Yeah, very nice hallucinogenic mushrooms experience
…and that’s why developpers should never put a date on anything. People will treat it like the return of Jesus.
Wow, there is many people against the idea of rewarding the top PvP players of each region with legendaries. But I agree that these players should get an awesome selection of new legendary weapons so we can distinguish them from the normal legendaries weapons that most people get through PvE, which I think they are not worth that much nowadays. Wait, even a better idea(in my opinion), they get to design their own legendary skin with the Anet art team. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
A quick and easy compromise is that we could lightly alter the legendary weapons awarded the the top PvP team (Changing Aura effect/color, footsteps, sound effect, weapon’s color?)
(edited by Moka.9641)
If that’s too difficult, then why not just give the daily reward when you stay logged actively for more than 15 minutes. It removes the feeling ‘being out of your way’ to grind dailies. Whatever you do, no matter how you play, you’ll get rewarded eventually, a bit like the PvP daily like you said, I guess. It would be easy to implement.

Deth is still bugged at the end (This bug happened numerous times last year too…). We tried to let her die to the scavengers, we killed all the mobs around the area, we waypointed and it didn’t worked. She was still stucked and no event started (Mortars event I think?). Any ideas to debug?
This is extremely frustrating since this bug was still around last year too…

GOOD!! Anet needs to make money somehow, and if they can do it based on a MINOR convenience that does not disrupt anyone’s access to content or their ability to compete in the game on a level playing field then more power to them!
Are people so naive as to think that all of this added content development and support would come at no cost? It’s almost laughable that people expect so much and expect that they should not have to somehow support it. And no, your original purchase of the game does not fund that support, it funded the original development of the content that existed when the game was released.
No, they just expect not to have existing features taken away and sold back to them as microtransactions. If this were an option for convenience sake (like the Crown Pavilion and other variations on the same theme) there would be no problem.
Go to Rata Sum, enter WvW from Rata Sum. When you’re done, press Esc and then press Character select. Then double click on your character and you’re back at Rata Sum. I think it’s pretty fast (as fast as the traditional way), so I’ll call it ’’direct’’.
That doesn’t fulfill the ‘without paying waypoint costs’ part of my post, does it?
You don’t pay any fees when you’re logging out and logging in and there is no waypoint costs when you waypoint within the city.
edit:
Actually, even better, as fellow user above said:
Since the EoTM patch, there’s also a button (on the bottom right) to leave WvW on the WvW menu. It’ll teleport you back to where you were before entering WvW. So you don’t even need to relog anymore.
I actually wasn’t aware of this, thanks for the heads up!

Yet, you’re complaining that Anet wants to make us buy airship passes? You make no sense.
No, we’re complaining that Anet has removed a feature from the game and is trying to sell it back to us as a microtransaction. That’s just scummy behaviour.
Are you listening to yourself? You’re complaining about not having a 1-stop area, when EVERY CITY IN THE GAME IS A 1-STOP AREA! That post of yours is so bad that well…
Please explain how I get directly from WvW to Rata Sum (or any of these other supposed ‘1-STOP’ cities) without paying waypoint fees, I must have missed a gate somewhere.

Agreed – a University student who usually ends up being unable to log in to GW2 every single semester (which is a lot longer than 9 days obviously -cries-).
I feel you. As an engineering student, I pass my nights coding and calculate stuff with a good ol’ beer.
Why can’t I get my lengendary just by capping numerous amount of keeps, killing numerous X amount of ppl, and like 50k wvw badges + 500rank+? I don’t want to make mystic clovers, those gifts, do the required dungeons and all that crap
Condition necromancers with condition transfers = GG. I have also difficulties against longbow/hammer,condi warriors and some well played mesmers.

Some of you guys are mixing up. 460K Peak Concurrent players is the highest number they got online within a predefined period of time (Within the year, I guess). It says nothing about the average number of concurrent players who get online everyday, which is probably way lower.
I define someone to be “skilled” in GW2, the ability that one possess to do a particular content in the game is better than the average people. But, finding an example of that in the game is hard, since most of it contents is pretty easy. If you go to an extreme, then it would be possible. I guess a solo roaming ranger in WvW who will consistantly pull off and win 1v5 would be a skilled person.

No monthly fees and can do 95% of the content with only exotics, seems good to me
If you get bored, come back in a few months to check it out and if not, im not really losing anything
You haven’t defined what is fun for you to fight. Other power builds? Hammer/bow warriors? SD engies? When you’re winning? What is it?
XX – Space-time distortion: You can be periodically teleported anywhere within 3000 range and you will have the amount of health + conditions that you had 2 minutes ago. (It could be to your death)
XX – Trait confusion: Your heal, utility, elite skills and traits are randomized
. All skills and traits are locked in this fractal level.
XX – Quaggan instability: You can be periodically transformed to a Quaggan for 1 minute (Similar to Quaggan Tonic). You will be vulnerable to friendly fire.
XX – Epidemic: Conditions that you receive instantly spreads to your nearby allies.
XX – Choreographed Moves: CC that you receive instantly applies to your nearby allies.

I really doubt that the matchmaking looks to balance the classes since the queue is account bound, as in, you can swap to any toon before the match starts.
Good point, I have maybe misread the post back then.
IIRC, I read somewhere in the forums from a dev post(can’t find it) that they tried to equally balance the classes for the two opposing teams (i.e: reducing the odds that you’ll have 4 engies in the same team).
But this happened today, is this working as intended? What are the odds? I might just be that unlucky/lucky (depends on how you see it I guess). I thought this was funny, so I wanted to share it
Wintersday is great, why don’t we just all hug in a collective electronic pixel ego of tears?
I would to see them back too! I’ve been busy with university finals exams.
Noothing much you can do if you are distracted and fighting other people

The discussion shouldn’t be whether you ‘’like underboob’’ or not. It’s whether or not underboob is acceptable in a game. And then, for once, please take in mind that it’s not about your personal opinion.
It’s acceptable and I don’t agree with your suggestion to modify the armor. People bought it for what it is or they would get refunded. Am I on topic? Is my post revelant to you because I’m saying it’s acceptable and it’s my opinion?
(edited by Moka.9641)
apparently this is a thing now…. look its so easy to level up already. you can get to 80 in a day kitten . and besides the game doesnt get anymore fun when you hit 80 anyways so you might aswell give up now
I dont care how easy it was for you.
I care about how fun the game is for me. and being forced to grind for levels just to gain access to the fun features which I paid for, is not good at all.
levels are easy for you, but boring and grindy for me.
So basically, Anet should develop the game around you and cater to your needs, am I correct? Center of the world syndrome
You could choose Asura. It would be a lot harder to read your telegraphed moves. Although this applies a bit to every classes.
They had a good chance to ensure everyone actually finds the motivation and interest go WvW next season and they completely dropped the bell. Nice work!
Disagreed, those players weren’t interested in WvW, they were interested in their achievement points and the meta reward. I’m maybe generalizing, some of them eventually got interested and started to play it regularly and started to care about their server’s performance. But for the majority of them, as soon they completed it, they went to do other things and never came back.
Tell me guys,
Why should you deserve something better?
I’d prefer them to fix the way they vehicle/tell their story first before touching the elder dragons. I don’t think Scarlet is the main problem, it was the way they presented her. Imo, it seems that in the content development processus, the devs choose to focus on a particular area on tyria(Make new items, rewards, gemstore, achievements, new map/ennemy, etc) and then the writers comes last. It seems that isn’t much they can do, because their creativity seems limited by what the devs impose on them. They just try to justify anything and try to make some sense with the current living story arc and see if it “fits”. Story should come first, and then you develop your content around it.
My idea is to make it so no server can have more than 10 players more than the lowest server of the three (in one area, not worldwide). fix the queue so it’s first come first serve, and don’t post the match-ups so no one knows who they will fight next.
Example:
Server A – 60 players
Server B – 60 players
Server C – 50 playersIf 1 person from server C leaves, then 1 person (whoever has been playing the longest) gets kicked from servers A and B. This will keep the coverage even, and in theory would make people transfer to lower servers to be able to play. I don’t know how this would work in practice, but it sounds good in my head.
What do you do about intentional disconnects exploits? Example:
Server A – 30 players
Server B- 30 players
Server C- 20 players
Scout from Server A: Oh my! Omega golem rush incoming into Hills, 10+Golems and about 30+ from server B!
Meanwhile, Server A is fighting Server C
Guild Commander from server A: kitten! We’re out of position, let’s disconnect and hope for the best lolz.
30 Players disconnects from server A
Server B has 10 players left (And some empty golems from disconnected people)
Server C has 10 players left (Huh! Where did they go?)
If the toolbelt skill is instant, it would be perfect for static discharge
I would like it to have a little bit more range though, (Maybe 130 to 250-300? Is it really 130 range?)
I will agree with the sentiment here, but it’s not a really big deal for me. I’ll just gear up my main character and all my alts will be in exotics. With all my characters, I think I can do 99% of the gw2 content (except fractals) and it’s extremely doable in exotics.. even in rares lol. Anet put a carrot for us to chase, ill just take a bite and leave instead of chasing it forever.
Why don’t we just all hug in a sad circle of tears
Interesting, it wouldn’t really bother me. It seems like that every poster who posted ‘’I am rank X, on leaderboards’’ are becoming tired of the grind, but they still put value into their rank X and wouldn’t like anybody who is motivated enough to catch them up, thus suggesting putting a cap on daily AP.
I sympathize more with the completionists.
I don’t really like Scarlet, but because of the devs failing to develop and deliver a compelling character, i’m actually glad that she’s kinda like a scapegoat. For example, I wouldn’t have liked it if they touched interesting characters from the GW1 lore, and deliver it like they do it like now.
I believe that the Edge of the Mists is a huge folly.
I like the idea of new maps. I don’t like the idea of pandering to servers who have huge queues simply because they have huge queues. Those people choose to be on the servers with queues, they should have to suck it up – that’s how population balance is supposed to happen.
I believe that giving them something to do instead of queuing will devalue the main Scoring-game, possibly to the point where people want to do Edge of the Mists instead of the Scoring-game.
When it comes to the smaller servers, I find it more difficult to think what may happen, but I think it could get people playing for it’s PvE content when the enemies are thin in number.
Just questioning you a bit:
Let’s say you’ve been on a low tier ranked server since day 1 and a bunch of WvW guilds transfers to your server. Your server rises up in rank and thus attracts lots of bandwagoners, and now, you’re stuck with 3hours+ queues. Should you still ‘’suck it up’’ even that you didn’t really choose to be a server with queues?
This entire thread is proof positive that people want to be raging mad about anything and everything…
Must be the cool thing to be on the internet these days…It’s an armor skin. One that if you don’t like you don’t have to buy. It doesn’t magically devalue the original at all.
Sure, anyone on any race can wear it (as long as they are light armor) so long as you don’t mind looking like a walking torch.
If a fire motif isn’t your thing though, and you want that armor, then guess what? You still have to be a female human light armor wearer and have the gold to spend. The differences are obvious and nobody is going to mistake someone who bought their t3 human cultural light armor with someone who bought the skin off of the gem store.
Let’s take this to the extreme. Would it be totally okay if Anet decided to put a version of Twilight with a fiery hilt and put it in the gemstone for 1000gems? Because if I thought that the fiery hilt is silly, by your reasoning, even though they look similar, if I don’t like it and prefer the original twilight, I should shell out 3000g on the TP.
The point is that it undermines the hardwork of people have put into getting these armor (And I think it was even harder back at launch). Some people will just shrug it off, but a lot of here cares about that.
with out the aura or footfalls or even the functionality of a legendary is it even really twilight?
I think I wasn’t clear, it’s exactly like twilight. It retains functions like switching stats(although that would be kinda P2W in the gemstore imo lol..) , aura, footfalls, etc. Only difference is the fiery hilt. It’s not the best example, but I want to take something extreme and apply his reasoning.

What is funny is that they actually took the time to take the T3 human cultural skin, and re-skin/re-clipping on male and female characters and do it for every race.
Actually, scarlet wasn’t alive when Abbadon fell…so there’s almost no way she could be involved.
That’s right. If people would have just voted Evon, we could have possibly had a break form Scarlet.
No bro she went back in time to kill abbadon
Abaddon would have slapped her silly.
Unless she is abaddon!
This is unacceptable, basically putting some particle effects on a T3 unique armor that everyone people worked hard for it and sell it for something less than 100+ gold. Open your eyes anet, if you find that acceptable, I would think that you find that it’s acceptable to put infinite light in the gemstore 800gems and recoloring it red. Unacceptable.

Props to Yak’s Bend, I think they’ve bested us in every aspect in WvW and i’m being honest.
I genuilely thank you for spoiling me, I cant believe they decided to throw her in… Ithis is going way too far.. for once we could get some credible lore.. nope. Ill wait a few weeks before playing it and focus on my finals
I also yawn at your thread.
While I agree that acquiring these skins should stay hard, do you even know what will be the drop rates at lvl 10? It could be very very rare that it wouldnt be even worth it to run lvl 10 fracts over again for getting these skins. But, no one knows..
Because some people moves on in life
I hope Scarlet have nothing to do with the Krait. The Krait are supposed to be vicious and xenophobics creatures. They believe that they are the superior species in the world and they never bother to cooperate or communicate with the other races… They attack and kill all other species on sight… I don’t see why they would work with Scarlet, except maybe some kind of really indirect manipulation…
“Here’s what we believe: If someone wants to play for a thousand hours to get an item that is so rare that other players can’t realistically acquire it, that rare item should be differentiated by its visual appearance and rarity alone, not by being more powerful than everything else in the game. Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games — we leave the grind to other MMOs.”- Mike O’Brien
What happened Anet? You said you didn’t want it to be a grinding game but it is and with more updates that you come out, you are not lowering the grinding of the game but you’re increasing it. Example? Ascended Weapon. The new halloween weapon.
I’ve grinded so much in this game its unbelievable spending over 400g to try and get dusk with no luck, farming hours and hours with no luck, and it is coming to the point where the only thing which is farming champs is becoming boring. I have 6 level 80s and sometimes i have nothing at all to do. I have no legendary but thats because i dont want to spend hour and hours grinding for it. I would do it if it wasn’t such a bore to do.
Please please please make this game less grindy like you said you would!
Discuss Freely =]
I will not deny that grind is present in this game. But it seems that you have taken some of the words out of context but you are also right about many things. They said that they believed that if you want to invest thousand of hours of grind, the item in question should be differentiated by their cosmetics. They don’t want you to grind for better stats. Which appropriately fits Legendary weapons(Although I agree that the RNG involved with the precursors have no place in this game) and Halloween skins for example. It’s still grind, it’s not fun, but they said they’re okay with it…
But they’ve surely backed out from what they’ve said when they introduced ascended gear with higher stats… and I totally agree that they have been mishandled. They were against grinding for better stats… but they introduced ascended weapons… which have a very big grind part in it.
I’ll always take their promises and what they’re saying with a grain of salt. Promises aren’t always fulfilled and their game philosophy can change. I’ve lowered a lot of my expectations for this game, which weirdly, i’ve been enjoying the game more with this mindset.
Server load may have increased a bit because it is tracking and updating everyone’s achievement in real time for every person on the map.. although it would surprise me that it loads the servers that much because there isn’t a lot of calculations to do. It surely must have some other causes too.. maybe some hidden tracking or something..
Move along. There’s nothing to see here.
Marjory Delequa and Lady Kasmeer are looking at the wrong way… It’s you! You’re suspicious. You must be a Krait who broke out of the mists and come to corrupt us!
Give the utility 5 stacks of might and fury for 15 seconds for the player and its nearby allies. Increase the revealed debuff to 5 seconds. Everyone down the thief!
