I’m pretty sure they have problems internally tweaking the precursor scavenger hunt difficulty. Make it too easy, everyone will get a legendary. Make it too hard, everyone will complain about it. But I think it should be really, really, really, really, really HARD to get it, but there must be a reliable way to get it. One thing is sure : The RNG needs to go away.

My theory is that they chose a very low number of testers (like less than 500). They got unlucky and it ended up on inactive accounts/players who are not playing the game anymore.

The stat boost is not even necessary. Why not just make them look better? I thought that we would have some kind of aesthetic progression. Ascended gear would be somewhat aesthetically between Legendary and Exotics.
Legendary (Looking absolutely Epic, but the current ones could get aesthetic upgrades) >> Ascended (Very good looking with special effects, but the current ones are kinda dissapointing) >> Exotics (Good looking). Meh, it’s a matter of taste in the end.

Really guys? 2 upleveled, guildless charr rangers firing cows at each other in Overlook. Can only attach one screen, so going with the one with the treb facing backwards towards inner keep.

Character and account names are Flame Legion Archer (Julian.7985) and The Demon I (Cynthia.6837).

Really? Best guess is SBI alts, since SBI owns SM atm, but really?

With free trials going on right now, every servers will get trolls, just like your server, YB and SBI. We actually lost many golems with trolls putting them randomly everywhere and suiciding them into hostile territory.

10/20/0/30/10, Engineer, Rabid Gear, Condition build, P/S – Elixir S,Tool Kit, Bomb Kit. – perma swift and perma vigor. Tool kit to pull visions into the light thingies. For phase 2, kiting around the room in a large circle and let the condition do the work. I used #5 Bomb, Big Bomb and #2 ToolKit to slow down the visions.
. Took me at least 50 tries + 3 tries when I switched to condi.

I liked the boss in general and the challenging stuff, but I didn’t really like the pulling orb. I thought it was a bit random. I also didn’t like the camera angles. Sometimes if you go around the edges of the arena, the camera zooms so much that it makes it hard to see anything.

Some people like playing the game in the most efficient way possible.
Some people find fun in just enjoying the experience.
Some people like to run/experiment what build whatever they like.
Some people just doesn’t care.
Etc.
It’s all subjective and there is no unique right way to play the game.

Just play with the people who fits your play style or the ones that doesn’t care. But, it is easier said that done.

I do that very often too, but retaliation hurts really bad. I must often takes short pauses to heal myself before going in again. 5-6 guardians/warriors hitting the door with retaliation, Attack #1 flame thrower = 10hits. 10hits x 5-6 ppl with retaliation = OUCH

Imagine 6-12+ months from now , when ascended gear will be all out and where it will make a significant difference in stats. If they don’t change the pace(i.e 6 weeks for an accessory?? Will ascended armor/weapon as difficult to get?), I feel for the new players who will start in a year. They will have so much to catch up, but they are gated in time, so it might be impossible.

I hope that i’m wrong.

No need to nerf the kit, gives us the option to have either ground targeting or auto attack. Auto-attack would be only efficient for stationary targets , supposing that it lands on the last recorded position(Like ground targeting automatically a target?) and it would save us from carpal tunnel. Ground targeting will be for more advanced tactics, like if you want to predict where your target gonna move and throw grenades ahead. We keep grenade dmg,speed and parabolic trajectory like normal. That’s what I think.

I would like to see some significant buff to Turrets as they are almost useless in WvW,sPvP or dungeons :

-Fix obvious current bugs
-Make them scale with our stats and increase their base health,armor and damage a bit.
-Keep current cooldowns and make them mobile like pets? I don’t know, just give them some form of mobility (Though it would make deployable turrets a bit insignificant) OR Keep them immobile but reduce their cooldowns (Way too long, imo)
-Increase rate of fire
-Maybe increase the repair turret rate with the toolkit (Too little currently, imo)

Any other ideas?

It seems like a lot of buffs, but it is maybe what we need to make them viable :/

Turrets just need CD adjustments IMO for sPvP, they are already viable unless you try to run a full turret spec, which has a single purpose with accelerated turrets trait, and that’s about it, and that’s turning a node into a living minefield.

I don’t play sPvP at a high level and I don’t really know about the metagame, so maybe i’m asking for too much. But, I would love to see a full turret spec viable and have turrets where they are supposed to be :

I agree, we must have a ranged limit for pets, but a large one, something like ~2000 range and have visual contact with the ranger.

I hope they include our weapon stats very soon I don’t think grenades are that overpowered, I often visit class forum and I never saw anyone complain about them It’s already very hard to hit moving targets :/ Anyway, you can nerf Engi to oblivion, i will stick with my engi!

Alt+F4 is no escape

Can you clarify that you will only die when you specifically use Alt+F4/killing the client process, or you will die in any form of disconnection (including accidental internet loss, client crash, etc)? Does the client recognize the difference between Alt+F4 and Internet disconnection/Client crash?

It balances better without botters. All the botters do is create a disproportion between the rich and poor. They’d get so rich that Anet would have to design a gold sink that regular players could never afford.

No it doesn’t, after ban waves a huge inflation appeared. In my country, the gov responds to inflation by increasing the salaries. In GW2 there is inflation, but the ‘salaries’ are not increased, we still get the same money from events or selling items to merchants.

In the United States, the gov. respond by bailing out the Banks(They’re like somewhat botters) by having the FED to print money, therefore valuating the US$ and making your money worth less = you buy less stuff. Sorry for not being on topic.

I do think they’re fine.. their burst are counterable if you see it coming. But I find that it’s very annoying when I successfully block/evade their burst or nothing goes their way , they can escape without a lot of punishment by popping stealth skills and short bow their way out.. No way, I can catch them with my engineer even with perma-swiftness if they play it right ;( But hey, they’re designed to be like that ; being able to pick their fights at their advantage and having the best escape abilities when something goes wrong makes a perfect assassin/thief.

That is a AMAZING build, I will try this out for sure.

Wouldn’t you be even more tanky-cat if you dropped maybe Cloaking Device for Protective Shield and maybe exchange 409 or Self-regulating defenses for Protection Injection? It seems these traits will trigger more because one is on crit, (20sec cooldown) and the last one, it triggers on whenever you are disabled whenever you are disabled (5sec cooldown).
It would really well synergise with your traits because of 30% boon duration from alchemy tree. Combine this with Superior rune of the Earth (20% Protection duration AND 25% chance to trigger protection for 4sec and gain magnetic aura if below 20% health, which is basically a Shield#4) or Superior rune of the Forge(+20% Protection duration and 10sec protection if 50% health).

With your very high armor and protection which reduce incoming damage by 33% which triggers very often + all your other survivability&utility skills + all shield skills…

I’m of course theorycrafting a little bit :P What do you think?

I don’t have a lot of time for posting, so it will be very short!

-Phase 1 : A lot of lag, unplayable but everyone got to participate
-Phase 2 : I didn’t had problems following the story, but I hear a lot of people did and missed out a lot of conversation and lore. It would be nice to have some indication on the map where to go, etc (Sorry if I didn’t saw it on the map)
-Phase 3 : I didn’t get the time to participate in it, but from what I heard, the reinforcement part was really tedious and long, I suggest to not extend something like that for that long. And because it’s a one time event, DC problems was spreading and not everyone had their rewards. A loot of complaints and a lot of them were legitimate even though I would appreciate less flaming.
Verdict : 4/10

-FoTM : Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaziiiiiiiiiiiiiing!
Verdict : 9.5/10
- Southsun Cove : I like this map! Attention to detail is remarkable!
Verdict : 8.5/10

Overall : 7.33/10 (Considering each part equal)

My suggestions : I know you guys maybe limited in resources and I do a lot of work in numerical programming ; so I understand all the bugs and stuff, it’s pretty hard when I’m trying to look for a line in 985729385729 pages of code.

-I think it’s possible, make it the one-time event instanced like personal stories(party up?) or the mad clock tower (Spread out people in different instances) accessible for like one week. It would solve all problems of people not being able to participate in it due to time restrictions and maybe it would also solve all the lag issues and invisible monsters that most people were complaining about.

But, Anet is awesome! Please bring more content and I have faith in you guys and I know that you guys work really hard!

New Zone Difficulty

I don’t find it that difficult, just don’t mob 4+ at the same time and they aren’t as packed like Orr, and I think it’s fine

Young Karkas : Dodge first volley or block them with shield or something and you’ll be fine

Veteran Karkas : They are really harder 1v1 but I’ve managed to solo some of them, but get away from the obvious rolling as they will one shot you or almost (It was really funny to see a full zerg get rolled by the karka and see all of them downed xD). But it’s a bit long and a small mistake hurts a lot. But, they’re meant to be taken down in groups, meet some people and gather up or run with your mates!

Drakes : Don’t get too close to them or they’ll stack a llooooot of confusion and it hurts, use condition removal. Manageable

The new level zones in the Xpacs shouldn’t be all 80+, they could just add a mix of low and high level zones(They should try to make them attractive also, unlike the mid-level zone atm :/), add personal story(continued) related to them. The only thing that will be needed is a proprer downscale, no need to increase level cap

If we compare the Yakkington’s Ring and the exotic Exploring Ring comparison image from the blog, we can obviously assess this:

Yakkington’s Ring vs Exo Exp Ring
+5 more power for Yakk
+5 more precision for Yakk
+ 3% more magic find for Yakk
+ Unused infusion slot for Yakk

So it’s clearly better, but not game breaking, even if you are full ascended gear which probably will probably you approximately 80-100 points of bonus stats(not sure, stats mismatch could be higher with other type of gear), until we know what the infusion slots do.

What we don’t really know for sure:

-How easy it will be to get that gear?
We can speculate that it will be time as it is supposed to give players a sense of progressions, but we don’t know for sure until we tried it and that only concerns the rings. We don’t know about the other types of ascended gear.

-What will infusion slots do?
I don’t know. Let’s wait and try it! According to this article

It looks likes the infusion slots is PvE focused, but it could be stats bonuses.

The most important thing is that all this agony and ascendent stuff adds more vertical gear progression to the game, even if the benefits are small, the players always want to have the best in slot gear to be on par with other players in PvE and WvW content. And this is going against Anet philosophy who advocated ‘’no more vertical gear progression for the best omagad grind gear’’. But it can be understandable that this kind of progression is added in the game, because content is eaten so fast.

What I would have liked to see instead of this vertical gear progression, here is my feedback and this feedback not only concern the ascended gear:
- Ascended trinkets and gear adds new cosmetic value to your character instead of bonus stats. I thought that this game was a grind for cosmetics and I was fine with that. (Ascended gear adds cool shiny awesome auras? Changes the animations/colors of your skills? Allows more dye customization on the gear(I.E instead of 3 choice of dyes on a gear, maybe we can get 5? New weapon and armor skins! Plenty of possibilities)

-I think the agony system is fine if it makes your life a bit easier, but I don’t think it should be required to play through certain content of the game. If you want to make certain part of the dungeon more restrictive, it should be overcome through knowledge of the dungeon mechanics and skill, not gear. I know that dungeons are not required content, but all of them should be accessible when one feels like doing it. But, it can be tweaked.

-There is so much content in dynamic events, environment, beautiful landscape, so much effort put in voice acting, npc random and funny dialogue, that are not being appreciated because everyone is stuck at Orr farming Plinx. I think better high-end rewards should be spread out throughout the world with adjusted difficulty we have incentive to do them. But, you are not required to explore the world. Even though it is not really rewarding to explore and seek for these dynamic events, I do it, because I enjoy it.

-And all the stuff that I hope Anet will implement and may have been already discussed:
Building houses, house customization, furniture crafting, mystic forge recipes for furniture, more s/tPvP modes, better matchmaking, more skins, domestic pets, guild halls, guild vs guild features, more extensive guild customization(customizable banner with uploaded images?), more gem stuff goodies like new emotes, new costumes, etc etc etc…

While I agree that the chests/skin are too tied to RNG, you should be responsible with your actions.

I didn’t know what were the exact drop rate. The only information we had is ‘a chance’ or ‘a rare chance to drop…’. Yes, I think they could give us the exact RNG number, but I told to myself:

Well, heck, I don’t even know what is the drop rate is, why in the world I would blow my money on something uncertain.

Well, Anet should have released the drop rate numbers, it could have spared them so many problems.
