I believe people were crafting rares to salvage for ectos when it rose from 40c to 50c. Not sure about the 80c spike.

Eh, don’t trouble yourself with moving it out of your own citadel! It would be fun to walk a 50 man raid into your spawn and join in It really shouldn’t be so easy that an enemy can walk right up the hill into your own citadel and stealth past Legendary Defenders. Not so Legendary now are they lol…

I enjoyed it after I stopped getting sent back to the waiting area while not missing a jump yet. Some other people in my guild had the random teleport out bug happen to them as well.

I wish there was a timer so if you reach the end in a certain timeslot, you get X reward. If you reach the end in a later time slot, you get Y reward. I can see how this jumping puzzle would be hard for some older people that don’t have the First Person Shooter reflexes all of us kids and young adults have these days. Having to progress super fast in a quick jumping game isn’t going to be appreciated by 100% of your player base and I feel that it can be brought closer to 100% with a ticking timer instead of a forced time window.

Never actually used a golem so I’m not sure if it has it’s own rules, but other siege the owner can take control whenever they feel like.

Unless there was a hotfix recently, you can’t reclaim ownership of the Golem like other siege weapons. This is why you get trustworthy people to try and hop in it really quick when it’s built.

First time in EB jumping puzzle ever on my newly geared out 80 guardian(first char) and being jumped by 3 underleveled guys camping the dark room. Sword/Torch and somehow won a 1v3… 80 exotics > lowbies apparently

Sounds like a start. I hope breakout events aren’t a complete failure and exploited within the first day somehow which makes WvW worse while waiting for February lol.

lol… and this is why I haven’t played my ranger lately when I have a Guardian for support and Thief for glass cannon zerg busting dps to choose from. I just wouldn’t want to make anyone cry if I used my OP Ranger. I wonder how many players have alt-f4’d from Rangers to deny 1v1 kills lately.

I used to hate Mesmers until I rolled one and played it in sPvP for a couple hours. Once I understood their moves and limitations, it became much easier to fight them. The same applied to thief when I rolled one(to actually play in WvW). I’d say 90% of thieves in WvW are glass cannon thieves that aren’t very good. Once you know what their animations and most likely skill rotations are, it’s fairly easy to counter. It’s even funnier dodging twice and having the super bad thieves waste 4 heart seekers on nothing.

The lesson is that knowledge is power. Getting wrecked by glass cannon thieves the first 10 times might be frustrating but you have three choices…

1. Go straight to forums and complain that you died really quick to a glass cannon spec so class must be OP
2. Learn about the thief and how to counter it
3. Do nothing about it and continue to get wrecked.

I guess that wasn’t really what the OP was questioning, but those were some thoughts. It would be nice to have culling fixed to see if good players still do as well on their thieves.

To answer the question – I don’t mind fighting invisible enemies because they’re not doing damage to me while I can still aoe them down.

Cutting the Siege + Upgrade costs in half
4 different maps

-Give the Red(lowest matchup rating) a map with a sizable advantage.
-Give the Blue(middle matchup rating) a map with a decent advantage.
-Give the Green(highest matchup rating) a map with a very minimal advantage.

Throw in EB and you have 4 maps. Obviously that might be difficult balance wise and how it might effect ratings and 2v1 scenarios, but that’s something I came up with 1 minute of thought. I have faith in ANet whether I should or not. Actually, it’s more like hope. I really HOPE the February update is awesome. I really HOPE it’s on 1st week of February instead of the last week. I hope it’s not a letdown like the November 15th “Ranger Update” lol!

Already in the process of transferring our guild over. Having some issues finding a time DB isn’t “Full” but we’ve managed to maybe get a total of 20 over within a day during odd times. We’ll probably be doing really small groups and having fun, then expecting the majority of our 2 guilds to be over here by Reset on Friday giving us 40ish a night to work with.

I know there will be hardcore players out there, but, sorry for my upcoming offensive tone, if you are truely hardcore, you’ll be spending more time, more effort than anyone else, and since you are a hardcore player, and you cannot ask any non-hardcore player to be like you, because being hardcore is not fun to them.

from video above dodge is disabled, in Taiwanese server where LARP is from thief endurance regen is best. Dodging and swiftnesss boon are permenant for us and we can move quickly in and out of fights to kill many others players from shadows. Can also stack might stacks from dodge for more evade and killing. dodging is important to medium classes. because it causes evade more frequently. TO play thief is playing like fast nimble crane. Must have mostt excellent reflexes required.

Good point. My thief is/was a flavor of the month glasscannon backstab thief that I crafted up from 15-80. I really need to redo everything on him including learning how to play something other than D/D+SB. After rewatching the video it’s crazy how little I dodged during those 2 fights /facepalm I know my thief could be better if I put some work into him, definitely not close to even being good on him. I know I’m much more skilled on my guard and ranger as I’ve had tons more playtime on them. I also have a tendency to just go on auto pilot when there’s a ton of stuff going on my screen and lots of voices in TS3 going which results in Daggerstorm and Cluster bomb spamming with no dodge as you saw lol…

The point of the video was that there were alot of DR out tonight which resulted in quite a few fun fights while I only showed 2. Also, I think violin dubstep is cool.

Couple fights from tonight. First time I’ve had random large fights at the Temple of Storms.

I’ll continue to take 150 badges in ~5 hours especially when it’s this fun whether we win or lose the matchup. The bigger the zerg the more badge possibilities!

lol that’s what I decided around last Tuesday Darxio… I haven’t really ran my Commander tag since then and just been small grouping looking for zergs to kill. It’s more fun and less stressful!

Aint that the truth! iSpy and WAR were everywhere. I went afk to go to the bathroom and a thief from iSpy jumped out of my shower at me.

Before that a zerg of WAR, iSpy had their way with me in uncomfortable ways. it was so bad that two guys held my hand in a circle while a third used it as an additional orifice.

but, I will admit, I am let down that a whole zerg of K Alt-F4’d during a rendering bug so I when they rendered they were already gone, making it seem perhaps I had made it all up…

I would be happy if they cut the price of siege in half. Let the average casual person be able to afford siege without having to grind the Trading Post or do jumping puzzles for them. Or make it able to be purchased with karma…

Tonight was probably the most fun I’ve ever had in WvW. We ran without a commander tag with the sole focus on killing players, and not caring about map control. Didn’t care about flipping objectives, just running to wherever the enemy players were to kill people. We tried to get any fight we could at supply camps and towers, preferably away from enemy cannons

We were rolling with a total of about 20 iSpy and WAR throughout the night. We ended up meeting up with a lot of the other members of Kaineng that was on the map at Golanta Clearing when we noticed DR just broke through outer SM gate. Just like all night long, we headed to kill players! What’s more fun than a 3 way battle in a 3 faction game?!?!

It was my first night with fraps since I have a big enough HDD and strong enough processor to run the game with more than 5 fps finally. First video I’ve ever made, just threw it together with some music that probably doesn’t go with it, but I liked it in the theatre!

I hope the scavenger hunt thing for precursors I heard about somewhere come out during the December update. I’d like to get my Dusk for under 100 gold by next summer lol… Would be interesting to see the hit the precursors would take on the market then!

Just logged back in and my 173 gold was in the pickup tab. Delayed and didn’t go POOF this time like 2 months ago when I lost 80.

I think you guys are overestimating queue times on all servers. I don’t believe there’s even 1 server with queues on all 4 maps at once anymore. I’m willing to bet most servers that are more populated have a queue in 2(if that) and then smaller groups in the other 2.

This makes me wonder, what selling point does a lower tier server have anymore to WvW guilds? No queues, come to us, doesn’t work anymore. I can only imagine if any large amounts of people transferred to lower tier servers, they would be wanting to be Top Dog and act like they own the server which most servers won’t enjoy.

I didn’t panic last time when I lost 80 gold and patiently waited 2 weeks. Submitted tickets and they gave me the “we can’t do anything about it, better luck next time” reply just like they did to everyone else. Yes, the trading post sometimes is delayed and you get it. No, it hasn’t happened every time the trading post started bugging out.

Just removed 180 gold worth of buy orders in my morning trading post shift. Little did I know the game was having issues with connections and other stuff. Gold is not showing up in pickup tab. I’m going to give it awhile, but if this happens again that the Trading Post goes down on ANet’s end and I’m not reimbursed like the incident 2 months ago(80 gold then) I’m going to FLIP THE KITTEN OUT.

We’ve noticed the same Chaster. It truly is disheartening to see such promise at the onset, only to have the continuity of it become problematic. I myself was wondering what had changed over the course of the past few days leading to us actually taking the lead.

Meh, guess the world guild leader conference, and the lead during the weekend, was really sprung me high in hope I guess. And seeing how DR’s one-night-cathcing-up-300k points slams myself really hard on the ground.

Chaster didn’t get the memo that APEX bailed the day after the big commander conference we had They’re on DR now, most likely still waiting for 7 day transfer cooldown to come back up for the majority of their guild.

Being on Kaineng, I was just thinking about servers being merged together because of low populations. When the alliance I’m in moved to Kaineng 2 months ago from Dragonbrand we were seeking no queues. Dragonbrand at that time was ranked #6 and in Tier 2. There were 30+ minute queues on all 4 maps at once as it was just about 1 month after launch of the game. Now that a ton of players have experienced the game for a couple months and are playing more casually or even left, I assume the servers are less jam packed. I really feel like Tier 8 should be merged into whatever servers they deem fit because they’ve served their purpose of opening up space for the initial rush to the game. Now that it’s died down a ton, it’s really hard to find Dungeon groups and WvW could be better. I really don’t want to have to transfer off towards greener grass and wish anet could solve the problems for us by merging. If we as a community have to transfer off to kill the servers forcing anet’s hand… I’m not looking forward to doing that.

I kind of rambled on at the end, late at night.

As the title says, what classes playing which roles would you have while planning to go against 2-3 times your numbers with the intention of busting up zergs for tons of loot and fun?

I’m interested to see your group makeups.

I’d say we have more NFL fans or church people that were absent during the earlier part of Sunday which resulted in us losing SM. Friday/Saturday was fairly even with even very short queues in EB and Kain BL at the same time. My speculation is that we have more casual players on the server that hop out on weekends, then they stop during the weekdays due to whatever reason it may be. You’ll then see the same guilds out there during the nights of the week trying to do whatever they can during our Prime-time 7pm-12am EST followed up with SoS at 6am-12pm EST or around there.

We have 2 big 6 hour gaps during weekdays, so until we get more people I would suggest playing for pure fun instead of points. I burned myself out 2 weeks ago playing 6-8 hours a night for 4 nights straight and ended up still losing to DR’s day/night capping. There’s only so much you can do point wise when the other server has better 24/7 coverage which is why I only try and play 3-5 hours attempting to have as much fun as I can out during US prime-time.

We’ll be playing Eredon’s Terrace in 2 weeks not because DR’s rating is going up enough, but because ET’s rating will drop that much. Keep your chin up and have fun everyone.

When Kain keep needed help, he was busy wiping his zerg. When outer was breached, he was still wiping on SM. When kain was back in their Lords room, he was still wiping, for a total of 3 wipes on SM. More than enough time for Kain to rampage through their keep, through Bravost, through Quentin, through Danelon.

And then he has the audacity to claim it was “strategy”, that it was all done to strip the upgrades on SM, as if he did something to help ferg take it. I have more resentment for that one commander(sic) than I’ve ever had for ferg and kain combined.

Been holding our whole BL with 3 waypoints up due to our server starting to work together even more now. Held SM since we capped it on the reset night. These feats might not seem impressive, but are major improvement from last week. Kaineng is looking brighter by the day.

Maybe DR has more people spending time with their family throughout the whole weekend and not just Thursday. Maybe they are just tired of WvW from putting out a good showing last couple weeks. Maybe they didn’t get to see the new Twilight movie last weekend and had to go watch it this weekend repeatedly. Maybe they are so confident about their 24/7 coverage during the 5 day week that they don’t really care about the weekend. Maybe I should stop speculating and go kill people!

Well this score update feels weird.

Had a blast tonight. Sick job by Kaineng for holding SM from double teams when maybe 7 walls were under 10% for a good couple hours. Put in my 6 hours and I’m tired. EB action just would not stop, very competitive all night. I heard Kaineng even had 1 minute queues on both our BL and EB at the same time.

I hope the weekend at least continues to be competitive, then the week day/night capping will turn things around I’m sure.
