Ya know what would be great? If this post would stop happening every week.
They are prestige skins. They are not easy to get, nor are they meant to be. This is not WoW. Deal with it.
Firstly, this is an MMO. Look it up if you dont know what that stands for, but there is a certain degree of expected grouping. That is the reason it did not ship as, nor is it, a single player game. Get used to it. You might also be interested to hear that no one is forcing you to complete dailies each day.
That said, there is absolutely no hand holding or forced grouping involved in these dailies. I finished mine in 30 minutes of an Orr event / the usual 5 minute newb zone trip for kill variety.
Try playing before whining.
@Thz
huh? there is no point traiting symbols with hammer (or any build, that trait is just bad, but that’s another discussion entirely). Untraited that symbol is down all the time, giving you and all other melee practically constantly protection if you’re using mostly autoattack. You dont need to be standing inside the ring to get the prot. If we’re talking melee heavy PvE, hammer >> GS for group support. And if you’re still AH build after the nerf, hammer is much more viable than GS due to that near perma prot. Yes you probably do lose some dps (I havent checked the actual numbers) but you get a huge increase in survivability and group support with hammer. If I’m the only guardian in group, I go hammer. If there is another guardian who is GS, Ill go hammer. If there is another guardian who is hammer, Ill swap out for GS.
But yeah, I agree that hammer 3-5 is pretty weak and highly situational in PvE.
At the very least I’m sure we’d all appreciate an official response, even if it’s not one we are hoping to hear. Please stop hiding, Anet and just tell us if you’re thinking about listening to the playerbase on this one or if the mini situation is going to stay as is.
Yup. Lies. And we won’t see a response from Anet, since they seem to be dodging anything to do with minis.
It’s upsetting that despite 6+ threads here about this mini issue that no one from Anet is addressing or even acknowledging it.
I’d just like to know the generel feel towards how the new minipets are obtainable, namely:
Mini Snowman
Mini Festive Golem
Mini Infinirarium
Foostivoo the Merry
The questions are:
- How easy/hard do you find it to get the new minis? (Mystery Box & Giant Wintersday Gift droprate)
Too Easy/Easy/Hard/Too hard/Undecided- Are you satisfied with the given options to get the minipets?
Yes/No/Undecided- Have you bought/Will you buy any Mystery Boxes from the gemstore this Wintersday?
Yes/No/Undecided- Would you have bought the minipets from the gemstore if you were able to buy them? (No random drop from chest – You simply buy the minipet you want.)
Yes/No/Undecided
_______________________________________________________________Please note this thread is not meant for discussion, there are several threads for that already. I’d just like to see the generel feel towards these minipets.
I will start the train:
Too hard/No/Undecided/Yes
Too Hard
No
No
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
I was about to start a thread about the mini pets not being directly purchasable as a pack, a la Halloween, but for now we’ll see where this goes. I think, like most of you mini collectors out there, that Anet has gone too far in their attempt to exploit our desire for collectables and turn it into us gambling away way too much $$$ in an attempt to possibly maybe get a pet or two.
Anet: just make the trio purchasable. You will still have guaranteed sales of the pack, probably two of them, because people will buy the pack and MF to Foostivo and then buy the pack again. Benefit to you? We won’t hate you for trying rob us via Wintersday Mystery Boxes.
Think about it.
I think removing the account bound status would defeat the purpose, but they should have loads of different ways to shift one account-bound item into a different one. There should be simple recipes where you can combine one ultra-rare component with a bunch of super cheap and common ones to get something comparable in quality to the rare thing, for example one minipet, then a ton of copper, or like low level green gear, or something else you can pick up for a couple silver tops, in order to get a different mini.
Defeat the purpose? You realize the purpose is purely for Anet to make money in an attempt to force us to gamble at the gemstore?
No, they need to be tradeable.
I was wondering if this was a bug / unintended. The mini scene in GW1 was a ton of fun due to trading and HoM. All minis need to be tradeable! Come on Anet!!
ps later add the HoM for gw2 that you said was going to happen but never did thx
oh wow. So perma prot build is going to replace AH build. More nerfs inc next patch.
Sorry but Focus is NOT “selfish”. In a group, as a Guardian you will often be tanking. You are the one keeping mobs attention and keeping them off the group. Between 3 blocks and condremove/blind, Focus allows us to stay up longer doing our job. Try it sometime instead of shield, and you’ll realize why most of us think Shield is garbage in comparison.
Shield is in dire need of some small tweaks to make it a worthwhile offhand alternative.
I would love to know their thought process as well. It seems like there is a lack of communication between class dev teams.
If the AH nerf stands, I’d like to see some other options for viable (read: efficient, reliable, practical) healing/support builds in future patches. Or do you want me to use mace and ask my party to all stand on top of me at all times for the regen?
And we’ll see how two more classes with perma speed affects our pvp ability. Hopefully gap closers and scepter3 will be enough that we aren’t turned into the fat kid in a game of tag.
And this has always extended its roots into Desmina?? Or is this a bug worthy report? I’ve never seen it happen before.
Thanks!
So i’ve been away from the game for a month, just logged in today to go find some Ori and kill some grubs in Desmina’s Hollow.
First thing I noticed is that they removed the ice elementals and the earth elementals. Why!? The variety of creature types were nice, as was the miniscule chance to get a lodestone. They were replaced with the same type of risen crap the rest of the zone is already full of. Sigh.
Second thing I noticed was I was getting chain-rooted by roots that grew on the ground and followed me wherever I went. It says from “cursed statue of melandru” on mouseover of the condition. I logged in and out and still the same thing. You can’t even fight in the area because you’re chain rooted/snared.
Does the explorer chain with the grubs even run anymore? Or am I forced to do Plinx with everyone else?
The heck is going on here?
So im confused…..
I heard loot was bugged, so i waited 2 weeks to do this quest. Went in killed big Z. Got the reward for completing the dungeon. Level 80 yellow hat with stats I dont use. Whatever, free ecto.
That was it.
What are these loot bags everyone is talking about? Or did they just mean the chests from the bosses before Z?
Agreed. Posted similar in another thread with some pointers for bads, which boils down to:
strategy. use it.
These people complaining about difficulty don’t try to adapt. Simple as that.
Source: 80 Guardian & Engy. 20 Thief and War.
The storyline is not a cakewalk, correct.
HOWEVER, it is not a corpse rush either. If you expect to play through the game with one build and strategy consisting of button mashing, you’re doing it wrong. I for one am happy Anet made it at least slightly challenging. Don’t expect a change to come since most of your fellow players are able to complete these quests without a problem.
My first play through I was a Guardian, and I got away with slouching in the strategy dept for a long time. However there came a point where I was starting to get overwhelmed by the waves of mobs, and as such I adjusted my playstyle; eg, that fiery dragon sword + diamond aegis may look cool, but it’s hardly suited to dealing with groups— swapped for mace/focus and saw a world of difference. That way I could aoe with my greatsword, then swap to mace/focus for defense while GS skills were on cooldown. Rinse repeat. Also your utility skills. If you just take a bunch of random kitten and passive signets, you’re kittening yourself. I had a similar experience with my Engineer, which definitely has a higher skill curve than Guardian, so I had to adapt at an even earlier level. I could go on but hopefully people get the picture.
tldr: it’s only too difficult if you don’t use your brain
edit: ps to the poster above me, your problem lies in your reliance on the npcs. I had a similar mission freeing this chick from pirates in a Whispers quest. My npc buddy would run in and die, leaving me to fend for myself. Truth is, those npcs aren’t there to carry you, they are just there for fluff. How did I beat it? I switched up for some CC skills and utility, kept a weapon that could provide burst, and focus-bursted down one while CCing the others/kiting. Strategy. Not brute force. Switch things up and it’s a lot easier.

There is nothing in the patch notes to indicate this was fixed.
Are you serious Anet?? Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
