Okay so I tried this again today. This time, no huge packs of mobs in the courtyard. Instead, there was a huge pack of Vigil npcs running amok! Needless to say it was very easy, as a result.
I’m level 80 and I can’t do this. The instant I come down into the courtyard DOZENS of mobs spawn and all of the friendly npcs are dead. The mobs run around in large packs, seemingly at random, one-shotting npcs. The completion bar does not move. Trahearne does not follow me.
The sonic cannon was destroyed by mobs early on.

Could someone give me a good argument as to how landbased mounts would ruin the game? Yes, I love the empasis on exploration. And little encapsulates the sense of exploring new lands as well as doing so on horseback/with your trusty mount. Currently you either waste gold on waypoints (c’mon Anet, not even a 1hr CD hearthstone?), or you waste time running through zones.
Landbased mounts (say, +50% runspeed) would be a welcome addition.
This is already known. The mere existence of Necrid Horsemen proves it. Why would anyone want to ride a horrid, necromantic horror is beyond me.
Eh heh… hehe….
Happened to me again today, this is the fourth day it’s happened, so that’s four awards of the day missed. -.-
There are many posts on the bug see below links. Issue seems to effect players with transmuted armor. They try and dye sections and the dye reverts to dye remover when they close the dye pallet. It’s been raised countless times and still no response even to say if its being looked at….Its been a good few months waiting for this to be fixed.
Anet never posts replies in the sticky thread section for art issues so posting again.

Thanks for posting, I also have this issue. Dyes on Sheepskin cultural armour keep reverting to the original brown colour. I change the dyes and every time I close the palette they just change back.
Oh man. :<
Thanks for the info. I had seen other similar threads but wasn’t sure they were describing the same issue (one was about chest not being lootable on a specific day, etc).
Happened AGAIN today, missed out on the reward of the day. The chest is just empty sometimes doing the first run of the day. No one else having this bug?
Will you also add the animation that the Pop Guns of the Toy Soldiers have? That would be great.
Yes, this change will allow pop guns to fire corks instead of bullets. :-)
Thanks so much. I’m really looking forward to the animations and sounds for the pop gun skin.
Just did todays jump puzzle opened the chest and received nothing at all, did the puzzle again and the chest gave nothing again.
Just put it on the Gem store and let players buy it, I don’t care if its rare or the most common pet going, I just want it for the look.
Here’s the point of “rare” items:
1) Rare means it’s something that not everyone can have.
2) If it were in the Gem Store, it would no longer be considered “rare”, since everyone can easily purchase it via Gems from Gold or Gems from $.
3) The fact that you don’t care if it’s rare or not proves you have a desire to have one. That same desire could be shared by many other players as well. And the reason why it’s desirable by many is because Foostivoo is both cute and RARE.The reason Foostivoo is desirable is has nothing to do with rarity. Being rare does not really play into it. I mean, it’s pixels. The only scarcity here is false.
Collectors will want to collect it regardless of rarity because Collect All The Things. People who like quaggans will want it regardless of rarity because quaggan.
People who think it’s cute will want it regardless of rarity because cute.Anet is ticking off some significant fraction of all those groups, judging by how many people have posted about being irritated by this. ANet is not winning points with people who have gotten it, judging by how there are no threads celebrating getting the mini quaggan (I did see some posts in the general Wintersday screenshot thread). ANet is turning down money from some percentage of their players who would like to give it to them. Maybe the numbers from exploiting impulsive rich people make up for it, but I frankly don’t think it’s a wise business decision.
I’m not sure why ANet doesn’t just make the minis unbound and call it a day. Then they still have the gamble boxes to exploit impulse buyers, but people with bad luck can at least get them on the TP.
Agreed!
I agree that paying money just for a CHANCE at minipets is over the top and the system could be handled better. The store should be more of a shortcut, where you can pay to get pets/outfits that you otherwise have to grind for. I liked WingOfAsgard’s suggestion of having the minipets also be purchaseable for high amounts of ugly wool clothes or similar. It feels better to grind/work for a reward in a game than just to dish out on a gamble, and those who don’t have time to grind could still buy the pets at the store. Free to attain boxes can have a low drop rate and that’s fine, but something you pay for should not be a gamble.
Happened again today :P ran it again afterward and the chest was lootable as usual.
Hey all, can you try changing the trait while you are running and see if you notice a difference? Visually it’s subtle.
Okay now I feel silly, I believe I can see the difference with swapping the trait out while running, like you mention.
I tried it afterwards with weapon-swapping and I believe I can see it there as well, now. Odd that the timing thing didn’t show a difference but I guess the timescale differences are small!
Every time I reach the end of the jumping puzzle and jump into the box, I get kicked out to Lion’s Arch. I’ve tried using other characters and also restarted the game, but nothing works.
Got this bug for the first time right now. Finished the puzzle, got booted out to Lion’s Arch instead of to the chest area.
I had this other bug happen yesterday.
Edit: I just tried it again. It happened again. If it happens once to you, do you get ‘stuck’ like that whenever you finish it??
Edit 2: Okay I tried three more runs and made sure to NOT touch the edges of the box but jump directly in. I can confirm what others have said about it seemingly being sliding down the box that causes this bug.

Let me clarify a few things, as there is some confusion arising from these threads:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Armor-preview-change-is-NOT-permanent
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/No-more-preview-for-all-armor-types/
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Option-to-Preview-Armors-Outside-Our-Profession/As part of an overall improvement to armor previewing we have had to temporarily disable the ability to see armors outside your class. We are working towards updating the system as whole.
We did intend to remove the armor preview temporarily in order to fix issues and improve functionality. So currently, yes, you cannot preview armors outside your own profession—this is only a temporary situation while we work on updates to this system.
We’re sorry about all the confusion in the previous threads.
We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your patience while the team works on this feature.
Thank you for the reply. Since previewing weapons you can’t use just to have a look at them is still possible, it made little sense that it would be intentional to not allow previewing of various armour types.
Personally I never had a problem with the armour previews prior but I’ll take your word for it that it needed improvement.
As others have pointed out, we do have alts and it’s tedious to resort to using websites that screenshot every single type of armour and trying to match names to appearances, etc.
So I’ve been running the jumping puzzle daily, and right now the chest is not lootable for me! I can open it, but then I cannot loot it. No icon appears and pressing f/double clicking does nothing. I’ve tried moving off and moving back, and waiting until the chest closes again. Nothing.
Any ideas? Since this was my first succeeded run today, I’ll miss out on the daily loot
Has this ever been addressed? I can confirm that Quickening Thirst does NOTHING. No increase in runspeed whatsoever with daggers either on mainhand, offhand, or both. (Tried without Signet of the Locust and with.)
Another thread dealing with this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Necromancer-Trait-Quickening-thirst
They intentionally took it away.
It’s still a bad idea, imo, and I don’t see the point. It’s not like we don’t have alts, so of course I want to be able to see what that armour looks like without having to tab out and use one of the sites that take screenshots of every single armour-type and try to figure out via the item description which it is.
Yes, please remove this silly restriction. I DO have alts, and I want to check that armour out without having to tab out and check a website that takes screenshots of every single armour look in the game. <.<
Downloading now at over 2mb/s! Come on guys, a few minutes of delay isn’t bad.
Same :P
(Message length and stuff)
This seriously confuses me. Why do the body-types for the human females that look like they have more body-fat have far smaller breasts than the thinner body types?
Across the board the breasts get bigger as the waists get smaller. The smaller the breasts the wider the waist, and the most “heavy”-looking bodies have by far the smallest breasts.
Is this a bug? Surely it should be the other way around. Most of the time irl, more bodyfat leads to larger breast sizes because breasts are 90% fat. Ofc they can still keep that one barbie build w the tiny waist and huge knockers, I’m not saying they should remove it, but the thinner the body gets the smaller the breasts should get in general. Right now it’s the opposite.
I’m including some screenshots for reference, in order:
- the most “heavy”-set build, front and side
- the default (ie first) build, front and side
- the hourglass figure build, front and side
- the only thinner build with smaller breasts, front and side
- the most muscular build, front and side
You’ll see the breast sizes decrease with increasing waist-size across the board. The only builds this makes sense for is the most muscular build (strong core muscles lead to a broader waist) and for crowd-pleasing purposes the hourglass-figure build.

We will give you more details once we get closer to the event, but wanted to give you an early heads up so you can plan accordingly.
While I think these types of events are insanely awesome, and I would never discourage ANet from doing them, I have to say that for those of us who actually have responsibilities and such, these limited events suck!
I’m glad that the content will be available past these events, but I wish there was some way of structuring these (or at least spacing them out) so those of us who can’t dedicate an entire weekend to Guild Wars 2, still have a chance to catch some of the coolness.
I agree, I think these events should run for a BIT more than 3 days for these very reasons.
Agree with OP, I had a lot of fun with “Skipping Stones” and “Mad King’s Clocktower” jumping puzzles.
Yes please! I hope they’ll add new tabs for these.
It pains me to think that all the QQing could result in no more events like this and have them go away completely or turn into some cookie cutter “heart” quest. Please continue with the one time events. Maybe change the days they happen from time to time but don’t get rid of them.
Agreed!
As far as I know, ArenaNet’s European offices are in the UK. So their EU sales are subject the VAT in UK, which seems to be at 20%.
Thanks and thanks to John Smith for responding, as well. It still leaves a 10% gap but at least I understand, now!
So the USD rate is without taxes and the Euro rate is with taxes? Is sales tax 30% in the States? o.O
The highest rates I’m finding are about 11%: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_taxes_in_the_United_States#Summary_table
Also FYI I live in a country that does not even use the Euro as currency.
(edited by Joukehainen.5148)
I strongly support purchaseable versions of some of the clothes we see NPCs wearing. I think a lot of people would buy them!
I’m frustrated with the “flat conversion” rates because the Euro rate is ~30% more expensive than the USD rate. The conversions in the store don’t take currency rates into consideration. 10 USD is NOT 10 Euros, 1 USD is equal to (currently) 0.78 Euros.
This means that Euro-users are paying the equivalent of 13 USD instead of 10 USD for 800 gems.
This means I’m paying 130% of what someone using an address that grants USD rates pays. A 30% mark-up is quite a lot if you ask me, because with the same value of money, for every three transactions the Euro-users make, a USD-user can make 4 transactions.
I’ve seen this in previous games, and it’s very annoying. In League of Legends the conversion rates use currency conversions so I don’t see why that can’t be implemented in GW2?
(edited by Joukehainen.5148)
Wow. Good point, OP, I didn’t think of it this way. That is how games with stores work, though. :P
I’m still peeved bc the Euro rate is 20% more expensive than the USD rate bc the conversions in the store don’t take rates into consideration (10USD is NOT 10 Euros :P)
I’d like to thank Anet for a very cool event. It’s evident to me they put a lot of work into it, and overall I definitely had fun! I love the look and feel of Southsun Cove and the karkas and their animations and attacks looked quite cool.
I had a lot of fun doing the “Skipping Stones” jumping puzzle (the other one was too easy!)
There was horrible lag during the opening event, to the level of being unplayable. I really recommend re-examining the overflow system and seeing if you can make some improvements – more shards, for example, might help.
However, I’m pleased to say that I felt no server lag during the final event, and my fps held at 25+ during the entire (four hour long!) final fights. I only had to turn post-processing off and turn down shadows and textures a bit.
The final event was exhausting, but in a (mostly) good way. One thing that’s a bit of a shame is the randomized loot – it’s frustrating getting things you can’t use and no one wants to trade for. But overall it was varied and kept your attention up for the marathon. The people on Piken were wonderful, bringing along kegs and banquet tables and fireworks to celebrate.
The phase 1 bug, though. Did that ever get fixed? I’d really like to finish the treasure hunt. Overall I had a lot of fun, but the lag and overflow system really needs to be addressed and improved.
Also, I really suggest having the events run a BIT longer, for a few reasons:
- More people will be playing spread over a longer period of time. This should alleviate server strain and lag on the user-end
- Longer event lengths will alleviate a lot of the panic on the forums should bugs arise, and give the devs more time to address the problem
- More people will be able to experience the events. It’s clear to me Anet puts hard work into these events – don’t they want to make sure lots of people have the chance to enjoy them?
:)
I have to say this event is confusing. It’s fine if you want to make treasure hunts with mysterious clues, but let the NPCs repeat the dialogue that gives you the information. Sometimes you click by too fast or you forget or your cat walks onto the keyboard, etc. The info should not be a one-time thing.
I’d like to point out that I did not lag in the Halloween event, and I didn’t receive fps drops during this event. But it was laggy as all hell after the attacks began (not beforehand). I have to chalk this up to server lag since my fps didn’t drop and my connection had no problem with Halloween event.
It wasn’t very fun to push a button and sit waiting, see the target disappear and a bunch of new karkas pop onscreen from out of thin air.. for an hour. :P I’m on a medium-population server and I was in the overflow.
The dynamic event “Free an Order of Whispers agent from pirates” seems to be bugged on Whiteside Ridge. None of the objectives are showing up, but the event is. I’ve been on the island with a few others and they can’t seem to get it rolling, either.
I also completed “Help Spy on the Crafty Corsairs” (the heart is filled in), but talking to Fisherman Carter just brings up the dialogue about a missing agent (can’t buy items).
Any ideas?
This event just worked! Not sure what “fixed” it but I switched servers to Piken Square and it was working there. The gate became destructible and we could break it down to rescue the Agent.
That’s exactly how it is on Whiteside Ridge, it’s stuck at 2/11 merchants and there’s no way to interact with them, and the kidnappers are invulnerable.
Soo… this has been bugged in the same way on several servers for months? o.O
I’m having this bug as well, particularly with the Flesh Golem. It’s annoying to say the least.
Anyone? This bug is still going on on Whiteside Ridge. How many things in Bloodtide Coast are bugged? -.-
Encountered this bug on Whiteside Ridge yesterday, the kidnappers just keeping running by and are invulnerable, and like drkn said the NPCs in cages can’t be interacted with.
Another dynamic event is bugged in Bloodtide, this time it’s “Defend Captain Penzan until he recovers his hidden treasure” in Remanda Saltmarsh. It’s not triggering ie doesn’t start, the NPC just stands there after you talk to him and confirm that you’ll escort him (or follow along, as he puts it).
(edited by Moderator)
Checked now and it’s still bugged, corsairs just keep respawning and the Whispers Agents just keep saying the same things. :/
Anyone know how to fix/prevent this?
Any word from Arena Net?

I think that the time that it lasted was perfect.
The fact that people are wishing that it lasted longer is indicative that it lasted just the right amount of time. If they had the event last longer it would have dragged and gotten boring.
This way people are left wanting which means that the next event will be appreciated that much more.
Yeah I know what you’re saying, but I still think it was too short, for the reasons others have listed (family obligations, work etc). Especially since there were four phases, and I was one of those that missed the first. -.-
I agree they shouldn’t go on TOO long, but I think there was a lot to do and the timeframe was a bit too short for it.
:D
Took like two days, or a few hours. The second half is so much easier than the first half – once I got past the “leap of faith” section I got it on the 3rd try. It was the kitten first half with the unreliable collisions that kept getting me. :P
This is happening to me right now. He runs behind the wall and disappears – I can’t get the item from him or talk to him. Whiteside Ridge.
Edit: I tried again after about a half hour, no dice. Still the same thing: he runs behind the wall and disappears.
