Here is how ANet can make new weapon types work without having to go back and make lvl 1 weapons and on.
New weapon type will be Elite spec only.
Why does this work?
Elite specs are lvl 80 only.
That being said, there is no need to go back and design skins for old world content and crafting.
They will only need to make exotic versions to fulfill skin variety and then the ascended skins (which is the same skin different colors).
They will not need to go back and design any type of BL version or dungeon version of the skin. Plus, People will not be able to make the argument that they cant afford an exotic… considering you get your first free exotic once you unlock the elite spec.
Trying to get back into raiding. I’ve cleared all of wing one and then I took a break.

My Chrono is fully up to date with recent balance patch, This is her exact build/gear.

But it’s a great investment IMO.
Within 50 candies consumed, I typically get 30mins of the buff I want (MF or Karma). A stack of 250 candy corn is about 1.2g at the moment.
I typically will go through about 100-150 candies before a fractal run and get 30 mins to an hour and 30 mins of every buff in the game.
Yes it can be tedious to sit there and click it over and over (with the cooldown on it) but it honestly doesn’t take but 2-3 mins to get an hour of the buff you want.
Personally, It’s still an amazing item (even after the nerf a few years back).

I think wooden potatoes made the best suggestion.
Remove stats completely from runes… Leave the 3 peice bonuses and make them 3/3 sets. You’ll see a much larger selection of rune diversity in the game. I know there are plenty of runes with bonuses I’d like, but I don’t use because the state it gives is something like vitality… I think being able to have 2 rune sets would be enough for the balance of loss stats (considering you could potentially have 20% increased dmg)
Personally they should all be enrichment slots, and can only have one active.
As it stands now I’m sitting on a whole bunch of Balls of Dark Energy and whole of of crystallized mist essence.
Will we ever get any other uses for these items? I’e already made Ad Infintum…
Probably the fastest t4 clear I have ever had… Healing Druid, condi necromancer, fresh air ele, PS war, and chronomancer. All three in 20 mins.

Yeah, which you have to trade dps gear for commander’s gear. I can get 100% boon duration in full zerker gear. You need full commander’s gear to do that with chronomancer runes. Plus if you’re a competent player… You can keep perma quickness on very easily with leadership runes.
Sigil and food alone is 50%+ which is all you need with a rev in the group.
That’s fine… But I tank just fine with leadership runes. I keep quickness and alacrity up just as good, if not better. Just because metabattle says it, doesn’t mean it’s the only way. I’m pretty sure metabattle list leadership as an expensive alternative.

Oh I forgot to add my utilities… Use wash the pain away, all the shouts including rebound.
So a lot of people are very against full celestial builds… But I have all +5 power infusions. Then I run sigil of bloodlust. So I make up a lot of power there too. I find it super fun running in and trashing around in a bunch of mobs while also healing those in zero gear. I don’t feel underpowered either… I kill things fairly easily.

It’s clearly a stone head. You can go see that exact mob in hot right now.

To be honest all classes can be in your face mellee…
I play mesmer and revenant. Most the time I play them both full mellee, but both have a great range weapon to pull out and use when I need it… This game can’t be compared to wow… Considering every class can be mellee, range, glass, condi, tanky, ect….
I so feel your pain, but where would we get a steady supply of the Taffy?
I get taffy everyday it seems from all the items that break down bloodstone dust, dragonite ore, and fragments. So there won’t be a lack of taffy, just no where near as abundant as candy corn.

It’s been over a year. I remember phantasms triggering sigil of fire over and over… It was nice.I have no memory of that whatsoever, so I’m pretty sure that was never a thing.
The only similar thing that used to occur was a bug having to do with runes (and maybe sigils?) that came baked into armor pieces. If you had a full set of TA armor, people would get feared by attacking your illusions. This was due to a bug where illusions inherited the baked-in runes of TA armor (nightmare runes) for some reason.
Yep they used to trigger sigil of air and fire. The best part was, they had their own individual cool down. I remember first noticing it and thinking I was crazy. So I went to the old dummies in lions arch and spawned up some clones and didn’t attack anything myself… I watched each clone proc their own individual sigil.

I agree with the backpack. There are many back peice that are viable to show through with a sheild. Though there are some back peices that would not work… Meaning they’d have to program for each backpack. Not sure if they’ll do that.
And yes yes yes! 5 man legendary armor needs to be a thing. I say implemented through fractals.
Maybe even make this an option of getting legendary armor outside of raiding.
Here’s a wild idea… Make it something like warband or the theif elite skill… So it will just be a summon, and not applicable to being shatter. Just an idea.

The idea behind this spec would be removing all clones, and having a permanent phantasm. Most the skills would revolve around empowering yourself and your phantasm.
Idea for an F5 shatter – “split personality” – swap positions with your phantasm.
Then utilities based around your phantasm that is almost like weapon kits. That change its weapons and skills.
Your shatters will be replaced with weapon skills of the phantasm.
Example – utility “empowering swords” – phantasm is equipped with dual swords and gain sword abilities.
F1 – leap attack – leap into battle attacking for X dmg
F2 – dual stab – use both swords to deliver a critical blow
F3 – blade dance – twirl finisher – spinning dance that grants distortion and does x dmg
F4 – evasive heal – leap back healing for x amount

We used to get little gifts each month for buy at least 800 gems.
I don’t understand why this stopped. It was a nice incentive to help support the game and wasn’t game breaking. It’s also not unfair imo, if someone plays the game for free then they are winning. If someone supports the game and gets a single BL key or BL salvaging kit, then they deserve it.
Just a thought.

Alacrity isn’t that big of a deal, half the ‘decent’ mesmers didn’t/don’t notice the difference.
Heck, half the decent mesmers don’t even need to use Alacrity.
Shatter mesmer is still viable. Why not try that out guys? Get some fresh air from all that invulnerability.
Hey let’s balance around PvP… Then completely destroy pve. Whether you like it or not, alacrity made us pve viable.

The chronomancer nerfs were sloppy, and feel as if they were made on a whim without any thought.
I understand alacrity sharing was powerful… But mesmer DPS is still awful.
The traits/skills need to be redesigned in chrono. Considering they are tuned around the 66% alacrity.
The best solution, I feel, mesmers should have a trait that makes alacrity stay 66% on themselves.
Then all shared alacrity can be 33%.
Also, the well of precognition nerf is distasteful and doesn’t even feel like a mesmer utility now.

Maybe they should change our traits to where alacrity also gives us 66%, but 33% on the party. It sad they’re nerfing us because of other classes dps with alacrity.
I think only allowing mesmer to have the 66% should be warranted.
Has anet officially announced that gift of fortune will be part of the recipe, or is this all speculation. Not sure if I should save my gift for back or make a different legendary.
That makes sense, but didn’t anet said they wanted every class to be viable in raids. I can understand trading in other players based on their class for more burnzerkers based on the huge DPS they can put out, but that will still lead to a low diversity in raid composition.

Honestly I see a resurgence of condi mesmers. That’s the hard counter to all melee. Theif might cause problems for everything else, but at least we can face roll them with our condi build.
I would agree…except they buffed necros through the roof. It’s already dangerous to run condie vs a necro, with those buffs it’ll be suicide.
This is true, but every class has a hard counter. It’s just we are used to not having one (PU was faceroll before HoT). I’m fine with being powerful with 1 maybe 2 hard counters.

This is my main concern. I feel in PvP mesmers still find a build that’s competitive. Though in PvE, we might have just lost our viability.
I see everyone arguing about quickness stacking and how “people don’t stand in wells” and time warp… yet the real power and source behind quickness stacking is neither of those. The secret behind quickness stacking is Seize the Moment (shatter stack quickness on self) and Signet of Inspiration (share all boons with allies)… So you your 96% goes towards quickness when you apply it to yourself, and then multiplicative effect from your signet to others. I can literally stack and maintain 45 seconds to 1 min quickness on my party.
All you have to do is continuum split, TW, Signet, Split back and TW with a few shatters and use signet again. Very easy to do. Just keep hitting your signet when off cooldown and profit.
So I’m not sure if this ideal. This is what I’m runnig.

Leadership/chronomancer are debatable, but you’ve made some pretty poor choices in that build that aren’t. Celestial gear is bad. You should be using zerk/sin or adding in knights/cavs if you’re tanking. Additionally, the chaos line is bad. The only thing you get from it is boons on shatter, and that’s completely worthless if the rest of your group is even remotely competent.
Eh I have multiple ascended sets. Though my group has been clearing all three encountes with ease and typically one shots. I go full zerk on sab. I would disagree with you statement on chaos line. Try looking at all three minor traits, especially that third one… Considering quickness stacking is a thing.
