What should I gear towards or expect in dungeons / fractals? I’m worried the speedrunning may factor into this and knowing how to portal in certain locations might be required.

I’ve purchased the Molten Alliance Mining Pick and Consortium Harvesting Sickle when they were soulbound.

I have deleted the character they were assigned to but kept the items in my bank.

I’m trying to convert them to account bound items as stated in the Wiki.

Would the achievements be retroactive also? Say I miss content, would I be able to go back and at least get the achievements?

Any idea on which this would become available to purchase? I think they said 200 gems per story content.

Also, would this be retroactive into season one or are we s.o.l for missing part of the content?

Hello fellow players! I’m looking at returning to Guild Wars 2 but not sure if my build would need revising any.

This is the build I have currently on my mesmer which is a glass cannon mantra build.

Would it be better the look at other options or could I stick with this build successfully? I’ve seen assassin/runes of the ranger builds and those look viable.

My Guild Wars 2 Test file

I’ve been experience random crashing while playing Guild Wars 2. This is on a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium.

So far I have uninstalled Guild Wars 2 and my video card drivers. Restarting between each install.

All my other games are not affected (Unreal Tournament 3, Modern Warfare 1-3, Hearthstone, Starcraft 2) all playing on Highest Settings.

Any idea what may be causing this issue. I would really like to start playing again but this is preventing me from reliably playing.

I’ve been looking through several builds for WvW and wanted to see what people may recommend.

I have a friend who is playing a thief and would like for something that may compliment that if possible.

Main hand scepter/Off hand sword/Main hand sword/Off hand focus (All Valkyrie)
Knights set
Ascended pieces (power/toughness/crit damage)

Melandru runes x6
Superior sigil of Battle on Scepter and main hand sword
Superior sigil of Acuracy on off hand sword and focus

I’ve also been looking to a Bunker Build for with Staff and Scepter/Focus.

Any opinions or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

My mesmer in all her glory.

Most likely, some monsters have effects that reduce attacks, crit, etc against them.

Stats of enemies have effect on what our stats do during combat.

What we might be running across is the stats of the enemy you are attacking. There might be a stat that lowers the chances of a critical hit against them.

(i.e. Dexterity in D&D would allow for a higher chance of critical hit or hit on target and would lower the chances of being hit via Armor Class)

We might be seeing the idea that Toughness or Precision may carry the same concept.

Check to make sure your chat channels are active.

Show be the overview 2 for the chat window in the Wiki Link. Also make sure Main Chat is selected.

Interesting idea, don’t have full zerker gear or I would try this with my necro.

When a squad is created by a commander, do the players in the squad show up on the map like they would in a party? I haven’t found a yes or no on this.

well, I’m just looking at using it for farming and possible world events. Dungeons I will always run gear for my build.

Currently I’m at 132% MF only lacking the runes and earrings which would give another 74% putting the total at 206%.

Is this good? Or should I be looking at a higher number for MF?

Over the past few weeks I have slowly purchased a set of magic find armor.

Occasionally I see a boost in the drops received and some days I see little to no drops.

So the ultimate question, is it really worth spending on magic find?

I really like the idea of streaming the number selection via the internet. Helps with the anticipation of the number selection.

Curious to see if any other guild does something similar to this.

Looking at setting up a lotto that pays out once per week in which members pay 5 silver per number (1-100) up to 5 numbers.

The amount paid in is the amount paid out amongst the winners.

Should I be worried about either myself or fellow guild members being flagged for gold selling or what not?

Color scheme isn’t final yet, was thinking black with either dark red or purple highlights.

1 – Clumping up a group of enemies and landing the perfect Epidemic. Love mass conditions. Also using Life Transfer in place of Epidemic.

2 – Death Shroud saving me so many times when my heal is about to come off cool down.

3 – Being able to play support, cc, and damage all in the same build.

4 – Spectral Grasp / Spectral Wall combo – being able to stack vulnerability quickly is nice.

5 – Landing big critical hits in Death Shroud and/or Lich Form.

I’m looking at replacing my rare amulet, rings, and earrings with ascended items instead of exotic.

At the moment I have enough laurels for 3 of the 5.

Question I have is would it be idea to focus on the 3 stats my build is centered around (power, precision, condition damage) or purchase the items that have all stats but lower stat bonuses.

I’ve watched several videos and looked over some guides but haven’t exactly received a clear idea on which is better long term.

Any help would be appreciated before I create another month+ worth of work to get another item when I could of purchase the correct item to begin with.

Just hit level 80 today on my necromancer (woot excited!) and am curious to see what is expected of necromancers in dungeons and/or fractals.

My plan was to learn the glass cannon build from Nemesis (I would love to go this route, but understand if this isn’t generally accepted) and have been running that spec in PvE for the past few days with some success. Prior to this I was running a staff and scepter/focus condition damage build.

Planning to start with low-end dungeons like Ascalonian Catacombs and Caudecus’ Manor then attempt level 1-5 Fractals.

I’m sure I can figure it out. I am familiar to some extent with the BIOS and system settings, etc. AHCI settings are just something I am not familiar with.

Does it provide any performance boost or benefit? Or should I just install the SSD and just transfer the game?

Ok, ya’ll lost me with AHCI. How and where would I find out if my computer is capable of this?

Cables are good, just bought some new data cables and my motherboard is SATA 6Gbps capable.

I have recently acquired a 40GB Kingston SSD.

I am looking at trying to reduce my load times in game.

My plan is to install the SSD into my tower and just install Guild Wars 2 only to the SSD.

Anyone have experience with running the game only from the SSD or would any issues possibly arise due to this?

Look for an active guild. There are several active guilds on SBI that focus on PvE and/or PvP.

I use this when I can’t find a group either in my guild or on SBI. While there have been some bad groups, the good groups by far out way the bad groups.

As far as just killing Karkas, you will have that again in the next update on May 14th (I think).

Select your server here and at least try to do a major event or two. You get a rare or exotic once per event guaranteed. I usually try to do a dragon or two, fire elemental, maw, and shadow behemoth while I am online if all their timings are correct.

Only change I made was swapping the Summon Flesh Wurm for Well of Suffering for extra bit of AOE damage and vulnerability.

This is exactly why WvW doesn’t need to be included in Map Completion.

I haven’t seen Stormbluff Isle hold their own in WvW for almost a month now and the current state of our battlegrounds is horrible.

Sanctum of Rall controls most of the battlegrounds.

While I already have 100% map completion, this does pose a problem if any player wants to get this on Stormbluff Isle.

While yes legendaries, titles, etc are optional and not required but long term goals can be easily blocked by this map completion requirement.

Good rule of thumb to doublecheck your address / name you are sending the message to.

Uhm….sorry, but in Outlook, you can recall an item if you do it before the other person opens it.

Yes, I know this and this feature requires an Exchange account to be used. If you use anything else this feature WILL NOT WORK!

I have met less then 10 people that use exchange accounts on a daily basis while a majority of the population uses email provided by their ISP or Yahoo / AOL / Gmail which doesn’t have features like this.

Such a feature allows people to become lazy with their emails IMO. I think it is a horrible addition to any email client.

Some of my guildies and I were talking about this earlier. It can be difficult to tell certain classes apart due to the lack of varied armor sets.

While the visuals for the various skills are great and impressive, the classes themselves seem to blur together with the same armor sets.

The original game had upward of almost 300 different armor sets across all games / professions.

While, I’m not saying take out the current armor system but adding some extra armor for specific professions (whether it be obtained via gold, gem, crafting, dungeon tokens, and/or karma) could definitely help the professions stand apart from one another.

I like the trait idea. I would say where you pay once to unlocked a switchable trait set out of combat / dungeons / spvp. Of course only have where 2 or 3 are available to swap.

I agree with this 100%. I was actually coming to the forums to make a suggestion thread for this.

The cost to retrait, even though not much, adds up over time if you are constantly switching between builds.

Making it only switching outside of combat or dungeons would be ideal.
