First of all, movement is actually slowed while you’re in combat, so don’t worry about your hardware
I just downloaded the Nvidea driver update and tried GW2, and the performance changed from perfect to horrible. I can’t say 100% sure this came from the Nvidea update, but it’s still shady
EDIT: rebooting fixed the driver bug, stupid of me to forget that in the first place XD

I know it’s not a fix, but the Asuran racial armors have ear-holes. Plus, they look kittening awesome
There’s a little circle in southern Lion’s Arch that’s shaped just like the Arenanet logo, and it’s called Tenanera’s Pit.
Read that backwards.
I think the weapon strength only applies to the weapon skills that are tied to it. For example: the weapon strength of your main-hand dagger would influence the damage of skills 1, 2 and 3, while your off-hand dagger would boost skills 4 and 5.
Actualy, this skin is offered as a karma reward in multiple zones.
As far as I know, Kessex Hills has the whole set apart from the helmet, spread over a few heart event karma vendors. Also, Snowden Drifts OR Lornar’s Pass (dunno which one) has it.
Sigil of Accuracy only works on the weapon it’s slotted in. For example: slotting it in a main-hand axe will only give the 5% increase for skills 1-3. Using another sigil in your off-hand axe would give 5% for skills 4 and 5. Slotting a sigil in a two-handed weapon gives the increase for 1-5, of course.
Adding to the last post, if you get the Rocket Boots you can do it even more often! While crossing even more distance! And you even get a free roundhouse-kick-to-the-face F-skill!
But yes, elixer gun is awesome.
The ranger has some nice speed tools as well, there’s a passive movement speed signet as well as the elite Rampage as One that gives a long swiftness.
Using a full set of Superior Rune of the Centaur can give you 12 seconds swiftness every 15 seconds (assuming you use a 15-second cooldown heal skill), add some Boon Duration or another easy way to give swiftness and you’re permanently at 33% which is the speed cap.
I use this myself on a Thief, with a trait that gives 2 seconds of swiftness on dodging.
I’d say try Caudecus’ Manor or Ascalonian Catacombs on story mode to get a little feeling for the dungeons. That way you can find a role you like to play in groups, and then find traits/gear to compliment that role.
If it was fire, it might be the Fiery Dragon Sword, which is a Hall of Monuments reward skin.
I couldn’t agree more!
(Even though, just like you, I like answering questions)
As far as I know, transmuting removes the soulbound characteristic (At least it works for the ‘starter’ stuff like hoods/pauldrons).
Apparently, the NPC prefixes only concern the stats of the armor, but the skin is the same.
Correct me if I’m wrong though. (I hope I am…)
I’m gonna give the cliché answer: it really depends on your build…
Ask a leatherworker what different stat combinations are craftable, and if there’s nothing for you there, try karma vendors. Or the other way around :p
Hi all,
I switch targets sometimes, but not before “calling a target” so that I can reverse back to the original when I need to. Then when I hit “take target”, my target will switch to my original target (my desired outcome) but I will still be attacking things I don’t have targeted (not my desired outcome). Why would I be attacking something that isn’t my target? The mob in question isn’t standing between me and my desired target or anything.
To attack your ‘called target’, pressing 1 (or any other skill) uses the skill on the called target, and then you keep attacking that one, as far as I know.
That’s all I can say about it though, since I haven’t tested targeting too much.
I hope this helps a little.
I laughed a bit at the name of the set. People who’ve played Guild Wars 1 will know :p
Ah, I read that wrong then. I do agree with your statement then. More skins ftw!
There’s ridiculous piles of influence to be gained in WvW. I don’t have any experience with only one person doing it, but our small (3-5 players) group got a ton of it.
This is indeed the Priory greatsword. I don’t think they’re Priory-only, but I haven’t checked, so don’t quote me for it. =)
You could train up an alt, unlock the armor vendor, buy armor and transmute it over for you first character, right?
That would cost a lot of gold though.
Since everyone prices their stuff way too low on the TP, I usually buy some random green/gold armor from it for nearly nothing. As Jezath said, you can get karma stuff as well, although I’d advice against buying too much karma gear, since you’ll need all the karma you can get when you start farming karma for a lvl 80 exotic armor piece.
Oh and for the record, you can’t steal anything equippable with thieving skills. Only one-use items (that don’t end up in your inventory but on your skillbar).
There’s different prefixes to every armor, they decide what stats (and stat distribution) it has. For the highest-level armor the names are throwbacks to GW1 characters. For example, Galrath’s armor has power, precision and condition damage (iirc, can’t login right now).
If I remember correctly, it’s the medium tier 3 Norn cultural armor.
I use my ranger as a support-ish class in dungeons. With a shortbow, trap skills and a spider pet (jungle/black widow spiders), you can get a LOT of snares/roots. Add an area-of-effect heal skill (Healing Spring) and you can keep a lot of damage off your teammates, assuming they can kite decently. And the DPS is still fair, too.
