Hey,
also the leader of a guild here. o/
Imo, the only thing repping does right now, is it gives the guild leaders annoying big headache to try and keep their guild together. Members not repping the guild, never bother to interact with the guild members who ARE repping and they’re there just as a reminder they don’t really care for ur guild or anyone in it.
To me, this issue seems to be with your target audience.
I have members who represent and members who don’t. They are completly fine with their interactions and as such your presumption is simply false. :/
Your members may act like this, other leaders’ members may act like this, but not all members act like this.
I hate that little oval greyed out green symbol against their name and when u hover over it, the bracketed message that says (not representing). So please get rid of it we don’t need it any more.
“I” hate it.
“We” don’t need it anymore.
Please refrain from speaking for others.
I guess what i personally don’t like, is that members in multi guilds can chat in ur guild even when not representing it, you have no idea if they actually are watching ur chat or not. Even worse, they can listen in and espy what is going on in ur guild, but you have no idea what they’re up to if they don’t bother to tell u. In order words, guild leaders have been brought down, lost control, while members have been enervated with this new chat system as well as this notion ‘why even bother repping anymore.’ I’m starting to wonder, why even bother having guilds any more eh?
It seems your issue is associated more with size and lack of trust than with representation in itself.
- “…, you have no idea if they actually are watching ur chat or not. Even worse, they can listen in and espy what is going on in ur guild, …”
You’re a guild. Not a sovereign nation at war during the Cold War. You appear slightly suspicious and perhaps even paranoid with a statement such as this. If you fear people who don’t represent to be something as extreme as “spies” I honestly begin to wonder if you’re cut-out to be a leader, pardon my rudeness.
- “guild leaders have been brought down, lost control, …”
Why must you be in control? It is of my opinion that as a Guild Leader you provide a service, you’re not doing your members a favor and they don’t owe you. Nor do you own your members. The only control a Guild Leader has and should have are the Guild-Mechanics/authorities and the ability to keep your members content with what you provide.
- “…as well as this notion ‘why even bother repping anymore.’ I’m starting to wonder, why even bother having guilds any more eh?”
Representation does nothing but add a tiny “[TAG]” behind your name and turn that dim bright square into a brighter one in the Guild Roster of the guild you represent. If this, largely meaningless, activity decides something as important as a members’ interest in the guild, you might want to look at what your guild is providing.
- Are your members content with the services or content your guild provides?
- Do your members have reasons to represent or not to represent?
- Is being a Guild Leader more of a job to you than actual game-content?
- Do you feel the desire to control your members or to serve them?
- Is your guild perhaps too big for you to manage?
I know some of my remarks may seem very rude but I have no intention of insulting you.
Required representation is a relic of the past. Some guild leaders use it as you happen to be doing, an indication of interest in & loyalty to your guild. It is, however in my experience, no accurate depiction of either interest or loyalty and as such should be used less.
A personal advice: attempt to keep your guild small and don’t fear members using the multi-guild system.
A small guild will allow you to get to know your members well and to trust them. Being closer to your members will show that them not representing your guild isn’t something scary or dangerous.
Good luck and I hope I haven’t bothered you with my opinions. ^^

I’m glad to see a new legendary incoming.
Yet I’m mostly sad to hear it wasn’t the Legendary Mace which was said to be furthest in development.
I just hope the Legendary Mace won’t be a joke-weapon like The Moot was.
I’d love to go on a Journey for a Legendary Mace, one of the most beautiful types of weapons in-game in my opinion. Yet The Moot just feels so.. out of character.
I currently use The Flameseeker Prophecies because it’s a beautifully designed, intricate, legendary looking piece of equipment.
Not a disco-ball on a music-stick! :P
P.S.
As game director I have to make tough trade-offs. One thing I believe is that we have to focus on the core game first before taking on additional responsibilities. I wrote in the Guild Wars 2 Design Manifesto in 2010 that our vision was to create a living, dynamic world, where there’s always something to do. Let’s ensure we succeed on that front.
So, after shipping Chuka and Champawat, I’ve asked that we indefinitely suspend work on new legendary weapons. This team of developers will instead shift their efforts back to Living World style content, building new journeys and events for everyone to participate in.
I believe it’s a wise decision.
Legendaries, although impressive, are for a minority of the players in Guild Wars 2.
Story progression is appreciated a lot.
One question though:
Does the decision of shifting attention from Legendary weapons/collections to the Living World Style content indicate that we might get story-content sooner than expected. Or is it mainly intended for other reasons such as having more developers work on the large Living World project for less pressure?

Ahai,
Something has always been bothering me on these forums.
we have: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/The-Cantha-Thread-Merged Which has 55 pages right now. Yet Elona doesn’t have its own meta-thread like this. As such, here it finally is.
This is a thread for all who wish to see an Elonian expansion, the living story taking us there, Raids within the boundaries of the Land of the Golden Sun and everything else Elona-related.
What would you like to see in an Elona-themed expansion?
- New Elite-Specializations fitting the landscapes and culture.
- New Masteries.
- Lore, both old and new.
- AI and other Game-Mechanics.
- Etc.
Here is my entry which starts with a long introduction for those unfamiliar with Elona:
Elona
“The jungle is said to provide… the desert however? I’ve only ever seen it take away. It consumes those who dare set foot on its scorching surface. All it grants is death and decay. Still we have reason to head into these wastelands. Two Elder-Dragons have been slain; danger still remains. Kralkatorrik, the Crystal Dragon, was last seen headed to these lands. From the moment it arose from its slumber deep within the Blood Legion Homelands it flew south, not even bothering to cover its track as if not giving any of the races of Tyria a single thought, it carved the brand into Tyria’s landscape.
Now Glint’s legacy has been bestowed upon us and the nation of Elona is in dire need of its Salvation. Reports have come in of Palawa Joko, an undead lich overlord, holding the entirety of Elona within the grasps of his dried, rotten hands. Having learnt from his past mistakes in his attempts of seizing control, he marched into Vabbi with renewed strategies, he dammed and diverted the Elon River which deprived the Vabbians and Kournans of its source of water whilst supplying his own with this priceless resource. Seeing no way out the Vabbians surrendered, the Kournans and Istani soon followed.
The hailed Order of the Sunspears, guardians of Elona, has been reduced to a mere shadow of its former self. Palawa Swiftly crushed the Order and converted prominent members to his own cause. These converted Sunspear Traitors now serve Palawa Joko as a unit of elite knights named the Mordant Crescent.
It is unclear to us if Palawa has met with the branded forces of Kralkatorrik, yet we know for sure that they are bound to be enemies. The upcoming war in the Crystal Desert and further south shall be a war on three fronts. We have Kralkatorrik on one side, Palawa Joko on the other and our united races taking it up to them both!"
-Nero.
The Crystal Desert, the Desolation and Elona itself all share a harsh climate.
“Legends tell of a time, thousands of years ago, when the Crystal Desert was covered in water. These legends claim that it was the gods who raised the land, leaving it bare and empty in order to give the solitary creatures of the world a place to call their own. If the legends are true, humans were not among those for whom this land was made. There have been attempts by humans to settle in the desert, but they have, without exception, failed miserably, leaving behind only the grand monuments they built here proclaiming their short-lived triumph over this harsh land.
The weather in the Crystal Desert is hot and unforgiving. The winds blow hard, making and unmaking dunes, covering up the present and uncovering the past. An examination of the sand will reveal that each grain is actually a tiny, pointed crystal. In isolated locations, larger crystal formations have been revealed by the constant, unforgiving wind." – The Guild Wars Manuscripts
Due to the rise of Orr, water has entered the wastes of the desert. This has given life to new creatures and others thrive on the water like never before. Sadly the water influences only portions of the desert, an area easily the size of the great nation of Kryta still remains without water and is hard to traverse because of this. Sandstorms, not unlike those witnessed in Dry Top, are common.
- Ancient ruins of past human civilizations have been uncovered by these sandstorms.
- The joint nations must rely on the help of native species among which Centaurs to traverse many dangerous areas.
- Scarabs plague the arid plains and Hydra’s are not fond of the activity within their territory either.
These Hydra’s can hold their own against the branded and Palawa Joko’s awakened forces. Prepare yourselves well. - Many traces can be found of the Forgotten and other ancient civilizations among which the Margonite.
Raid
The Tomb of the Primeval Kings has been uncovered, yet was found corrupted by Kralkatorrik. What dark forces lurk in these halls now?
Masteries
- The Junundu
Use these majestic wurms to traverse the desolate plains.
Elite Specializations

The arid plains have worn out the soldiers, a commander has to stand up to motivate these soldiers to jump back into the fight for a greater cause.

Ranger – Nomad – Hammer
The ranger knows the environment well and they knows how to shake it up. With heavy blows of their hammer they squash scarabs while using new and improved beast mastery to better control their pets. (Bunny Thumpers!)
AI
- Hydra’s with their multiple heads now focus on multiple targets at once.
- Scarab swarms attack camps and they never attack alone. (Imagine pocket raptors, slower yet stronger.)
But this is all to spark an interest, please discuss and above all. Show your support for Elona as much as everyone else has been supporting Cantha!

All legendary are only worth it if you truly adore the skin (major motivator) or the stat-swapping possibility. (minor motivator).
In all other situations an Ascended weapon (such as the Fix-r-Upper) has the exact same stats as the Legendary Juggernaut. (meaning the Juggernaut also has 2 upgrade slots.)
This question is nearly impossible to answer for someone else.
Ask yourself: Do you consider the Juggernaut’s skin to be worth it spending a LOT of money on?
if not, stick to the Fix-r-Upper. the stats are the same you just can’t change the specific stats as easily as with the legendary.
(you’ll likely only use the Berserker’s stat anyway.) ^^

9) Refusal to exploit/cheat
Those people get so annoying! :P
“NO YOU MUST ONE SHOT LUPICUS OR YOU’RE A NOOB AND I WILL KICK YOU!”
“WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING!? YOU MUST SKIP HERE!*
“OMG NOOBS, STACK HERE! STACK!! STACK!!!”
There are two sides to every story.
- There are those who give polite, well-meant instructions.
- There are those who command other players around as if they’re NPC’s.
- There are those who refuse to listen because of any of the reasons listed above.
- There are those who simply wish to play as they want and not rush/skip/exploit everything for maximum efficiency simply because it’s considered “meta” by some.
Something I truly notice a lot lately is the high horses some people believe they’re sitting on.
It doesn’t matter if some players are veterans or new to the game.
They have to be rude.
Two cases that have happened to me:
- I was helping around in Ascalonian Catacombs, a dungeon I like to complete in my own way. (no rushing, skipping, stacking.) A dungeon I often invite new players into to allow them to experience the world of dungeons first-hand instead of all the negative comments you find on dungeons on the reddit/forums often. I was running through this dungeon explaining stuff when we reached the Ghost Eater at the end of Path 2. Someone in the party adressed that they have had issues with this certain boss before and asked if I could explain it in detail. I started explaining how using skill 1 (the pull) and skill 2 (the lift) could be used to spawn and pull oozes into the traps to charge them without getting any unwanted aggro from the Ghost Eater. People were content with this information but then we began to have a rogue member. This certain member did the exact opposite of what I explained and when we had to regroup after a near party-wipe he started getting mad because I was explaining everything in English and he happened to be French. Alright, I thought to myself, I’ll do my best to try and explain it in my best french, a language I used to be quite well-versed in but haven’t spoken in years. Then he got mad again, he understood what I was trying to say but my grammar wasn’t 100% correct! This continued for a while and all I got was foul comments because I didn’t meet his expectations. We did eventually manage to kill the Ghost Eater, eventhough we got early-aggro and I had to guide people to traps and other locations on the spot.
Some people care about your explanation and are patient, others are just plain rude.
Sure you have the “vote-kick” function for situations like this but I’m not one to kick that easily.
- My second story is about my guild. I run a small, casual, “play as you want” type of guild. Yet sometimes we get members who don’t really “fit in”. This is the story of one of these members. This certain member would command (not ask) us to assist in his daily fractals which we would do. After all we enjoy fractals ourselves and needed the dailies anyway. The fractal we were doing was the Uncategorized Fractal with the kitty-golems and the Raving Asura. At Old Tom I was explaining what to do with the batteries and the fan and we were dividing the roles together. The member in question however would refuse any of these strategies because “100% zerk teams can just damage their way through everything”. While we had people running tears, activating the fan and damaging old tom this member would be attacking Old Tom all the time. On its own this is no problem at all, we needed DPS after all to bring Old Tom down. But because of our party having some new-players/inexperienced players we eventually had a few casualties (among which the “100% zerk” member). The “100% zerk” member would start raging and preeching with elitism, calling his own guildies noobs and ended up ragequitting after a single wipe. This happened a couple of times until I eventually decided to kick him from the guild, leaving him with a mail stating I believe he doesn’t fit in with our Casual Guild.
The expectations of some people are off because they see videos of 100% zerk raids and fractals. They see Metabattle.com with their meta-builds which they MUST use. They stick to those rotations and everyone else has to do the same or they “suck”.
Simply because you’ve found a meta-build doesn’t mean that you’re “superior” compared to other players. Not everyone desires maximum efficiency in all the game-content. Some just enjoy having fun and coming up with strategies together to tackle challenges.
Now, I’m not bashing on players who do enjoy the meta.
I don’t hate the meta at all, it’s simply efficient builds.
But over time it’s begun to disgust me whenever I see self-proclaimed Meta-Pro’s command others around, demanding more efficiency, blaming their own mistakes on others, having zero interest in discussing strategies and most of all don’t care about their party members at all.
Casual players get told to specify in the LFG when they want “non-meta” teams.
Alright, I do that. I often add a “Play as you want, NON ZERK RUSH” in my LFG messages. Still I get 2-3 meta-fixated rushers shouting at me because I’m a Guardian using a hammer instead of a greatsword.
I support the meta-groups who take it upon themselves to specify their desire for wanting a 100% meta-build party instead of joining a casual party and take it over with shouting, cursing, meta-talk and most of all elitism.
Disclaimer: I am sure I have made generalizations in the above post. I am indeed upset about the behaviour of some people. This is however a sub-group of a group of players. it does not portay all players who use meta-builds and desire maximum-efficiency.
*TL;DR: There are multiple sides to the story of following instructions and playing efficienctly. GW2 is a multiplayer game and you can’t escape the social factor. Different people have different playstyles and interests. Please don’t tell others what to do against their own will. The best thing to do is to remain polite and specify your playstyle before becoming frustrated at everyone around you.
Thanks for the read,

I do agree that this would be a fun addition to WvW. Maybe give it an achievement and title as well?
I wonder wether this will be a:
‘’kneel @ target player and set on fire after 1 / 1.5 secs’’
or a more instant:
‘’press ’’F’’ to burn this invader’s remains’’ and then you’d just be able to spamm it for title progress or anything else after clearing a zerg.
I think the first option is best since it allows multiple people fair chances at burning corpses. We should be able to share our enemies’ corpses, not just claim them all for ourselves!

Ahai Ateahri,
I personally hope A-net will not add any more classes.
We have 3 for each weight class and I hope it remains as such.
This is to ease balance and play.
Many who now main a Revenant had to restart the game and exploration solely to be able to enjoy a new style of gameplay.
Instead I’d like to see the Elite Specializations expanded upon.
A Paragon-like Elite Specialization could work great with either Guardian or Warrior for example.

On a more serious note.
Spirit Weapons:
- Too little DPS, in most situations simply not worth taking.
- Active effects are often underpowered resulting in other skills being able to do the job better. (Knockdown → Bane Signet, Reflect → Wall of Reflection, Condi cleanse → Purging Flames, Sword → not even worth mentioning.)
- The Spirit Weapons “die” far too easily and then the impact of the long recharge truly shows.
*Current uses for spirit weapons? *
- Condi guardians that require more hits to cause more burning.
- Reflects that may be needed on some occasions.
- Looking cool.

My idea has been and remains to be a spear. (yes that ol’ beaten horse.)
I’d prefer it to be a fast condi-focussed weapon combined with plenty of gap-closing options.
Right now Guardians do not fare well as condition-dealing class and as you said who would give up DH because of the ranged damage?
A ranged option is great but a solid gap-closing option could work as well especially if combined with a more reliable method of granting increased movement speed to oneself.
If the new Elite Specialization would make the Guardian’s mobility greater the desire for ranged combat would be lesser.
For the utilities I think a lot could replace the traps.
Traps aren’t too interesting. You place them, they get triggered, the effect triggers.
Almost no mindgames possible there.
I’d personally like supportive skills which focus on boosting the performance of allies over yourself.
If you’ve played GW:Nightfall think of something along the lines of a chant.
“for 10 seconds you and your allies deal …% more damage with their next … attacks.”
This type of skill wouldn’t be useless for a solo Guardian but would shine in multiplayer combat.
a small, casual Guild with a play as you want style.
Hey all,
The title says it all, what do you consider to be the most outdated profession, why and how would you like to fix it?
I have created a strawpoll with all the professions + the Elite Specializations.
Although the Elite Specializations are quite new and thus likely not outdated I have decided to include them for a more complete picture.
My entry is:
The Guardian.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved Guardian and it has been my main since the Beta testing!
But…
- Nearly the entire concept of the Guardian as a Master of Defences was nullified by the Berserker Meta.
- Low HP pool was to balance for the amount of boons and other types of defence the Guardian has, yet these days there is a lot of boon corruption and defences are disregarded.
- It is a very slow profession.
- It has a relatively weak damage output compared to other classes. We have a moderate bursts and our sustained damage comes from the slow hammer.
- Wards countered by… veteran mobs with permanent stability and there’s no effect to break-bars for crossing them.
- Spirit Weapons.
- Recharges of the Utility Skills are a lot longer than you’d expect from many. (Example: Sanctuary: for 6 seconds foes and projectiles can’t enter a bubble with a 120 radius (tiny!) – 90 second recharge + this is after it’s been updated not too long ago. )
As for a Fix…
I’m tempted to suggest the next elite specialization to be a faster, more offensive, condition oriented class with unstrippable boons… but that’s an elite specialization and I consider the main issue to be the base-profession of “Guardian”.
A reduction of the recharges of skills, a slight boost of damage output and a rework of wards and spirit weapons is desirable.
I am mainly sad however to have lost the image of “Defensive/Supportive Knight” due to the DPS focussed meta of “As much damage as possible, as little utility as needed.”
(Note: When speaking of damage I’m not talking about the PvP Dragonhunter Traps, that is an entirely different issue :P)
I am curious to see what others consider to be outdated professions!

Would a ranged-option truly be that mandatory if the gap-closers were to be fast rushes or even teleports/shadowsteps alike Judge’s Intervention?
I personally would prefer a fast, gap-closing melee weapon if only to bypass all the reflects.
Scepter is indeed not too great in PvP right now and it would be great if it were to see changes. But I do not think Guardian’s should have a forced ranged weapon with their next elite specialization because of this.

Did you really just suggest the removal of Writ of persistence?
This trait makes hammer worthwhile as a supportive weapon with sustained damage.
This trait increases the effectiveness of all symbols (which guardian has a lot of.)
I’m sorry but I oppose your proposition for changing writ of persistence into this.
1. The current trait is fine as it is.
2. Turning the Honorable staff trait into a staff-only Writ of Persistence isn’t justified.
Yes a staff is used to support but a tick of 120 health on a symbol mainly used for stacking swiftness feels lackluster at best.
3. The Honor line is based on supportive teamplay. A selfish trait such as the perma 25% increase in movement is more at home in a line such as Valor which is mostly used for the selfish meditations or Virtues for the Unscathed Contender-synergy.
All in all I do not consider a 25% movement increase trait worthy of demolishing the most useful role a Guardian can currently play.
If you want the increased movement so badly, suggest it to be merged with the Unscathed Contender trait. Maintain Aegis for both an increase in DPS and movement speed.
For my part put the trait higher into the Virtues-hierarchy to compensate for this buff.
But don’t unnecessarily modify the Honor-Specialization for something as selfish and mostly redundant as increased movement speed.
What honour is there to find in running faster while shielded by aegis?
Your suggestion is a glorified permanent retreat which you don’t have to slot.

Number 1 is nice, but as you said it’s like the elementalist’s summoned weapons.
Guardians are currently in a situation where every other class seems to be doing everything better.
1. Damage – Don’t get me started. (traps were a nice source of burst damage and this is getting hate already.)
2. Tanking – Other classes simply do it better than the “master of defences”. (Utility Chronotank for example.)
3. Boons – the ones most often used are best distributed by other classes such as a Warrior.
4. CC – other classes can use CC at least as well as a Guardian and most of a Guardian’s CC is ignored because Ring of Warding, Line of Warding are ineffective + they don’t break bars.
5. Condition – Guardians apply burning, they’re great with burning! Yet again, others do it better. Condi-Engi + not to speak of the Burnzerker…
and likely many others as well but my point is:
I don’t want Guardians to copy something off of another class.
We’d likely get a weaker version of summoned weapons and if our Spirit Weapons would end up being stronger (!!) we’ll get the entire non-guardian community lighting torches and grabbing pitchforks because useful Guardians should simply get sent into the mists for some reason or another.

If so all Charr would be either Warriors, Engineers, Thieves or Rangers.
Remember that individual personalities are more dominant than the shared traits of a race.
There are tonnes of humans in real life who can’t stand the sight of blood, yet others are utterly fascinated by it be the motive scientifically, psychologically or whatever.
A Charr could choose to study the arts and practices of a mesmer as a means to win a fight. Using clones to distract your opponents gives you a significant advantage after all.
A Norn Engineer?
I don’t see why Norn can’t be interested in technology as much as Humans, Charr, Sylvari or Asurans.
I do however agree with you, I’d love to have official lore on the professions from the unique races’ points of view.
I’d love to have more than “It is possible.”

my simple solution to this is usually as follows:
During the last phase (where you have to hit the seal twice.) tell your team to not pick the hammer up until they’ve seen it on the floor for 1 or 2 seconds.
I haven’t had it glitch even once doing this and you don’t lost too much of your time.
Basically as our beloved McHammer once stated:
“Stop! . wait . wait . Hammer time!”

The appearance of Sylvari changes depending on their personal development.
This means an upset Sylvari can “grow” upset-looking features.
This also allows for them to greatly alter their appearance over the years, Canach for example.
During the The Lost Shores events:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Canach_Secondborn.jpg
During HoT:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Canach.jpg
Caithe has also been seen to change.
During the “Meeting the Asura” living story mission.
We see a Young Caithe with shorter leaves as “hair”. and less developed armour.
Surprisingly enough she seems to have taken a liking to the appearance of Wynne:

(Note the Hairstyle)
Other examples are Sylvari who are seen to convert to the Nightmare Court.
On-topic this could mean that Sylvari can change their appearance as they age.
They may choose to appear like the Elderly Humans, with beards made of leaves or a physique that might not appear youthful.
Their leaf-like texture may also begin to appear wilted or even withered

R-R-R-ROADKILL!!!
And I want a 1967 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, hot pink, with whale skin hubcaps and all leather cow interior and big brown baby seal eyes for headlights. Yeah!
And big brown baby seal eyes for headlights, yeah!
And I’m gonna drive around in that baby at 115 mph,

How many elder dragons need to die before the Tengu stop afking in Dominion of Winds?
- Can’t answer this one :P
Maybe the Deep Sea dragon will cause trouble for them?
- The Elder Dragon who has shown the most activity around/near/in the Dominion of Winds is Primordus with his Destroyers. It’s likely this will be the trigger. (if anything.)
I remember seeing some Tengu in Auric Basin near Tarir.
- Tengu are funny in that they live int tribes, the Tengu you meet in Auric Basin are Quetzal, the Tengu in the Dominion of Winds are most likely Angchu Tengu which originally came from Cantha under leadership of Talon Silverwing. The Quetzal and Angchu likely have even less contact than the Central Tyrian humans have with well.. the Canthans for example.
Maybe the Tengu have a solution to the current Anomaly problem we are facing right now and they become important in LS3…
- Possible but nothing suggests they could have any knowledge on Ley-lines and their anomalies.
None of these have an answer yet, I know. I just want to see what people thing of Tengu right now.
- Oh, I likely should have read this first… anyhow… yea.

Conclusion
(Will contain Spoilers which I simply can’t filter properly.)
That which happened to the Sylvari on a grand scale is what I fear for all races on a lesser scale.
There is an abundance of optimism in Guild Wars 2’s Tyria which results in a harder to achieve immersion.
I would like to see less comic-relief such as Lord Faren in Verdant Brink, which at times even felt distasteful to me.
A more serious approach to the story of Guild Wars 2 allows for a lot of players to be more involved with the story.
And Guild Wars 2 is truly a game which can afford more “risque” approaches.
Unlike many other massive games Guild Wars 2 openly shows and support gay-love which is absolutely amazing. If we can see content such as this, which is in many countries considered as taboo, I’m sure we can see more darkness, fear, pain, anguish and hear some lamenting cries in the future.
I am not looking for senseless violence or any violation of human rights merely for the sake of entertainment. It is not gore I desire.
I merely believe that the essence of beauty is found within fragility.
The abundant optimism in Guild Wars 2’s Tyria does not indicate this fragility is there.
No matter what happens, there’s always the comic-relief at the end of the day.
My apologies, I wished for this to be a lot more fleshed out but I simply do not have the time to write it all, including proper arguments. I hope to continue this as a project on the GW2-forums with the help and support of any who support my point of view.

I love your idea with the same system as the reviving and for the non burning during combat how about it being easily interruptible? one hit and you’ll have to start over. (and of course only when out of combat)

I consider it a missed opportunity that the Mordrem Spitfires do not have the chance to drop a Totem Axe in Heart of Thorns.
or even a Mordrem-touched Totem Axe.
It was an iconic skin for many GW1 players and this would’ve been one of the best possible way to implement it! ^^

I’d rather stick to nostalgia and retain the name Lion’s Arch.
New York didn’t change its name to “Not so new anymore York” either. (<— Joke ^^)
Also there still is at least 1 giant Lion Statue in plain sight.
And although lions themselves aren’t native to Central Tyria, they are to other continents such as Elona which has seen a lot of trade with Central Tyria through the port of LA.
Lions are often used in names, emblems or other heraldry because:
" It traditionally symbolises bravery, nobility, royalty, strength, stateliness, and valour, because historically it has been regarded as the king of beasts." – Wikipedia.
However if anything it should be renamed to “Lagbourough”.

Oh and I’d love to add an Elonan expansion, this would be my Dream Expansion.
Palawa Joko, Junundu (that aren’t just a reskin of our current wurms), vast open plains, rich Vabbian oases and true ancient Istani cities to explore.
Elona and all its provinces held that many secrets we’ve never seen.
That many crypts left unexplored.
And just remember the beauty that was Fahranur, the first city.
Imagine the beauty it would attain in GW2.
To add to that, none of the GW expansions ever felt so serious to me as GW:Nightfall did. I love having a serious, dramatic plot in a setting that isn’t full of comic relief.
GW2 is fun, but I feel that it often feels too cheerful. Mordremoth was horrifyingly powerful and creepy, yet I remain in want of some true anguish and desperation.
The Sylvari, for eample, are an optimistic race (if you ask me) and this makes them appear quite shallow to me, no matter how rich their lore is.
I don’t want to sound too evil but I’d love to see them suffer.
This goes for humans as well, the humans are said to be in a tiresome war with the Centaurs among others, they have lost all but one last city (save Ebonhawke) and were often described as struggling.
Yet within the walls of Divinity’s Reach this isn’t to be noticed at all.
Caudecus’ funding of the festivities in Divinity’s Reach keep many of its citizens blind to the supposed pain and suffering outside the walls of the great city.
But venture out of these walls and you won’t notice THAT much suffering. Sure you see centaurs attacking human settlements, but do you experience any despair?
I believe most players don’t even notice the war unless someone points it out.
They see centaurs attacking the settlements and keeps, they see centaur camps, they see human slaves, but do they see the human fear?
I think Elona can offer us this anguish.
Palawa Joko is a tyrant, an amazingly well written villain in control of the continent.
Joko truly decides who lives and who dies solely to become another of his undead servants.
Thought Elona was bad during Nightfall? You don’t know how fearsome a tyrant can be.
A famine would be horrible but a famine enforced by the will of a single being is utterly terrifying! Not even the Sunspears could stop Palawa Joko, I wonder who can?
(Not to mention Palawa being strong enough to fight a war with 2 Elder Dragons (Zhaitan and Kralkatorrik) at the same time, a feat we couldn’t even dream of. Zhaitan being dead however, I wonder what happened to the war with Kralkatorrik. Did Joko gain the upper hand? Is Kralkatorrik already defeated? (not likely) or was Zhaitan simply not that fearsome compared to Kralkatorrik, the crystal storm of chaos.

Though I’m sure there are bound to be more threads along the lines of this one, I decided to make yet another one since I could not find any of these.
Emotes, precious to most players and especially roleplayers because of their amazing ability to give more of a ’’living’’ feeling to your characters.
The suggestion is, as obviously stated in the title, more emotes.
One that especially came to mind was a ‘’/stand’’ or ‘’/stop’’ emote to get up from kneeling, sitting or to stop dancing etc. without having to resort to moving your characters’ position.
Another one would be just a simple ‘’/talk’’ emote as seen by various NPC’s
Please use the comments to add more suggestions.

The outfit is most likely to be just that… an outfit.
I’m not saying this out of pessimism but observation.
The “coat” doesn’t have a plit in the belt area this means that it is in fact a long coat.
Scholar Armour has its split in the belt-section (mid-section) and any new armour pieces are bound to have this split in a similar location (to prevent horrendous clipping. A.K.A. the reason outfits exist in the first place.).
Unless Marjory has decided to be an Adventure-class profession now, this is bound to be an outfit.
My sincere apologies to all whom are in love with this look.
I would’ve wanted it as armour instead as well. ^^

Or I should say, that’s how many of us wanted it to be.
I’d like to once again open another discussion on a revision for Spirit Weapons.
So please, discuss…
- What are your thoughts and opinions regarding the current Spirit Weapons?
- What would you like to see as a change to Spirit Weapons?
- Is it worth to change Spirit Weapons?
- Much much more…
