We had Halloween last year, but instead we are having another Twilight Arbor path (which may be hard as hell) with some weapon skin rewards. So we have no Halloween celebration this year?
Can anyone suggest me 10-15 dungeon paths that I can play through once per day (since there is virtually no reason to farm a single dungeon path anymore across from champion loot bags and getting fine/masterwork equips for salvaging for Essence of Luck) so that I can make the said amount of gold per day? Across from CoF p1 and p2, I was also thinking of adding Ascalonian Catacomb p3 in the list. Here are my criteria:
-can be done with a lvl 80 warrior with berserker equipment
-a lot of people do this dungeon path (for example, a lot of ppl are willing to do CoF p1, but not p3)
-quick and easy to do
The reason for this is that since the introduction of the crafting ascended equipment prices of every crafting material skyrocketed like crazy (particularly the t6 materials. Gossamer scraps used to be like 1-3s and the price was like doubled). I want to gather enough money so that I can pay for the lower tier mats myself (by my definition it’s t3-t4 and lower). The rest of the mats (t5 and higher) I’ll just gather myself. I already have 4 characters lvl 80 with exotic equipment (and 1 lvl 80 mesmer with rare equipment). So I can breeze through the Arah regions myself to get the t6 wood and ores that I need (although since the Putrifiers are a total pain in the buff since they constantly snare/drown you and forcing you to waste time killing these guys).
From what I can tell from the fan made LFG tool (which I will be phasing out of once the official LFG tool is up), not a lot of people farm CoF p1 anymore. If I want to farm CoF p1 for a particular reason, it’s normally selling the fine and masterwork equipment from the dungeon chests that spawn after either defeating bosses or doing certain timed events. But since the MF mechanic has been changed, it’s now more worthwhile to salvage the fine and masterwork items for the Essences of Luck (and I’d rather waste most of my time killing karkas to get the said fine ans masterwork items). Even so, prior to the dungeon reward revamp update, most people farmed CoF p1 as means of getting tokens to buy rares for salvaging them for ectos.
ANet is trying to encourage players to play multiple dungeon paths per day over farming a single path. It’s actually ANet’s stance to discourage farming (which ironically, there is a lot of level grinding in terms of leveling and crafting, which means farming is necessity).
From what I can tell, Citadel of Flame and Ascalon Catacombs are the most popular dungeon runs (one is for the said CoF p1 farm, and the other is for obtaining the PvT gear). I rarely see runs for higher level dungeons or CM (sans Ruined City of Arah, which is arguably the hardest dungeon).

I also want to highlight that school uniforms inherently isn’t meant to be seen as sexy, but rather a form of civil obedience to school ethics as well as pride. Not to mention, school uniforms are normally seen in religious and private schools and rarely in public schools.
Also, Japan has a weird fetish on school uniforms (particularly the female types), not only because most schools in Japan are privately owned; but Japanese have this weird fetish on girl’s school uniforms as being “cute.” So unless if introducing the school uniforms in Gem Store is seen as a “Japandering” move, it may bring wrong impressions to many gamers.
Not really, they designed this game to be possible to solo everything. But if you are really bad at jumping puzzles, fighting bosses by yourself, or the jumping sections of SAB, it does help a bit to be in a group. It’s meant to be designed for people who has the skills and good timing reflexes to dodge deadly attacks and such.
Thus being said, I think the checkpoints in SAB are meant to be personal checkpoitns rather than someone running up to it for the party.
Well, at least this is what I heard about world 1, I heard world 2 is extremely difficult to try to solo it yourself.

I honestly feel that it’s still easier to do it solo. In a group you’re only as good as your weakest link.
Problem is, I’m usually really bad at jumping puzzles (which the entire SAB is like this, especially the Tribulation mode). I even don’t know how to properly time the dodge roll jump in some areas.

Oh, okay, thanks for the info. So they want SAB to be done as group, but possible to solo the whole thing, but takes longer.

Well at the very least i couldn’t stun it, at all, yesterday. Intended or bug? Don’t know.
Well, I had something similar like that when I was doing this as well.
Yep, farming SAB got kitten as kitten.
How does SAB scale with number of players?

Speaking of checkpoints, is the checkpoints supposed to be a personal thing or party-wide thing?
For example, one person in your party manages to reach checkpoint B, but other party members haven’t reached there yet. If one of your party members died, will they respawn at the latest checkpoint?

Okay, I know ANet really hate farmers via the changes on the magic find and the nerf of the dig site spots and chest. However, are there any changes to the Queen Bee Dog? The reason being is that back when SAB was introduced as an April Fool’s joke, it’s possible to completely stunlock this boss and make a hit or two before whipping it again. And then there is the Honeycomb that gives a lot of Bauble Bubbles (as well as the Queen Bee Dog dropping some Bauble Bubbles)? Are the Bauble Bubble drops from the Honeycomb/Queen Bee Dog account bound to prevent farming abuse from that as well?

For more humanoid races like the norn, human, and sylvari., it could work. For asurans and charr….not so much (particularly the Charr where they are supposed to be fierce, not funny).
Yes, you have a chance to get a lodestone from killing champion monsters. That, along with a set number of T6 crafting materials in high level areas as means of compensation for the removal of magic find equipment in a later update (since most people like me have magic-find gear as means of farming T6 materials; here’s how expensive some ascended back items can be in terms of T6 crafting materials).
There might be an assassination attempt on Queen Jennah by either the Bandits or Separatists (or an alliance of both, or the White Mantle involved). However, due to plot armor of Queen Jennah, the assassination attempt will fail and we’ll have another Living Story content involving this.
if the charr wage war against humans again, then LA would no longer exist, the pact would disappear, the vigil, whispers, and priory would lose members, and the dragons would have no real opposition to them, thus allowing Tyria to be destroyed by them.
Yeah, this is one of the main reasons why the peace treaty was signed between the humans and the Charr. They acknowledge that the dragons are a much bigger threat than each other and need to work together to defeat them. Humans acknowledge they are no longer a dominant species and the Charr has disowned and outcasted the Flame Legion (who pretty much kittened the Charr up because of the deceit and how the heroes from the original Guild Wars kitten -stomped them and their so-called gods).
If anything is gonna be bad happening to Queen Jenna, it would probably be an assassination attempt by a Bandits/Separatists alliance that will fail (since the game demands Queen Jenna to be alive) and another Living Story will involve you thwarting this new evil Bandit/Separatist alliance who ended up having a human supremacist viewpoint and xenophobic to every non-human race.
If anyone had done the human storyline about his/her lost parents, the Shining Blade reveals that the Bandits are backed (or actually are) White Mantle operatives and the White Mantle are operating under the shadows. Also, note that in Guild Wars 1, the White Mantle did fought the Charr to defend their homeland, so the White Mantle might seek an alliance with the Separatists to achieve two similar goals (bring down the Krytan human government and genocide against non-humans). They would probably start massacring Quaggans since the Quaggans’ technical pacifism is an easy target and blame for the human troubles
It probably has to do with how uninspired and cliché characters like Jennah (and Salma before her) are written. They are like fanfiction Disney Princesses. The “Good Queen” who is a super hot babe that is fair and just, seemingly has no flaws and conveniently was one of the main forces that finally brought charr and humans together. Some people like a character with flaws and are disinterested or annoyed by ones that don’t seem to have them. Juxtapose the way Kiel and Evon are portrayed in Candidate trials, it’s like white and black (I’ll assume in good faith that their skin and fur colours are coincidences). A lot of us want a little grey in our world, not just black and white.
Yeah, this is the biggest problem I have with the Guild Wars lore, it doesn’t cover the “moral shades of grey” extensively as well as many other video games and it’s all good vs. evil “black and white” morality. Heck, even League of Legends and World of Warcraft covers “grey morality” way better than this game.

I have a lot of Badges of Honor stacks in my bank space. When the Account wallet is live, will all of my Badges of Honor stacks be automatically deposited into my Account wallet?
The Veteran Risen Abomination is really difficult to kill. But in keep in note that their dash that knocks you back and make you take a lot of damage is fairly easily to dodge and the Risen Abomination gives a large warning (pounding on their chest with a large roar) when they are going to do that dash.
As mentioned above, they can be easily kited and their attacks are quite slow, so dodging them shouldn’t be a problem. Note that since they are “unstoppable”, meaning that they cannot be slowed, snared, stunned, crippiled, etc. in any way.
If you still have trouble fighting the Risen Abomination, consider summoning minions as a meat shield to help take him down.
Yes this match-up kind of blows for morale, but I think it is important to remember that even if Kaineng finishes dead last this week, we can still gain rating points here! We are not supposed to win this matchup, in fact every point we do take is a win.
Yes it might feel overwhelming to face TC with their superior numbers and so many of our old friends fighting on their side, but it is not a useless fight by any means. It is just time to whip out the Guerrilla tactics. Take that camp. Kill those Dolyaks. Spend this week training for future matches. Don’t look too closely on the overall score, focus on accomplishing the small things, and take pride in doing that.
I have heard of some seriously awesome fights so far this match, so it is really worth while logging in, even though the overall score looks kind of lop sided.
And I hope that everyone can get over the fact that we are now facing friends in the field. No one predicted this, so let’s make the best of the hand dealt. We in Dii also lost several of our core WvW-ers to TC, but you wont see us giving up or hating on the people who opted to leave Kaineng. Nor will you see any Dii-ers “spying” on Kaineng (or on TC), everyone is just playing to have fun and experience the game the best they can.
Even so, Kaineng is still considered to be the worst WvW server because we kinda lack effective strategy dealing with zergs that greatly outnumber us, the lack of people participating in Kaineng WvW, the inability to control our own borderland (heck our kittening garrison got captured numerous times), commanders who have no kittening idea what they are doing or the priorities of controlling important locations (if the garrison or the main EB keep is captured, retaking it is the highest priority no matter what); and of course, Ajax Blue.
I’m planning to transfer away from Kaineng because Kaineng makes it really difficult to do WvW map exploration which I really need for 100% map completion for one character. And considering that Kaineng is stuck on the color red like three to four times in a row, it kinda shows how much fail Kaineng is in WvW.
Dear Kaining,
Please Keep Ajax to yourselves.

Dear TC,
Please try to get Ajax permabanned. He’s making Kaineng the WORST WvW server now.

Jade Quarry is a good server to transfer to. There are people who constantly keep Citadel of Flame open (which if you are an avid CoF farmer like me, this is good). And from the recent WvW scores, they seem to do extremely well; thus making Jade Quarry good if you are planning on WvW map completion or raising your WvW rank quickly (although I’ve been told that the color you are placed in is completely random).
I’m planning to transfer to Jade Quarry from Kaineng sometime in the future because I’m stuck with commanders who have no idea what they are doing in WvW, the difficulty of WvW map completion with Kaineing, and Jade Quarry ability to keep Citadel of Flame open.
That site shows WvWvW ranking for all NA servers (also EU if you change the drop down, for those on EU servers)
Best answer is watch it daily and choose which you like the look of? Good hunting
Okay thanks, it looks like Jade Quarry does fairly well. So I’m considering transferring to Jade Quarry. Not to mention, they’re good at keeping Citadel of Flame almost all of the time (don’t like to have my kitten wait for some group of ppl open up Citadel of Flame in Kaineng).
Well? Any suggestions?
The Tengu’s beak does go up and down with the dialogue, but as I said, it isn’t very convincing. They also don’t lend themselves well to facial emotion – something that all of the current races are very capable of.
That’s how all non-playable races are. Their mouths either hardly move, or it’s as if their whole lower jaw is a stiff block of wood on a puppet’s mouth going up and down. Grawl, hylek, quaggan, skritt, dredge, ogre, jotun, dredge, tengu, kodan, etc. are all like this.
About races, I’d say there’s only four races seen thus far in GW2 that have a possibility of becoming playable, however small:
Tengu, which I’d say is about 95% or more chance
Largos, which I’d give to be about 50% chance
Djinn, which I’d say is about 40% chance
Kodan, which I’d give to be about 20% chanceAny race considered to be an Elder or Lesser race is a no go; races considered to be a racial enemy (centaur, dredge, etc.) would similarly be a no go. The first case kind of puts djinn as “unlikely” but having one elder race that hasn’t fallen yet – the only case being djinn and possibly tengu depending on their history – isn’t unlikely.
I personally think that quaggans, skirtt, kodan, hylek, and tengu have higher chances of being future playable races than say largos, grawl, ogres, and dredge.
- What interest would the charr have in Cantha?
- We don’t know Cantha’s level of technology. They could be in the equivilant of the 1920s for all we know.
- Number 3 of your points is utterly pointless, ArenaNet isn’t all about making puns and mimicing real history. They use cultures as influences and references for developing their own, but they don’t copy their history. Otherwise the sylvari would be coming out of charr oppression.
- The Charr may probably be interested in the Canthan resources and military control of that area.
- Cantha didn’t have any contact with other cultures and civilizations for over 250 years. If they were to have the same military technology with the Charr, they would at least have some contact with the Charr.
- Cantha is loosely based and inspired by many east Asian cultures. The Charr is mostly inspired by Roman military structure and the Industrial Revolution. ArenaNet don’t make exactly replicas of real life cultures, but they based and inspired by them
Keep in note that Cantha being isolationist is mostly based on how many of the East Asian kingdoms became isolationist and xenophobic between the 1300s-1600s (more particularly, it’s loosely based on Japan’s Edo period). Should ANet decide to look into Cantha (probably like 3-4 years from now), the lore would probably involve Cantha being forced out of isolation in a similar sense how Commodore Matthew Perry forced Japan out of isolation because of the western powers’ superior military technology. It would also involve how the Canthan society will have to reform itself and deal with other races like the Charr, Norn, Asura, and Sylvari much like the Meiji Restoration.
If I were to say which race would force Cantha out of isolation, I would best say the Charr because of 1) their superior military technology, and 2) they could easily curbstomp Cantha since Cantha won’t have the same military technology level like what the Charr have, and 3) The Charr nomenclature of their characters is very good for making names and characters based of the key historical figures that were involved in East Asia during the Industrial Revolution. For example, “Perry” part on Commodore Matthew Perry could be “Purfire” in the Tyrian world alternative.
From my my knowledge, Guardian brings a lot in the table for party-wide support and tankiness (although ironically, I heard Guardians have very low base health).
Engineers have really nice tools to do some mob farming. During the Secrets of Southsun event, I had an engineer with a pistol and shield and destroyed a lot of Young Karkas with that combo. And the flamethrower is a nice DPS equipment.
Hi, I’m currently in Kaineng and I’m trying to get out of this server. The reason being is that Kaineng sucks really badly in WvW right now (to give you an understanding, Kaineng is stuck in red three times in a row and getting their kitten stomped bad by TC and FA combined because commander don’t realize that if the main keep/garrison is captured, then retaking it is the highest priority). And because of this, this makes it extremely difficult to impossible to do map completion with my main character who is trying to get 100% map completion and the Gifts of Exploration. And assuming I get all of my gems from gold/’gem exchange, the average cost of server is roughly 30-40g, is that right?
Here is a server that I want to look for:
-A server that constantly changes color every single week. In other words, a good WvW server that does really well to the point that they get their color changd and have good and reasonable matchups.
-A server that can keep Citadel of Flame open almost constantly. I also farm a lot in CoF. I was thinking of Jade Quarry. However, I’m not sure how good Jade Quarry is in WvW scenarios.
