I beat him in a 1v1 on my Thief in a solo Q so I’ll never forget!
He’s probably top 3 Engi’s NA at the moment. He’s been around for a long time.

I love last refuge so much; it’s saved me countless of times. When you are stunned up the kitten or about to die; DONT DO ANYTHING. I know it’s hard; but try it and you’ll get it to work for you pretty much 95% of the time. As long as you’re watching your hp; you can always get it to proc for you in your benefit

Wish I’d like to know your advice on Scholar runes using a 0/30/30/10/0 build vs a 10/30/30/0/0 build and using Traveler runes. You lose 165 power and 10% extra damage from your opening strike.. for that extra 25% movement speed. Am I missing something?

The benefits of using Travelers is that it frees up a extra slot if using SoS. With a free utility, you can add in an Assassin’s Signet (180 power +10% dmg of first 5 attacks) if you want to make up the loss damage of scholar. Or you can go pick up another stun breaker which is never a bad thing, especially when fighting 2 people (as one stun, knockdown, fear can quickly kill you, and almost certainly when a zerg rolls on top of you ). Or select whatever else you like or something your your group needs =]

Right now I’m running scholar and Assassins. I really love the backstab damage. But I’m trying to transition over to D/D and use traveler so that way I can run Blinding powder/shadow refuge and Shadowstep. It’d make me almost untouchable w/ tanky specs. But I’ll see if I like damage more; who knows.

You forgot the one where you move away infiltrator strike; start casting stomp; shadow return back and finish with infiltrator signet. That way you can save your Shadow step for a get out of situation or to remove condis. But goodjob that you’re posting tips for new thieves!

I’m leaving the game and would like to just share my build so some thieves can have fun with it and enjoy the build. Nothing more.

Hello I’d like to share a build with you guys for solo roaming that has an amazing effect with very high crit chance but also the ability to reset a fight and take on multiple targets at once. Mind you this will be a solo roaming style build. To change to a group play build not much has to be changed.

You can choose to go with either perception stacks (crit chance) or bloodlust (power). I’ve taken screenshots below to show you how much crit chance you will have with both. The purpose of this build is to be able to take executioner alongside Eagle runes to have an extra 25% damage when the target is below 50% hp. Alongside with 100% crit chance and 119%+ crit damage. I am missing a fractal backpack so you can actually get 1-2% extra more crit chance/damage. You can run shortbow if you’d for mobility but s/d if used correctly has so much more burst potential and a great weapon set to use to strip the boons off of those tanky players.

Below is the picture of my crit chance and stats with 25 stacks of bloodlust which is at (85% crit chance) and with 25 Stacks of Perception (I get 97% crit chance). Now the traits that I have selected are Side Strike which adds 7% chance to crit and an additional 5% crit chance from keen observer which adds your crit chance to (92-97% crit chance) with bloodlust stacks. With Perception you will get (104%-109% crit chance). If you add fury it you can have up to 130% crit chance with full perception stacks and full ascended.

My rotation usually consists of starting out in S/D and using 2,5, going behind and using tactical strike and dazing for 3 seconds, while they are dazed I use balisk venom, and do a cloak and dagger and steal then immediatly swap to d/p and land a backstab (This removes the need to use d/d in your weapon set for the burst). By now most of enemies are low hp or downed. If they are not; I usually use shadow shot to keep up and apply pressure with 1, if I see they are using a heal; I headshot to put their heal on Cooldown and continue till they are downed. You can now swap to S/D to cloak and dagger for a stealth stomp and get your stacks for your weapons.

This build allows for you to have 25% extra damage while your opponent is below 50% hp which is a lot; most of my backstabs are 7-10k meanwhile I have the ability to regen and stealth at all times. This build is the outline of the stealth build; but can be optimized to your own liking. Post mug nerf I used to run 10/30/20/10/0 and it allowed me to kill almost anyone in a full combo. The mug is still a nice trait to run and allows you to not only heal yourself if you need but apply a extra 2k+ instant burst to your combo. With the strength stacking and the 25 stacks of bloodlust I’m usually around 3400-3600 power while having 119% crit damage. It’s a very fun build that allows you to apply so much pressure to your opponent; and if you need can always back out and reset.

Speed has three things that make it up:

• Reaction Speed – How long it takes you to realize something is happening that requires a reaction.
• Decision Speed – How long it takes you to decide what you want to do about it.
• Action Speed – How long it takes you to do the action required.

That game pretty much eliminates Decision and Action speed all together. It also simplified Reaction speed by making the stimuli expected. Guild Wars 2 requires that you know exactly what skill you need to use against that stimuli and most skills will have a cast time. You also have to move your finger to the button required. There’s ways to reduce it, but really, anything less than 3/4 is nigh impossible to react to effectively, let alone interrupt.

There are so many things in this game that are instant cast so you literally have no time to react as you have no forewarning as what is going to happen; you just have to guess as to their next move and anticipate a lot.

As for Ag. This build is only viable if your goal is to rip boons and troll and /laugh. This build has no point. You can’t kill anyone in under 5 minutes and by then there is already backup while makes you useless. Jumper barely dies once a game if that; so what would be the point of having less damage and not being able to train/down opponents. Don’t forget that for you to “possibly” kill one bunker will take 5-10 minutes and matches are 15 minutes long. Show us a video of it being useful and then we’ll see. Theory does not equal practical. Till then keep practicing and maybe you’ll advance from clicking to play.

Arena net devs don’t reply in Thief forums. Their last reply was like 3 months ago. Meanwhile necros nerfed (and still op as kitten) and they get 100+ Dev replies and asking for suggestions. The quote “We care about all classes equally” is complete and utter bullkittenkitten

Even if it was made in a joking manner (because the patch for necros ruined the meta and high level tpvp play) if anything does happen Arena net would be held liable and they don’t want that. I said that, from scraps, it would be at BEST 900, assuming you got a ticket scrap from every single chest.
900 is a terrible value, and in reality it will be far more expensive still.

I agree but if you got a Black Lion Weapon Ticket you’d only be paying 450 tickets. But it’s all if’s and buts. So ya 900 gems for a skin at the cheapest. kittening stupid.

So how is it 900 gems for a single weapon skin? It says it can cost 1 Black Lion Weapon Ticket or 10 Black Lion Weapon Ticket Scraps. Both come from Black lion chests.
