Wow people actually switch teams to try to win a hotjoin? That’s really sad…
I’m usually the one volunteering myself to go to the losing team. What’s life without a challenge?
Someone actually started a thread about that specific issue here.
It is sad indeed. Let’s hope Anet can solve this issue.
And here.
Build: 16458
Error code: 42:6:3:2158
Error message: The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time.
Thanks for re-telling the story! Like others, I also missed out on any NPC chat and was confused because of it. Fought some karka, which didn’t last that long at all, and then nothing seemed to happen. Event wouldn’t update, and I didn’t receive the mail, untill I re-zoned. So thanks for providing the context I am sad it didn’t work that way for me and it brings back memories of a particular cutscene with just green smoke coming out of a certain fountain
Now that phase one has ended, will we still be able to finish this quest? I have got the two other items I need and only need the last one from Saballa. If we can’t, could you please let us know, so I can safely delete the other two items in my inventory?
Exactly the same is happening in Gunnar’s Hold.
Canach is also stuck on Gunnar’s Hold.
The CM story mode was fixed with the last patch, see update notes here.
Just saw the patch notes, thanks for fixing CM!
(my apologies for the double post, but I can no longer edit my original post)
The story mode for Caudecus Manor is blocked in that the last fight cannot be completed. There are several threads on the forum about this, but I thought I’d be nice and collect them here for you:
Basic breakdown of the problem: in the final fight (once you found the queen and she is standing there protecting herself) you have to kill a boss and three separatists. The dungeon, however, only spawns two separatists. As a result, the objective of the event (kill 3 separatists) cannot be completed and any progress is blocked.
I have also seen people suggest the following suggestion in several places and I would like to bring it up here too, because I think it could be nice to have. If a dungeon is bugged, could you close said dungeon (or put up a warning that a the bugged part is ‘under construction’), so that players don’t keep running into the same problem? Right now I almost feel compeled to check the forum before I even try a dungeon, just to be sure that it is not bugged. Somehow that does not feel right and I really would love to feel confident that once I start a dungeon adventure I am not going to run into a bug that has already been reported on the forums.

Alternatively, remove the achievement from the world event. Not sure about anyone else but I don’t really care about the loot that drops, I want the clock tower because of the achievement associated with it. Remove the achievement and the clock tower becomes optional.
I would just like to point out, that completing the clock tower does not count as an achievement towards the overall event title. What you get from the clock tower are some achievement points and ofcourse the nice exotics.
Quote from a dev (I modified the quote a little to have a relevant sentence, see the square brackets):
… pumpkin carving and clock tower don’t count [towards emissary title].
Link to the post and thread this quote was taken from: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/halloween/Emissary-of-the-Mad-King-Can-t-count/first#post551330
Completing the clock tower is very much optional

It is also happening on Gunnar’s Hold.
There is another thread where people are reporting the same issue here. I am guessing Anet is too busy with the Halloween event to have time to fix bugs like these, but I am hoping it is high on their list of things to do right after the event is over.

I’d just like the 10-Slot Bag to be account bound so characters that couldn’t get the bag can still use it. I’d love to pass it on to an alt, but I can’t when it’s soulbound.
I think it’s perfectly fine as a 10-Slot Bag; everything about it as a reward seems great, just not the binding on it.
I wholeheartedly agree. I think it is a really nice holiday memento and I am very happy they decided to include something like this. However, since we can only have one, I would love for it to be account bound, so we can decide which character to give it to.
Takatsu, whether or not there is a reason to complain about the cutscene not working properly for everyone can be argued about (of course, ideally, they should work, but things can happen). ArenaNet, however, does need to know that it did not work for everyone, so they can try and figure out why and hopefully prevent it from happening in future events.
I think you are right. My husband and I have almost identical computers (and the same video card). He saw the Mad King climb out of the fountain, I saw the green smoke, ghosts and sparkies. I am happy people put it on youtube, so I can enjoy it anyhow
Just adding my two cents by saying I experienced the exact same problem. The very last fight cannot be completed, due to the quest being stuck at 2/3 separatists killed (probably because of an unspawned separatist, although I do not know that for sure). The group of soldiers guarding the queen constisted for me out of 2 fighters and the boss and the boss does not count as one of the three separatists you are supposed to kill.
I hope you can look into fixing this soon, since this blocking bug is frustrating on two fronts. One for not being able to complete my personal story and two for affecting the very last fight. Although all blocking bugs are bad, the fact that you can successfully run through the entire story mode just to find this block at the end makes the bug even more disappointing.
And I despise the Krait, in no small part due to what they inflict upon the Quaggan.
Krait are foo!
Besides requesting a make-over pack, I think the OP is making a more important point: it is not obvious to everyone at the creation of a Sylvari that they glow (or perhaps more accurately, pulsate) in the dark and that you can affect both the colour and the intensity of their glow. Perhaps Anet can easily fix this by either automatically toggling off the light the moment someone picks a glow colour or changes the glow intensity at the creation page, or by introducing a pop-up/hover-over text that informs the player that the glow can be seen by toggling off the light.
I actually think this glow-in-the-dark is an awesome feature and really adds to the unique feel of the Sylvari. I literally squeled the first time I noticed it and just had to sit and stare at her pulsate for a few minutes. I was lucky to have picked the right colour for her, but it would be real nice if people were fully informed on this brilliant feature so they can make the most of it even with their first Sylvari.
There are several threads in the bug section all reporting the same issue. It appears that since the last update on september 14th, random lines of dialogue in cutscenes are missing their voice over and this is happening across story archs and across races. This is by no means a special Sylvari issue.
I have been experiencing the same problem today and yesterday. My husband and I are playing through the durmand priory and order of whispers lvl 30 – 40 personal story arch and at times lines in the cutscene are missing both the voice and the animation of the character delivering the dialogue. There does not seem to be any pattern to which of the lines are missing (it most certainly is not character bound, as the OP has already stated). It feels as if at times the ‘cue’ to trigger the voice and the animation has been ignored, leaving the characters stand there motionless and forcing us to read the text.
