Anyone know a cooler one that isn’t the Legendary?

There was a really high chance of getting named exotics from the one time event chest this weekend which included weapons(precursors) and armor. Then it ended up not being one time with people looking/creating new overflows that haven’t finished the event, letting them run the event maybe 5 times that day if they really wanted to.

I feel a little bad for the couple people I know who turned dollars->gems->gold for 20g+ named exotics a month or two ago. Now would be the time to stock up on the named item with special stats for your alts.

Had some fun for 3 1/2 hours in Kaineng and then DR BL. Random patches are annoying…

I imagine the Lost Shores update is hurting every server’s population out in WvW. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Fractal dungeon. Then again I’ve only done the first level or so and haven’t felt like I’m progressing through an endless treadmill yet!

Looking forward to working with any new guilds that decide to make the move!

Sorry to disappoint :\ I had a later than normal dinner and didn’t make it out till 8 EST. Maps started to turn blue, had good fights, and even some fun! I logged now so you can have fun picking on unorganized guys and pound your chests Kaineng could use a few good commanders that are useful, for the other members of the server that are not in WvW guilds so that our success won’t be heavily dependent on 4 commanders that pretty much only play together during US prime time.

Wv3 is a 24/7 game and you guys brought it with your coverage vs our maybe 8 hours of coverage. I know some of us were expecting some help on the off hours, but didn’t seem to receive any this week. We’ll probably end up playing each other for another 3 weeks or more until HoD drops down and bumps whoever is top dog of the lower tier up, so we should get used to the names we’re seeing and try and have some fun.

For all this talk about PRO, I never see them around. Then again my characters are all Asura, so it is kind of hard for me to see over a keep/tower wall.

Also to the complaints of alt f4ing to prevent badges or dying, it happens on every server. If I posted about every time I’ve seen it personally done the last few weeks, I would have 100 posts. As long as the game allows you to do it, people will continue to do so no matter what server they are on. I’m personally way too lazy to relog back into the game so I can’t bring myself to even have fun with it…

Fun fights in DR BL during prime time tonight.

On Kaineng BL at Redbriar tower in front of FC’s spawn 10 minutes ago… omg epic fight. 4 thieves(46/54, 2 level 80) and my 80 guard had an epic 5 vs 10 FC vs Lord and then 5-10 more Devona’s, and then ANOTHER wave of the same FC guys coming back. Had to kill the lord twice and play king of the hill/circle trying to cap it fighting for 5-10 minutes straight in the tower.

That would lead to a substantial increase in keep/tower trading and less defending. Not a good thing.

This. The last thing we need is more incentive to trade objectives to farm badges. There’s already enough incentive on the lower tier servers for karma/levels, not sure how it is in other tier matchups.

Thief for the mobility and insane dps from glass cannon build. Guardian for when I want to play a big support role and not care how many badge drops I get. Ranger when I’m just focusing on leading since my commander tome is on him. I try not to compare my thieves damage to my ranger in my head so I don’t cry. I need to try Mesmer and Ele later because they are very useful.

If you wanted to be the most useful, Mesmer/Thief/Elementalist/Guardian are the ones that bring the most to the table imo.

it was no rendering bug. You had atleast 30 there and there were only about 3-5 thieves there until the mass came. They were smart and used their stealth skills on each other and to just run around you guys. Learn to AoE and stop complaining when you can not take a camp from 3 people when you have atleast 30 there

You realize how silly this sounds right? There were 30 of us, AoE’ing, and we couldn’t flush you out because we couldn’t see you. It’s clearly a rendering issue, if it wasn’t we would have spotted you, locked you down, and f stomped you.

The reason you could not see us was because we’re using stealth. I know for sure I was rendering after I came out of stealth because I was getting hit my multiple people and they would actually TURN around and start aoe’ing in my direction as soon as I dropped my stealth. I actually died maybe 7 times throughout the whole ordeal because I’m not built for kitten toughness/vit stealth build. The supply camp was next to our spawn, we had people there, there’s no reason you should of been able to cap it anyways.

Yes, there are issues with rendering. Yes, Thief is very powerful, possibly too powerful. Yes, you could of countered the thieves in the circle as there wasn’t nearly enough people to cause rendering issues. No, it’s not an easy counter because it means you have to control your mindless zerg which can prove tough on any server.

Weekend Warriors on Kaineng. Hah! More like Halloween Event farmers and we’re back.

On to the next topic, it’s been fun fighting everyone ever since we’ve transferred over. I’m having fun every night, winning or losing and hope you guys are too. Our coordination is improving every day. Everyone is teaching each other new tactics every couple days and it’s fun finding counters for them. I can’t imagine WvW being any more fun than it already is, and we’re in the “lowest” tier due to populations for all 3 servers. We’ll see how this plays out by the end of the week and see who wins. I think it’s cool all the servers are confident they can win. It’s only going to make it more competitive which is what other tier matchups lack.

Our thieves would of been successful in holding the camp regardless of rendering bug or not. Your lack of coordination in the supply camp was easy to take advantage of. The easy counter is to stack up and spam aoe’s… Throw some all caps in Map/Team chat and get people to stack up on your commander.

That moment when you realize that your unsportsmanlike banter shames your guild and makes you look like a king amongst pricks.

There are no more than 30 of us on and in WvW on a good day and on peak hours, so to siege everything at once like JQ or Blackgate can is impossible. We did have one of our best commanders transfer to another server, and another start his own guild (which doesn’t WvW).

Maybe you’re missing something as to how WvW works; points are points. And while the majority of DR’s guilds are fighting it out in EB, that leaves us, randoms, or fragments of guilds to fight in a given BL. So to fight for a garrison for 2 hours, when we can go on another map and cap four times as many points instead, sounds like a good idea doesn’t it?

Guilds adapt to each others strengths and weaknesses, I know you know that. We can’t be everywhere, so we make due with what we have. That being said, I haven’t been on when pro wasn’t able to take a keep or garrison, no matter how long it took. Deflate your ego and stop hating.

I don’t have a big ego, I look at the facts. My tone in the previous posts were mean and calling you guys out which is exactly how I wanted them to be to prove a point. All I’m trying to do is knock PRO’s ego down a peg and have some fun out in WvW. If you guys want to stop the chest thumping and high fiving in forums in the future, go for it because as you witnessed it’s truly obnoxious. The Evermoor Alliance will continue to fight and do what we can to control maps while we’re out in primetime and with SoS during US nights/mornings.

Oh? No commanders in PRO? I’ve seen AT LEAST 3 different PRO commanders wearing the tag in DR BL throughout the day while we were killing them. It must be tough on you having no commanders to rely on to rally up people when you have so many of them and such a large guild. I guess what you’re trying to say is it doesn’t count if you’re not out there, even if 40+ members of your guild are out there on the same map with a commander.

I’m so glad you guys worked out our basic Kaineng strategy last matchup and relayed it to all your commanders throughout the guild. That really seems to be helping you this weekend… oh wait. Now let me try and break down PRO’s basic strategy for everyone in easy to read steps.

1. Grab as many people as you can and zerg the map.
2. If you wipe while in even numbered fights or even OUTNUMBERING your opponents, press M to look at the map.
3. Look for another map that is undefended, move there and avoid all conflict on the current map because we wouldn’t want to fight those Kaineng guys.
4. Get wiped on new map because reinforcements showed up.
5. Go back to previous map and start at step #1 again.

Man it must be irritating transferring to the lowest tier match up as a large guild and not being able to dominate once the initial shock of your numbers and Halloween event is over.

iSpy has been setting up shop in DR BL, we’ll see if you guys continue to run away to a different map after failing to take your own garrison that has paper gates/walls while outnumbering us 2:1 for hours on end.

I’m really enjoying this matchup so far because you guys are helping us evolve on our tactics. We’ll do something awesome, then you guys will end up copying it because it’s a pretty awesome idea. Then we have to think up of counters to whatever we just showed you. I’m interested how far we can go with this way of learning WvW tactics, as it’s good practice for the next tier whenever we get there.

Man some of you mesmers from [Tote] just make me want to ball up and cry since you’re pumping out clones and damage so quickly while I can’t find you and you still manage to get away! This was about 30m ago on Dev’s BL at Hero’s Lodge.

There’s about 3 mesmers I’ve run into that make me want to cry and just give up chasing clones and you’re one of them. Another one was from [Envy] a week or two ago when I was on my thief at around 3am. I just had to leave the 2nd fight out of frustration and all my stuff was on cooldown.

Some people prefer to play a relaxing session of guild wars 2 on Fridays after work instead of going out. The week always determines it in our match up because the weekends are only 2/7 days.

We can talk about who thinks they had more or less numbers throughout the night all we want, but I know what happened at least on DR BL. We locked it down, outmaneuvered our opponents repeatedly for hours on end on nearly every spot of the map. After people get absolutely destroyed and outplayed 4 times in a row at the same place, they tend to take a break/leave the map. The map would be empty for a little bit, then more numbers would pop out of seemingly nowhere. Numbers on DR BL was fairly even most of the time. Nice job on eventually taking your Garrison back with the golems! I didn’t personally get to see it as my video card crashed when we tried to come in from behind. I played so much tonight, I can’t count the number of Trebs from Garrison and Catapults on SH we destroyed.

I’m not sure how Kaineng’s BL fights went exactly, after we left it 30 minutes into the reset. Warsworn pretty much got it locked down eventually from what I heard, and there was even a queue at one point. I’m happy we had enough people in EB to hold our ground as well. I saw at least 2 PRO commanders in DR BL, so you guys can’t pretend you weren’t there. To the Commander from [SKY], we ran into you quite a bit throughout the night, and I can’t say it was good for you guys all the time :\ sorry

I’ve run out of things to say. My brain isn’t working, been sitting in a computer chair for far too long. Overall, iSpy had a TON of fun out there tonight and proved what we can do on DR BL. Our coordination is getting better by the week as we’re getting to know more members and get used to working together. This week will be interesting to see how it pans out. Hopefully Dred will have some competition at night instead of Player vs Door and exaggerating stories.

You PRO guys, or atleast Drednyte exaggerate so bad it’s incredible… I lead the garr defense he’s talking about, we had 9 people… They just weren’t able to put down any siege due to us killing it all. Then we killed them as they ran out. After that, we gained a few more and were roughly 15 as we took everything back. Devona had no less than 25 the entire time, and I’m being generous. Also… the PRO mesmer commander leading it did an Alt-F4 as I was about to finish him, very lame.
I don’t mid ya telling stories, even bring it out of context for all I care, but don’t straight lie, it’s pathetic. I bet you’re the alt-f4 guy.

lol so it’s not just me that is seeing through some of the posts. His lengthy posts make me shake my head and laugh. At least his stories keep the thread alive and give me a reason to come back each day to the forums.

First thing I noticed in lower tiers: I CAN SEE EVERYONE. Even entire big groups of allies and enemies. Not 100 big but certainly the place was crowded. No rendering issues. It was really enjoyable just to see people.

I still have plenty of issues when sieging SM during prime time. 60vs60 doesn’t render in the Lord’s Room and mass chaos, invisible enemies, tab target moar!!! AAAARGH THEY’RE EVERYWHERE AND I CAN’T SEE THEM!?!?!!!!

But yes I agree you can see everyone 90% of the time out here in the battles as most of the time open field the largest it gets is 30vs30.

We really need to stop bumping this thread. Let it sink towards the bottom of the pile of lost threads in the internet!

If you keep spreading the word that the pvp is a blast down in lower tiers, it could change for the worse with mass transfers! I’ve found that once you stop worrying about the overall score at the end of the day and try and have as many fun fights as possible when you’re out, WvW is a blast at least for me.

It’s not very fun running around repeatedly capping undefended camps and eventually just running into a Zerg 3x bigger than your group at least.

It’s not very fun doing that if you’re not prepared to run into the zerg. Make groups that are built for wrecking zergs and build up coordination within them. It only takes 10 people and you can wipe out 2-4x your number with the element of surprise and skill/coordination. WvW isn’t all about zerg groups and you can win fights you are outnumbered in as long as it’s not 10vs70. You have to remember that after you cap the undefended camp, their isn’t only one option – leave. Setup shop and make a meat grinder of a choke point. You can hold some supply camps easily with under 10 people and a couple ballistas/arrow carts against 30 people.

Don’t lose hope because you’re losing numbers. Adapt and try to have fun with what you have and pitch in to help rebuild your community.

lol I guess Stonemist finally fell overnight after holding it for more than 24 hours

Had a ton of fun out in Devona’s BL tonight with the alliance. The fights were so epic at times, I couldn’t even see 20 people in the 50v50 encounters. Lot of credit goes to RUNN and AP for their support throughout the night. Their 10-15 man wrecking crews do crazy good work out there against zergs.

About Mighteous… When I see him, he’s at the front more often than not. He’s not an idiot either and does logical stuff out on the battlefield. With all the praise I’m giving him I might have to start a fan club. Once you learn to not care if he’s hardcore roleplaying or seriously like this in real life, it’s hilarious. You guys should stop being so serious! Read his posts and have a laugh! I personally think it’s hilarious and I’ll take laughs where I can get them.

I can’t wait for the next Mighteous post to get these guys all riled up!

Approximately how many hours played in WvW for 10k kills?

Seen it mentioned a couple times in the thread already and I’ll say it again. We need to know when members last logged in… Also a “so and so has Logged In” would be nice.

If you have ~40g you can craft to 80 in 4-5 hours. 2 crafts an hour with guides, and another hour for putting in buy orders for the shopping lists.

I’m seeing this happen more and more every day. It’s pretty annoying when you’re wondering in what patch did they add Warrior Stealth… Seeing this happen alot in my tier especially with next to zero queue times for all three servers.

I was out leading in Eternal again tonight with some alliance members. Sadly we can’t be in two places at once and picked Eternal for the reset night hoping some other commander would step up and hold our own BL with a good zerg population, especially since it’s our own borderlands…

We did really well out in EB holding Stonemist and handling the double team pressure from Fergs and Devonas when we had paper gates for what seemed to be the longest time. Apparently saying “don’t take supply from stonemist” repeatedly doesn’t keep everyone from grabbing it heh.

Had some fun fights and some not so fun fights fighting invisible enemies 40v40 even though we won a couple of them.

The gold costs in WvW are only ridiculous if you’re paying for it all. I drop 50 rams a day easily, and that’s not counting other siege like Golems etc. If everyone started chipping in a little, it would be great. I know a ton of people don’t chip in on Kaineng because they’re broke, under-leveled, or just plain don’t know how/where to buy siege and how to upgrade keeps/towers.

I predict it will improve in a couple more months when even more people in lower tier servers will hit 80 and get geared out. Where else are we going to spend gold? Waypoints? Legendary Grind?

I hit 4-8k on Cluster Bomb in WvW. It really makes it tough to play my ranger after I rolled a thief with Cluster Bomb. When I started reading about the thief, I could of sworn I read somewhere it was more beneficial to detonate it in midair. When I started playing my thief a week ago, I’ve seen no reason to detonate it. It’s easier to not detonate it, seems to do more damage, and costs less initiative I think.

Well jeez that was alot of DR drama in a World vs World vs World thread. Seems like Devonas vs Devonas up in here! It must be hard to keep whatever enormous amount(400+?) of guildies PRO has in line and not having any of them step on toes. I can’t imagine it being possible when there will be plenty of people that think they’re hot kitten around town after making a massive difference simply due to increased numbers.

I have a strong feeling that this next week’s score will be different since the usual population of Kaineng will hop into WvW after finishing most of their halloween event stuff. cough Chaster cough

DR from what i can see at this time has only one critical gap in our WvW teams…our nightshift just cant defend against the 2 large zergs Kain and Ferg field…as that seems to be the only time they can take anything =). it’s not really hard to “dominate” when its 60 v 10-15…lol. But heck, let em have their ’we pwned DR.." moments! And before one of those 2 servers starts crying in the forums…i play both shifts…the prime time shifts are very well balanced across all 3 servers in population in WvW….fact is you both get OWNED by DR at prime time. its only the offshift where you 2 can do anything.

Also, what do you consider DR’s prime time? Kaineng has been decently solid in our own BL and capping Stonemist in EB last 3 nights around 7pm-12 EST when the Evermoor Alliance has been out.

We had a wall down from 2 trebs within 3 minutes or so and had 3 golems being built. We walked into the Lord’s room with pretty much zero resistance, and then had maybe a 3 minute fight against invisible enemies in there. It was probably the easiest SM take I’ve been a part of. I really do hate SM when there’s 50 people and 20 siege weapons setup in the lord’s room. I think Devona’s knows what that feels like after they tried to take it later after the update. I think you guys are actually breaking in and capping it right now after maybe 2 hours of trebbing and trying to get in our non-reinforced walls.

The answer to most of your insults is we’re a newer server. A ton of people participating in WvW are still not level 80. Most of the level 80s aren’t rich and can’t afford to spend gold on siege/upgrades. It really doesn’t help motivate people to spend gold on upgrades when people know that the place will be overrun by a zerg in the very near future. Regardless, I’ve dumped about 20g in the last 2 days for upgrades and siege knowing that it will all be taken out eventually. When there are a lack of organized guilds in WvW, the only thing all the randoms seem to know is how to zerg in off-times.

This post insulting a server that knows they are in the bottom tier and are improving every week is quite hilarious.

Thank you for doing the heavy lifting with SM FC. and letting us cap it within 10 minutes. We really appreciated that!

I don’t mind pets when I’ve just accepted it’s 2s quickness every 20 seconds and a regen from F2 and the bear to take the dmg from Protect Me. (This is for WvW. I haven’t played sPvP on ranger yet because I don’t want to be even more disappointed.)

Tonight was a ton of fun for the evermoor alliance! Played for about 6 hours straight tonight starting off with Ferg’s BL and then reinforcing ours after. A little bit later, we hopped into Eternal Battlegrounds and had a lot of fun fights with Devona’s across the night. Capped Stonemist and began pushing North and West and I think currently attempting to hold SM which should have reinforced gates soon

Looking forward to more fun fights later this week!

Had 4 hours of fun in FC BL tonight with the evermoor alliance and randoms. I really wanted to take Cragtop and tried repeatedly but there were some dedicated people camping the treb/ballistas in there Had fun fights around Sunnyhill as well.

I love the weekday pvp. It’s more even and competitive rather than Kaineng getting roflstomped on the weekend. Time for a comeback again? Should be fun to watch.

tl;dr version

I needed to make another thread for attention about e-reputation because my e-reputation on Kaineng is not very high. My friends are checking out GoM and I might move there in the future and attempt to build a good e-reputation there. I’m also a pretty awesome commander that hasn’t received enough donations for the commander book yet for some unknown reason.
