to win a monthly you need to Q up with 4 other absolute pro players, but that still lets me think you will lose the final cause chances are high you face 5 other top players and with your gold 3 experience its basically (no offense) a 4v5 that you will definitely lose
then you mentioned the option to “sponsor” some players, but if you search on the forum just a few threads back, exactly this happened in NA and didnt go as well as planned

to make it clear, if you got basi venom up the next attack cannot be blocked (however you cant interrupt invuln persons like guard using renewed focus or ele obsidian flesh)
the only way you dont interrupt your foe is if he has at least one stack of stability, but with your unblockable attack you remove one stability stack and can proceed to CC him after that
yeah please tell me about a skill that maybe a handful guards use
tell me the name of the skill that transfers all 13 condis
you got a signet that clears a condi every 10secs plus you can use the trait where you remove 2 condis on dodge on a 10sec cd plus the active signet effect gives you another FULL condi clear
im not saying that druidic clarity should be nerfed to the ground, but it being a stunbreak plus a full condi clear on such a short cd is too much
thats why i said, let it remove 3-4 condis (maybe 2 cc condis and 2 dmg condis) and it would be in a better state for the game
look, there are only a few builds that can kill druid in a fair 1-1, though a well played druid never dies in a 1-1 and stalemates a 1-2 for so long that his team wins the other nodes or let the +1er waste time till he leaves and engages the 1-1 again
i dont even wanna talk about endure pain getting nerfed heavily while signet of stone has an active AND a passive effect AND a full kittening 6 (!) seconds invuln to dmg….
well thief and mes is still the best roaming comp and a stealth moa is almost guaranteed an instant kill on the enemy plus a fullcapped node from start on, on which the mes can leave a portal then…
but since CS is shown on the ground even if the mes is stealthed, the enemy would have a short time to react and dodge the stealth moa

somehow almost every port on each map seems to be broken, in 90% it says no valid path even though the ports worked before the recent patch
i main thief and this has cost me too many games now cause i couldnt deny decaps on khylo or skyhammer for example or spike the enemy down, its really frustrating if you need to walk the whole way from below to khylo midpoint instead of teleporting on an enemy like it used to be before
pls fix asap
Second thing:
i thought about a very few changes for the next balance patch, cause atm the skill floor is way too low for each class and we need to increase the level again, so here we go
Engi:
- nerf perfectly weighted, 4 second passive gained stability on a 8 sec cooldown is too much
either reduce the uptime, increase the cooldown or (imo) change stability for something less powerful, like regeneration or maybe protection
Druid:
- nerf druidic clarity, imo a full condi clear PLUS stun break is too overpowered
im fine with it being a stun break, but it should only remove like 4 condis at max, not all 13 in this game
the thing is, in a 1-1 a druid can just outsustain every dps class and their weakness are condis, BUT any decent player can kite around for 15 secs till he can basically press the reset button, clear everything and heal himself full in less than 3 seconds, then proceed to stealth and disengage to a safe distance and re-engage with full HP….rinse and repeat
oh and where we are at it, i think that pet damage should get nerfed in general and druid damage should be increased, that way the druid need to actually do something and not let the pet do all the work, simply survive 15secs till he can full reset and kite on spots where e.g. thiefs that want to +1 cant steal him
Mes
- people always complained about that continuum split affecting elites is too powerful, but what about this simple solution
give CS a short cast time, like 1/4s for example, cause now its almost impossible to avoid getting moa’d after the shield 5 stun, because the mes can instantly set up moa and click continuum split mid cast and your brain cant even react so fast and click a stun break plus a dodge
but now if the mes stuns him, the enemy has a short time span to stun break and dodge, if he is too slow its his fault and this is the part where good players getting separated from trash players
these are just my humble opinions on the 3 classes, but i think that we need to shift the game in a direction where there is a higher gap between a skilled player and a non skilled one
atm the game is full of passives blocks and invulns and boon spam and what not, where bad players can make mistakes over and over again and get away with it…this needs to be changed

The level of protection we have is minor in comparison to that of War
so lets compare:
war got a 3sec block, while mes has essentially 2 blocks cause you can time the 2 blocking animations better….plus EACH block spawns a phantasm, plus giving alacrity and slowness
mace has a short block, while blurred frenzy evades everything AND deals ton of dmg (for being an evading attack)
phase retreat is basically a stun break on a 10sec cd and chaos armor / storm are really good aswell
okay war got endure pain, but if he used it he doesnt have any defense anymore, while mes can blink away and kite or portal away and be completely safe
im not saying that war is up and mes is op, but just wanted to point out that mes has at least the same level of protection that war has
i also would say that a good mesmer is unkillable, while a good war is not
anet just cares about money dude
i mean why else would they set gw2 for 50% off right now, so that ppl gonna buy a new acc and smurf into the ladderboard, right when season ends

I seldom land this skill. Know why? People can file their taxes and run a marathon before it finishes casting. It has a big tell and has a long cast time. The Times I DO land it… Yes, the fight swings in my team’s favor, but if it does land… It’s kind of deserved.
well to be fair in a teamfights its all pure clusterkitten and you can barely see ANY animation
in a 1-1 its something else, its easily dodgeable, no doubt, BUT in a teamfight its a really great skill

if necro gets focussed really hard by 5 people with full DS, he still can survive a few seconds…with ele (+ maybe engi and druid) support even longer
there is a reason why necro/ele is the best 2v2 combination atm
now lets say thief gets focussed hard by 5 people, he cant even react by time cause hes already dead….and no one, not ele druid or engi can support a thief that much that he can facetank like necro can

If you’re running mimic and you use CS just to blink 3 times in a row you are playing mesmer wrong in PvP
Well, you’re obviously ignoring my point. But the possibility to chain teleports is there. And it’s stun breaker. And it’s on 30(24)s cooldown which is much less than 50(40)s that thief has. I’d take mesmer’s cooldown before condi clear on second port any time.
To add:
If we were to compare skill for skill like I just did for mesmer then you would see there is a lot of imbalance like this. Two skills or traits that have same mechanic can differ a lot between classes. Some get more some get less, depending on how their class is played and what mechanics it has.
Calling Shadowstep op is really not knowing basics of the game and being salty. Thiefs don’t really have going much for them and few goods skills keep thief alive in what would otherwise be being one-shot scenario. But I guess it’s easy for Necro to talk stupid stuff like op did, he isn’t the one that will get killed by one or two strong attacks. He has effectively 40k HP (minimum) and he doesn’t care most of the time.lol dude, a vault hits me for 12k. PI hits me for 4k. backstab for around 10k. So instantly I lose half my health with no visual tell at all. How is that fun?
yeah not to mention axe#2 can almost one shot a thief

This is such a bullkitten argument. If bunkers are a problem then the solution is not to have a class with broken mechanics and poor balance but to nerf the bunkers. Jesus christ. Its almost as if thief players can’t stand the thought of having a class with non broken mechanics.

Something needs to be done. The time for action is now anet. Lets work together with anet and find 3 ways to nerf thief to save gw2
Alright, cool! Let’s nerf thief in three ways that the GW2 community can all agree upon!
1) Give stealth a 10 second cooldown for thief. 10 seconds of reveal whether or not the thief uses an attack to break stealth, that way the thief is much easier to track at all times.
2) Make Shadowstep a 600 range teleport without a stunbreak. Also remove the shadow return aspect of it. Shadowstep should only be a one way trip. This also means the condition removal is gone as well. Cooldown increased to 100 seconds.
3) Make Headshot cost 8 Initiative, thereby making it impossible for a thief to get multiple interrupts in quick succession. Just to be sure though, also add a 10 second ICD to Pulmonary Impact. I know, this is two nerfs, but they go hand-in-hand so well that I just couldn’t stop myself!
oh oh i got something to add
give thief only one dodge bar instead of the three, but as a compensation thief now only dodges backwards
steal now gets a bigger animation then chaotic release to make sure absolutely everybody can dodge it now
attacks now remove HP instead of initiative, that way headshot spammer kills himself

condi remove on heal if you use it, shadowstep, signet, dodge, and evading an attack.
thief steal gives tons of boons, the ones listed in trickery plus 3 you can rip.

yeah idk why you list skills and traits that no thief even uses, i could also say shrouded removal from nec is op cause you permanently lose conditions in DS or strength of the fallem from guard is op cause you lose a condition every 10secs by passive trait
and i mentioned above that thief only has 2 condi removals, which you listed again being shadowstep and signet (dodge removes soft cc which never had any affect on thief anyway)
also yes steal gives boons to you, but lets see: you got perma swiftness through dodging anyway, then you get a single mightstack (wow!) and fury (ok fury is good, but literally any other class can constantly apply fury to other teammates, so thief doesnt really rely on fury from steal)
then it removes 3 boons from enemies and applies them to yourself; BUT the uptime from the boons already ran lower when applied to the enemies, if you steal them you get maybe 1 or 2 seconds of that boon (which doesnt help in any case)
also priority from stealing is stability which got changed by anet long time ago (applied in intervals now), so it gets instantly reapplied to enemies

I personally feel that the seasons and the gaps between the seasons are too long
The season starts, you’re excited what will come, you play and you play even more and then after a ton of games theres a point where you’re just exhausted from all the drama, the DC’s in your team, the bad teammates, the throws, whatever…but still you gotta play more WEEKS to hold your rating
And after the season Hotm will be empty for the next 2 months again….
I just wish a season would be like a month long and the gap between a season 2-4 weeks, so there would also be more balance patches

For ppl with 100+ matches and not tanked 12-3 or anything mmr in top ladders. Atm lost s of ppl just play all 3 days 1 match while progress into the ladders is diffcult. Next thing is actutally some smurfs just blocking others out of participation.

yeah this league just feels like another beta, but yet there is still hope that anet will learn from their mistakes (sigh) and make it better next season
games where someone dc’d for longer than 2 mins wont show up in the record i believe
the map is boring as hell tbh, there is no “real” pvp behind it, no rotations, no huge teamfights, more pve than pvp
even if stronghold became a thing, people would find out which classes are best at defending and which are at attacking and every comp / strategy would be the same each and every game
the reason why most thiefs go only for a decap is the following:
a) there is respawn which will most likely go to their close to get the node back, there is 0 reason to waste like 15secs to fullcap if you cant hold the node 1-1 anyway and get decapped 5secs later on
b) while you decap, your team is outnumbered
sure you can fullcap, but if meanwhile your whole team dies 4v5, you think you can hold the node if they gonna push it then? not really hu
the only time you go for a fullcap is if you got a heavy comp that can tank the outnumbered situation for the time till you are back OR if your team starts losing the fight, then you go far and fullcap and pray to god your teammates are smart enough to disengage and play the other 2 nodes (which will 99% never happen in soloQ)
at least give the titles a name that is recognizable for everybody
like for example if you see a champion illusionist, you insta know that this guy won at least 150 games with mesmer
but as i said, in a few months nobody will tell any difference between ruthless legend, merciless legend or indomitable legend

i dont know how you guys think about this, but imo there are too many “…… – legend” titles currently ingame
primordial legend, exalted legend, illustrous legend, ruthless legend, merciless legend, indomitable legend, relentless legend, immortal legend, unyielding legend etc etc
lets take for example the ruthless legend title (when you finish the season in 26th – 100th place)
after the season youre for sure proudly gonna entitle it, but i personally think that a lot of people wont even recognize what the title means because the amount of legend titles is just too confusing
in 3-4 months people will see absolutely no difference (in terms of respect) between the primordial legend (which was a pure grind title) and the ruthless legend (which actually took skill to place in the top 100 out of a few thousand players)
so i know anet probably wont change the titles for this season anymore, but i just hope that for next season they are gonna think of something better…
- Dont let Continuum Split affect Elites
- Nerf the shield #4 (just make it a single block over 3secs duration like war shield, the additional phantasm on both blocks that slows enemies plus gives alacrity is too op), also the #5 needs to be tuned down a bit (double stun, quickness, damage, missile block, combo field PLUS cooldown reduce is too much imo)
- give blurred frency a higher cd, reduce the damage output OR the evasion time; its a 2,5 second evade on a 12sec short cd that actually does good damage

@Gwaihir you can compare all you want, it still are 2 different classes and obviously they have their differences in healing, attack etc
also to mention is that DH cant run zerker cause guards have one of the lowest healthpool ingame, so marauder is the way to go
they also run the trait with smite conditions on heal so its an extra 1,9k heal for them
not to mention like engi presses one healing turret and gets half his HP back plus having perma regen or druid can insta full heal on astral form
imo its a really good balance between all classes at the moment; well rev is a bit underpowered but that doesnt belong here

why, god, why are there always people that defend a broken mechanic
its a 0.25sec cast time and there is like no way you can dodge it, especially if a good pvper casts it after the enemy dodges (cause in higher tiers nobody double dodges)
okay im totally fine with getting hit by it, im even fine that its an unblockable attack that deals damage, applies burning, cripples, pirces enemies, has a range of 1200 AND only a short cd of 20secs
BUT if youre already not able to block the pull, at least make it dodgeable

same was with taunt on ranger pets, you couldnt dodge it and anet fixed it cause its absolutely broken
if a thief gets hit by the f1, thats his insta death cause he gets pulled into traps and into longbow ground attacks
every attack in this game should be dodgeable, otherwise other classes will have an automatic disadvantage (speaking in general)

One thing I’d like to see is for the interrupt from Necro shambling horrors removed.
This totally passive skill can quite literally shut down all overloads and any skill requiring a casting time. Yet it requires no input from the necro to totally shut down an ele.
Scrapper is pretty much a hard counter. If you can’t kill an ele you got out played.
1) what the hell are you talking about….analyzing your quotes, you clearly dont know kitten about pvp
since when is a scrapper a counter to ele? lmao
a counter is a class that completely shuts down the enemies mechanic, for example we had a time where thief was the hardcounter to mes or the offguard was a counter to thief etc.
but an infinite duel between scrapper and ele isnt what i would call hardcounter.
furthermore since HoT came out, there are barely any “real” counter classes in pvp, since it all developed into a stall game anyway
2) when exactly does an ele outplay me when i play a class that simply hasnt the dps combo-wombo to 100-0 an ele? like druid or scrapper for example, both will never die vs ele and both wont kill the ele either
so just because a good ele manages to time his CD’s well and just wont die, i got outplayed? interesting.
3) before you make any random complainments about classes, get your facts right…
