Juggernaut chromatic effect not working

Jammypack.3018

Just crafted Juggernaut the old fashioned way (not with Legendary Mastery) on my revenant. When I unsheathe it my armor just turns dark. I tried it with various dyes and armor skins – all the same. I ran around the wilderness and noticed that the chromatic effect kicked in when i got hit by a mob while running past it, so it’s sort of working, although even then it looks the same after trying various dyes, armor skins.

I just spent a LOT of money and time on this, and not a+ super happy satisfied customer.

Story mode is snipped, which is nice, but still a miserable experience – especially the Orr quests.

Suggestion: if you’re going to arbitrarily throw waves of trash mobs at us with useless npc’s and painful mechanics (I’m looking at you, Starving the Beast quest) have the decency to not remove loot drops.

Here’s to hoping whatever is in store for the personal story in HoT is improved.

Mesmer Illusions in TA and Arah

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Jammypack.3018

Jammypack.3018

Mesmer weapon skills have lower damage coefficients to account for supplemental damage from either shatters or phantasms. To remove those sources is a detrimental bug that needs corrected. It does the same to Ranger pets and Necro minions.

Being able to support during boss fights (and dropping Time Warp I don’t consider being supportive) doesn’t justify having a class mechanic completely broken for a “mini-boss”.

You also don’t seem to realize that damage output from Guardian scepter is higher than the other options save greatsword. Pvp, it’s ineffective and easily strafed. However, pve mobs aren’t nearly as bright.

I think what you are not grasping here is that my post had nothing to do with saying that scepter doesn’t have decent weapon damage, or that evolverzillas point that shatters are in integral point of mesmer damage. Both cases are true.

However, there are certain places in dungeons where the mechanics dictate that the damage mainstay of a class’ build are either not viable or not recommended, and even some situations where you can only defeat a boss using non-conventional attacks, such as the Legendary Jotun Stargazer.

Point is, these are not bugs, they are encounters which are designed to have players think and react differently.

Only AA players use AA. Good players swap to melee in TA bubbles. And then do a lot of damage using other skills and not only ilusion bomb.

You are neglecting the fact that the majority of mesmer dps comes from phantasams or shattering.

In these cases, the majority of mesmer damage comes from Feedback and other players by way our Time Warp.

Every class has certain challenges in dungeons that force them from their usual dps dumps. Ask any good Guardian when he’s forced to switch to scepter or staff if all he does is Pew-n-Q about not being his usual spinny self and he’ll tell you he’s using his support utilities to their fullest and enjoying every minute of it.

We (mesmers) aren’t always on top of the dps charts but we sure can help the group be incredibly more efficient at boss encounters in most situations.

Arah Path 4 Simin bug - please fix

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Jammypack.3018

Jammypack.3018

Last night my usual dungeon group tried Arah Path 4. Everything was smooth as silk until we reached Simin. Started the event, got her down to around 50%, then she stealthed. We kited the sparks back in a very short amount if time, and she reappeared at around 55%. Dropped a Time Warp and started to fight her again – only to have her stealth like 5 seconds later at 50%. This repeated like 6 or 7 times, until we decided to reset the event. Same thing happened another 5 times until we finally quit. It seems there is something that borks her stealth timer and instead forces a reset at 50%, meaning she is basically invincible. We even tried the 4-1 method, leaving one spark and allowing her to heal to 100%, then dps’ing her until stealth, immediately having one person kite the remaining spark within seconds, only to have her stealth after 1 or 2 seconds of fighting – oddly enough when she was at 50%.

I looked on the dungeon forums and, although it’s not something that happens 100% of the time, we are not the only ones experiencing this issue. I really hope you find the time to fix this soon – the fact that it takes so long just to get to this boss makes even taking the chance that it won’t bug out and trying to do Path 4 prohibitive. Nobody in the group wants anything to do with it until there is an official confirmation that the issue has been addressed, regardless of how much we otherwise love the dungeon.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thanks in advance for any attempts to rectify the issue.

So in there there’s a statue of Lyssa, which when contested has that ridiculous perma-stun chaos storm going on.

Fun.

Also, there are a LOT LOT more fun risen in there, particularly the Guardian Bow dudes that immobilize you and the new Super Fun Time nobles that have those really fun and challenging wells with the super incredibly ungodly fun amounts of damage.

Add to that a respawn rate that funly (I made up a word, deal) negates any reason at all to even attempt to fight things since you are having way too much fun already standing there dazed and contemplating how much fun you’re having.

And this is all without Mister Fun Eyeball of Fun even showing up, which I can’t even imagine how fun that would be. It would probably break the fun-o-meter.

Needless to say, after my buddy and I were trying to do that exploration map-completion thing (you know, the one you guys always say you are so hip to) and wiped 7 times in a row, the fun became overwhelming and we had to stop for the night.

I can only say this – Thank you developers for the super fun changes you made in this last patch – the risen, the krait, the annihlation of a perfectly good skill that was in use since release, the guesting-chesting… and kudos to the the courage to adhere to the old addage “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it – unless it’s more fun!”. I wish I could only somehow grant you as much fun you as we had this evening so you would really understand just how much fun it was.

Know what’s fun now? Using Cloak and Dagger on a mob, then positioning for a side strike and getting clubbed in the face and knocked down before you get your stealth attack in. This could be the worst “rebalancing” I’ve ever seen in a game that nobody even asked for. Good thing they buffed Krait though – that was a real eff’ing issue right there.

How am I meant to interpret this bolded part?

Because what you’ve said right here is not true. Mobs do not attack you while you’re in stealth. So you can still use C&D and backstab as per usual.

My reading comprehension is fine, you need to explain yourself better.

And for the record I’m not happy with the change either, thieves need buffs in PvE, not nerfs. All I originally said is it’s not the end of the world, I know I’ll be able to adapt fine.

My bad – I guess the “before you get your stealth attack in” was a bit confusing. What i meant to say was “then positioning for a side strike and getting clubbed in the face and knocked down before you get a chance to attack because you unstealth right when you’re about to attack and the mob immediately hits you at the same time you hit it”.

Lol, I prefer to see a variety of builds rather than just one standard that everyone uses.

Anyway, I agree with the majority here that this change wasn’t needed, but in saying that I don’t think it’s that drastic. Sure PvE is a little harder for us now, but I like the extra challenge and it makes me a better player in the long run now that I can’t just drop stealth and reset aggro all the time.

Time to adapt guys!

Actually no, it’s pretty freaking drastic. You’re basically saying that removing the main mechanic that makes a class that class (other than aesthetics) isn’t drastic. If you want the extra challenge of not using stealth try rolling a different class.

Know what’s fun now? Using Cloak and Dagger on a mob, then positioning for a side strike and getting clubbed in the face and knocked down before you get your stealth attack in. What the hell are you talking about?

They haven’t removed stealth, one of the main mechanics of the thief. They simply modified it so you don’t drop off the aggro table of NPCs. So you can still stealth, then backstab, whatever, but upon reappearing, the NPC will still remember you did damage to it. Previously when you used stealth, you’d lose all aggro altogether.

Sounds like you haven’t even played the game since they patched it.

Sounds like your reading comprehension is stunted.

They arbitrarily removed a mechanic that has been there from the start that basically was the centerpoint of most of it’s utility [b] and kind of the reason to use the skill itself. Did you read the title of this thread? Not only do enemies not de-aggro (i.e. walk away and begin to recover hip’s) but they are immediately aware of your position and resume attacking.

Also, Mesmer veil? Mass invis? Mostly used to de-aggro when avoiding things. Useless otherwise. And don’t start in with “oh its a pvp skill as well and yada” because the nerf had nothing to do with rebalancing pvp and all to do with Anets obsession over having its PVE player base be forced into not being able to bypass ANYTHING.

By the way – the part where you have to “hold out with the legion against the undead” – is that some sort of joke? You should rename that part “just run around and kite a buttload of respawning risen for a while and try not to die but you probably will”. Could we get maybe a timer on that? Of course not. But by all means – keep making sure food doesn’t give anyone an unfair advantage over trash mobs.

Then, when the sun has gone down and there’s not enough booze in the world to stop the tears, perhaps you can relay the answers to a few questions I had as I lolwtf’ed my way through maybe 2 minutes of it (before I finished the quest doing something else):

1 – who hunts rabbits with a bow?

2 – who hunts moving rabbits with a bow?

I found Elixer B to be quite helpful for taking Howler down, since it boosts your damage and hurts her every time she hits you.

You “managed”, eh?

Well, according to YouTube, soloing Lupi is not “impossible” either. However, we’re talking a level 10 quest here, of which no other equivalent level 10 quest boss is even remotely this difficult. Making a fight that makes people want to break things in real life at level 10 is not exactly a smooth learning curve.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I don’t think I’m the only person who ever came across this fight and thought “never again”.

Instead of adding options to people with the removal of the trinity you are directly hurting the options and forcing everyone into the same exact play style… how the devs did not see this is just amazing and it makes one wonder if they EVER actually played any other game then their own?!

There is a small, yet annoying vocal minority that throws the L2P card every time someone says “wow this is really hard”. Conversely, there is also a small and slightly less annoying vocal minority that complains every time they are confronted with something that mashing the “1” button cannot overcome. This has been the case since video games were created, which is why you don’t ever see either Anet or the bulk of the game community involved in these conversations.

. With that said, you seem to fall into the third camp which has the ridiculous and anachronistic notion that a defining mechanic that the vast majority of players are using and actually enjoying on a daily basis is actually broken. And not just broken, but to the point that the only possible explanation is that the developers just don’t know it exists, as if the dog pooped on the carpet behind the couch right before Christmas dinner and Sweet Jesus can’t you smell it? Christmas is ruined forever.

I understand that the developers decided not to implement mounts in the game, and i’m totally OK with that. But from just a game-environment perspective, seriously – where are all the horses?

I honestly don’t remember seeing one horse in the whole world. There’s a bajillion centaurs running around – where did they come from if horses don’t exist? There’s also carts everywhere in most cities, towns and garrisons, but not one horse. Did the humans hunt them to extinction? Did the centaurs?

And on the topic of mounts – and again i’m not talking about player-mounts – the Dredge have troop transports and the Azura have submarines and airships and tanks and whatnot. Didn’t any of them ever say to themselves Hey what if I put this tank engine on a cart I bet it would be faster than running to the lab?

Don’t get me wrong, it makes for a very cardio-vascular-ly healthy Tyria, but there had to be some lazy person like me wondering what the point of all this walking was and strapped some wheels and an engine or a saddle on something at some time or another.
