Aren’t there like only two mobs that are counter melee? We have wyverns and smokescales. The rest of the mobs can be killed in melee without issues.
Weapon swap if your friend.
However, the Itzel frogs >_> HALP!

I have such a hard time imagining the testers seeing this stuff and not saying something….so many issues with the statue spirits caused my group to actually give up for the night
Maybe because the bugs weren’t there on the test servers….
It came to me that she means the way of distributing this set is special, rather than that this set in itself is special. It’s a skin after all just like other sets.
It’s special because this is the only set that is non-tradable and will be 1 ticket forever.
Until they decide this is a good method to release other sets.Unless there’s some other lore reason behind the set.
This. How can it be so hard for others to understand what she means. People are really twisting stuff to their liking and it’s so sad ;S
Look at the experience bar and check what pvp rank you are. Tiger is between Ranks 40-49. You need to be Rank 50 for the bear.
Sorry, didn’t click on all the images :S
Did you force if before the latest update? You could try and add it again if you did it when the 64bit version was in beta.
You could try and go in to your BIOS and see if it let’s you disable/change the settings for the onboard gpu. Or go in to your device manager in windows and disable the onboard GPU there.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
It’s because the 64bit version is running your motherboards onboard gpu. You need to force it in the Nvidia control panel and it’ll be fine.
Yeah, every game/software company has their servers at the exact same place in the world so it must be gw2….
Get ping plotter and give us some real info instead of saying stuff that has no relevance.
Or they could change it to a more obvious mechanic. If so many folk don’t get it or don’t understand it then maybe it is just, you know, a bad idea.
I’m still confused by the difference between soft and hard cc, and by bosses who are immune to some of my cc attacks.
It’s an obvious mechanic. However, they never explain how it works and just added it with an update. If we had the old launcher then we could’ve had the patch notes displayed upon login so that more players see it instead of reading the forums.
Also,
Hard cc = stun, daze, knock-backs/-downs (anything that’s an instant)
Soft cc = cripple, blind, taunt, fear, chill, etc (you can see which conditions are soft cc by looking at the applied conditions, soft cc conditions are flashing grey instead of staying red)
If you see a boss with a metal bar instead of the blue one then that means that it’s immune to cc. Sometimes, they have a window of opportunity where you can cc them like with the wyvern’s or vinetooth.
I believe you have the wrong definition of outlast here. Outlast means to go past where the other(s) has stopped, not to simply exist for a longer period of time.
So, for example. Your mom could be 10 years younger than your father but if he dies first, she will outlast him even though she isn’t as old as him.
So, if Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 both end at the same time neither will outlast the other even though Guild Wars 1 might have been running all that time and has that many more years.
That would be an incorrect belief than but dont fret I got you:
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=define+outlast
The definition you provided is for the word endure.
The example you provided is for the word survived. The husband is survived by wife and kids.Well at least you tried….
How do you tell how long something has lasted? You measure from the starting point up to current point however if you alter the starting point you’ve just created a biasim.
I mean you can’t seriously be suggesting that if we were to have an underwater breath holding contest where you held your breath for 1 minute and I held mine for 30 seconds but started 45 seconds after you – than I outlasted you.
If you look at US and EU sales right now, you’ll that that Guild Wars 2 takes in more money in those regions, being more popular in those regions than Blade and Soul. By the same token, Lineage, which couldn’t make it in the west, is the most popular MMO in Korea. But being as I don’t live in Korea, it doesn’t make that much difference to me.
I’m interested in how MMOs do in the west, because I have no interest in Eastern MMOs. They don’t cater to the type of play style that the western player tends to enjoy, hence the long string of failures of eastern MMO’s coming here.
If you want to argue a game is doing better because it’s doing better in China, that’s fine. You can argue that. It simple doesn’t matter to me. Again because I don’t live in China.
Suppose for example, Guild Wars 2 did great in China but lousy here? Well if that were the case, I’d have less people to play with and the game would be more likely to close down for me, just as Lineage did.
But that’s the real thing. If people are saying the game is dying, but in the region I’m playing it it’s doing well for the region, then the game isn’t dying in this region. The region I’m playing in. The region in which I have to find people to play with. The region ion which I have to build my guild.
I’m sure all the people who played and enjoyed Lineage in the US are madly happy it’s doing well in Korea. But that didn’t stop them from having to find another game.
So now you’re backstepping in your argument – If you only cared about west than why did you include china sales?
Errr…. If you consider gw2’s 30,557 1q16 earning greater than blade and souls 54,018 than very well I’ll let you live in that fantasy.
LOL Are you sure i’m the one thats imaginating? At what point in any of our conversions in this thread did I remotely suggest that gw1 outsold gw2? please by all means quote it for easy ref because I don’t see it.
Still waiting for you to make that quote….
To be honest Just a flesh wound summed it up pretty good. But you’re so full of it or maybe so stuck to your beliefs that you don’t understand your own argument. I sure hope no one else responds to your crap because it’s pointless just like this thread.
I don’t understand why people have to buy from the website. I got my pre-purchase for 35€ from a regular store where I live. I’m pretty sure you can get a copy by now that’s even lower.
Well….we can all agree here that you lost your tinfoil hat, Ashen. Best of luck!
As for DS, It’s one of my favorite events in the game. Bria in Iron Marches ist till my fav
Have you tried downloading the files on an other computer? You only need the Gw2.exe and gw2.dat so put them on a memory stick and run the exe. The computer doesn’t have to be able to run the game, just need to be able to start the launcher.
The lack of player trading by reason of scam prevention is an excellent example of running a market on socialism.
In a free market, you get some people who are intelligent enough to not get scammed and know how to best sell their items to get the price they want. These people get the full value for what they sell. You also get other people who are impatient, who don’t do research on the market, who don’t know how to sell or buy things in the best ways, and who are stupid enough to fall for dumb tricks. These people lose value constantly. Instead of supporting a system where skilled players get rewarded and dumb players get punished, ANet spreads the pain of being scammed onto everyone.
This is great for the idiot who reads at a first-grade level and doesn’t have the mental awareness to avoid being fooled, because 15% loss all the time may be much better than sometimes 100%. The players that know what they’re doing though take a substantial hit all the time that no market ability can counteract. In fact, the only way around such a thing is to use a system that is even more scam prone and no way enforced, which puts a much greater risk on the market player than even the most basic system of two-way exchange. Even if this risk could somehow be accounted for, the recently introduced cap on gold transfers between players outright stops any transactions of considerably high levels from taking place more than a few times.
In other words, like most areas of GW2, players of all levels are robbed of their agency. For bad players, this is a minor loss, and perhaps even a benefit in some cases, while skilled players get completely dumped on. The biggest beneficiary of the whole thing is ANet, because a system which drains the economy so well by doing that every single time a transaction is made makes the most stereotypical scam of purchasing in-game gold with real world currency a sound business opportunity for the studio.
OMG! What does skill have to do with face-to-face trading…. So, you’re saying that someone that gets fooled = bad player and someone that completes the transaction the way it’s supposed to go = skilled player? What, I dont even >_>
Touche on bringing up the Anet card. slow clap
Might be the Herald aspects when toggled.

It’s not clean if this happens. There’s something in your computer that’s doing this, even if your scans don’t find anything. I’d advise you to got to one of the many anti virus/malware sites to get help cleaning this or do a full format and reinstall your OS.
This whole thing was just wrong…..Not only that, but the rudeness of the Reddit post. Just wow. "We’ll let you keep that, and I’ll take the strike off your account for buying gold. " Why, thank you for not holding me accountable for something I didn’t do……
There’s nothing rude in that sentence and you’re quoting it out of context. Maybe your see it that way because your stance on this hole thing is so hostile.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
People should really stop with the hyperbole arguments. . The chances of this ever happening to legit sellers are slim. Unless they go out of their way and try to bid on stuff they know RTM use for trading.
The items would never had sold(not at this time if the RMT didn’t buy them) so the gold wasn’t lost. Luckily the OP on reddit got it sorted and gaid some extra. Foolishly he put up a bid again on the same items. Goodbye account if a RTM buys that again from the same person.
If it ever happens again to someone then anet needs to return the items and refund the listing cost.
I’ve yet to see a game where LOD isn’t affected directly. There’s also no notice on it that it requires a restart/map load as other settings. But I did a try now again with a restart.
I did move when testing. While, there is a automatic standard LOD on certain objects other things like trees and stones aren’t affected by it and stay at full detail no matter how far you get from it.
I don’t know if it’s ever worked as I’ve had my on ultra since the start.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
Um, I had no issues once I unlocked the mastery. Got three lodestones in one mining hit for the three spec collection active. I remember mining a mithril node just outside one of the entrances to the city.
Tried it in Silverwastes and DR. No change when switching between ultra and low.
Looks like you have malware/virus on your computer that’s interacting with browsers. Since the gem store is a browser it might interact with that too and display things like that.
I’d suggest that you scan your computer.
Click on the “MY ACCOUNT” a little further up on this forum (Next to logout). Check if it says that GW2:HoT is Active. You should be fine If it shows that.
Lots of people have this issue and this is the only real response from last year. Sounds like it’s a GW2 being 32 bit on 64 bit system problem. So yeah you can say it’s my fault for having a ‘modern’ OS…And it’s great an all you guys coming in to say you have no issues, but that really doesn’t help. The only solution is to turn down settings because the software can’t handle it on some 64 bit systems. But what ever, you win, I’ve been white knighted out of the thread. Good luck.
What? People have given you info how to fix your crashes. This is not a thread about beefy computer specs that struggle with the game, there is not fix for that, sadly.
achievements not kept - achievem. chests too?

You probably unlocked a few exotic skins giving you enough AP to get a chest on the beta account.
I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes, depending where you log off you’ll get placed in a different spot when you log back in.
Well, I wouldn’t worry too much…for now. If the data-mining and the info from twitchcon is correct then you’ll be able to select the stats you want from the raid dropped ascended gear.
We’ll see if this is correct this coming BWE ;D
I did! Can’t wait for the release and the BWE3!
Reading posts here i see people don’t understand what you are doing so i don’t think you can get feedback on forums when something this technical is involved
I agree. Don’t think It was a wise idea to share this with us. It will be hard for them to find the right reports among all the false posts with incorrect information. Would’ve been better if they did It without posting about it. Then they could’ve looked for created threads during the testing period.

This is not a bug…..
Did you by any chance have a Mona Lisa there? I’ve heard that she’s very sought after, might be the reason this happened.
We can not help you here. You’ll have to click on the support link at the top of the page and send a support ticket. GL

“The problem is that much of these issues aren’t even subjective: they’re huge problems and so obvious that I’m often amazed that A) ArenaNet have never acknowledged them (not to my knowledge) and Haven’t in the space of 3 years even made any attempt to rectify them. For a team of hundreds, how can it be that they do not have the capacity to sit down and say “Hey, you know what, let’s fixed the name bug on ranger pets this week.” or “Oh god, spirits are absolutely garbage. Their active is useless, they’re static and also die super easy in Fractal’s. Shall we spend some time fixing them for the next patch and perhaps we could bring them in line with warrior banners?” Better yet, “I am sick to death of my pet dying in every single boss encounter. Can we address this at last?”
Highlighted the best parts with the article. Makes an exaggerated statement and mentions a silly thing as an example.
Oh and one more thing. It’s not a bug it’s just designed that way.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
I think we just have to accept that they don’t care about these professions. 2 Months out from launch and they still aren’t ready? Not good.
You do realize that they have internal builds that are weeks ahead of the beta build we’re getting?
I don’t think there will be any preloading. Just like with the betas we’ll get several updates a few days before it starts and then they just flip the switch/release a small update.
Gw2 is a MMO after all.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
It amazes me how you guys use support for the most silly things ever. Support should only handle real account/billing issues not missing items that you accidentally displace/delete. *rant
I hope you find your clay pot
I’m pretty sure that we don’t get to keep these achievements. In the previous BWE you could complete the daily achievements on a beta character but that didn’t transfer to the live account.
Better that then letting the grown-up babies decide.
Ugh… I don’t remember having access to the TP on the beta characters. Maybe you were on a live account.
Are you guys connected through wi-fi? I know from my own experience that gw2 doesn’t work very well thorugh wi-fi if you don’t have a good router.
Log on to an older character and it will be fixed. It’s a known bug.
Don’t Panic.
Ignore the mail and relog the character and it should be fixed. You will still keep your points and title if you did earn it in GW1.
The HoM is a little wonky after they fixed a bug.
I don’t remember if it asked me to save my code in the app but I was able to find it doing the following:
Open WinAuth > right-click on the place it generates the temporary code >pick “Show Secret key” from the drop-down menu.
I feel I get low FPS for my setup am I crazy?

Same as Behellagh.1468
The Bus interface in GUP-Z is showing that the card is running @16 1.1 instead of 3.0. If GW2 was running during that screenshot then something is not right as it should adjust when gaming.
You should check if the card is connected in the correct slot or try and reseat it.
(edited by Maximus.8376)
Something I’ve noticed when doing taxis is that the LFG closes automatically after somebody joins and the map is full. So it does that even when the group is not full. Might be that you’re experiencing.
There’s nothing to “fix”. If you’d be able to turn your camera you’d only see your character. Unlike normal FPVs your character is still rendered (It’s not an FPS where the models are different depending on 1st-/3rd-personview).. But who knows It’s still in beta and they might do something about it in a few months
(edited by Maximus.8376)
Yeah, sucks to be running in 30fps, however, it was just to see if it fixed the issue.
So if it helped then it probably means that the artifacts appear when the gpu has a higher load which the fps-lock stops it from. This sounds like the card is overheating.
Are you sure that the temps aren’t going above 70 °C? If it’s above that then you need to check the cooling/re-apply thermal paste. Most GPUs shouldn’t go above 70 °C stressed.
Check with HWMonitor if you haven’t already used that program : http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
First of all revert any OC you’ve done to the GPU.
Graphical artifacts normally occur because of bad drivers, OC or overheating.
1. If you haven’t all ready, Try the -repair command on the Guild Wars 2 launcher (https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/28148006-Repairing-the-Game-Client).
2.Lock the framerate to 30fps and enable vertical sync in the guild wars 2 settings menu and see if it helps.
3.Delete the Guild Wars 2 folder under AppData (This will revert some of your settings in game)
ex : C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

This is actually one of my favorite events and I’ve never seen it broken if you don’t count the ghosts in trees.
Do they really need to draw a dragon and put a nameplate above their head to make you understand what it is? The blobs represented dragons and the one in the middle was the pale tree.
