Turning 26 next month and now you made me feel like kitten thank you!
I haven’t perceived any decline though, but probably I wouldn’t feel it either. I’m also playing fast paced FPS games, which I’m pretty good at, a lot better than I used to be.
No young people will feel the satisfaction of holding Heroes Ascent for hours though during the peak of GW1 teenage days

Also, why are tier 2 Gold players on same team as top 20 players?
Low population.

It’s a well known hack. Don’t get yourself fooled. Same thing they use for teleportating around the map – not sure about the mechanic but there will be others who can explain it.
You can report it under Support to Customer Service btw, I did the same last time (although they asked me to report it in game, obviously which noone cares about)

Really like the changes, Fire and Air sigils were way too powerful, Relevance sigil is just a great idea, not just against thieves but those annoying druid stealth spam as well.
Hoped they would be introduced this season though
I just really hope Anet focuses more on these kind of aggressive changes regardless of all the QQ here. There are still a few useless sigils but in general it brings much needed nerfs and new options. People simply don’t like nerfs.

There’s also a reason why any team with more than 1 Necro loses far more times than other class stacking (maybe thief but Anet would have to confirm).
Totally untrue imo.

Title says it all. What would you guys recommend for a duo for sPVP?
Friend would probably want to play a warrior, if that helps.
If he is going to play warrior, probably druid is your best bet

I almost always encounter the exact opposite in Gold. Mesmer runs to close without being asked to do so, caps it, comes to mid. Close gets decapped and mesmer just keeps fighting in mid, no portal is opened.
This happened so many times that I usually ask now before the match if the mesmer plays with portal. The answer is typically yes but the outcome still the same most of the time.
This is also very situational. Many times it’s advantageous to steamroll the enemy team at mid to start the snowball effect at the cost of losing the cap on close.
Long White Hair – among others
Agree. Happened multiple times that after seeing some top50 players in the enemy team the teammates start b*tching immediatly about how bad matchmaking is etc. instead of focusing on the not-so-impossible task of beating them.
Long White Hair – among others
Because of the mobility a mesmer brings + portal he can go close, easily catch up to mid and go back to close without much of a problem in no time.
At least if you play the meta build
Not sure about that. The mobility of a mes is a bit of a myth compared to some other classes. Mes has a 30 sec blink skill + 25% movement speed if spec’d into chrono. Eles, warrs, rangers and thieves have far more mobility (in this case to cover greater distances in a short time) than mes in and out of combat. Portal is not carried by many mes from what I’ve seen + doesn’t help you get to mid.
As probably around 90% of the mesmers run the meta chrono condi, you also have Phase Retreat on staff which operates as a shorter range Blink in the right hands with a very low CD.
Furthermore, any decent mesmer must carry portal (I think almost all of them does), which is one of the best utility skills in the game for pvp. Just watch how many threads are being opened with the amount of tears, complaining about portals.
And with portals, you can get back to close in no time to stop the enemy decapping it, that’s the logic behind it.
Personally I prefer to use portal in an offensive way depending on the enemy comp, as many times a close portal just goes into waste

It does seem more popular than in the last 2-3 seasons, based on personal observation (EU)
Most likely it’s the new leaderboard system that makes people play a lot more, and probably the new rewards brought in a lot of new pvp players.

Worst idea ever.

So how do you know in your team noone had 1800+ rating? And I suppose you know the enemy team’s MMR too and you are basing your assumptions on that.
Higher tier players also have to be matched with players, you can’t always make teams with 10 players of equal rating.
My guess is that either your team had higher rating players, or the enemy team had multiple lower rating ones. Teams are evened out.
Also people seem to go crazy when they have to play against 1 or 2 higher tier players, you can imprive with that, not by bashing scrubs.
Also, MMR does not equal rating still.
Teams should always be made ~300 rating points of players.
What? Why? If a player with 2k MMR is matched with players of 1400 MRR, how is that not even in terms of teams?
Long White Hair – among others
Posting screenshots about something which is working as intended won’t help you by the way.
Low division here, i hate it when mesmer becomes daily (and i main mesmer) because then there are teams of 2-4 mesmer per team and the bad part, 90% don’t know how to play mesmer (otherwise it would be fine)
But this happens only if there is no low-skill-cap class daily
Yep, that’s definitely a problem. And also very easy to solve by ArenaNet

This thread is so useless.
If you have “bad” stacked classes, then one of you should be switching if you really want to win. If a class is stacked because it’s too good, then it needs nerfed. There is no need to restrict class stacking.
LOL. This is the stupidest thing I have ever read.
Yea I can switch. How bout the other 2 people on the team if They don’t want to?
1.) Not everyone WANTS to switch.
2.) Not everyone WANTS to communicate either.
3.) Not Everyone MULTICLASSES
4.) What if they don’t wanna switch? So do I deserve to lose because of other people not wanting to switch?
5.) If there are 2 or more classes Stacked. We HAVE NO WAY to tell What are they running. UNLESS THEY communicate, what if they Don’t?
6.) If A class is STACKED then it needs to NERFED? LOL. What if they are running 2 different builds?
So much BS on your post man.
He is totally right though. Why does it actually bother you if you have duplicate classes? Like he said, balance is the problem, the DH stacking is getting out of hand because of it’s low reward play, and most people get annoyed like hell after running into dozens of traps on a small node.
Anet gives you the opportunity to solve this, but people ’don’t want to switch’. Then play and win the game as it is.
Most of your arguments don’t even make sense to be honest. You are talking like stacking a class in a team means instant loss for you. Sorry to say but it’s still roughly 90% skill and 10% team composition, there are only a very few cases where this doesnt apply (e.g. 5 thieves vs 5 DH-s, how many times you see that).
You want to get rid of class stacking, at the same time you also want to separate them by build? Because simple class stacking wouldn’t solve your ‘problem’.
People like blaming losses and everything on team compositions, then you would have the same team compositions again and again and you would be still totally steamrolled (and the other way around) every now and then.
Personally I find it absolutely diverse when you have to play against weird compositions, it makes you adapt your gameplay every time. Would be ridiculously boring to play against almost the same compositions every time.
And people talking about adding class stack restrictions and removing in prep time switching imagine the amount of tears after you still get bad setups with that and you have absolutely no chance to switch
PS: One thing I’m totally in for, change those class dailies. In my ranked tiers, it’s not a problem at all, but I can imagine it being terrible for lower tiers, and much more in unranked (as I’ve seen it every now and then)

People bashing builds without ever playing it, funny. If you ever played ele or mes on a decent level you would know they are very far from being braindead builds, even if you are average you better be playing some more buttonbasher roles.
Long White Hair – among others
I’m pretty sure when there are multiple duos in the team, their overall MMR is way lower. I never seem to lose against 2 duoq-s at the enemy team.
for example:
your team has an avg MMR of 1800 without any duoq
enemy team has an avg MMR of 1700 with 2 duoq
This is just a guess based on my experiences. And it looks totally fine like that

Looks like too many people reached legendary rank is previous system…too many.
Eh it was easy to expect so much salt on forums. 4 seasons in row people where living like in dream that everything is possible if you have time (totally Anet fault).
After wake up slap it will take some time for people to reasonably think about new ranked system. Then maybe someday we will have some discussion about mmr and crazy things that sometimes happens (system is not perfect).
I totally agree with this. Everyone thinks they belong to legendary because they were in that division in the past seasons, but it was ridiculously easy to reach the first tier of legendary.
I also expected myself to get in the new legendary division, but after quite a few matches it seems I’m mostly playing with / against players of equal skill at mid plat level, so probably that’s where I belong. Hard to face the truth

How to carry with en auramancer ele ?
I can’t do. the same like hellseth with an ele
Sure u can go far and play there 1v2 oder 1v3 but I wont get a kill
And i also don’t get a kill in a 1v1.
So what’s the best way to carry as an ele ? Support crappy mates in teamfights and then they lose it anyways ?
Or just go far and do the same stuff like hellseth with a mesmer ?
Probably duoq is the way to go if you are playing ele. Just keep asking the better players in your random teams for a few duoq matches

It’s OP because I SAY SO!
Tell you what either make a mesmer and show us your ESL gameplay or /thread
I could probably reroll mesmer after 1 day and improve my rating just because of how op the clone spam is
This just shows your ignorance and lack of clue about mesmer in general. How many mesmers do you see per team in any tier? If it was so easy and op, why isn’t everyone playing it?
I seriously hope you will roll mesmer and actually try playing it. You will fail miserably I bet. You need LOADS of practice to make it viable in spvp in any tier. And then, you will still face hard counters, which is why you have better mobility than most of the other classes.
Long White Hair – among others
Noone looks into the reports so don’t bother.
Long White Hair – among others
First matchup is an easy win with that combination for your team with players of equal skills. I really don’t think you can blame that on the compositions.
Long White Hair – among others
OP is a great example of not being aware of class mechanics of mesmer, even though suggesting he also plays it.
Chrono condi mes is one of the builds with you should never, ever spam. I’m not even going to debate the other points, but double moa hurts my eyes so bad. There are ridiculously few cases when you should double moa to lose it for ~30% of the game..
Btw main point of the topic stands, problem is more the DH / war and maybe necro (but the whole design of the class is spammy) type classes, where you can spam pretty much any ability and you have a high chance of getting a kill. Necro is slightly smaller problem because it is actually very squishy unlike the other two.
Long White Hair – among others
Without reading any of the posts here:
Out of 15 matches I usually get 2-3 which are lost by MORE than 100 pointsRest are pretty close. This pattern is valid for my roughly 150-200 matches. For me it looks quite balanced. And when it’s more than 100 points it’s usually the fault of duoq-s or dual duoq-s in one team (not always though)
(High hold / low plat atm)
Long White Hair – among others
You can test it yourself. Add all your teammates and the enemies into friendlist and you will see their rating (normal playing times) will be really close to yours (+-20). So no, it does seem to use rating for matchmaking.
OR: the system does use a different MMR, but then it is reallllyy sticky to your rating

Lmao 3 soft counter classes of necro how surprising.
Only one I agree with is the new war MaceShield/GS combo, sustain is a bit over the top there (personally playing that too from time to time).
Long White Hair – among others
Just a short question
Condi Chrono and Scrapper.
Reapers with heavy CC can also work, and carrion, burn based G/DH albeit not as effective in PvP vs power DH (due no dire tats) do press a lot them due they force meditrappers to spent their cd very fast.
Sorry what lol. Condi chrono. Any decent DH will rip you apart (aka one who can dodge/block moa at least)
Long White Hair – among others
only thing I’m bothered with is that their trap CD starts refreshing when they put they on the floor rather than when they are triggered.
Ranger traps work the same way too………
DH traps do 10x the damage.
Only if your dumb enough to stand in them. I really don’t get what’s so hard about not standing in the traps.
Why are you being so ignorant? Your point means melee classes should avoid fighting DH-s right? And even if you are not a melee, take the example of condi mesmer, you can trigger the traps with the clones – but the problem persists, as it’s still impossible to hold / cap against DH-s on small points (90% of nodes in ranked). How big advantage is that?

Today my laptop disconnected from the router mid match at even points (around 200:200) in a ranked game. Got back in around 2 minutes at 340:240 to the enemy team, easily turned the game around and won, only to see I got desertion and -12 rating. I even topped 3 stats..
Probably it’s some kind of a time limit, but out of 13 minutes I was active for around 11. What’s the point of giving a kitten desertion for that?
Long White Hair – among others
all the good players lose all their games and go on massive lose streaks
No they don’t. Unless by good players you meant bad players.
Long White Hair – among others
It’s too late now, but I totally agree. The matchmaking system seems to be really good now, but the early placement and differences is just bad. We should have had a total reset and climb without division placement.
