I’d like to see as well, I got to 104% crit chance (109% if you count sigil) with fury.
The options I see is: Revert it back to the way it was or
-Increase the range to 1200 on Trickshot
-Increase It’s activation time (Or better yet; fix the bug since it’s not 0.25)
-Increase the Damage.
You know what the sad thing about this is OP? Arena net will probably change 1/9 of these things in the next two months. Then you can quote me to say I was right.

4.) Trick Shot- the recent nerf hit the SB hard, and Trick Shot was already weak before the nerf.

9.) Last Refuge – Never mind that the trait isn’t very good anyway due to Stealth’s lack of defensive utility, but in many situations it actually screws up theThief’s tempo and often acts more as a curse than a boon.
2) Pistol Pistol needs major revamping of skills/traits.
3) Stealth issue I totally agree with.. I don’t see how you go invisible (meaning they can’t see you) and for example unload/volley continues to track you WHILE YOU"RE INVISIBLE and hit you. Also sucks if they proc Kill shot and you’re out of dodges..
4)Sad what they did to trick shot, hopefully they do something about its activation time/range/damage
5) Traps are not viable at all except for trolling in Jumping Puzzle
6)Pistol whip needs its 15% damage loss back

Unload is probably the lowest damage of all the dual skills. Due to how protection/toughness work in lowering damage.
Pretty sure it does more damage than, Pistol whip – as PW you can move out 1/2 way through the cast, it does more damage than DB, as for Flanking strike that’s 50/50. So no, it’s one of the highest if not the highest damage weapon sets in the game

I totally support this. Complete nerf, activation time is still no where near close to what it says and now it almost never hits.

If WvW ever gets ANYTHING, they will make sure it’s also available to PvE players. The same can not be said the other way around. It’s likely you will always have to PvE to get the new hotness.
100% Agree.. Drop rate is complete garbage.. 1 hour of farming CoF on my berserker warrior I profit like 4-6 gold. I’ll average it out to 10 gold per 2 hours. I did WvW last night for about 5 hours and made about 2 gold if that.. I also run with a great group so we got a lot of kills.. WvW has garbage drop rates, the badges we get cannot purchase any ascended pieces (earrings/rings/necklace/backpiece) nothing really. It’s all in PvE, so much for them saying if you want you can do WvW and keep up with PvE.. My kittening kitten

Arena net has stated that they want to increase the base on some attacks and they still want thieves to be able to burst down a class..

Dancing dagger
Pistol Whip
Damage be increased or reverted as combined with quickness as they were overpowered. Due to the nerf I think it’s fair they get looked at once again.
Shortbow Trick Shot, the fact that it can be dodged from just strafing right and left make it severely nerfed, is it possible to increase the speed to it’s activation time (0.25 as it’s stated and its 0.95+) or at least increase the range to be up to par with the rangers shortbow?

Why should my auto attacks fail to hit with a ranged weapon from them just sidestepping?
We wish we knew. If anything I was hoping they’d fix the speed of Trick Shot, instead they nerf it.

Yeah i don’t understand this nerf either, but trick shot is completely non-viable right now. It misses ANY target that’s moving.

Some guy was said that cloak and dagger isn’t for stealth but it’s a attack we should use.. Ya let’s waste 6 initiative for fun. >.<", when your 1 skill in dagger/sword are much more effective that using another 5 and being revealed. If that’s all this buff does; this is a really stupid change.
Can you please make these skills 0.5 delay with no recovery like they are intended instead of 1.11.

When I tested it, it was 0.95. The time it says on Trick shot is 0.25. Arena net nerfs Trickshot without even looking at its activation time. Smart.
Shortbow was perfectly balanced as it was, and now we are getting nerfed for what? Trickshot is completely useless, the projectile is too slow and it doesn’t even require a dodge to evade it, sidestepping does the trick.
What is the reasoning behind this nerf? I have played thief for a long time, and I have yet to hear a single complaint about SB. Mug nerf is fine by me, change on flanking strike is awesome, but really, couldn’t we just get a damage nerf (which is also not needed I think, but ok), or make it hit one less target? Because now we are hitting nothing. At least increase the projectile speed then.
It’d be good if it shot faster and to what the time it said.. 1/4 lol. not even close.

The problem here is this: Anet is creating PvE contents that would require players to deal an insane amount of damage — but — Anet don’t want players to bring that insane amount of damage from PvE to WvW — yet — they refuse to separate the two.
This problem has nothing to do with the profession and definitely nothing to do with Mug.
Either Anet stop creating high-end contents, which PvE players will get bored fast and may leave the game if they haven’t already, or accept the consequences in WvW. Or swallow their pride and separate PvE and WvW.
Why they keep aggravating their player-base is what I don’t understand.

Anet just needs to flatten out (not lower) Thief damage, remove the ridiculous spikiness that backstab builds can attain. No class should be able to deal out 20k+ damage in the blink of an eye. Anet should increase damage for sword/dagger/pistol auto attacks.
Although I understand why thiefs are upset, if you can evade most thief builds initial burst, they are pretty easy to kill… Unfortunately for Anet there is no way to please everyone..
They said in the State of the game Video that they still want Thieves to remain the class that can output the most burst. I’m sad that Mug can’t crit anymore, but oh well; have to adapt.

Instead of calling someone on poor grammar (pretty standard when you run out of arguments) due to it being their second or third language, just own up that you’ve been found out that it was frenzy and not typical mug damage.
We get that you obviously would like to see the thief nerfed. Try to use more reliable information in your next attempt.

That would ruin one of the core ideas behind WvW. It no longer becomes a moneysink if you remove those. Waypoints are already free.
I agree with this. We also have the outmanned buff which at times is nice, I think if they do anything; they should increase the drop rates of WvW.

MuG is slightly OP. if you drop the base dmg by 20%. you will see the top end go from 6500 ish to about 4500ish. and thats top end makign norms 3800. which i think is fair. these crit buids add 250% total crit. which means if 6500 is high end…. means your only doing 2600 ish non crit as absolute max. which means the range is roughly 1000 -2600 dmg. and thats 2600 max dmg non crit as 30 30 0 0 10 with full zerk etc. so now…after the patch its going to do about 1500 on average. if u think its op…..we will agree. but what he is showing you is lies/propaganda. it can be proven. now what i suggest is drop the high end (of non crit) to like 2000 or 1900….making the max4250 with a crit (x2.5 for the 250% crit increase) . better way of dealing with somethin op.

I’m really liking this discussion, I’d hope some Anet devs would look and give us some feedback on these ideas.
A warrior and engi both have access to frenzy which makes them take 50% increased damage. Guaranteed they were using those abilities since I have used mug countless times and the highest I’ve ever had it hit against anything was 8k against someone who dropped me a lvl 1 white in wvw.
I don’t recall the warrior, but I definitely know the engineer was not, he was running away so he only vigor/speed buff.
Conditions to possibly pull-off an 11k non-critical dmg Mug;
- Full zerker + Rubies
- At least 30/30/x build
- Based on 2nd screeny – 24 stack of Bloodlust
- Target must have 2500 or less armor rating (not possible against 2600)I can accept that it’s possible — but that’s not solely Mug’s fault that Mug deals that much damage now is it?

@Pentalic.5409 – I lost so many pictures when I formatted; but I’m sure I managed a 19k backstab on a level 80 ranger lol.
Back when I ran around WvW in full zerker, 25 stacks of Bloodlust and food I managed a 26k crit on an upleveled player. I know there’s a huge difference in WvW and sPvP just like there’s a difference between upleveled players and lvl 80’s, but that’s the highest single hit on a player that I’ve ever seen xD

Make flanking strike a non-chain skill, increase the damage to dancing dagger and pistol whip. They were nerfed because the combination with quickness made them very powerful.
I rest my case – i’m a glass canon thief myself wearing full berzerker build and never got hit that hard by mug in WvW.
If it’s not the level it’s the gear.
I don’t care about mug nerf, as a matter of fact i believe it’s the right move considering it comes along with a slight bunker nerf (except for BM rangers…)

I also have a level 80 berserker warrior. :S But sure, you’re right Mug is highly underpowered.

First this is WvW…
Second, I’m not sure mug WvW crits against lvl20 casuals running around with lvl10 white and blue gearis relevant when it comes to balance.
Both of those crits were done on level 80’s. The first one was a warrior, and the second was a engineer. Nice try.
What do you think of increasing the AoE cap to 7-10? Because if it’s removed, everyone will play a AoE build and everything would be severely considered overpowered. You could stun a zerg of 40 lol. That doesn’t make sense.
