
And short stories – I was among the ones that “disliked them”, I started one thread about it too…and thing is…short stories are good and by all means keep them comming if you can, but let us find out basic info in the game too. Or something that refers to them, acknowledge them happening. So that we know what happened from game and we can get some insight of how/when/why, i.e. more details in the stories…It´s like…we don´t mind there being books, but it is good we can find out in game what happened in them.
That´s all and keep up the good work. I´m looking forward for what you prepared for us for next patch (and not only because we will get rid of Scarlet )
Q1: This is no lore question per se, but tied to lore team and was wondering about it for some time – Are Ree Soesbee and Jeff Grubb still Lore Gurus of ANet? Since launch, I heard almost nothing from/about them. And if not, who is the Master of the Lore?
Q2: There is a Grenth statue in Shiverpeaks mountains (with Underworld creatures around and skill point to commune with the statue). What exactly is it doing there and what is it´s purpose?
Q3: We know that Infinity Coil Reactor (aka Crucible of Eternity) is supposed to tap into Dragon energies. 250 years ago, asuras were “powering” their entire gate network with magic of Primordus. How exactly can one harvest the Draconic energies to use them as power source. What are it´s pros and cons?
Q4: Again, not 100% lore question, but does Living Story takes place after Personal Story, or are these happening alongside each other? I remember that Lost Shores (not LS yet, I know, but basically it was, even though it wasn´t) were stated to happen because Zhaitan is dead and seas are more free to be sailed (but later it was stated that it is not determined when these things happen). Also Tequatl Rising – there is Pact, even though in PS it can not be established for someone. There is also mention by one of the generals of the Southsun…Therefore – before or after Zhaitan? (and don´t tell me it doesn´t matter, please, it does)
Q4: What are origins of the norn and why do they look so human like (or is it humans who look norn-like, since they are from different planet?)
Q5: To continue in that spirit…will we ever learn where are humans from exactly and why (and how!) did the Six brought them on Tyria?
Q6: Spirits of the Wild. Are they just basic manifestations of the animals, or are they entities comparable to the Six gods? Meaning, are they god-like in nature, or are just some magical spirits?
Q7: How does it work, when a Spirit (like Owl) dies. There are owls that are effected by this (in Snowden Drifts, I think? there is this Lodge of Owl, destroyed with sacred Owls and Heart based around this), but on the other hand, there are Owls that are completely fine.
Q8: Were asuras ever on surface before the events of GW1? What exactly is Rata Pten?
Q9: Gargoyles…what happened?
Q10: How does Dragon corruption work exactly? When one dies and is corrupted, is his spirit trapped within his corpse? When long dead body is corrupted (for example, last king of Orr), is it´s spirit pulled from the mists (as his spirit shows when his corrupted body – the Eye is killed), or what?
Aaaand I guess I ´ll stop right here…sorry if I asked a question that was already asked, I stopped to read them all
And oh, thanks for doing this ANet, much appreciated!
That is a great name, has a nice ring to it. I´d give it 7/10.
I have a norn elementalist, Baine Arcanesteel.
You see, he is an ele, but I think of him more like a battlemage. He uses magic and elements to aid him in hand-to-hand combat
there is no clear origin of the norn race, but they are not just tall humans. They look like humans, granted, but they are norn. Just as elfs aren´t just humans with pointy ears.
There are theories that they are somehow conected with humans, but no clear answer to that. Kodan, for example, think that they are kodans, fallen in disrespect and they lost their bear forms (kodans are the polar-bear people for those who don´t know) and are able to transform into it just for a little while. Norn, on the other hand, believe that kodans are just norn stuck in their Bear forms, so take it with a grain of salt.
What has to be said, however, norn were much taller in GW1 than they are now (probably for the sake of mechanics). They almost looked like half-giants (didn´t play GW1, but I seen pictures). So there you are…they are humanoids and wery human-like, but not like humans, they are distinct race of its own
because there are forum changes in progress you can read about here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Forum-Updates-in-Progress
basically, post your suggestions into the sub-forum it fits into.
Big thanks, it´s good to know that devs are listening and answering the lore questions and such….we need more of this!
take it this way – lore has it´s own section now and could indeed fire up some race-centered lore discussion in there…but I have to agree about the positioning, it´s way too far from the beginning… so much scrooling
there may be something to it, I will definitely have a look at those vines in-game, never payed close attention to them. And to add to your theory, I think it´s been confirmed that the Nightmare corruption is also physical in some way, plus one that falls for the Nightmare can´t return back to normal.
To add to this,in Edge of Destiny book (spoilers!), Caithe has this black mark on her when she is somewhat falling to Nightmare, cured by Faoline at the end (but I´m not sure with this, it´s been a while since I read this)
“A fire is rising you can´t contain”
As someone mentioned, I think this has something to do with the thumpers/probes and leylines. Maybe she is charging them or tempering them in some way for them to go boom or something like that? Release too much magic at once at one place? The laylines may be indeed under ground or something (or do we know this for sure? either way, I always imagined them to be underground), so that may be the secret she knows? An result of the “magic explosion”? Tyria will burn.
I also agree that some lines don´t necessarily mean something and are there for the rhyme only.
“Playtime is over”. If this means Scarlet will stop being childish, I´m sold
I seem to fail to understand why is this in Lore thread.
But since we ARE in the lore thread, let me say this…Sylvari can have sex, but cannot have children
There was an achievement for it last year, now there is just daily. I think that they already got the assets so they put it into the game and since there is no achieve for it in the meta, they added some to the dailies at least.
Seeing as people were kittening about “Smash X number of pinatas”, “Interact Y times with this” etc. in the meta-achievement (and having a number around 100 or 200 interacts) and they removed that type of achievement, it´s a good progress
