Anyone here remembers when ArenaNet promised us exclusive skins from SPvP? That are unobtainable from PvE? 10 months and we are still waiting for those

When i was saing team, i didnt mean a pro team, I am currently running with some ppl from diffrent guild i know and we are doing fine. Try to find some PvX of PvP guild so you can team up.
Btw. there was a system like free tournaments (just for fun) and paid tournament ( for pro teams). But for some reasone ANet disable paids and now we have this horroble system.

They disabled paids because it was probably biggest fail system in history of MMORPG’s.

Its quite sad that people need to compare this new MMORPG to old one, but i have to its really needed. Its even more sad that stuff like movement and camera are far better in game that released in 2004.

If balance was our only problem this game would be pretty kittening awesome, but its not

Serious esport game?, NOPE. Competitive pvp game? YES, after Arenanet starts focusing more in pvp and actually use some common sense with it

But good job OP for telling us absolutely nothing new.

Where is freaking monthly leaderboard resets? I just dont understand point of having leaderboards without resets. This is pretty basic stuff for competitive environment.

Have to agree with this, having GW2 in ESL is great. But lets be real here, It actually means nothing. Its pretty much same as just having some random site with automated tournaments.

Pretty much any game that has way to play competitive, gets free pass to ESL. Good examples of this are pokeMMO and Brickforce.

So its great to have GW2 in ESL, but still its wont fix problems why GW2 is boring to watch and play.

1. 2v2 arenas

I have played GW1 PvP for 7 years. 7 years! You did a good job there, but GW2 is just a BIG dissapointment.

This game is heavily lacking on diversity anyway, So i dont think specmode will change anything. Great example of this is that mesmers have been running with same build for about 7 months now

1. Leavers being allowed at all in tournaments, the “hardcore pvp” option.
2. No rating system at all besides leaderboards (useless), and glory (can get through casual pvp).
3. downing 3 people, then having them all rally off of a single kill, the biggest failing of this pvp system.

If that was case, then we would be in pretty good spot. But its not

There is 2 really big problems at the moment. First one is that, there is no CUSTOM SERVERS. I just cant kittening understand why would you even market game as esports or competitive pvp game, If you cant even get basic features on launch that competitive community needs.

Secondly another huge problem is that, This games is freaking boooooooring to watch. I already noticed this one on like BWE #1. Its just too slow and stale.

All they do after “pvp balance patch” is streaming some PVE content, instead of PVP in e-sport oriented game, haha! I mean, they dont care about spvp at all, its not profitable for them.

The problem seems to be that they didn’t have a game mode in mind when they designed classes. Its seems like they first designed classes and then picked a gamemode that best matched that iteration of class design. Which has left us with conquest.

Really other game modes would have worked if classes were initially designed around those game modes. That way they won’t get pigeonholed into a specific game mode, especially one that doesn’t focus on combat enough.

Classes were designed for PvE first, Then they just picked up best pvp mode for those classes.

But im still saying that balance wont sell this game. sPvP infrastructure is so horrible that people would have left anyway, even with perfect balance.

Balance is cool but still FEATURES>BALANCE anytime.

based on who then? Just think about it, its actually all about casuals nowadays. There is reason why blizzard started making SC2 more casual friendly. And watching twitch viewers this weekend it seems like its paying off.

Jonathan: For match making what we are focusing on first is for the free tournaments and the paid tournaments and uses it there first to just get people into the right tier of who they should be playing against.
