Accomplishments in PvP are rewarded with finishers based on rank. It would be awesome if this could be translated over to WvW, with relevant finishers for the tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc) introduced for the WvW scene.
Currently, there is no way to display your rank to comrades, only enemies (your rank is shown in place of your name). There are titles available for both PvP and PvE accomplishments. This would be another welcomed addition to WvW.
If you’ve spent the time and effort to earn a certain rank, you should get humble bragging rights! :P
Anet if yer determined to get yer precious gem sales then you won’t need to worry because instead of this stupid down state for PvP/WvW for finishers, make the finisher pop up when you kill someone.
Mistake #1: bringing Anet, Gems, and finishers into the mix. It really just muddles the suggestion and makes this thread look trolly.
If you’re dead, you’re dead. You took a Killshot to the face with full endurance you deserve to stay dead. Remove downed state and make finisher proc from a kill not an execute.
Mistake #2: “If you’re dead, you’re dead,” is very true. Downed state is not dead. If I “took a kill shot to the face” and you didn’t stomp me before I rallied, clearly you either took too long or were unable to… in which case I would most certainly deserve to rally.

Mistake #3: The repetitive use of the troll spelling of “you’re” and “your,” makes this thread sound almost more trolly than mistake #1.
Mistake #4: the forum code of conduct reads:
- Read the forum before asking a question. There’s a good chance your question has already been answered.
- Use the search function before posting. This will focus the discussion and facilitate a response.
- Avoid frivolous and duplicate postings.
- Do not submit “trolling” posts or threads.

It handled this same suggestion quite well and didn’t violate any of the above, also, since it existed before this thread did, this one is a duplicate.
As the dev team considers this for use in PvP and WvW, certain server logic needs to be present in order for the system to not be abused for an individual to gain an unreasonable advantage.
Consider the following:
If an individual were in WvW (or PvP for that matter), would it only require they be out of combat to switch to another saved build? Consider a glass thief fighting a warrior, the thief need only to exit combat to switch to a completely different build (a regen/evade build). This would be an unfair advantage.
The argument against this may be that currently traits can be changed out of combat as well, but the issue here with this new proposition is the speed at which an individual could completely change their build.
Possible Solutions:
WvW:
- The whole build can only be swapped while under the effects of Determind (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Determined)
- Build can only swapped after X seconds of being out of combat, i.e. 60 seconds OOC before swapping an entire saved build.
PvP:
- Buff added to spawn area similar to wvw, behaves as mentioned above. (This could add the possibility of an invulnerable individual ranging enemies just beneath/outside the spawn area. The buff could be applied in such a way that damage can neither be taken nor applied.
- There is always the option to only allow a complete build swap while in the pvp lobby, but this might be inconvenient in some instances. This may be the best option though, as the first pvp option also encourages the “AFK at spawn” appearance.
In my opinion this feature should be, and seems to be, more of a convenience and game play quality enhancement rather than an opportunity for abuse.
Great idea though, I run several builds depending on the task and it’s awful having to remember them or write them down xD.
Sigil Stacks cleared on waypoint use or upon entering the water.
This is only occurring since today’s patch and there was no mention in the patch notes of any intended changes.
I know there was a bug where you could stack 2 sigil stacking weapons by swapping it in the water, however, in this case, the weapon which gave the stacks has not been removed.

- What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag? Skill lag, rubber-banding, etc.
- Skill lag, and also the animations playing at the time that it begins will continue to repeat themselves. When the lag ends all the events that took place while skills were unresponsive get played back at a highly accelerated rate. I don’t rubber-band on my own screen, nor do I on my party/friends’ screen. I.e. they would tell me not to move so I didnt move myself out of the ring.

- Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
- Not sure.
- Do you experience the lag at very specific times? For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg. If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
- It has nothing to do with zerging, can happen when alone or in a small group

Remember the chaos storm bug… 18k-60k hits, that was gamebreaking and they fixed that quite fast. But now when our illusions are totally useless against anyone that is using stealth, totally normal…
It took weeks until that was fixed. Just sayin’.

Guildie just tried this in pvp with me, I can confirm the clones disappear on the enemy going into stealth (without being shattered or killed).
Not sure what you’re referencing in relation to mesmer…. mesmer doesn’t have a skill that stealths when you attack.
Maybe the solution to both of these questions is really an issue of platform rather than anything else. Forums are definitely good for fostering discussion, but might not be so good for this in-depth of a collaboration effort.
It would be cool if there was a page (outside the forums) where we could post suggestions (word limited) and be able to up/down vote. From there, the GW2 team could take the top up voted suggestions or others of interest and do shorter CDI runs on the forum, again with a limit. Personally, I didn’t participate in any of the CDIs so far because whenever I tried to check it out it all looked a little… eh, you know what I mean!
If you had a separate page with up/down votes, it would be easy to see what has already been suggested too, I know there were a lot of repeats in the CDI threads now and then.
If not that, make a page that just gets updated so we don’t have to fish through the thread to find the summary!

lmao, guess I never noticed the final cut… should all be listed as a single unified listing fee.
Today I sold 250 ectos (and of course paid the listing fee). They were sold at 36s 80c, which should have rendered ~92g…. however when I went to collect the gold there was only ~82g available.
There are no outstanding ectos to be sold, no gold was collected from the trading post in the meantime, so my question is, where exactly did the other 10g go? O.o
I just updated to a new computer…. GTX 760 3gb and an i5, I’m getting 30-50 fps in Lion’s Arch (Was getting 20 and below previously though, but that was on the Mac Beta). Elsewhere I get 120-180.
Maybe you need to fine tune your graphics card?
Support doesn’t replace items, so I’ll be shocked if they do this for you :O let us know, I’m curious for sure.
Honestly, there’s so many issues with the mac client (optimization etc.), that I’m just buying a PC. O_O

Finally, the tgUpdate version 1.11 completed and the GW2 launcher downloaded/installed a small amount of files (~10MB).
Didn’t fix anything.

Maybe the tech support person who works on issues like this after hours, should have an official admin/forum account and could keep people posted?
Also, my camera rotation is still broken. Rotating the camera with the mouse is extremely fast, even with in-game setting set to lowest (obviously not in-game setting problem).
Changing the resolution of the client and then reverting it usually fixes the mouse problem for me.

I just noticed this today in WvW. #1 on greatsword for mesmer no longer works on an underwater target if you are above ground. It used to work, just like ranger’s bow and warrior’s bow/rifle still work. Was this an accidental change, if not, why was it not in the patch notes for mesmer ever?
With the addition of Tomes of Knowledge to the PvP reward area, I think this suggestion could be possibly implemented with a similar structure…
Skill Points + Gold for a tome. More friendly for players that don’t PvP. Right now having it only in PvP is a bit exclusive to people who don’t venture there much… like WvW players, and even some PvE players.

2 things:
1. Any mesmer in a combat situation knows that illusions are not up for very long…. on any build.
2. Illusions and phantasms are not considered the same in skills/traits.
So really, this just fills the gaping hole in the mesmer class…. generally there has been no passive heal at all, like most other classes have.

Your experience on one profession means nothing on another.
That’s the point, if you have 5 characters, each of a different class, you most likely want to explore other classes. Anyone who has leveled at least one character to 80 knows that this milestone is only the beginning of the game. The understanding and skill required to play a class comes long after reaching level 80.
For someone with this understanding and extra skill points, it would make sense to decrease the 1-80 grind (since the primary source of skill points are from the continued gain of experience).
And just like your experience on one or more profession(s) means nothing on another…. The ability to grind 1-80 also means absolutely nothing about your skill on that character. An example of this from my own experience is that my first character was a necro, which I got to 80 very easily, but you wouldn’t catch me dead playing it.

I did the above suggested steps and still have the same issue, I’ve attached a screen shot so you know exactly what the issue is…. I logged in to check and the trading post is working, seems to be unique to the gem store for sure.

The utility of skill points, in their current state, greatly degrades late-game; especially after you are geared.
For those of us with 200, 300, 400, or (I’ve even seen) 500 extra skill points, I’m sure we wish we could use them somehow. If you have played for that long on a single character, it would be helpful to have those points count for something…. on a different character.
The Tome of Knowledge is a book that will grant you one level to a character. If you could spend your excess skill points on one, it would be extremely helpful for those that have multiple 80’s to be able to explore a new class without having to grind yet another 1-80.
10 or 15 skill points sounds reasonable. Meaning you would have leveled up a level 80 10 or 15 additional times to obtain 1 Tome of Knowledge.

After updating today (Fractured!), I am unable to access the Gem Store. Sometimes this happens on the mac client I’m aware, but the TP is still able to be used and the tabs of the gem store are displayed, just none of the items and it displays the yellow/gold loading animation. Tried restarting, but with no success.
Of course people are overreacting!

With so many living world events and the ability to “watch” achievements, the UI located in the top right can become very cluttered and obtrusive in the viewing pane.
Additionally, there are many players in GW2 who are mainly PvP or WvW players who will occasionally venture into pve for a guild event or Living World event(s). These users will probably never access their personal story, but they should have the choice whether or not to display it.
I propose that a toggle option be added in the options menu “Hide Storyline,” to remove the ever present green star from the UI and world map.

Hi LuSilver – There’s no reports as far as I’m aware in regards to any issues with the BlackGate server. Your best bet would be to submit a ticket to our support department so our tech team can take a look.
J Season – The response times should definitely not take that long. It’s possible it may have ended up in the wrong place? If you’re still waiting on a response, ping me your ticket number and I’ll see what’s going on with that.
I did end up getting a response yesterday. I was told there is no issue with the service (even though the disconnect threads are now popping up by the numbers in the tech forum, a week after I began experiencing issue and contacted support) and that I’m out my items.

After having had a very good experience the last couple of months, the extreme lag returns once more. Rubber-banding all over the place. As usual, not an isp issue but something with your servers, yet again.

That’s funny, I reported server connectivity issues over a week ago including the associated item loss which occurs if you get dropped moments after adding an item to your inventory. Anet told me “too bad, so sad, there aren’t any issues with our service.”
Good to see a mod replied to this thread, and is looking into it, too bad support wasn’t so kindly towards my tickets.
I’ve been having this issue too, I submitted two separate tickets, and only got a response on one (been 5 days on the 2nd). Check your inventory as well… my associated issue (second ticket) was that items acquired moments before a disconnect were missing from my inventory upon reconnection.
Runs on both my Macs with Mavericks.

Regarding item loss after being dropped by the server, was updated twice upon being dropped again and experiencing further item loss from inventory.

I’m assuming you’re speaking of the Gift recipes, and not the precursor recipes said to be released in the future at some point (next year sometime is the latest eta I believe). I wouldn’t think the Gift recipes would shift requirement levels at all. Crafting a gift for a legendary is very different than crafting a precursor itself, which will most likely require 500.
A crafted Gift is only a piece of a much larger puzzle. Crafting a gift for a legendary is indeed “less awesome” than an ascended weapon, since it is useless unless it is combined to create a legendary weapon.

I mentioned this in another issue earlier today, but I did go ahead and make it a separate ticket, since it is definitely a separate issue than what my other ticket was about. Not sure this is the same as Veron has described, I have experienced that too, but I’ve always been able to move even when that occurs, and the graphical loss is not the same. I was using the mystic forge and my client crashed upon accepting an item! now when I log in it gives me no ui, character, control, or movement!
how to fix??
FlamingFoxx’s solution fixes virtually any mac client issue. +1
I have an iMac 27’’ and use the native Mac Client. I don’t ever experience any issues of note. I did once have an issue with the client not launching. However, as with any Mac application, just delete the preferences in the application support folder and it works just like new (but you most likely won’t ever need to do this).
I wouldn’t see a benefit to running the Windows client on Parallels. I do use parallels, just not for GW, performance is always better on an OS working natively with its intended hardware.

Orion is correct, you will need to have done enough damage to the gate to get credit for the achievement.
Except none of the developers seem to have read any of the threads in the bug forum. This is incorrect. One can ram a gate down by themselves and not receive an advancement in the achievement. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Bugs-Affecting-Season-1-Achievement-Progress
Still experiencing these same issues and still no response from the DEV team on a fix.
Using a ram by yourself on a gate also bugs, as I did not receive advancement for doing so last night.

- Advanced Mists Invasion Defender When fighting an enemy zerg for the first time of the night, I easily got my full 25 sigil stacks, however my progression for the killing of enemy invaders was only 11, later in the night I got 25 stacks again in one shot, and only received 17 additional kills for the Season 1 achievement.
All kills are not players maybe? Like guards, etc …
It was Zerg vs Zerg in open ground…. no guards or previous stacks, good thought though!
